jaesun loves the idea of the legacy café performance and is excited that he is actually able to take part in hosting his own performance this time around. honestly, with how crazy things had been, he wouldn’t have been surprised if the company told him that he had to sit out this time around, so getting the okay from them meant that he was going to take advantage of the opportunity.
of course, it doesn’t come easily. he spends small pockets of what little free time he has to put together the performance, and if he had to be honest, by the time the performance rolls around, he almost wonders if he should have thought twice about taking part. just maybe he wants to do too much when he should also be aware of just how much energy he has ( and his health as a whole ).
plus, his indecisiveness doesn’t help. how is he supposed to only pick out five songs out of a repertoire of great music? he had also considered doing a song with piano, but in the end, he cuts out that idea. he’s a good pianist, but he’s not that good, meaning that it won’t be that easy for him to learn something and feel confident about it. maybe that’s something he can work towards the next time around, but for this time? he’ll have to think up some other ideas.
thankfully, with some input from friends and family, he finally puts together his first setlist. while he isn’t entirely sure if he would think is the perfect setlist, he thinks it at least shows a wide range in terms of genre and style.
when the time comes for him to step onto the stage, he excitedly waves and when reaching the center of the stage where his seat awaits him, he first bows and after he stands up straight, introduces himself. “hello! how is everyone doing today? as you might know, or maybe you don’t know,” he laughs, “i’m v&a’s ahn jaesun, or aj. it’s so nice to see you all here today. mmm ...” he pauses for a moment as he looks around at the audience. “i’ve put together a list of performances today that i hope you will enjoy. i wanted to show different sides of me and so you’ll get some singing and some dancing. and of course, i appreciate any feedback so if there’s anything you’d like to share once it’s over, let me know so i can make this better for next time, hm? alright, are we ready to get started?”
“so for the first two performances, i’ll be singing a song called lonely. although the song is addressed to a girl, i like to think that it’s a song for my fans as well. you’ll see what i mean once you hear it. and then, true to myself, i had to pick out a cover of chungha sunbaenim’s ‘gotta go’. i don’t remember if i’ve already done it before, and well, even if i have, i’m sure not every single one of you have seen it or if you have, you’ll be excited to see it again, hm?” he flashes a grin and then takes a quick bow before he gets ready to start the first song.
the first two songs go by quickly and he’s given a break to catch his breath and say a few more words to the audience. “what did you all think?” he finally asks animatedly after he takes a drink of water. he tries not to show that he’s breathing heavily after the dance performance, but it can’t really be helped. he is human, after all. “it’s been a crazy last few years, finally making my debut. it’s really been unlike anything else even better than i imagined.” he tells the audience. “i just want to thank you all for continuing to support me as well as v&a. actually, all of legacy, hm? thank you for keeping us employed,” he jokes. “no, but really, it is such a joy to see all of you every time. we wouldn’t be here if we didn’t love this.” he grabs a towel and dabs lightly near his hairline.
"so we have three more songs together. i guess this is where my LA side comes back. i don’t know how it ended up all being english songs for this second half, but somehow it ended up that way. i hope you will enjoy it as well.”
shouts of excitement fill the room which hypes jaesun up even more. he has always thrived off audience energy, after all. the performance really ends all too quickly, and though he is tired, he’s happy. it’s the boost of energy that he always seems to get after a performance. “were the songs okay?” he asks the audience. “i know my time is almost up so i won’t talk too much more now. like the last song said, i like me better when i’m with you. that’s for all of you. thank you for spending this time with me. i always love performing for all of you and hope i get to for a long time to come.” he bows deeply and smiles brightly as he straightens up. “thank you again and get home safely! please take care of yourselves!” he blows a kiss to the audience before stepping off the stage.

“But like how rich is he?”
“Rich enough to buy this building three four times over” you mumbled, not really paying much attention to Jungwoo and more on the cake you’re trying to decorate
“And you broke up with him? Wah noona” you looked over at him with a glare, signaling him to shut up.
It was the day after the gala, you were supposed to take the day off but you’d rather keep yourself busy than overthink at home. Thus why you’re here now at the cafe with a very nosy Jungwoo beside you with his 100 questions after finding out you dated the Jung Jaehyun.
“I’m three seconds away from kicking you out of this store permanently”
“That’s the third time I heard that, this month” he smiled at you, walking back to the kitchen to grab the other pastries to be displayed. It’s still pretty early and it’s the weekend so you don’t expect that many people right now.
“So is he the guy you dated when you were in college?”
“Yes”
“You didn’t say he owned a big company”
“Are we playing 20 questions right now? Go serve the customers” you pushed him to the side when you heard the bell right, going back to what you were doing and letting Jungwoo deal with it.
“Goodmorning, what can I get you today?”
“Two iced americano please”
Hold up, you know that voice. You don’t even have to look up to see who it was, “Is that all? Would you like to try some of our cakes and pastries? It’s good to pair with the coffee” Jungwoo said, still clueless about who he’s currently talking to
“Is that green tea with pistachio? I’ll take a slice of that” it just so happens it was the cake you were currently setting up.
“Sure thing, is that all?” After taking his order, the guy walked to a vacant table.
“Noona, should I set you up with that guy? He was looking at you, plus he looks handsome and rich”
“Jungwoo”
“Mhm?”
“Shut up”
You were preparing the order when the bell rang again, “Goodmorning, welcome to the cafe” Jungwoo greeted happily.
“Oh, looks like he’s with someone” that made you halt for a second but quickly shaking it away. Passing the tray over to Jungwoo, “Here, go serve this and please stop being nosy”.
Jaehyun wanted to visit the cafe for some time now, but he didn’t want it to seem like he’s stalking you. He already knew you know how to bake, your cookies were his favorite. You used to bake those for him after exams as a way to cheer him up.
He didn’t know the first time he’ll be visiting here is when he’s about to break-up with his current ‘girlfriend’, with you standing only a few meters away. But after last night’s gala, Chungha called him suddenly asking if they could talk.
“Here’s your order, is there anything else I could get you?” Jungwoo asked him and Chunga but the girl just shook her head with a smile, “Really? green tea cake? Your taste is so weird sometimes” she chuckled at the sight of cake on the table
“It’s one of the more unique flavors, we also have a chocolate one. It’s our bestseller” Jungwoo added, “Maybe later, thanks”
After Jungwoo walked away, the two were left alone to talk.
“Go on, just say it”
“You don’t have to act all tough all the time you know”
His eyes landing on hers, as if he was telling her to just get on with it. “We had a good run” she chuckled, “What will your parents say when the word gets out?” Jaehyun asked. He might seem like a cold guy but he does still have some empathy left in him,
“I’ll deal with it. Happiness comes at a price, it just took me this long to realize I’m willing to pay for it no matter what the cost. Maybe you should too”
Jaehyun can’t help but look over at you, you were having a conversation with the guy that took his order and was laughing at something he said. Jaehyun’s gaze made Chungha look over at the side too, in that moment she knew
“So that’s her?”
“No” he cleared his throat before drinking his coffee, “You know you can’t lie that good, not to me atleast. Or her it looks like. Word of advice though, if she’s worth it just do it”
You were doing your best to ignore the two people on the far side of your cafe, Jaehyun and the girl looked like they were having a very serious conversation. When the girl stood up you immediately busied yourself again, then someone was standing infront of the counter on the other side.
“I heard the chocolate cake is the best seller here” she said, her voice gentle and sweet. She seems like a lovely lady.
“Yea, and the chocolate chip cookies too. Would you like to try it?” you asked her with a smile of your own
“I’ll take both to go” you packed the treats yourself, passing it over to her as she hand you her payment
“Green tea cake, sounds different” she chuckled, looking at the cake with a single slice missing “Oh yea, I just like trying out flavors here and there”
“What are you talking about? You always make that, if you want to try something new, you can order that. We always have extra” Jungwoo butted in, “Will keep that in mind, my friend loves that flavor”
“Oh, friend” Jungwoo said then looking over at you, “Thanks by the way” the lady said then walked out the door.
“Friend” Jungwoo repeated with a wicked grin on
“Stop”
“But this is your chance at finally landing someone! Jihyo may be bad at setting you up maybe I can”
“No-”
“Let’s just try, see he’s walking over here”
“I said-” “Uh can I have this cake to go, please? I’ll also get the rest of it” Jaehyun said looking back and forth between you and Jungwoo
“Sure, would that be all?” you asked as if you didn’t know him
“Uhm so my boss here-” you elbowed him on the stomach, trying to stop him from continuing. “I’m here! Sorry I’m a bit late, class finished later than I thought” Sungchan announced as he enter the shop, making the three of you look over at the tall boy
“Oh, hyung what are you doing here?” he asked Jaehyun when he spotted him, “You two know each other?” Jungwoo asked from beside you
Then it clicked, you almost wanted to slap yourself. How can you be so stupid, you’re not sure.
“You’re related, how come I never put that together” you looked back and forth between the two
“You two know each other?” Sungchan asked back, “Something like that” Jaehyun mumbled. That made Jungwoo look over at you then Jaehyun then at you again, “Oh, Jung Sungchan. then you must be-”
After that stressful encounter, you chose to just call it an early day and leave the boys at the cafe. Jaehyun didn’t say much afterwards, just waited for his order then left with a few words said to his younger brother.
Add that to the list of things you were thinking about. After the gala yesterday, after seeing Jaehyun’s mom again you can’t help but overthink about things again. A big part of you itching to do what you’ve always been meaning to do, something you wish you never did.
Unable to stop yourself, you opened the door of your closet and rummaged through until you find the box stashed inside. Stuffing it in your bag before shruging your coat on, took your keys and drove off.
You've only been at their place once, that was the first and last time.
It’s what you see in movies, the typical huge mansion rich people have in movies. The Jungs were no exception, their home looked like something straight out of a magazine. Until now you feel like you shouldn’t be here.
Parking your car on the driveway, you walked towards the front door. Knocking twice and wait for someone to open the door, when it did it was just the person you wanted to see,
“Can we talk?”
Jaehyun didn’t expect the turn of events this day had, after finding out his youngest sibling works part time at your cafe ofcourse he had to know more. Telling Sungchan he’ll wait until his shift is over to drive him home.
“You didn’t tell me you work at the cafe”
“Why? would you stop me just like mom?” the younger one asked, he knew what his brother meant. With their mother there’s almost little to no room for freedom, their lives were planned out for them. As kids they were told what they should be when they grow up, expectations they had to meet, things they needed to accomplish.
“No, it’s close to my office. You could’ve just worked for me” he answered, the older brother tone gone
“Then what’s the point? Like I said, I wanted to atleast see the world on my own before mom and dad stops me. Or atleast until college” Sungchan mumbles
“If you don’t want to study the course mom and dad are making you study just tell me, I’ll help you”
“Why? They’ll just get mad at you too”
“Then they can be both mad at us, don’t make the same stupid mistakes I did. Don’t take too long to decide that this isn’t the life you don’t want to live. Just... just be you. If they won’t have that, then you’ll have me” he sincerely said, meaning every word he just said.
He wished he had someone to say that to him back then, in a way he did. You told him that.
Even if the world is against him, he’ll have your hand to hold on to.
“So, how did you know Y/N noona?”
“We went to same college” he answered, keeping it brief. After that Sungchan didn’t ask anymore questions. When they finally arrived at their home, there’s an unfamiliar car on the driveway. Assuming that it was one of their parent’s visitor,
“Are you staying the night?” Sungchan ask as they walk towards the house, “No, just came to talk to mom about something”
“Okay, well see you later” the two brothers went their own ways, Sungchan skipping up the stairs to his room while Jaehyun walk around the house looking for his mom.
What he didn’t expect was to see who she was talking to, they were at the foyer, sitting at opposite sides of the table.
“Even when I didn’t have anything to my name, I never touched a cent in that envelope. I’m ashamed I even took in the first place, that was my mistake. And I’m still paying for it until now, you got what you wanted. Jaehyun hates me”
You were talking about him with his mother?
What envelop were you talking about?
“Then why did you take it?”
“Because it was the only way you’ll stop, I thought if I took the money and disappeared you would atleast spare him, you’d let him live the way he wants to. I don’t care if he’s angry at me, he has every right to be” you answered, no sign of intimidation or fear in your voice.
But he does hear the pain, and he hated it.
“Your son is worth more than whatever you give me, that money is bitter reminder of my lowest point. But even then, I’d rather starve and have no roof over my head than spend a single cent you gave me. It’s up to you if you tell him what you did, I think we’re way past the point of going back anyways. He can’t even stand being in the same room as me. One way or another, you got what you wanted. All I want is my peace, I don’t want that with me anymore, I don’t want to keep that in the corner of my closet like the monster I’m too scared to face”
Jaehyun was trying to take all of your words in, struggling to process the truth he just accidently uncovered.
All those years he thought you left him because you didn’t love him was in fact not what really happened, His mother, surprisingly but not really, manipulated his life yet again.
“All of the money is still in there, I haven’t touched that since then. I was just waiting for the day I could finally give it back to you. I’m pretty sure you don’t need it, but neither do I” you said your final words then rose from your seat.
When you turned around to leave the place you didn’t expect to see the person standing by the door, a gasp leaving Mrs. Jung’s mouth
“Jaehyun” she said but his gaze was on you
You didn’t have to ask him, you already knew he heard it. How much? probably enough judging by the look on his face.
You looked at him with same intense stare, trying to say your apologies without saying anything at all. It feels like there’s this weight lifted off of you after you gave the envelope containing the money back to his mom. Like this time you can look him in the eyes without thinking about the money stashed away in your closet.
There are still questions floating in his mind, you could tell. But Jaehyun didn’t look as troubled as he should be, even with the overwhelming amount of questions in his head he knew this time it would be okay. You were the only answer he needed.

Somebody to you
Summary: Going on a school trip with your best friends is something you've ever wanted but luck wasn't on your side. Not only were you going to see your childhood enemy on the trip, but you had to share cabins with him due to unfortunate circumstances on your end. How would the trip turn out?
Theme: College au, enemies to lovers
Genre: a little angsty, slightly suggestive but nothing too serious, fluff ending
WC: 7.8k
Pairing: Jeong Yunho x Fem!Reader
a/n: Hey there :) This one is a little longer than my other fics. Tell me if there's any mistakes! Anyways, hope you like it :)))
“Okay everyone, so as you may all know, the school has decided to let a few selected classes from each course go on a field trip to the mountain lodge where you will get to take part in fun activities such as skiing. Those classes who are not selected for this trip will be going on a different trip respectively since they could not accommodate a whole resort for the entire school.”
The school’s principal said through the loud speaker, announcing the school trip to everyone on campus. After he called out the selected classes for each trip, the students were visibly excited. But even then, somehow, two students from two different classes couldn’t help but frown as they both let out a defeated sigh.
The thought of seeing each other on campus was already disappointing enough. But to be stuck on a resort with the other, definitely never crossed their minds. After class was dismissed, you packed your bags too slowly for Jennie’s liking as the older girl tapped your nose teasingly.
“Hey. What’s with the face? You okay?” Jennie asked.
“No? It’s already bad enough that I see his face here everyday. Why do I have to see him again for the trip?” You said in an annoyed tone, causing Lisa to exchange a knowing look with Jennie.
“Are you talking about Yunho?” Lisa asked, a small sympathetic smile appeared on her face.
“Who else?” You puffed your cheeks. You three soon left the classroom, only for Jennie to speak up. “Oh come on, Y/N… Let’s ignore him and just enjoy this trip, hmm? Besides, look on the bright side! Yeri, Jihyo, Sana, Chungha and Mina will be there too!” You could only groan, making the two girls laugh.
By now, everyone knew the two Tom and Jerry on campus. You would never go a day without at least one verbal fight with him. You had just entered the cafeteria, finding for an empty table when you spotted him from afar with your eagle eyes.
You internally groaned when he happened to turn towards your direction as though he knew you were right there.
Yunho gave you a cold stare before turning back to his friends, allowing his smile to reappear on his face as if nothing happened. You continued your day as usual, despite not looking forward to the trip that was set to due in a week's time.
The week passed by pretty fast as you were unfortunately running late due to morning traffic. When you arrived on campus, you were at least 20 minutes late. However, apparently everyone was already given the chance to find a partner for each room and there were a total of 32 cabin houses that could accommodate a maximum of 9 people in each house.
You looked around to find your friends, but you nearly dropped your bags when you realized that they already had 9 people. With two girls whom you weren’t close with but you recognized them to be Yeri’s classmates. Jennie and Jihyo frowned, mouthing a series of ‘sorry’s and also saying that the headmaster didn’t give them a choice to wait for you.
You shook your head and smiled, telling them that it was okay.
Just then, the headmaster turned to the latecomers only to speak up. “Do all of you have a cabin to join?” The 6 students shook their heads. Just then, a familiar voice spoke up from just two rows down.
“She can room with us. We have one extra spot left.” This made you turn your head, only to lock eyes with Jeong Yunho. Of course you would never agree to staying in a cabin together with him, but at that current moment, you had to weigh the pros and cons.
It’s either you stay with complete strangers who may or may not be the best of people or stay with an enemy whom you know almost your whole life and suffer with him for the next one week until the trip ends. What could possibly go wrong.
Eh, what the heck.
“Sure, I’ll stay with them.” You said as the headmaster nods, pointing his hand towards Yunho’s group of friends.
You hesitantly walked up to them but the minute you stepped foot in their circle, Yunho was quick to speak up.
“Just because I helped you, doesn’t mean I don’t hate you anymore.”
“Oh, I didn’t ask for your help anyway. And, don’t worry, I still hate you.” You said. Yunho made a face at you, earning a roll of your eyes. The rest of them who witnessed this couldn’t help but glance back and forth between the two enemies.
They were soon heading off class by class respectively. At this point, you were thankful that you could finally reunite with your best friends instead of being stuck with him.
The journey to the mountains took at least 4 hours but it was worth it.
When they arrived at the resort, it was a lot more beautiful than in the brochures. Everyone left the buses in awe at the spectacular scenery. Since it was almost the start of winter season, snow already began to coat the mountains and the roads in that area.
The temperature was cold and breezy, making them wear warm protective clothings. You got excited when you saw the skiing park right beside the resort, pulling Lisa and Jennie over to the railings. “Wow look!” You gasped with a bright smile on your face. Both Lisa and Jennie did the same as they watched the people ski down the slopes professionally.
After they’ve all entered the main lobby of the ski resort, the headmaster made an announcement.
“Alright everyone. When the staff calls out your name, please come and collect the keys to your cabins. I’ve already told the staff workers here to label and assign each cabin to the respective groups according to what you chose earlier. After I have dismissed everyone, you are free to roam around, explore this resort before going to the main food hall for lunch. I will give you about an hour and a half of free time. Do I make myself clear?”
Everyone responded in unison and soon, the staff member began to call out the names of the student representing each cabin to come forward and collect the keys. After everyone was done, they soon dispersed to go to their cabins.
You stuck with your friends as you followed them to their cabin. Unfortunately, their cabin was at least 5 blocks away. Making it difficult for you to even sneak out and go to their cabin at night like you planned. Nevertheless, the cabin interior looked really nice and cosy. The wooden interior makes it even more warm and spacious.
“Wow! It’s so pretty!”
“This is nothing like the pictures!”
“I wish we could live here together.”
A series of compliments were thrown the minute they entered the house. You were excited to stay in these kinds of cabins despite knowing you wouldn’t be sharing it with these bunch of people. The girls were about to explore more when you spoke up.
“Well, I’ll leave you guys to it. Text me if you guys are going anywhere fun!” You laughed.
“I’m so sorry Y/N! I really hoped for all of us to stay together.” Jihyo apologized, making you shake your head.
“It’s fine. We’re gonna see each other often during the activities anyway.” You said before you waved goodbye to them, leaving the cabin to go to your designated one on the other side of the resort. When you were just 4 feet away, you could already see the shoes scattered around the doorstep, making you sigh.
You didn’t have anything against the guys, because it was quite easy to say that you knew most of them on a name basis just that you aren’t close friends. However, the only person you knew the longest but also happens to be your enemy since high school, was obviously Yunho.
So when you pushed the door open, you immediately took in the wonderful pinewood smell of the gorgeous cabin. Completely ignoring the excited males running around the lodge.
“Oh, Y/N. Hey.” Hongjoong acknowledged you first, causing the rest to do the same.
You gave them a small smile followed by a nod before entering the cabin further. Once you were standing in the living room, just staring at Seonghwa who was wrestling Yeosang, a voice spoke up from the steps. “All the rooms have only one bed each, 3 queens and 1 king. We’ve already decided who rooms with who.” Yunho announced coldly.
“And…?” You paused, urging him to continue.
“And? Isn’t it already obvious who you’re rooming with? The boys figured you wouldn’t be comfortable sharing a room with someone you didn’t know. But I’m taking the bed. You can sleep on the couch.” Yunho said. You rolled your eyes, proceeding to walk in his direction before you came to a stop in front of him.
“I’d rather sleep in the kitchen instead of sharing the bed with you.”
“Be my guest.” He taunts. You could only growl before heading up the stairs.
Hours went by in a flash and it was already dinner time. You were already exhausted from the activities you did earlier in the day. Already planning to take a shower and head to bed the minute you reach the cabin.
A few minutes later after everyone was dismissed from dinner to head back to their cabins and rest, as promised, you immediately went to your shared room with Yunho only to unpack your things and organize them a little before heading for a shower. You didn’t realize it had been almost an hour and it was nearly time for the lights to be out.
Students were told to turn their lights off and sleep by 10pm. It was already 9:47pm. Yunho was downstairs with everyone else, probably still playing games.
You decided to take a quick warm shower. Taking only your towel and phone with you. You completely missed out your new clean clothes, thinking you could just get them later after the shower. About a good half an hour later, you had just stepped out of the bathtub shower completely wet but definitely fresh.
You reached for the towel on the rack and soon towel dried your body slightly before wrapping it around your body. You turned off your phone and left the bathroom. However, what you didn’t expect to see was a room filled with guys. You shrieked upon seeing them, making them flinch as they turned around to look at you.
“What the hell are you all doing in my room?!” You nearly screamed from both annoyance and embarrassment.
“This is my room too, darling.” Yunho said with a smug look on his face.
“And didn’t you say you were hanging out downstairs?”
“Mr Kwon was going around doing his rounding duties.” Mingi said bashfully, eyes clearly respecting your almost naked figure just desperately clutching onto your towel for your dear life.
“And why of all the rooms, you chose this one?”
“Because I said so?” Yunho replied for Mingi, making you scowl.
“Have I mentioned I hate you?”
“Not today actually, no.”
“The least you could do was warn me, Yunho.” You loudly whispered.
He rolled his eyes at you thickly. The room fell silent but you were still staring at your bag that was placed perfectly beside San on the ground. You wanted to tell them to leave but you thought it might be a bit rude considering you weren't exactly friends with them.
Somehow, Yunho could sense your uncertainty. With that being said, he got up from the bed and walked over to your luggage on the floor. He took the carrier and brought it over to you by the bathroom door. “Here. No need to thank me.” He said before turning back to go to his friends.
You couldn’t help but stare at his descending back, unsure as to why you suddenly felt a weird pull in your stomach. You ignored the feeling and soon disappeared back into the bathroom to change into a pair of sweatpants, a shirt and a thick hoodie.
You came back out a few minutes later with slightly dryer hair since you spent about 10 minutes blow drying it. You placed the luggage back beside San, taking out your charger and plugged it on the side table. When you turned around, the boys were still chatting and playing their card game only to speak up to Wooyoung and Seonghwa who were sitting on the side opposite Yunho.
“Move elsewhere. I’m trying to sleep unlike you owls.” You groaned as the two boys scurried away to sit nearer towards the centre of the mattress.
Once you climbed onto the bed, Yunho raised his eyebrow up in question.
“Uhh, who said you’re sleeping here? You’re taking the couch.” Yunho said firmly with a hint of irritation in his voice but you couldn’t care less. “In your dreams.” You said as you turned to let your back face them under the covers.
You didn’t see his burning glare, closing your eyes to sleep.
You fell into a deep slumber within 5 minutes, you felt lethargic as it took over your body almost immediately. A few minutes went by, the boys were still in the room playing a series of games from both card games to truth or dares. Remembering to keep their voices at a minimum. They were half way through playing Uno when they heard a shuffle coming from behind Seonghwa.
They watched as you rolled over in your sleep, only to face them.
But what made them feel so endeared by it was the way you laid. You were laying on your side, one hand tucked under the pillow. The other rested in front of your face, in a way covering your face.
Your hair draped over your face while your lips parted open very slightly. There was a few stifled laughter filling the room, only for Wooyoung to speak up in a hushed tone. “How is she so cold and feisty when she’s awake but so cute and vulnerable when she’s asleep?”
“I know right? Look at her.” Hongjoong giggled softly.
“You cannot not tell me you don’t find her attractive, even the slightest bit.” Yeosang directed his question to Yunho who was seen staring at your peaceful figure.
“I don’t know if I can answer you…” Yunho whispered.
The guys smiled as they continued playing the game. About half an hour later, Hongjoong was the first to urge the rest to head to bed since it was already late and that they should let you rest.
They left the room, not forgetting to clean the room after themselves. The minute everyone was out the door with only Yunho left in the room, he turned around to look at your sleeping figure. Yunho very quietly made his way to you, only to stop behind you. He carefully reached up, letting his hand hover over your face for a second.
He let out a soft sigh before he gently tucked your stray hairs behind your ear. Careful not to wake you up. Yunho couldn’t help but stare at you for a little while longer before he spoke up very quietly to no one in particular.
“What are you doing to me, Y/N?”
You stirred awake in the middle of the night, feeling the urgent need to use the bathroom. You got up groggily, only to shuffle your way to the bathroom. After you were done, you stepped out of the bathroom only to turn the lights off and head back to the bed. However, before you could lay back down, you saw Yunho curled up on the couch. From where you stood, his back was facing you but he looked fairly cold as his body was shivering slightly.
Despite the heaters in the cabin, the cold breeze from outside still managed to seep into the cabin.
You didn’t know why but you felt bad seeing him in that state. You wished you could just wake him up and call him into bed but you were afraid he might feel uncomfortable with it. So you opted to just take two of your jackets, one thick jacket and one full length windbreaker.
You quietly made your way to him, only to drape both jackets over his frame. He shifted in his sleep but never woke up. You carefully went back to bed, giving him one last glance before laying back down again.
5 hours later, Yunho woke up to a weird feeling of warmth engulfing his whole body. He remembered the night to be cold. For all he knew he was shivering last night. Yunho fluttered his eyes open, looking around to see what was the cause of warmth. That’s when he notices the pile of jackets on top of his frame.
He knew for a fact that it wasn’t his. With that being said, he glanced behind him only to see you still fast asleep on the bed. He couldn’t help but smile as he got up to take a shower.
Minutes turned into hours, they were all gathered by the ski lodge to go snowboarding. They stood according to the people in each cabin. You were standing between Jongho and Yeosang, while Yunho stood behind you.
They managed to follow the safety guidelines correctly, only for you to join your friends instead of sticking with the boys. They of course didn’t stop you from going. However, that doesn’t mean Yunho would choose to stop keeping his eye on you from afar. Others might think he’s just figuring out ways to torment you and cause you to make a fool out of herself since they always fought with one another.
But in reality, he was keeping an eye on you to make sure you never hurt yourself because after last night, he suddenly had a change of heart towards you. He just doesn’t want to admit it yet. You were racing down the hill with Yeri a few feet behind you, wanting to challenge each other to see who could win.
You were reaching the bottom but you didn’t notice the boulder ledge right in front of you until a voice called out to you from ahead. It was Chungha and Mina.
“Y/N, watch out!”
You didn’t have enough time to react, your nervousness took over the board as it began to wobble. You were just about to hit the boulder when somebody came swooping in from your left, toppling you over the hill instead of the ledge. Your heart jumped out of your chest as a scream left your lips.
You couldn’t even bother to see who saved you from plunging to your death as your bodies tumbled down the hill mercilessly. But the person who saved you, was holding you tightly against them. Putting a hand behind your head to protect it. Just when you finally rolled to a stop, that’s when you carefully pulled away.
You could hear a whole series of voices calling out to them but you couldn’t care less.
You were about to thank whoever that saved you but your words got stuck in your throat when you realized who it was. You were laying on top of him with your hands tucked between your chests. His arms were wrapped around your body, keeping you close to him. Snowflakes coated his hair and little on his face, probably the same for you.
Your faces were just inches away from each other but nobody wanted to pull away. “Are… Are you okay?” Yunho asked softly.
“Y-Yeah… you?”
“Mhm.”
With that, you carefully got off him. While Mingi and Hongjoong helped Yunho up, Jennie and Sana rushed over to help you.
“Are you sure you’re okay?” You asked him again, definitely not buying his answer since he practically took most of the hit. You knew he was at least in a mild pain but he put up a strong front. “I’m fine… really.” Yunho said. And for the first time ever, he flashed you a genuine smile that somewhat made you feel something in the pit of your stomach.
After dinner, they all headed back to the cabin where the boys were all tired and agreed to rest early for the night. Yunho showered first before letting you use the bathroom. Needless to say, the two of you didn’t argue much ever since the incident earlier. You simply talked to each other when you needed to.
You left the shower wearing a hoodie and a pair of loose pyjama pants. Yunho was just taking a few pillows from the bed when you stopped him.
“Yunho… uhh, you can take the bed. I’m not sleeping yet.” You said. Of course he took this chance to sleep on the bed, he did feel unsure if he should let you sleep on the couch. Before he could say anything, you left the room not forgetting to remind him again slightly louder.
“Sleep on the bed.” You soon closed the bedroom door only to head downstairs to make yourself a cup of tea. You could feel yourself starting to catch a cold, hoping the tea could cure your sickness.
You didn’t know how long it had been since you went downstairs. After what felt like forever, you finally went to wash your mug before going back up.
You came back to find Yunho lightly snoring on the queen sized bed. The cabin was still chilly despite the heaters so he had a hoodie on. The thick duvet covered up to his waist. He was laying with his stomach down, arms tucked under the pillow to support his head. He was facing the couch but he looked too pure and peaceful for you to even feel creeped out.
You found yourself smiling softly at him before going over to the couch. You laid there for a moment before you too fell asleep.
It was almost 4 hours later that he woke up to go to the bathroom. He turned off the bathroom lights and closed the door, ready to head back to bed when he saw you on the couch. You looked like you were shivering even though you had a thick hoodie on.
Yunho’s lips tugged into a smile as he walked up to you only to stop behind your figure. He shook his head softly at you before carefully slipping his arms underneath your knees and torso. Yunho swiftly lifts you off the couch, earning a very light groan from you. He carried you all the way to the bed, tucking you underneath the duvet before climbing in beside you.
Once he was sharing the space with you, Yunho gently pulled you against him until you were practically side hugging him. After he managed to find a comfortable position for both of you, that’s when he finally relaxed. He made you rest your head on his shoulder while his other arm rests on top of his chest.
Your right hand was tucked between your bodies while your left arm was draped over his stomach.
Immediately, the warmth was too nice to ignore as he soon fell asleep not before planting a very chaste kiss onto the top of your head. Yunho had no idea why he did that. He just felt like doing it.
The next morning, you woke up to an unusual warmth hugging your body. You never felt this warm during the previous morning when you woke up. You thought it was the heater’s work so you instantly relaxed further into the warmth. Just then, you felt a soft squeeze on your waist, making you open your eyes.
You carefully looked down to see an arm hugging your waist from the back. You didn’t have to turn around to see who it was. Just this alone was enough to make your cheeks flush red.
You mentally shook your thoughts away before you cautiously slipped out of his grasp to take a shower and got ready for breakfast. Thankfully, neither of you acknowledged it to avoid any awkwardness.
Hours went by and the activities today were less tiring but it did drain a bit of their energies. The boys were quite charged that night as all 8 of them gathered in the lounge area of their cabin. It was already half past eleven at night. The boys were just playing Jenga when Wooyoung noticed a figure stepping foot on the ground step by the stairs.
“Oh, Y/N. Are we being too loud?” He asked with a slight crinkle in his face, afraid of you lashing out. But instead, you smiled while shaking your head.
“No… I just… I couldn’t sleep…” You admitted to it shyly, fiddling with the hem of your hoodie before looking up to accidentally lock eyes with Yunho. Just then, Yeosang spoke up, asking if you wanted to join them. It took you less than a second to nod in agreement, making Yunho scoot over a little before patting down the space beside him.
Minutes ticked by as you watched them play, occasionally joining in. However, your eyes started to become droopy. Sleep was slowly taking over you as your head felt light with each passing minute.
Just then, right when Mingi was about to pull out the Jenga wood, Yunho felt a sudden weight on his left shoulder making him glancing down. That’s when he saw you resting your head on top of his shoulder. Since he couldn’t see if your eyes were closed or not, Yunho gently pat Jongho’s thigh who was seated on his right.
“Is she asleep?” Yunho whispered. The younger boy leaned over to take a peek. Curiously enough, the rest did the same.
“Yeap.” Jongho said softly in return, a smile gracing his lips. Yunho felt your hand grow limp on his sides before it dropped to his upper thigh, close to his hip bone. He glanced back up to see the rest of them smirking and giving him suggestive looks before one by one began to tease him.
“Looks like you’re finally weak for her huh?”
“Are you sure you hate her? You definitely don’t look like you do.”
“Sure, push her away if you hate her.”
“Do you need us to give you more proof that you’re actually in love with her?” Yunho simply glared at all of them, hoping you didn't hear any of this and thankfully, you didn’t.
About an hour later, everyone was heading to bed so while everyone was going to clear up the mess, the boys told Yunho to bring you upstairs. Yunho gently woke you up, shaking your arm softly.
“Y/N? Hey… wake up. Let’s go sleep upstairs, hmm?” His voice soothing to the ears. You stirred awake only to tilt your head up, too tired to realize how close your lips were. But of course, Yunho was too awake to notice the distance.
“Let’s go back to our room.” Yunho said as you nodded, struggling to stand up. Once you managed to find your balance, you made your way up with him to make sure you didn’t accidentally hurt yourself while going up the stairs.
Once they were both in your rooms, you walked over to the couch, making him stop you. “Woah, where are you going?”
“The couch?”
“What? Why?” He asked, genuinely confused.
“I thought you didn’t want me to sleep on the bed?” You asked, clearly still groggy from the nap. This made him let out a soft chuckle before walking to you. Yunho slides his hand around your waist only to guide you to the bed. If you were slightly more awake, you would have turned into a blushing mess. Once he sat you on the bed, he urged you to sleep.
“Then, where are you sleeping?” You asked with a small pout on your lip. Damn, you were making it so hard for him. “It’s okay. Just sleep. I’m not gonna do anything.”
“No, no, I know… It’s just… I want you to sleep with me… I mean, share the bed. It’s not too comfortable on the couch to be honest.” You finally admitted, making him smile. Yunho couldn’t help but chuckle softly at your words even though it was the most innocent thing he’s ever heard from you.
He gave in to your request, quickly taking off the hoodie he was wearing, only to leave the thin sweater he was wearing underneath. He soon climbed into bed after turning off the main lights in the room.
The minute he laid down on the mattress, you instantly craved for his warmth just like the night before.
Yunho allowed you to lay however you wanted, resorting to your head on his chest while your hands were hugging his torso. He could feel your legs tangle with his. The warmth engulfing you nicely. The both of you soon fell asleep without even waking up in the middle of the night unlike the previous nights.
The next morning, you both stirred awake around the same time. Neither of you realized the position they slept in until you moved your head slightly to feel his lips brush against yours. You were laying on your back with him on his side, so close to you as he hugged your waist.
Initially, your head was turned away from him but when you woke up, you turned your head to the opposite side. That’s when your lips accidentally brushed over his. Your heart almost leaped out of your chest while he grew awake when he felt that small skin ship. The room fell quiet for a second, simply just staring at each other. You were the first to pull away, climbing out of bed to excuse yourself to shower.
A few hours later, they had just gone back from husky sledding and ice karting. They were all gathered to eat dinner. Yunho was seated with his friends while you sat with your friends a few rows down from him.
But from where he sat, they could clearly see each other. Halfway through dinner, the host announced a quick game of run and hide. The objective of the game was for the leaders of each course to try and find the hidden treasure located somewhere in the resort. However, there will be a surprise during the game. Whoever finds the treasure and successfully brings it back to the dinner hall wins.
You turned to Lisa and Chungha who were seated opposite of you when you heard them squeak.
“I would rather stay here.”
“Me too!”
You couldn’t help but laugh as your eyes naturally found its way to Yunho’s. Your gaze lingered on each other for a minute before you looked away. The selected leaders were being called upon, with you being one of them.
Even though you were dreading this idea, you didn’t want to disappoint your classmates and course mates. You got led to the front along with 4 other students. You looked around to see that they were all students you weren't familiar with.
Besides, since you were going against each other, being in alliances wasn’t really important. However, your strategy soon got thrown in the bin when Yunho was pulled up to a stop beside you. You looked at him for a brief second, only to see a small smirk on his face. You tried to hide your smile by looking away but your lips gave it away and he definitely saw it.
The instructions were given, brand new torchlights were distributed and everyone was ready to find the hidden treasure. Once the whistle was blown, all 6 students dispersed to find the hidden treasure.
You and Yunho went separate ways at first. You went to the east side of the resort while he went to the west side. They were told that the treasure is not hidden in the cabins so you avoided doing that. The only areas that were out of bounds were the cabins and the forest that led to the mountains. Other than that, every other place is accessible.
You carefully searched through the trees along the pathway, searching along the cabin houses. Everywhere you could think of.
You were too busy searching for the treasure that you didn’t notice the person wearing a scary mask walking down the path with chains tied to his wrists. The man looked scary as he had a weird way of walking, almost like he was limping.
You were about to turn the corner when someone grabbed your wrist and pulled you back, using one hand to cover your mouth from behind. Once you were both squatting down behind the small bush, you let out a soft yelp as you felt yourself crash against a firm back. You glanced back to lock eyes with Yunho who whispered to your ear.
“Don’t scream…”
You were about to question him when the chains being dragged on the floor, followed by a low growl made you whip your head forwards. You clutched onto Yunho’s forearm out of fear as he slowly removed his hand from your mouth. His other arm was still wrapped around your waist.
“How did you know I was here?” You asked when you turned around to face him.
You tried to ignore the close proximity but he was doing nothing to hide his wandering eyes that travelled from your eyes to your nose, down to your lips and then back to your eyes. “I saw you searching through the bush and then I saw him.” Yunho said before looking back down at your lips again. This was enough to make your heart skip a beat as you turned back around to hide your blush by peeking out the gap to check if the coast was clear.
“I think we should-” You said as you turned around to talk to him when you saw the man dressed in the same way as the previous scary dude just metres behind Yunho.
“Go! Get up!” You yelled as you grabbed his hand and soon the both of them ran out the little alley between the two cabins. You ran hand in hand only for you to realize that there was more than one of them.
“This way!” Yunho said, bringing you back to the main building of the resort. You made your way to the other side of the building, only to come to a halt when Yunho spotted a treasure chest sitting behind the reception counter. It was hidden on the bottom shelf where no one could easily see unless they went close to the counter.
“Excuse me! Can you pass me that treasure box?” Yunho said to the clerk working behind the counter. She went over to the treasure box, only for you to see that you’re being cornered by the scary looking people.
“Yunho…” You warned by tugging on his sleeves and of course he got the signal.
The minute he took the treasure box, he quickly laced his fingers with yours and soon bolted down the lobby towards the main outdoor food hall. The two of you ran despite being chased by the scary looking men.
You were just a few feet away when a few same looking men blocked their paths right at the side entrance of the hall, making you both halt your steps. The other students who were watching gasped and screamed at you to take the other entrance on the other side. Yunho turned to you and asked if you could sprint. When you nodded, he told you to run around the back of the hall and go to the other entrance.
He managed to distract the men while you ran and when you successfully entered, you went straight to where the host and the other 4 students were. Who had treasure boxes too but they were empty.
Yunho managed to enter the hall, a few minutes later with a smaller treasure chest in his arms.
The host opened your boxes at the same time, only to reveal that your box was the correct hidden treasure, earning your course the win. Everyone cheered as you turned to Yunho who had a bright smile on his lips.
You then remembered what happened earlier beside the cabin. The memories came flooding in and you couldn’t seem to get that out of your mind.
Yunho took a few steps closer until he was right in front of her. You weren't sure what he was doing so when he pulled you into a hug, you found herself smiling against his chest. Both their friends were definitely shocked by this comeback but nevertheless they were glad that you two wouldn’t be fighting anymore.
After dinner was over, they all headed back to their own cabins. You hugged your girlfriends goodbye before joining Yunho and the others. They were walking down the path in silence while his friends were occupied with chatting to each other. The two of you were walking a few steps behind. Neither of you said a word until he spoke up first.
“I didn’t think you could run that fast.”
“I used to be a part of the track and field back in high school, remember? Or maybe you just didn’t realise since, you know...” A soft chuckle left your lips, making him do the same.
“Sorry if I scared you earlier.” He apologized.
“It’s okay. For all we know, you actually helped me from getting caught.” Yunho let out a laugh as they turned to enter their cabin.
He let you walk in first, holding the door for you. Such a gentleman. Once they were in, Wooyoung immediately took off his windbreaker and yelled happily. “Hey guys! Should we watch a movie tonight?” A series of yes went around only for you to turn to Yunho who was already staring at you expectantly.
“You can join them if you want. I think I’m gonna rest for a bit. I’ll see if I wanna join after.” You said, making the boys nod.
They all soon dispersed to their own rooms as Yunho followed behind you. Once you were in your shared room, he told you to shower first and so you did. But while waiting for you, Yunho sat on the bed in silence. Just thinking about how good it felt to hug you earlier and be that close to you.
Of course cuddling in bed is nice but you’ve never been that close in public. And for some reason, he liked it. He didn’t realize how long he had been sitting there for until he heard the bathroom door unlock. And out comes a freshly showered you with only a towel wrapped around your body. If he were to guess, you probably forgot to take your new clothes again.
“Forgot to take your clothes again?” Yunho asked with a soft chuckle, making you giggle with a nod.
He watched as you walked to your luggage, only to squat down to find your clothes. Once you took the clothes you wanted to wear, you excused yourself to go change and he just nodded. About 3 minutes later, you came back out looking as cozy as ever and all he wanted to do was hug you.
“Your turn.” You simply said, seeing him nod in response. When he disappeared into the bathroom, it was your turn to sit on the bed. You were just scrolling through your phone, looking at the pictures Lisa took of you at the ski lodge when you heard Yunho left the bathroom.
You looked up to find him walking out with just grey sweatpants on and nothing for his top.
Has he always been this toned?
You looked away to avoid him from thinking you were a creep, only to hear him chuckle. A few seconds later, he walked to you, stopping in front of you. Since you were sitting with your legs dangling off the bed due to using your phone while it's charging, Yunho had to stand almost in between your legs. That is if he took a few steps forward.
“Are you really not coming down?” He asked.
“I… I don’t know.”
“Come on, let’s hang out for a bit. When have we ever been this close without actually being on each other’s throats?” His comment made both of you laugh as you realized he was right.
Just then, he extended his hand out for you to take. So you did. However, before you could go far, you tugged on his hand while staying in place. Yunho turned around to look at you, silently asking if something was wrong. But instead of talking, you decided that actions definitely speak louder than words.
With that being said, you took two small steps only to lean up, pressing your lips softly on his. You could feel his breath hitch in his throat when you kissed him. Your lips soon curved into a smile as you felt him snake his hands around your waist.
He pulled you against him, only to guide you gently back down onto the bed. He scooted you up a little before climbing onto the mattress, resting in between your legs while he hovered over you.
Your lips never once parted.
Yunho hugged your waist as he carefully slid his hands underneath your hoodie. He slides his hands up your sides while he kisses your lips passionately before making his way down your neck. You were playing with his hair, feeling him kiss your neck when there was a sudden knock on the door.
It made both of you jump while he pressed his forehead into the crook of your neck. He planted a quick kiss to your collarbone before he pulled away to speak up. “What?”
“Hyung. Noona. Are you guys coming down to join us?” Jongho’s voice sounded muffled from the other side of the wooden door, making you giggle softly underneath him.
“Yeah, we’ll be down in a minute.”
“Okay!” Jongho said, and once he was gone, Yunho turned back to you with a small smile that melted your heart. “Do you still want me to say I hate you?” He whispered as his eyes lingered on your lips.
“Only if you want me to say I hate you too.” You teased.
“Yeah, I definitely don’t want that.” Yunho said before kissing you on the lips again, feeling you wrap an arm around his head to play with his hair. Something he was weak for.
Yunho gently caressed your sides, messaging the skin on your waist. His hands remained respectful so as to not touch you inappropriately without your consent. Just when he wanted to pull away, you purposely bucked your hips up, brushing your lower half against his.
A soft groan left his lips as he sucked in his breath. “Look who’s being needy now.” He teased.
“I’m not the only one.”
Yunho emitted a low growl from his throat, only to kiss you again. Except this time, his kiss was slightly rougher. He kissed his way down your neck, only to leave a mark on your skin where your shoulders and neck meet. You hissed when you felt him bite your skin. Yunho pulled away to see his art, making you blush.
“Are you seriously marking me now?” You asked with a laugh.
“Why not? At least now people know we’re no longer enemies.” He shrugged, earning a soft slap to his chest.
He couldn’t help but give you his cute toothy grin before kissing you on the lips again and soon helped you up. He threw over a shirt before they headed downstairs to find the boys already scattered around the living room. “Oh yay! You guys made it! Come on, we’re watching Infinity War!” San announced as they made extra room for Yunho and you.
You ended up sitting in between Yunho and Yeosang, but the minute you sat down, the other boy noticed the bruise growing on your neck. This made Yeosang smirk as he tried to come up with an excuse to make you leave the room for a bit.
“Y/N, can you help me get the box of soda on the counter? I forgot to take it.”
“Sure.” You soon got up to leave and the minute you’re gone, Yeosang turned to Yunho with a knowing smirk on his face.
“So, you two finally got along?” Yunho got confused at first but then when Yeosang pointed to the spot in between his neck and shoulder, the boy finally understood what Yeosang was referring to. He could only whisper a quick “shut up or I’ll kill you” before you came back.
The rest of them smirked at Yunho as well, only for you to get confused. “Is everything okay?” You asked.
“Oh yeah, everything’s okay. Is everything okay with you?” Hongjoong teased, making you frown.
“Yeah…?” Some of them were seen giggling and you were still confused. So a brilliant idea flashed into Yunho’s brain, wanting everyone to shut up. With that being said, he gently cups your chin and turns your head to him only to kiss you outrightly in front of the others. You immediately melted against his lips, ignoring both the screeches and giggles coming from all the boys.
Yunho bravely kisses down your neck to go over the spot that was now bruised, only to lick the burning skin. Yeosang faked a gag as he groaned in his spot.
“Okay, okay! We get it. Jeez.” Yeosang said, earning a laugh from the others. Yunho pulled away with a smirk on his face before placing a chaste kiss on your lips.
“Good. If any of you open your mouth about this to anyone, I’m gonna keep doing that in front of you.” Yunho warned teasingly, making them agree to the deal. your cheeks were burning red now as you turned your face to bury them in his shoulder.
Yunho could only chuckle as he kissed the top of your head lovingly, making your stomach do a flip.
That night before you went to sleep, you broke the news to your friends in your group chat. Everyone went crazy but they were happy for you. It was quite needless to say that almost all of them had expected this day to come sooner or later.
The two of you fell asleep in each other’s arms, with him holding you close. Yunho was happy to say the least. Since he’s actually had the longest crush on you just that he never admitted to it. He pretended to hate you because he was too shy to tell you how he really felt about you. He was just glad that both your classes were chosen to go on that trip.

Sugar and Coffee [16]
Chapter 15 - Chapter 16 - Chapter 17
➜ Words: 3k
➜ Genres: 99.5% Fluff, 0.5% Angst, Pâtisserie school!AU
➜ Summary: It isn't hard to be a pâtisserie chef, but it's not a piece of cake either. It seems like for you in particular, life keeps throwing in one wrench after another. It always finds ways to make your sweets bitter. The cherry on top is Jeon Jungkook — a rival with a sensitive sweet tooth who always finds ways to complain about you.
cr.
On Wednesday, you begin to bake, cut, and fill. The ingredients are pulled from the borrowed kitchen — eggs, butter, buttermilk, vegetable oil, sugar, flour, baking powder, unsweetened cocoa powder, and vanilla. The oven is preheated to three hundred degrees fahrenheit and the round pans are greased. The four of you measure and mix together the dry ingredients, and then the wet ingredients. Once it’s all ready, it’s baked while the ganache filling is worked on. Heavy cream, butter, chocolate, and a pinch of kosher salt are melted together with two tablespoons of brewed coffee to deepen the flavour. It cools and thickens, a fluffy texture that melts against your palate. And when the moist cake is out of the oven, it cools too before being cut and filled. “Alright, folks.” Namjoon dusts his hands off, shutting the fridge door. “Now on Friday, we just cover, dowel, and stack. Since the wedding is on Saturday, we want it to sleep overnight.” “We’re going to have to prepare decorations tomorrow,” Sejeong says. If there was anyone’s cake that she wanted to perfect, it was her own sister’s. “Crumb coat the cakes and smooth the frosting, colour the fondants, make the flowers. Just so we can get it prepared in time and not be rushing on the last day.” “Okay.” You offer a smile. “Are we still going with lavender?” “That’s the plan. But we can worry about that tomorrow. How have you two been? Any problems?” You glance at Jungkook, meeting his eye, but you divert hastily. “N-No, we’re fine. We’ve been enjoying ourselves. Thank you for bringing us along.” “That’s not a problem.” Namjoon laughs heartily, practically glowing with a healthy tan. “We’re happy to have two more sets of hands. God knows the wedding is hectic and stressful enough, right, honey?” “Chungha is having it tougher.” His wife sighs. “We’re just glad to get this done and over with.” In between family feuds and relatives duking it out, you don’t need to tell them that you and Jungkook are incidentally sharing the same room over a mistake in booking. They have enough on their plates as it is. But just because you don’t talk about your issues doesn’t mean that they’ve magically vanished. Even if you wish that were the case. “Morni—” The moment you open your sleepy eyes, Jeon Jungkook has manifested in the mirror. You choke on your toothpaste, toothbrush sucked into your throat like a vacuum, lodged in. You choke it out and sputter. Jungkook’s shocked awake, eyes widened as he pats your back. You cough and rinse your mouth. “Oh my god. You scared me to death!” “All I said was good morning!” He shoots you a look, leaning in too close with his still sleepy demeanour, fluffed hair and swollen face. “Are you alright?” “Obviously not! I almost died!” You’re not okay. Very far from any semblance of ‘okay’. For one, you can’t look the bastard in the eye. You can’t stop yourself from perspiring. It’s as if your best friend is someone worthy to be fearful of… No. It’s not that you’ve become afraid of Jungkook. You’re nervous. “I’m going to shower.” “Sounds good.” It shouldn’t be surprising. He even warned you. But the moment Jungkook starts to strip off his shirt, you’re caught off guard at how he didn’t wait for you to leave — how comfortable he is with you. You have half a mind left to sprint out of the bathroom. Nearly falling over. Barely catching your stumble. Jungkook watches with his brows raised incredulously. The bathroom door eventually shuts and you change as quick as you can, and run out of the room without a word. Like you’re being chased by loan sharks. “Hey, Y/N.” After ten minutes, Jungkook comes out topless, having forgotten to grab a shirt. But he pays no mind, toweling off his head. “We should get room servi—…...Y/N?” The doe-eyed boy looks around, realizing that you’re gone. You’ve headed across the resort to the restaurant for breakfast. Finally, you’re able to have a meal in peace without having to lift your head to see a big nose and brown, doe eyes. You grab a healthy serving of eggs, toast and cereal. And you pick a good table to look out and enjoy the view. But fifteen minutes into your meal, someone suddenly plops down across from you. You’re startled to death again. “I can’t believe you ditched me.” “S-Sorry…” You look away. “I was too hungry to wait.” “Could’ve told me at least. I would’ve hurried up.” He spreads cream cheese on his bagel, ruffled mop of hair flopping as he moves. He’s dressed like a true tourist again, this time with a hawaiian shirt that’s bright orange with blue florals all over it. Jungkook’s eyes are round and buggy as he bites down and he hums in satisfaction at the taste. “So what are our plans for today? It’s the only full day we have left before we have to work on the cake.” “I don’t know.” You stand up. “I finished. Should go back to the room. I have a stomach ache.” “Really?” His left cheek is puffed out with food stored inside. “But I just got here.” “Nature calls.” You run off, leaving your best friend in the dust. It’s horrible being stuck on an island with Jeon Jungkook. No matter where you run or how you hide, he’s always there. “How was the—” You scream. “—bathroom trip.” Jungkook looks at you, brows furrowed deep. “You scared me!” You put your hand over your heart where it’s pounding hard, threatening to jump out of your chest. “But I didn’t do anything,” he defends, mouth drawing open as he gestures around, perplexed at how you could be frightened in broad daylight, in the middle of the day, with this many people around. “Are you sure you’re okay?” “I’m fine. H-how’d you even find me?!” “I don’t know, I was just heading back to the room. The resort isn’t that big.” He shrugs and finally is able to get a good look at you. Jungkook slowly smiles at your one-piece swimsuit. “Are you going in for a dip? I can join.” The thought of Jungkook ripping off his shirt, jumping into the pool and getting all wet with you has your knees weak. It’s not a healthy idea. “No. Changed my mind. It’s kind of….cold out for a swim. I’m probably going to go back inside to change.” “Y/N. It’s hot. It’s like a hundred degrees out here.” You muster stiff laughter. “Well I’m feeling a bit chilly. Gonna go back and change. See ya!” You sprint off again, in a completely disoriented manner. Jungkook shouts your name when you nearly slip on a puddle of water by the poolside and almost crack your head open. But luckily, you catch yourself and throw him a half-hearted smile and an exaggerated wave goodbye. Part of you wishes you would’ve just fallen into the pool or hit your head. Maybe it would finally knock some sense into your brain. There’s no reason for you to be so nervous around him. This is Jeon Jungkook you’re talking about — IU fanboy, the biggest nerd of the universe, officially the worst flirt on this planet. There’s absolutely no reason for your stomach to flip. For you to be unable to retain eye contact with your friend. For you to suddenly be so self-aware and conscious of him that you feel nervous when he’s around and nervous when he’s not. There’s no reason whatsoever… “You need to get your head straight.” You’re muttering to yourself as you walk. You probably look crazy, but need to hear it out loud. If no one’s going to help you by saying it, then you’ll say it yourself. “Focus, Y/N. Focus—” A blood-curdling shriek tears from your stomach when there’s suddenly knocking. You turn to see Jeon Jungkook beside you, separated by a window, but laughing hysterically at your reaction. His nose is scrunched, mouth drawn up into that boyish smile of his. He’s inside the fitness center in a white tank top, sweating enough to make his hair damp, and the dark stands are pushed back against his head. That little shit is scaring you on purpose now. “Are you shitting me, Jeon Jungkook?!” Your fist pounds against the glass and you fail to notice how everyone else in the gym is whirling their heads around at the noise. The resort attendant runs up on you. “Ma’am, please don’t bang on the glass.” “S-sorry.” Jungkook is in bigger hysterics now, bent over and grabbing his stomach, laughing loud enough for you to hear through the window. His smile is excited, eyes lit up. Everywhere. Every corner you turn to. Every path you take. Some way or another — whether you’re talking to Namjoon or Chungha, hanging at the bar, around the pool, on the beach to watch the waves — no matter how hard you try to evade him, Jungkook is always there. You didn’t know it would be so hard to avoid him. He’s truly like the plague. Or maybe a curse. Better yet, it would be more fitting to call Jeon Jungkook the year-round Christmas grinch. He’s here to ruin your life, ruin your holiday, and make your head filled with him and only him. “You’re not avoiding me, are you?” He finally asks after crawling into bed beside you that night. His hands are folded on top of his midsection and he’s staring up at the ceiling even if he can’t see when the entire room is drowned in a comfortable darkness. You muster some laughter. “Don’t be ridiculous.” The sheets shift and from the little light coming through the terrace glass doors, you can see him looking at you. And you can feel his body warmth with the small distance. “I would hate it if you were a hypocrite since you don’t like when others ghost you.” “I said I’m not,” you whine. The lie gives a tickle of guilt in your gut. “You shouldn’t accuse people after they’ve already defended themselves.” “Okay.” The corners of his lips quirk. “Just making sure. I don’t want to scare you off.” You scoff, eyes adjusting enough to be able to look at him. It’s quiet, with him beside you underneath the covers, too close but too far. Yet somehow, in spite of the silence of your room, it’s still very noisy inside your head. “You really think you’re going to get rid of me that easily?” “No. And I’m glad for that. I wouldn’t want to lose you.” Jungkook grins and he teases, “You’re not a coward, Y/N. Right?” “Psh. Go to bed, Jeon.” “Hmm, I’m not tired, but I do know an activity we can do together that’ll tire me right out.” “Yeah, my fist meeting your face.” He laughs and you roll over, tugging the covers up to your chin. You don’t say out loud, don’t admit it, but you are a coward. One big coward who pretends to face the truth with courage, but actually learnt to run and hide in the face of trouble. A coward who can’t face the music, who’s actually wide awake like he is, but won’t say it. Whose heart is stuttering too loud to try to slip underneath the seduction of slumber. You won’t admit the funny feeling you get when your gaze sets upon Jungkook. You won’t acknowledge it even when it’s screaming into your ear drums and drumming against your rib cage. You won’t confess that the nervousness you feel is far from platonic. It’s hard not to feel stuck on Jungkook. These days, the last person you see before you sleep is him and he’s the first person you see when you wake up. He’s both the beginning and the end. “Hey, Y/N.” You’re stirred away by a soft voice calling to you. “Wake up.” When your lids peel back, you see him. The strands of his black hair nearly tickle the skin of your cheeks and he smiles tenderly at you. “We have a long day. Come on.” You’re a coward and you have been for some time now. // Friday is the busiest day of the week. It’s the eve of the wedding and where you’re in the kitchen for hours on end. Between the four of you, the lilac-coloured fondant is rolled out to cover the chocolate cake and ganache frosting. The dowel rods are inserted and the cake is stacked. Once it’s to Sejeong’s satisfaction, the decorating process begins. The sugar lavender that you made yesterday is used, placed delicately in the correct positions and you work on tracing a lace pattern on the bottom most layer. Hours later, with muscles sore and eyes stinging, she’s finally satisfied. It ends up looking magnificent. All the effort is presented in front of you — the cake is a soft purple colour, lavender flowers made from gum paste and real lilacs edible. “It’s too pretty to eat.” “It always is.” Sejeong smiles. “But when we do, it’ll be delicious.” Namjoon stretches his arms over his head, making noises as his bones crack. “I’m starving. What time is it?” He checks his watch. “I think the snack bar is still open. We should go eat now since we have to wake up bright and early tomorrow.” “I forgot how much work it was to be a bridesmaid.” Sejeong sighs lightly. “Let’s just get the cake in the fridge for now.” Jungkook and Namjoon carefully move the cake into the refrigerator area, a whole cold storage, and you take your aprons off, washing your hands. Sejeong turns to you and Jungkook. “Are you guys hungry too? You probably are since we’ve been working so late.” You exchange a look with him. “N-No. We’re fine.” “Are you sure?” Namjoon asks, brows raised. “Yeah, I’m sure. I’m more tired than hungry. I’ll probably call it a night.” “Same here.” Jungkook offers a smile, following your lead. “Well alright, I’ll see you both bright and early then! Good job, you two.” Namjoon smiles and both he and his wife leave the kitchen, talking to one another until their voices fade away. Jungkook then turns to you with his brow raised. “Are you really not hungry?” You look down at your stomach and it rumbles. You wonder if he can hear it too. “I thought I’d give them alone time since we’ve been busy all day….” An extended sigh pulls from the man’s lungs. Jungkook smiles and as he passes by you, he ruffles your hair. “You’re so unnecessarily thoughtful sometimes….” You turn around, trailing after him. Jungkook opens the fridge and hums, eyes searching. “What are you doing?” you ask curiously. “Looking for ingredients since a little someone said they weren’t hungry and now we can’t go to the only place still open.” He grins easily. “So unless you want to go back to the hotel room and wait half an hour for room service, I’ll cook.” Jungkook sounds so self-assured that you comply, finding your place on a stool as he begins to pull out mushrooms, shallots, parmesan cheese, butter, and starts digging around the cupboards. “You can cook?” “’Course I can. I’m a master of the kitchen.” His eyes flicker up and the little shit mocks you. “Why? Can’t you?” “The pan always burns,” you mutter. “Is that why you can’t melt chocolate over the stove?” he questions with a glint of mischief. “For the record, I’m getting better. It’s not like I do it intentionally anyway. But are we even allowed to use these ingredients, Jungkook? Won’t we get into trouble?” It’s not your kitchen after all — just a small space the resort was willing to let you use. He merely shrugs. “We have to live a little.” You sit on the other side of the island, watching him closely. Jungkook finds a can of chicken stock and heats it over the stove in a small saucepan. Then he moves to chop shallots and mushrooms, sleeves pulled up to his elbows, forearms revealed as he works the knife in a constant motion that’s therapeutic to listen to. Jungkook fries the shallots and mushrooms over the hot oil and butter in a skillet, tossing and flipping them as they sizzle. He works fluidly, in a rhythm without needing to stop and think twice. It’s fun to watch. “What are you making?” “Mushroom risotto.” “Sounds fancy.” “It is,” he lies. In your ignorance, you’re unaware that it’s actually an easy recipe. You’re also oblivious to the fact that Jungkook is secretly beaming with gratitude that his dad taught him this recipe years ago. His dad was right that he needed to learn how to cook basic dishes to one day impress. Jungkook adds the rice, coating it in the butter before adding a cup of white wine he found in the cupboards. Once it’s fully absorbed, he puts in the chicken stock and adds salt to taste. All the while, he’s watching you from the corner of his eye. He can read you like a book and your amazed expression feeds directly into his ego. When Jungkook turns around to throw something in the sink, he lets his enormous smile slip. “If we ever have the time, I’ll make you shrimp or chicken risotto.” “You can make that?” “Of course, cooking isn’t hard.” “Pft. You really know how to do everything, don’t you, Jeon?” “You said it, not me.” He serves it on a big plate, even taking the extra step to clean the edges up with a napkin. You’re amazed and when he arrogantly urges you to take a bite, you can’t even tell him off. It’s delicious. And once you say so, he can't deny how happy he is. Jungkook is over the fucking moon. He would cook for you for the rest of his life if you’d let him.

“Five is better than three, annyeonghaseyo, WI5HES-ibnida!” The echo of your introduction rings through the dressing room, backstage of the MCountdown stage. It draws goosebumps from your arms and your back. Min Jung grits her teeth, attempting to contain her anxiety when she sees herself on stage through the recording for the first time.
So Eun’s sobbing into Ju Rin’s shoulder, and Ga Hyun has her phone out, randomly snapping photos of So Eun’s slightly smudged make-up.
“Yah, haven’t you taken enough?” Ju Rin wraps the rim of Ga Hyun’s phone with her palm, covering the camera, unable to contain her grin.
“Aw, come on!” Ga Hyun pouts, retracting her phone and wiping the lens with her sleeve. “It’s not everyday we get to debut.”
Knock Knock
“Who is it?” Ju Rin cranes her neck behind her, nodding for Min Jung to get the door. Already halfway down a bow, Min Jung opens the door to reveal a strange mixture of Hyunjin, I.N, Soobin, Yeonjun and Beomgyu.
“Oh, annyeonghaseyo,” Min Jung’s reflexes are to greet Hyunjin and I.N first.
“Annyeonghaseyo,” Hyunjin and I.N bow to the lot of you, and suddenly everybody’s bowing. “Congratulations on your debut!”
Ju Rin releases So Eun to receive the adorable box of cupcakes from Hyunjin and I.N.
“Chan-hyung and the others send their regards. They couldn’t be here today for a separate schedule.”
“Oh, we’re not the ones you should be reporting this to,” Ga Hyun snickers, pulling away from what looks like a handshake routine with Beomgyu. Eyes turn to you, forcing the blush on your cheeks to be of natural effect and not the make-up.
After the scandal with Yeonjun, things died down relatively quickly. More pictures of you training with the other members were released, diluting the idea that you and Yeonjun were dating. Furthermore, there was no other evidence of you and Yeonjun going out on secret dates that the company didn’t know about.
But of course, WI5HES and TXT know about Minho’s confession, and needless to say, they had to be reeled back under control.
“My God, it’s like you want Lee Know hyung to pass out from jealousy,” Hyunjin’s eyes narrow with mischief, holding out his phone screen to you.
“What? Why would he be jealous? There’s not a single person on that page that’s a threat to him,” Scrolling through the pictures absent-mindedly, you scorn at his baseless remark.
“He’ll be jealous solely from the fact that you look good in your photos,” Jeongin sucks on the upper row of his teeth.
“I know,” A shy smile appears on your lips. “We’ve had this conversation before.”
“Eugh,” Hyunjin shudders, shoulders reaching his ears as he groans in disgust. “Glad I wasn’t around for that conversation.”
“Anyway, thank you all for coming by our Debut Stage today, but we gotta head back to BigHit to handle some new scheduling,” Ju Rin’s waving her hands, telling the girls to pack up and for TXT to help.
Walking past Sunmi, Chungha and other idols while you make your way out of the building felt so strange and alien, you almost couldn’t believe you were at the end of your first promotion. You were an idol now, and there was no going back. Everything you did, every move you made - would be under public scruntiny now, regardless of the reason, whether you liked it or not.
“Thank you!” The bodyguard nods at you as he shuts the door. Sat in the middle with Ju Rin to your right, and the three younger in the back, you can smell the odd mixture of perfume and that strange scent of new costumes and clothes. BigHit - no, HYBE - had invested so much into your costumes though they looked nothing like the price they cost.
Then again, half of you were wearing YSL pullovers and Dior jeans.
“You okay?”
“Hmm?” Turning your head as it leans against the headrest, your eyes meet Ju Rin’s. “Yeah, you? I’m surprised you haven’t cried yet.”
Ju Rin laughs under her breath, glancing out the window as the car starts. “Oh, believe me, I’ve cried. I just don’t do it infront of you guys.”
“Aw,” The sides of your lips curl downwards. There’s a pinch in your heart you can’t take, only because Ju Rin has to keep up such a strong facade for you and for the rest of her members. She’s responsible, and time and time again she reminds you why she was chosen to be leader. “You know you can cry infront of us. You don’t have to act or put up a strong front.”
“I know, but I wouldn’t be able to see you guys crying tears of... happiness if my vision is blurred out by my own, right?”
You can’t contain the scoff that runs out your throat, eyes darting to look at the city outside, now coated with the drizzle that’s blurring the city sights.
“Fucking full of shit,” You chuckle under your breath, unable to hide the smile that’s stretching across your face.
Ju Rin snickers and purses her lips, reaching her left hand out to you. Her hand is warm and soft (from all the moisturizer products she’s using - HYBE’s trying to get her some make-up CF already), but the smile on her face is more home than anything will ever be.
Time to count the number of days before the world is made your home. Tours, meeting new people, inspiring others with your love for performance and dance, the same way you were inspired into chasing a dream that you didn’t even think you had a chance of achieving. Some might say it’s unfair, how the chance fell unto your feet all so easily, like it had been planned. It’s unfair that of all the crew members to be scouted, you were the only one.
But that wasn’t your dream. At that point of time in your life, all you wanted was to fulfil your need to be perfect in dancing; to be by Minho’s side. So, in some way, fate had pulled you away from him instead.
He didn’t tell anybody he auditioned for Cube. He didn’t tell anybody he’d auditioned for JYP before that either, only for JYP to call him back to be part of that cursed show.
And before you knew it, you had lost the one thing you didn’t want to lose: Minho. It was heartbreaking, watching him live his life of a dream that he’d been chasing without you knowing in the first place. You couldn’t decide if you were angry with him for leaving you out of his happiness or if you had simply convinced yourself he had forgotten about you.
But you caught yourself tripping over your own feelings of hurt and love when you realise you started searching for some bit of Minho in someone else, and you were lucky it was Yeonjun. Yeonjun who had a pure heart and nothing but kindness.
The things that could’ve happened had you searched for a part of Minho in someone else who might’ve taken you for granted.
Minho made up for that heartbreak though, when Hyunjin had told him you were alone with Yeonjun, walking to some desolate part of the building but only spotted Yeonjun coming back alone. Minho, who at that point of time already known you a good three (or was it four?) years, knew you well enough to know that you were somewhere sobbing your eyes out.
His scent when he had his arms around you was stuck in your nostrils for days and weeks because that was just how long he had spent being away from you. You didn’t even know how much you missed his scent until it was in your system again.
The risk you both had chosen to take that fateful day when the scandal of you and Yeonjun was released was of astounding magnitude.
Who the Hell confesses their love to another celebrity, so close to their own debut date?
“You,” Minho trills, almost crumpling the Uno cards on the table. The tears in the corners of your eyes are threatening to dribble over your lids, but then Changbin is sitting behind you on the sofa, trying his best to hide his laughter through his gritted teeth. “We’ll see if the two of you can still laugh after this.”
Minho picks up twelve cards with a disproportionate amount of strength, the cards nearly being folded under his fingers.
“Yah- hyung!” Changbin yells and points at the cards, glaring at the elder.
“What? You complain about me damaging the cards as if you can’t afford a new deck yourself.”
“This is our fifth deck!” Changbin nearly screeches, and the exchange forces you to fall to your back at Changbin’s feet, your arm clutching your tummy from how much it hurt from your laughter.
“Oh my God!” The words are struggling to leave your voice box, between silent giggles. “This- this is your- oh, my God- this is your fifth deck?”
“We’ll need a sixth deck soon! Can you tell your man to be a little less aggressive?!” Changbin loses his patience and gets up, hands sweeping the cards off the table and plucking Minho’s set out from his hands.
“Yah!”
“‘Yah’,” Changbin’s distorted imitation of Minho calls for the elder to surge to his feet, suddenly towering over Changbin who cowers on the couch behind you. “Ah- Ah- OkAy, take your stupid cards back-”
“I’ll get you a new deck if I destroy this one, but first I gotta destroy you.”
The finger in your face goes unnoticed when you laugh again, stomach hurting from the aggressive giggling.
“My God, she’s lost it!” Minho sings sarcastically, holding his hands to his head with the cards still in his palm. “No, quick, Earth to y/n, come back so I can win!”
“Eugh,” Changbin groans and squints his eyes. Minho never says these kind of things, so when he does, it’s weird, and unlike of him to do so, making it ultra-
“CriNGe!!!!!” Hyunjin yells at the top of his voice as he exits his room and heads for the kitchen. “Just get a room already!”
“HYUNJIN!” Chan’s voice booms from elsewhere in the apartment.

Caramel Latte: Chungha x Reader
Request: Hi! Can i request a fluffy coffee shop au with chungha. I can't think of the details at the moment (sorry)
You groaned at the sound of your alarm, not wanting to wake up at 6 am. Quickly you got dressed in a pair of jeans, a white t shirt, and your favorite pair of sneakers. You tied your hair up in a messy bun and pulled on your favorite hoodie before rushing out the door.
The cold air hit your skin sending shivers down your spine, the walk was shorter than usual because you practically ran to get out of the cold. The coffee shop was only a few blocks up the street so you didn’t have to run for long.
You walked inside and flipped on the lights before starting to brew the coffees and teas for the day. Thankfully not many people knew this little shop existed. You had just enough customers to make good money but not enough customers to be overwhelmed.
“Hey Y/N!” Your coworker Yerim happily called through the coffee shop. She pulled the pastries from their bags and placed them in the display cases. You both worked quickly so you could open on time. When you both finished you pulled on your aprons on and clipped on your name tags. Yerim turned the sign in the window so it said OPEN then hopped back behind the counter with you.
As the morning went on people came in and out, heading to work or school. Some sat around and talked while others came in and left quickly. The warm atmosphere inside along with the gentle smell of coffee settling in the air, made for a comfortable environment.
The bell that hung from the door snapped you out of your thoughts. One of your most frequent customers shuffled through. She was a Korean girl, she had to be around your age. She was without a doubt one of the most beautiful girls you’d ever seen. She always ordered the same drink, a caramel latte with soy milk and cinnamon on the top. However she never once ordered with the same name. Over the past few weeks you’d heard her say so many names you weren’t sure if she ever slipped her own to you.
“Hot caramel latte with soy milk and cinnamon on the top for here?” You asked her with a soft smile. She returned the smile and said “yes please.” You asked “and what will the name be for this order?” She responded “Chungha”. As usual you read the order back to her “nodded and entered the information into the cash register. “Hot caramel latte with soy milk and cinnamon on the top for Chungha?” She nodded and you said “ok that’ll be $4.50. I’ll bring it to your table.” She paid in cash making sure to give you a $10, putting the change equally in your and Yerim’s tip jar.
When you went back to make her drink Yerim asked “is that the girl who never uses the same name?” You nodded as you focused on pouring the hot coffee in the shallow mug. Carefully you prepared her drink making sure not to mess anything up. You walked slowly bringing it to her table before placing it in front of her, “Hot caramel latte with soy milk and cinnamon on the top for Chungha.”
The girl looked up from her book and smiled at you, pushing her glasses up as they almost slid off her face. Throughout the day you stole quick glances from her direction, she got up occasionally to use the restroom but that was all. She paged through her book for hours until about an hour before closing. You watched as she pulled a small calendar and started writing in it, not showing any signs of stopping.
Another hour passed and it was time for you and Yerim to close up. You both started to clean up behind the counters before telling customers to leave, you knew they found this place as an escape from reality. It was something you shared with many customers, forcing them out before they had to just felt wrong.
Soon both you and Yerim had finished cleaning for the day, and as usual you both made drinks for yourself before getting ready to leave.
“Hey...” You heard a familiar soft voice behind you. Turning around you saw the girl behind you with a soft smile. She asked “do you have anywhere to be after this?” You shook your head and said “no why?” She responded “this might sound strange but I was wondering if you’d wanna hang out?” You nearly choked on your own breath but did your best to cover up your surprise “yeah sure.” Yerim shooed you away telling you she’d lock up for you so you could run off with this mystery girl.
You walked outside with the girl and asked “what’s your name?” She responded “Chungha” You asked “seriously? Or is that a fake name? You’ve told me hundreds i. the past I don’t know which one is yours.” She laughed and said “no no I promise it’s Chungha.” She walked and talked with you, the further you two talked, the more you realized you both shared a lot in common.
You told her I have a question”, she nodded and you continued “why did you want to walk with me?” She responded “well...I kind of realized, well a while ago I realized that I really like you.” You asked “me?” She responded “mhm” You laughed and said “you can do much better than me, look at you. You have like everything all in one.”
She turned to you “but I like you. You’re little smile you have everytime I walk in. And the way you blush when Yerim teases you about me. The way you use a heart stencil for the cinnamon on my latte. The way you laugh so loud it fills the entire coffee shop, especially when Yerim spills something on herself. I like all of those things about you.” You felt your face heat up “what’re you saying...” She asked “will you go on a date with me tomorrow?” You nodded with a smile and she hugged you. She stopped in front of a large shiny apartment complex “this is me, I’ll see you tomorrow.” She slipped you a piece of paper before running off up to her place. You opened the paper and saw her phone number scribbled into it.
When you got back to your apartment you called Yerim and told her what happened. Your best friend/coworker was beyond thrilled for you.

The following day you woke up with a smile on your face. When you got to work you did the usual things that came with your job, Yerim showing you an hour after you. Customers came in and out throughout the day but Chungha didn’t show. You felt sad she wasn’t there but you had faith that she’d show up for your date as planned.
You left from behind the counter to go change about 30 minutes before your shift ended, per Yerim’s request. When you came from the back room your best friend had a wide smile across her face. “You look so good oh my goodness! It’s like you’re a whole brand new person!” You laughed and said “yeah I guess...”
While Yerim washed up everything behind the counter, you cleaned the tables and flipped the chairs to help out. As soon as you and Yerim finished locking up you heard a voice from behind you.
“Y/N.” You turned around to see Chungha, looking even more beautiful at that. She was wearing a black pair of jeans and a black t shirt but a full face of makeup. Yerim ran off so she didn’t interrupt you two, leaving you both alone.
“I’m sorry. My agency booked me for a photoshoot last minute, I was there all day so I couldn’t be here with you.” She sincerely said, puffing heavily in between words. You asked “did you run here?” She nodded and said “uh huh...I- I was two miles away. We- we ended.... 15 minutes ago.” You let her catch her breath before you continued conversation.
Once she regained her breath you linked arms with her and started walking. You asked her “agency?” She nodded and said “yeah i’m signed with FORD Models.” Your eyes widened “FORD Models? Like THE FORD Models?!” She laughed and said “yeah that’s the one.” You asked “why haven’t I seen you around?” She responded “my photoshoots are only seen overseas right now, but i’ll be here soon enough I hope.”
You both hopped into a public bus and rode it to the last stop. When you walked off you saw a beautiful beach with a long dock. You two walked along the dock, sitting on a bench that overlooked the water.
You sat down and asked “why’d you bring me here?” She responded “it’s somewhere I come to a lot actually. When I first signed with FORD I didn’t know anyone, I was the youngest one signed to the adults contracts. I found coming here and listening to the waves was where I felt the most comfort.”
You hesitated but grew the confidence and wrapped an arm around her shoulder. She scooted closer to you and rested her head on your shoulder. You both remained silent for a while enjoying the view in front of you.
The sun started to slowly dip beneath the horizon, painting the sky in beautiful shades of pink and orange. You said softly “it’s so beautiful.” Chungha smiled softly and reached for your hand. Her thumb grazed the back of it and she said “you’re beautiful.” You felt butterflies erupt in your stomach hearing her words, your heart speeding up as well.
You both waited until the sun was completely gone before heading back into the city and your respective homes.
The both of you stood outside of Chungha’s apartment complex. “I had a lot of fun tonight Y/N, thank you for agreeing to come out with me.” She thanked you with a genuine smile. You responded “you don’t have to thank me, and I had an amazing time too.”
She told you “goodnight I’ll see you tomorrow” She turned around and made it halfway to the main doors of her building before she turned back around and ran back to you. “Whats wrong?” You asked her with concern. She responded “I forgot to do something.” You raised an eyebrow and without hesitation she stood on her tip toes and pulled you in for a kiss. When she pulled away she had the same soft smile you loved. She pecked your lips a second time before turning around again and walking inside.
You smiled from ear to ear, your cheeks turning a bright pink upon the realization of what just happened. You couldn’t wait to get home and hush to Yerim over the phone about your incredible date.

“I remember very first time in love” you started to sing, making chungha’s eyes grow
at this point you were dancing too and people were looking at you and laughing but you don’t care because this is making chungha smile
when you finally stop your little performance, chungha is applausing and is more relaxed too
she almost froze when you grab her hand and say “if you’re afraid up there, just hold my hand ok?”
oh god she fell for you so quickly
dating life

Psycho — Bae Joohyun (Continued)
Irene really, really loves you. Too much, you begin to realize.
Warnings: Psychotic!Au, mentions of abuse, murder, language, and in general dark themes.
“What the fuck just happened!” Chungha trembles. She never did good in high-pressure situations. Why did it seem that one thing was happening after the other? All bad?
“I don’t know.” You whisper. “Why the fuck would they think Johnny did it?”
“Because he was her boyfriend.” Ten responds. “But even so, isn’t that why he was going into questioning? So he could answer any questions they had about where he was at the time. I mean, we can prove he was drunk.”
“I don’t know if that would help his case.” Momo counters.
“It had to have been some proof of him being there. Maybe a letter he wrote her before or something.” Taeyong is walking around looking nothing less of L from Death Note, trying to figure out exactly how this could have happened.
“Tell me everything you two did that day.”
Taeyong snaps out of his thoughts at the sound of your voice. Words couldn’t describe how much he missed being able to talk to you—figure out life with you. There were so many things he wanted to say. So many things he needed you to know.
“We uh...we went to get coffee first thing in the morning.”
“Greenhouse?” You question. A familiar sight to him—you’re chewing on your bottom lip. You probably have a million things running through your head, just like him. The two of you were always so alike.
“Yes.” He confirms. He’s trying so hard to focus on his friend, and not all of your memories there. All the study sessions. All of the sneaky touches and kisses when everyone was nose deep in their books. “We were only there for like an hour before we bounced.”
“Did Johnny leave anything?” Chungha breathes out.
“I mean we got up for like 20 seconds to refill our coffee, but we were in a library. It was full of nerds, they wouldn’t be trying to set him up for murder. They were literally shushing us.”
Irene almost laughs out loud from his little snarky comment. He really was a cocky asshole wasn’t he?
“He’s right.” You breathe out. “Nobody even knew about Johnny and her being together anyway.”
“Nobody but us.” Ten agrees. Ten didn’t talk much when he was around his friends—only when necessary, but he loved them dearly. He also wanted to ask Irene to leave the house, as this was just too personal. He could care less about your dating life as long as you were safe, but she didn’t need to be here. “I think we need to find a more private area to discuss this shit.” He doesn’t try to quiet his voice. He doesn’t care if she hears.
Everyone is looking at you now, and you don’t know what to do. Irene is already pissed at you, and you don’t want to add on to it. She’s still not looking at you, and honestly it’s creepy.
“I’m gonna just take her home. She doesn’t need to be around all of this.”
“Fine, but don’t get sidetracked. I think I have an idea.” Taeyong says.
Irene gets up, not saying goodbye to anyone in the room. She’s outside as you and your friends exchange a look of confusion.
“Baby.” You prompt, grabbing her hand as she tried to run to the car. “Stop.”
“What?” She’s angry. You had never seen her angry before. She was always sweet, and ready to kneel for whatever you wanted. You enjoyed that power, no matter how bad it sounded. It was unusual, but you felt so secure.
“What is your problem? My friend just got fucking arrested, and you’re giving me attitude? Really?”
How dare you talk to her like this? She ought to slap the taste out of your mouth, so she does. She slaps you so hard she wouldn’t be surprised if your stupid friends heard it.
“Did you just—
“I’m sorry.” She says quickly. She’s rubbing your cheek as soft as possible, while the other hand is covering her mouth. “I can’t believe I just did that. Baby wait—
But you’re already walking to the car. She follows right behind you, barely getting a foot in before you’re backing out of the spot chosen early this morning.
“Please talk to me.” She’s crying now, the damage pooling out of her eyes.
“What?”
“Is this not your fucking earring, Suh!”
The detective slaps the desk, as if it would phase Johnny, who had now calmed down. He threw his fit in the back of the police car because he was smarter than he seemed. He knew the pressure had to be off when it came to this part. Except, he couldn’t believe what he was seeing. He hadn’t even realized he lost one of his earrings, but it was quite sad that the other was currently in his ear.
“It—it is. But I don’t know how it got on the scene—
“So you admit it. You admit that you killed her!”
“No!” Johnny shouts, “I’m just admitting that it’s my earring. You clearly see the other one in my ear!”
“If you didn’t kill her, then how did it get there? You’re lying right to my face.”
“Someone put it there to make it look like it was me! Do I look like I’m capable of killing someone? Look at me!” He screams. All of the hard work he had put in to keep his cool was washing away at once, and he needed to be out of here. He needed to be released from the cuffs.
“Who would go through the trouble Johnny? According to your reports, the only friends you have were her and the people who were at your apartment.”
“I don’t know. I really don’t know, but I can tell you I didn’t do it. You can check my friends phones, any of it. Check her phone!”
“You destroyed it!”
“No I didn’t!”
“Did you text her?” Momo asks. She’s impatient—pacing back and forth through the dead, but full apartment.
“I did. Just waiting on a response.”
That was the first exchange Taeyong and Momo had in months, but none seemed to celebrate the achievement. The only thing on both their minds is you.
“If no one knew they were together,” Ten is mumbling as he rocks back and forth on the floor. “Then who?”
“We still don’t know why they arrested him. Let’s just relax.” Chungha says.
Suddenly the house phone is ringing. Once again everyone is looking around, but since you aren’t here to save them, Taeyong has to step up.
“Hello? Johnny is it you?”
The crew is looking on, eyes filled with fear as they trying their hardest to hear their friend on the other line.
“What is that going to do Johnny? We won’t be able to see an earring falling from that distance.”
The line dies, and so does the hope of everyone around the room.
“What did he say?” Ten stands.
“He wants us to go to the library and look at the survaliance cameras.”
“So they arrested him because of a fucking earring?”
“A fucking earring!” Taeyong smacks the wall, hand not even feeling the pain because he’s that angry. Was it really that easy?
“Even if we can’t find any proof of his earring being at the library, I have the proof that he was at my house last night. I have all the messages and time stamps of it all.”
“Okay. So we need to split up.”
“Me and Chungha will go to the police station.” Ten is already moving to put on his coat—protection from the cold weather.
“And I’ll text Y/N. I guess we let her decide which one she wants to handle.” Chungha adds, dragging her phone out.
So that left Taeyong and Momo—together. It’s obvious neither of them want to do it, but they have to.
“Okay.” They say in unison.
“Go.”
Your voice is barely audible as you grip the steering wheel tightly. God, you were never the type to put your hands on your significant other, but you were so angry. Even so, you’ll always keep your hands to yourself. Irene obviously couldn’t relate.
“Let me say sorry.” Irene pleads from the other side. Her hands are on your elbow now, clearly trying to soothe you into forgiving her. Your silence tells her she can speak. “I really don’t know what got into me. You know I love you, and you know that I would never want to hurt you. You just hurt my feelings and that’s how I reacted.”
“That’s your apology? Blaming me?”
“No.” She takes a deep breath. Her hair falls infront of her face, but even so, you can’t help but to admire her beautiful features. Why was she so good at this? “I was jealous.” She confesses. “First, I heard you and Momo talking, and I felt a connection. It was something there and it made me upset.”
“Me and Momo are friends.”
“I know!” She squeals. “I’m stupid, and don’t deserve you, and all of those things. My past just got in the way and it just happened.”
“Your past? What are you talking about?”
“I...I got abused as a child.”
That word is a trigger word for you. You had never went through it, but you knew plenty of people that did. And they always went untreated, hoping that it would just go away; the pain.
“What...” you trail off, taking her hand. “Why didn’t you tell me that?”
“Why didn’t you tell me that Taeyong cheated on you?”
“What the fuck does one thing have to do with another? You know what—get out.”
You don’t know where all this anger is stemming from. Maybe because you were never attracted to the jealous type. Or maybe because none of this was making sense.
“I just told you I was abused as a child, and you’re kicking me out?” Her voice cracks as she speaks.
You know you need to go. You had been sitting here for way too long, and the more that time passes, the more likely Johnny is to get convicted.
“I’m sorry.” Your voice is genuine, and your hands is gently grabbing her chin. She’s crying now, and you do feel horrible. “Come here.” You prompt, pressing your lips against hers softly. The two of you stay this way until you feel her groping you in the places that usually made you hot and nervous, but you didn’t want it right now. You pull away. “I have to go.”
“No.” She pouts. “Please.” She knows she’s being selfish, but she doesn’t care. Johnny deserved to rot in prison after what he did to you. I mean, it was his fault that you and Taeyong broke up in the first place. The reason why you were so damaged.
The car ride there is silent. Even as the two of them walk into the library, it’s awkward.
“Where should we start.” Taeyong finally speaks up, trying to clean up the air. He doesn’t know why Momo hates him so much. I mean, Chungha hates him too, but not this much. It had crossed his mind that maybe Momo had some unspoken feelings for you, or maybe even for him, but he never had to deal with it before. He could always just brush it under the rug.
“I guess we tell the owner that we’re investigating a case? Like unofficially?”
“Will that even work? I mean, we’re not the police.”
Taeyong opens the door for her, and the ringing is soothing. As always, the large study hall is peaceful, and the same girls are sitting at the tables preparing for whatever big test was coming their way.
“Welcome.” The receptionist whispers. “Mr. Lee.” She bows from her seat.
“Good morning.” He bows back, before placing shaky hands on the desk. “May I ask for a favor?”
She eyes him carefully—seemingly used to his antics, but not his tone. He was a regular here; all of you were. “What is it?”
“We want to look at the cameras.” He pleads with his eyes.
“The cameras? Why?”
“It’s a long story.”
“That you need to tell me if you want to look at my cameras.”
So the two of them explain everything. They watch as her face goes from inquisitive, to horror. Taeyong and Johnny especially weren’t her favorite people to walk in here, especially with their rowdy nature, but she could never believe this.
“He didn’t murder his girlfriend ma’am. I know you know that.”
“If you go to the police, you have to pretend you didn’t look at these okay? You don’t work here therefore you’re not authorized to do their job for them, and that could make Johnny’s situation worse.
“Got it.” They both say. Taeyong can’t help but to stick his fist out to Momo. “We make a pretty good team.” He whispers so only she can hear.
“Agreed.” It wasn’t the best response she had, but it was a step. And a step could take you farther than you think.
The room is old fashioned, as expected. The tv’s are box shaped, and the owner is leading the two of them to a Dell laptop that sat on a foldable table.
“Now you guys are going to have to figure this part out. I usually get the younger kids to work this for me when I’m trying to see who left food on my tables. Never for a murder.”
“Taeyong can do it. He’s good with this stuff.” Momo encourages, patting him on the back.
He takes the lead, sitting in the leather chair made for this occasion, and he’s search for the day. February 17, 2020.
He fast forwards to when him and Johnny walk in. He doesn’t feel it, but a bead of sweat drops from his forehead and onto the keys. That’s how high pressure this was for him.
He sees the two of them sit down. He sees them chatting. He remembers it all to the T. Him complaining about Irene, Johnny talking about Cierra, and all of the disgusting positions he put her in. He sees himself covering his ears from the stories, and this is the part. They both get up, realizing they had drunk all of their coffee. They go to the bathroom first, and then to the refill station.
“Can you zoom in?” Momo questions.
Taeyong does what he can, but even so, it becomes too pixelated.
“Shit!” He sighs, and his head hits the keys too hard. The video is moving ahead, and Momo quickly grabs him by his locks to prevent further damage.
“Watch your mouth!” The owner warns. The cross on her neck should’ve been a giveaway that she didn’t want to hear that kind of talk, but he didn’t care. He hated to fail. “I’m sorry. We tried.”
“Wait wait...” Momo trails off. The library is now empty, minus one person. She has a black bob, as well as the Seoul Performing Arts yellow uniform. She’s looking around slowly, before she goes to where Johnny and Taeyong were sitting hours before. “What the—
“She’s picking something up.” Taeyong trembles.
“And look at the way she’s picking it up.”
“She has gloves on!” Taeyong raises.
“Zoom in.” The owner requests. It’s barely visible, but it’s still so clear.
“That’s his earring.” Taeyong confirms.
“Are you sure?”
“I bought them. I know it.”
“Then who the hell is this? Sorry.” Momo apologizes before she can get scolded.
“You keep a list of everyone that has checked in, right?” Taeyong is standing now as if he already knows the answer.
“I—I do.” And now she’s scrambling and on edge. She pulls the book out easily, as this incident was so recent. She flips to the last page, which reads the final name.
Bae Joohyun
“I appreciate the fact that you’re trying to help your friend, but you need to let the police do their job. Please.” The officer sighs.
“We have evidence proving that he was with me last night! He should be free!”
“And we took the evidence, okay? As stated for the past 30 minutes, we’re looking at it. He hasn’t been put in any facility yet.”
“Yet.” Chungha huffs, grabbing her purse from the desk and throwing it over her shoulder. “Come on, Ten.”
He doesn’t want to leave. Something about this whole ordeal doesn’t feel right. But he follows her anyway.
“I guess Y/N decided to go with Taeyong.” Chungha is past annoyed right now. She knew it was nothing personal, but in this past month, she didn’t feel like your bestfriend. There used to be a time when you told her everything, talked to her everyday, always wanted her to be included in your plans. Now it was Irene that you ran to. The girl had seemed so sweet in the beginning, but she was getting jealous. She wanted her friend back.
“I’ll call her.” Ten sighs as he speed walks to car. The cold air is slapping the shit out of him, but he doesn’t have time to complain like he usually would. His finger is lingering over your contact before Taeyong’s number is popping up. “Hello?” He breathes out. “Please tell me you have good news. Fucking please.”
“So someone did pick up the earring.”
“A girl, skinny, black bob. She was in a uniform.”
“And you have a name?”
“Yes. We just wanted to wait for everyone to get here so we could all look together.”
“And as per usual, Y/N is too burried in Irene’s pussy to stay on task.” Chungha says, immediately regretting her words.
“Hey.” Taeyong defends. “I’m not happy about all the time she’s been spending with her either, but let’s not pretend like her not answering the phone is normal.”
“I agree, Taeyong.” Momo adds.
“Maybe she fell asleep?” Ten offers.
“How can you fall asleep at a time like this? You don’t fucking fall asleep!” Chungha yells.
“Everyone breathe! Damn!” Taeyong is getting hot now, hating all the animosity. “We won’t be able to figure anything out if we don’t work as a team.” He’s on his gaming computer as soon as he finishes his words, and he’s typing in the name.
Bae Joohyun. A million names are appearing.
“It’s a common korean name. It won’t be on the naked eye.” Ten reminds him.
He clicks on images, and a million girls pop up. Some young, some old, none looking capable of being a murderer.
“It has to be here. It has to be.” He mumbles to himself.
“Click on news.” Momo says.
“Why?”
“Just do it.”
He listens to her. The first article that comes up is a search for a missing girl in Korea—name Joohyun. “Killed one of her classmates and hasn’t been found since.” Taeyong reads.
“It’s dated 2006.” Chungha notices. “Click on it.”
The image that pops up is unreal.
“What the fuck.” They all mewl in harmony.
You don’t know where you are. You remember you pushing Irene off of you, telling her that you think the two of you need a break. You remember her trying to fight it, saying that she was the only one for you and that no one could have you. But everything after that is a blur.
Little by little, the memories come back to you. Johnny got arrested. You shoot up at the thought, but you can’t move. What the fuck? You think to yourself. Now you’re screeching trying to get out, but you can’t. You fall over to a dusty and cold floor, and your eyes are coming back into focus.
“Irene?” Your voice is frail as you speak. You know those curves too well. You know that hair color. What you don’t know, is the white dress that’s draped on her figure. “Irene, what the fuck happened! Answer me!” You scream. The tears are pricking at your eyes as you can’t believe what you’re hearing—seeing.
“Oh, baby.” She cooes. The knife in her hand is under your chin now, and you jump back from it. “I can’t believe you would say such a thing. First you want a break, and now you’re cursing at me? So rude.”
Your heart is in too much shock. This is too much to handle. That’s why your eyes are rolling in the back of your head, and you’re passing out.
“Check her location.” Momo doesn’t know what to feel. And it’s not because she’s confused. It’s because she can’t believe any of this. She knew Irene was a psychotic bitch the minute she met her, and she knew she was overly obsessed with you, but she has you now. And she heard all of your plans. She must have seen all of the text messages, indicating her legal name as the culprit. Fuck.
Chungha is scrambling now, her anxiety at all time high. She just doubted you—her bestfriend, and the whole time you’ve probably been getting tortured.
“Please be on, please be on.” Taeyong is praying to whatever God is listening. He had already lost you once, but if he lost you like this? He can’t imagine it.
“It’s on!” Chungha screeches. She makes sure that Taeyong has his pen and pad ready, before she speaks. “901 Reveluv Court!”
No one thinks any more. Taeyong doesn’t even close his tabs. They’re all running, practically trampling eachother. All a coincidence, but because of his job, Taeyong drives a van. They all hop inside and he’s pulling off abruptly.
You’re awaking again, hoping that everything you saw was a horrible nightmare. It wouldn’t be the first time you had such a terrifying vision, but it all felt too real, didn’t it?
It was very real, and you know that because of the pain in your wrists. She tightened the hold, and to your surprise there’s no tape over your mouth.
“Goodmorning sunshine.” Her voice is sweet, and her smile is bright. She’s sitting in a wooden chair infront of you, but you can’t admire her with the disgusting smell that’s radiating from the room.
“Why are you doing this?” You huff, feeling how dehydrated you are. You hadn’t eaten today, you barely slept last night—you were in no shape to break free from your captivity and handle her.
“You know, I think you should ask your friends that. This is all for them.”
You really don’t understand what’s going on. You’re trying to put every single possible scenario together and form a reason as to why you were here, but it doesn’t make sense.
“Irene, we’re together. I love you. You love me. This is so random.”
“They’ll be here soon.” She whispers into the horrid air. “Look, were going to be fine baby. I’m not going to actually hurt you. It’s them I want to hurt.”
“Them? Why?” You’re heaving in the chair, trying not to breathe but not having a choice at the same time.
“They want to break us up, Y/N. I mean, they’re the reason you even mentioned having a break anyway. One conversation with Momo, and you changed your view on me. We need to work on that, don’t you think?”
You decide on silence, as your mind is blank.
“Poor Cierra.” She trails off, tapping your chin. “You want to see something cool?” She doesn’t give you a chance to answer. She’s going into the white fridge that made the room vibrate, and she’s pulling something out. It’s skinny.
“Irene...”
“Look babe!” She’s dangling the finger covered in dry blood and pink nail polish.
“It was you?” You cry out. The guilt is raining all over your body as you put the story together. “Why would you do that!” You scream at her, and just like before, her hand is connecting to your face.
“Don’t yell at me! And stop crying. I told you I’m not going to kill you or hurt you. This is a trap so we can be together forever. We can get rid of them.”
There a million things you can say, but you’re not stupid. “Okay baby.”
The van is pulling up right on time. Taeyong could care less about his tires or the unkept grass touching his vehicle. Everyone is waiting for him to make the next move, and Ten jumps when he sees him opening his glove compartment.
“Is that a—
“Gun. Yes.” Taeyong assures. He pulls out another, handing it to Ten.
“I don’t—
“Figure it out.” Taeyong instructs.
“Do you know how to work that thing?” Momo asks.
“Better than you think.” Is all he says, cocking it back and opening the door. Ten mimicks his actions. “I’m going to go in and distract her, okay? The three of you know what to do.”
“Why do I feel like we’re in a fucking gang.” Chungha complains.
Taeyong is already gone. He knows how to do this. You never knock, especially in a neighborhood like this where everyone thought it was safe. He opens the door as quiet as possible, but even so it sqeaks a tad.
Shit, he thinks to himself, but he keeps going. He had seen the movies. The only place you could be was the basement that was strangely wide open for him to walk in. She’s trying to set him up. She wanted them to come.
Taeyong was always a people pleaser, so he wanders down the steps—making an entrance at the same time. He stuffs his piece in his jeans. “I’m fucking here Irene!” He yells. “Come and get some. I know you want some, baby.” He chuckles. She’s no where in sight, you are. His body shuts down before he pulls it together. He doesn’t want to look at you. Your face has a welt on it. She had put her filthy fucking hands on you.
“Y/N.” He whispers, but as he walks to you, your eyes are telling him to stop. You’re not shaking your head, you’re not screaming through the tape covering your mouth, he just knows you. That looks in your eyes told him someone was behind him. The bitch that had to pay.
As he turns around, a bat is swinging at him. She underestimated his quickness as he dodges it, but he underestimated her psycho. She’s spitting a mist into his face that makes everything blurry.
“Fucking idiot!” She screams. She’s moving to get a chair. She throws him it it, before removing the smooth metal from his pants and onto his head. “This is actually fucking perfect.” She heaves. Irene rips the tape from your lips, and you cry out.
“I’m sorry.” You say to him, not her. How dare you not apologize to her when you were causing her to work up a cold sweat?
“She killed Cierra.” He’s able to say.
“I know.” You sniffle. He’s trying to look at you, but you can’t look back. He was going to die, and it was all your fault.
“Isn’t this just sweet.” Irene cooes, stomping around in her wedding dress as if it was her lucky day. “You know, I wanted it to end like this, but I didn’t think I could do it. I thought you were smarter than that.” She shoves Taeyong’s head with the gun. “Any last words?”
Taeyong spits on her. He was always a wild boy.
“Did you spit on Layla like that? Hm?” She chuckles.
Layla was the girl Taeyong cheated on you with a few months back. Johnny was the one who encouraged him to do it. It all came back, even though you thought you were over it. She was everything you weren’t and wanted to be at the same time.
“I love you, Y/N.” Taeyong ignores. “I know no matter how mad you still are with me, rightfully so, you know that. Johnny isn’t here to speak for himself but he’s sorry too. You were perfect. It was me that was messed up.”
“I know.” You repeat, staring at the wall.
“Did Sungyung spit on you like that?” He mocks.
“How the fuck do you know about that?”
“Google, idiot.” Taeyong was always the sweetest boy ever, until you crossed his friends over. “Did your lover tell you that, huh Y/N? How her parents abused her? How she murdered her ex girlfriend after she tried to break up with her, and is a wanted fugitive in Korea? They think she’s missing.”
You’re silent. You don’t have anything to say. Nothing surprises you anymore.
Irene is about to do the worst. You can see it in her eyes. Taeyong can see it in her eyes. But as she pulls the trigger, Taeyong falls back in the chair, and Ten, Momo, and Chungha are coming behind her. Momo takes the gun, and the minute you see this, you stand up and move to Taeyong to pick him up with your foot.
“You can’t beat me!” Irene yells, tears pooling out of her eyes unexpectedly. “I’m supposed to win this time!”
The three rookies have to freeze as the sad tone in her voice, just enough time for her to take the gun. She pulls the trigger, but she doesn’t know on who.
It’s Chungha. No one knows where she’s shot, but she immediately drops to the ground from the heat. Another shot goes off, and Momo and Ten go to check themselves, but it’s Irene who’s going down this time.
The tall figure is standing in the middle of the stairs like a God, and his pistol is smoking.
“Johnny!” You all praise in unison. He’s running downstairs now, watching Irene carefully.
“Where did she get shot.” He looks at Chungha, who’s screeching from the floor.
“My leg!” She cries.
“Put her in the car. Now!” He yells. Ten and Momo follow instructions, doing their best to run her up the stairs as her blood drips everywhere.
“You’re not going to kill me, Johnny.” Irene cowers—blood coming from the middle of her wedding dress. He got her right where he wanted to, and she could barely stand. “Do you think Cierra would’ve wanted this, huh? Why don’t you just join her? Kill yourself you bastard!”
“You’re so pathetic! He yells. “You deserve every bit of this.” He shouts—shaking the whole basement. Before he can fire the gun though, you’re infront of him. Taeyong and you had mangled eachother out of your ropes seconds ago.
“Y/N what are you doing!” Taeyong screams.
But you ignore him. You snatch the gun from Johnny, giving Irene three clean shots in the head. She’s out like a light. There’s no way she survived that.
“Fuck you.” You tremble, feeling the tears about to erupt out of you.

✧ ☆⋆MGA SEASON 4 - #4040⋆☆ ✧
(ROUND 7 - Interview)
she’s dressed in her typical practise attire when she’s called into the room. in front of her were photocards of everyone in the competition. she looked up at one of the producers, who explains to her what she was going to be doing. she nods, taking her seat and keeping her eyes focused on the cards.
“it’s like a pokemon game but with all of us,” she remarks, amused with how they were laid out in a neat fashion. though she wasn’t the first in the room, the cards were obscenely straight. almost as if one of the producers was particularly anal about keeping them neat after a contestant messed with them.
who, in your opinion, is the best singer?
she immediately smiles, reaching for junhoe’s photocard. “my other half,” she says proudly with a smile as she displays the card to the camera. chungha then laughs at her own ridiculousness. playing into the dumb game that mnet (and the viewers) think that they’re dating. “ah, but really, he is talented in singing. he’s good looking too and he has a stage presence that makes you want to keep watching him when he sings.” she contemplates for a second before pouting. “ah, really,” she mutters to herself. “i can’t find yongsun-ssi!” the producer points out the photocard with yongsun on it. chungha smiles. “yongsun-ssi -- i never got the chance to be on her team but she’s a strong female singer!” she puts it down and finds sungwoon to show as well. “you can tell that singing is sungwoon-ssi’s passion. he has great stage presence and he seems to be aware of his pitch vocally and has a lot of control. more people should be fans of him.”
who do you think is the best dancer?
“other than me?” she responds quickly with a smirk. she grins, waving her hand. she quickly compiles photocards of her friends: yoongi, somi, and doyeon “you should have known i would have picked my friends! most of us are dancers. that’s why we get along.” she picks up bora’s photocard. “bora-ssi is a strong dancer as well. she’s been doing this for a long time, hasn’t she? you can tell. it shows with how cleanly she dances. she’s always on count.” she picks up jonghyun’s card as well. “i feel like he’s the best of everyone. better than me, better than bora-ssi, better than everyone. i feel like not many will pick him because he’s not as ‘popular’. but he’s really the one to look out for.”
finally, who is the best rapper?
her hands zero in on taehyung immediately. there’s no hesitation in her choice. there’s no playful choosing-of-her-friends-first then giving her real answers. her choice is taehyung and him alone. “taehyung,” she mentions him informally, as she knows that she’s older than him and they did become good friends. “is very, very good at what he does. he’s my friend and i’m glad to have met him through this competition but it’s clear that rapping is his craft. he may not be a good dancer,” she laughs here, “but he seriously has some skill when it comes to rapping. trc is crazy if they don’t sign him,”
who do you think will win the mgas?
“i want to be completely honest with my answers here. it’s no secret that mnet has their choice in favourites when it comes to their survival shows. no matter what it is, it’s usually clear in the first few episodes who mnet favours. so if i’m being realistic,” she stresses the word. chungha knows netizens will have a ball with this one. they’ll either say she’s jealous because of them (untrue) or they’ll agree with her and call out mnet for blatant favourtism as always. “mnets favourites from this season will win. one of them will. either hyuna-ssi or junmyeon-ssi will. because they’re the clear favourites from both mnet and many netizens. hyuna-ssi is a returning contestant. she was a trainee for a long time and did another survival show. so in skill, she’s strong so if she wins, i feel as if she’d be more than deserving of it. but even so, you can tell mnet is banking on her appearances.”
“as for junmyeon-ssi ... he is really talented. do not get me wrong, he has a lot of charisma and is a talented singer but from day one, he’s been in the same team -- team a -- without moving or being switched and he’s been given a lot of screen time. you can tell that mnet really likes him.” she nods. “i wouldn’t be surprised if either of them win but at least it’s not as if they’d be undeserving of first place. they’re both talented. and i wish them both the best.”

✧ ☆⋆MGA SEASON 4 - #4040⋆☆ ✧
(ROUND 8 - Senior Songs)
✧ why so lonely - wonder girls h.a.m (line distribution)
✧ outfit
✧ hair & makeup
✧ featuring: Wonder Child: @rkxsua @jinsoulrk @irenerk @rkchangmin
she was here out of sheer determination. it hurt to see so many of her friends gone, both old and new, but she had to keep going. she tries not to think about of all of her friends, only somi and doyeon remain (plus some new ones she’s recently made in the competition).
there’s no surprise that the fight between sana and herself is kept in. she’s not sure how the public will receive it but considering she’s been getting dragged over dating someone (and she’s not even an idol), she figures this wouldn’t bode well. it would only sully her image further.
in all, she isn’t thrilled with the concept of a high touch. somehow her recent track record had shattered that actual nice image she had going for her so far. no one cared about her talent once it was assumed that she had a boyfriend. she became nothing more than an entity tied to a fictitious relationship. it was sad but that’s how it was. even if she did a back tuck into a split, all of the comments would just talk about how fucking annoying or overplayed she (somehow) was because she was “dating junhoe”.
since she and yugyeom broke up, their group chat where they’d laugh about the comments and articles talking about her relationship together. dealing with this alone kind of fucking sucked. it was sexist (she faced the brunt of the negative comments because she was a girl) and insulting. she only expects the high touch to go terribly. for now, she was going to focus on making her performance worth while.
her new group was consisted in what she can only imagine to be left overs. by the time she had chosen a song to perform, it was clear what type of vibes everyone was going for. no one had picked h.a.m’s song despite being well respected seniors in the industry (and every single member going on to have successful solo careers). that’s perfectly fine with chungha. she could do the rendition justice by putting true enthusiasm into the performance.
being paired up with bora was exciting though. the other hot number in the mgas (she figures bora is number one now, now that hyuna has been booted off the show). maybe it’s a little bit of a blessing. maybe finally finally some god above will have mercy on chungha and let her win first place. if there was one thing that she wanted was to be able to say that she got first at least one time on this god forsaken show.
the group was discussing ages as to understand how to address one another. chungha was surprised to discover that bora was younger than she was. it made her feel a century old. the real shock came when jinsoul revealed herself to be a ‘00 liner. chungha’s eyes widened in shock. “really?” she exclaimed. “i thought you were near my age at least.” it was clear that she wasn’t the only one who felt the same. chungha turned her attention to changmin, who was the maknae of the group being a ‘01 liner. “you guys make me feel old.”
changmin tried to help by saying she wasn’t that old. she laughed. “ah, i feel my skin wrinkling just from you saying that!” she joked. she knew she wasn’t that old by general standards but in the industry, she may as well be considered a maiden at this age. she turns to irene, waiting for her to share her age. and it turns out that irene was a year older. oh thank god, she thinks to herself. for once she wasn’t the eldest in the damn group but it meant that irene was.
“don’t worry,” she tells the elder. “women age like fine wine. and you’re very fine, unnie.” she winks and laughs, reaching to playfully squeeze the other’s hand.
it’s not hard to adjust the formations to suit five members. with the way the current formations were made it seem like they were better tailored for an odd number group. it was just a matter of making whomever was singing centre. it made things move a lot more smoothly for them. line distribution wasn’t difficult either. it was clear that bora was getting the rap. jinsoul and chungha were the strongest singers of the group. changmin and joohyun would split the lines that were not miyu and sujin’s.
while practising, jinsoul let her know that she knew a good technique to make her singing stronger. “ah, teach me your secrets,” chungha says to the younger one. when jinsoul reveals that it was singing while planking, chungha’s demeanor changes. “planking? are you crazy?” she chuckles in slight disbelief. maybe it would seem less extreme if this was actually a vocally challenging song. but it wasn’t. for the most part the song was extremely easy.
jinsoul seemed serious about the technique though. even if chungha thought it was kind of crazy, she couldn’t say no and hurt her feelings. she got into position with a sigh. all singers had their crazy methods. it made her abs hurt but she supposed she could see why this helped. it forced you to be smarter with your breath control. doesn’t mean that chungha would make this a habit going forward. she was sure to tell jinsoul that her crazy planking idea maybe wasn’t so extreme as she thought.
“chunghaha noona!”
chungha’s head pops up, almost confused with how she was addressed. the confusion shows on her face. the confusion turns into amusement once chungha catches onto the new affectionate name. he calls for her attention one more time. when he says, “chunghaha noona”, she’s actually ready with a response.
“bless you.”
she smiles after she says it. the joke catches changmin off guard but they both get a good giggle out of it. it was a weird nickname. it was a first. eventually she’d grow used to it.
it turns out that he wanted help with his facial expressions while performing. she felt kind of flattered that he was coming to her of all people. she definitely had more than enough time to spend with the younger.
”you know, you remind me of somi,” she tells him with a laugh. with the way they’re both hyper and youthful was like they were two sides of the same coin. it made her miss the younger but she was proud that somi could finish this competition on her own.
chungha took a good chunk out of her time to sit down with changmin and really go over the process of facials. she was sure how to stress how easy it was to overdo it and get negative reviews. they both sat in front of the mirror some time just practising facials then practising while singing, then dancing. when changmin proved that he was capable of pulling it off, she was proud. she congratulated him, reaching out to squish his cheeks. “you did so well changminnie!”
when she and bora are alone, they get along surprisingly well. it was just easy how well they clicked and bonded over similar things. they had the same frustrations, similar previous experiences and current thoughts. it led to chungha feeling the most comfortable around bora. when they both came for late night practise, it wasn’t awkward. from the very first moment from when chungha jokingly told bora to call her unnie (and bora quickly complied with adorable aegyo), chungha knew that she was going to enjoy her time spent with bora.
chungha sits across from her, snacks in her lap after they decide to take a break from practise. they were talking about the competition so far and the evil editing mnet has done so far. “you know that junhoe and I aren’t dating, right?” it was the truth that needed to finally come to light. bora laughed in surprise but revealed that she’s actually not shocked that the dating thing was lit real.
”yeah, we never said we were. everyone just assumed and then crucified me because I had a boyfriend. we found it pathetic, honestly,” she confesses. but now that the group chat no longer existed, it was kind of empty and she was dealing with vicious ass comments by herself. “I feel like people hold that against me despite showing promise. who I’m dating shouldn’t have any bearing on my likability as a contestant. I’m not a trainee. I’m allowed to date if I want to.”
come time for the performance, chungha was more nervous about the hi touch event than actually doing why so lonely. it wasn’t a hard song by any means. chungha felt as if practises went without a hitch. it was the calmest, chillest song she’s performed so far in the mgas. though it was incredibly optimistic of her, she was hoping that doing this performance would show her diversity as a contestant.
jinsoul opens them up for the song. she had good and stable vocals for the song. chungha was surprised she would be the other half of the main vocals for their team. since the competition she’s been using her singing a lot more than her rapping. she feels as though it’s been a bit of a forgotten skill of hers. no worries, though. she’s noticed that having to use her voice regularly again felt nice.
bora’s rap is strong and stable even live. she does have that kind of swagger that makes you pay attention to her while she performs. and chungha can’t help but meet bora’s eyes and smile at some point during their performance.
thank god her heels don’t snap this time and she’s not forced to dance barefoot. she’d cry if she’d have to relive that experience a second time — because she’s sure some netizen would rip her to shreds and say she’s doing it on purpose.
the end came smoothly from both jinsoul and herself. when the group got into their ending positions, chungha threw in one final wink to the camera. and just like that, the second to last performance of the mgas was over.
