If you're an evil scientist and you build a death ray, you don't need a control death ray that doesn't work. I feel like you people heard about control groups in pharmaceutical clinical studies and then just decided you knew everything you needed.
Most science experiments are done not against a control group but rather against the null hypothesis for which the control group is a stand in in the specific cases it applies to. The null hypothesis for a death beam is "It doesn't work" which you can disprove by turning your death beam on and deathing some people. There's no need for an undeathbeam'd control group for specific study, it either works or it doesn't and that's your publishable result.
#Like when they were doing the radiocarbon dating studies#They didn't put a bunch of artifacts around the place to not be counted and see how those ages compared#Because that doesn't make any fucking sense#Control group is a very specific subset of experimental design that does not apply to all of them!#There was actually one artifact they tested in the initial batch that was messed up and gave bad results#But they figured out that's because it was in fact a contemporary piece of wood from the era not a historical one#But it still wasn't a control group it was a weird outlier that had to be accounted for if the method was to be validated#They don't have a control LHC turned off sitting next to the normal one to see what particles come out of no particular interactions#That would be insane and also deeply explored already

Notice Me | LHC (M)
Friends to lovers
Summary: You and your friends go to a college party, and tonight is the night where you are finally going to try and catch your crush's attention, who also happens to be one of your good friends. He doesn't think that he thinks of you in that way, but what happens when he sees you with another guy at the party?
Warnings: sexual content, protected sex, auralism, guided masturbation (kinda), sensory deprivation, super vanilla, reader is legally blind (trust it's important 🙏🏾), long haired haechan, violence (minor fight scene), special appearances: Karina and Yunjin
Word count: 7,5k
Song recs: moment by Victoria Monet
A/N: wrote this on a random whim. Def not my best writing but oh well. Hope you guys like it. I will start working on request after this one I promise 🫶🏾 feedback is loved and appreciated
“Are you guys sure I don't look crazy?”
“Yes we're sure! Now let's go, we're already 45 minutes late and Mark is yelling at me in my messages!”
Karina grabbed your hand, pulling you into the frat house followed by your other best friend Yujin. A chill ran down your spine and also your legs, never having this much skin exposed. This was new to you– dressing in skimpy clothes and college parties. But that wasn't the only thing new to you. Having a crush is also very new.
The only reason you're even here is because of him. Haechan to be exact, who is a part of your friend group. He's the exact opposite of you– loud, cheerful, outgoing. But maybe that's why you like him so much. Opposites attract.
And that's why you're standing in the middle of the doorway, looking like a deer in headlights in the shortest skirt and tiniest top ever. Tonight was gonna be all about catching his attention. It was going to be about making him look at you like a woman and not a friend.
You walk through the crowd of people, their bodies constantly smashing yours. The constant bumping makes your glasses slide down your nose, making you fear that you may lose them. Most people think you're being dramatic when you say you can't see without them, but you're as blind as a bat.
Mark and Haechan soon come into view, standing in a circle with their other friends from the basketball team.
“But don't you guys remember- woah..” Mark turned his head, stopping mid sentence when he saw Karina, and Yujin walking towards them.
“Hey guys,” Yunjin said excitedly.
Everyone said their hellos, but you couldn't help but notice the way their eyes lingered on you, all except Haechan. He spared you one glance and one hello before going silent, sipping whatever it was in his cup. You felt yourself die inside, the way he was treating you like an acquaintance all of a sudden. Was it too much? Did you go too far?
“Sorry were we so late, it takes a long time getting ready,” Karina says, fixing her hair.
“I'm sure it did.” Mark is still eyeing you like you've said something weird. None of them has ever seen you like this. You're always pretty much covered up. Hoodies and leggings are your daily attire.
Mark turns his attention to you, scoffing in disbelief. “And look at you, walking in here looking like a sexy Velma.”
“Oh shut up, she looks good. Right Haechan, doesn't she look good,” Yujin inquires.
The male glances at you then back to Yujin then at Mark, whose brow is raised waiting for his answer. “You look…nice Y/N.”
Nice? That's it? “Thanks,” you say, hands glued to your sides.
Karina sighed, shaking her head at the dry response. “You guys suck at compliments,” she said. “Anyway, let's go get something to drink.” She took a hold of both Yujin and your hands, pulling you to the kitchen.
Eyes never left your figure since you walked in the building. There were other girls dressed just like you, but for some reason all attention remained on you, and you didn't like it. So used to being a background character in your own life, you'll never get used to attention.
“God you look hot, we did so good,” Yujin whispered to you, her voice slightly muffled because of the loud music.
“Do I? He didn't have much of a reaction,” you argued, a frown tugging at your lips.
“Everyone's been ogling at you all night, even Mark. You definitely look hot,” Karina reassures. “Besides, maybe you'll meet someone else here that you'll like. Haechan doesn't know what he's missing.”
“Yeah, honestly if he doesn't do anything tonight, you need to move on sister,” Yunjin adds. “Can't keep dwelling on the same guy for 3 years.”
But you don't want to move on. And if he rejects you, you know that you can't regardless. You'll still like him, because he's a good guy and always has been. There's probably nothing that could make you think anything less. Karina continued to pull you to the kitchen between the bodies when you suddenly bumped your shoulder into someone, causing them to drop something.
“Oh, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean-”
“It's no problem,” he said, a smirk tugging at his lips. “No big deal. It was just my phone.”
You didn't even notice you lost the hold of Karina’s hand at this point, your attention being on the man in front of you. “D-did it break? I'll pay for it.”
“No, it's doing just fine,” he said, placing the phone in his pocket without sparing a glance. He eyed you up and down, his gaze undressing you right in front of him. “What's your name?”
“Y/N,” you answered, gulping slightly out of nervousness. “Yours?”
“Johnny.” Licking his lips, he narrows his eyes slightly while speaking to you. “You new around here? I've never seen you on campus before.”
“Well, I actually don't go here,” you say, words leaving your mouth a little too fast. “I have a couple of friends that do. They invited me to this party.”
“Cool,” he said. “Can I… get you a drink?”
Your eyes widened, a bit taken back by the sudden request, but you didn't disapprove of it at all. Johnny was cute, tall, had a nice voice and seemed like a nice guy. So why not take the offer? “Yeah, sure. That would be great.”
-
“Man, he sure is chatting her up,” Mark remarks, watching you and the unknown guy stand and talk while sipping on your drink.
“How can he not? She looks great tonight,” Yunjin comments. “Doesn't she Haechan?”
Haechan furrows his brows, side eyeing her as he man-spreads on the couch they're all sitting on. “Why me specifically?”
“Why not?” Yunjin shrugs.
Haechan rolls his eyes, looking down at his lap trying to focus on anything but the scene in front of him, but he can't help it. You did look good, you looked great. But for some reason he couldn't say it. His stiffness towards you when you came in was because of how different you looked. Haechan wouldn't say he had a crush on you , more so complicated feelings. He didn't yearn for you, but he wouldn't hate it if something sprung from your friendship.
Haechan knows that his female friends are attractive. Guys always talk about Karina and Yunjin, telling him that he should pursue them or sleep with them, that he's wasting his time being friends. He's never looked at them in that way, but with you it's a different story. You're easy to talk to, and you have lots in common with him. He also loves your glasses. It's something you don't like about yourself, but he thinks they make you look pretty. You've always been pretty to him, probably his exact type on paper. Someone who's smart, calm, a bit of a homebody, true to themselves.
But disregarding any of that, he didn't have a crush on you. He wasn't into you in that way, despite what everyone else in the friend group thinks. His eyes narrow watching you cross your arms, throwing your head back while laughing at something. “So funny,” he mumbled.
“You said something,” Yunjin asked.
“No.”
“Sure… you know, if you like her you should-”
“I don't like her. We are just friends,” he cuts her off.
Yunjin sighs, making her head. “Haechan you are fooling no one but yourself. I'll let you in on a little secret. Y/N has a crush on you,” she says, hoping that would help him open his eyes.
Haechan stays silent, expression remaining stoic and straight as he stares directly at the male putting his hand on your hip. That's when he feels a slight sting in his chest. The small ping of jealousy.
“How would you know that,” he says after a few beats of silence between them.
“Why do you think she dressed up tonight? God, use your brain.”
Before Haechan could respond, he watched as someone walked past you, bumping you on the shoulder. He watched as the drink fell out of your hand, almost like a cliche movie.
The liquid splashed all over the guy’s chest, but he didn't seem too upset. In fact, he looked happy to Haechan, especially when you dabbed the paper towels all over his chest
“God, I am so sorry,” he heard you say panicked. Just as soon as you thought you were done panicking someone else walked beside you, bumping you in the shoulder. You must've been getting bumped all night because your glasses fell.
“Shit,” you said. You dropped to your knees, feeling around the floor for your frames. “I-Im sorry can you please-”
You look up at Johnny, but you see nothing but a flash in your face. “J-Johnny?”
“God, has anyone ever seen you like this,” he laughed softly. “You're so hot, I could just-”
You heard a loud smack above you, followed by gasp and tons of commotion.
“What the fuck? Who the fuck are you,” you heard Johnny yell.
“She's looking for her glasses. Aren't you gonna help,” you heard a voice similar to Haechan say.
Johnny laughed, scoffing at the guy you couldn't see. “Is she your girl or something? You should keep her on a leash before I take her to my place and show her what a good time is.”
“Excuse me,” the other guy grumbled. You were still searching for your glasses, but from what you could tell, a group started to form around the 2 guys and yourself
“You heard me. Get your bitch or-”
A loud sound was heard coupled with oh’s and ah’s from the crowd.
You heard another sound. This time, it sounded like a punch. There was a fight happening, and you were on the ground still looking for your glasses. Just as you reached in another direction on the floor, you felt hands pull your body up.
“What the fuck was he thinking,” you hear Karina groan. She turned your body, placing your glasses back on your face. For the first time in a minute you can see, and you do not like what you see.
Haechan and Mark were currently trying to fight Johnny and his two friends. “What is going on? Why is everyone fighting all of a sudden?”
“Let's just get away from all this, and we'll tell you.”
You were pulled away, Karina and Yujin dragging you outside to the driveway away from the loudness of the party. “So what exactly is going on?”
“Okay, so basically-” Karina started to speak, but Yujin cut her off quickly.
“Everyone was watching you and that guy hit it off the whole time, but Haechan looked like he was gonna kill someone. So I said, you know if you like her you should tell her. And he was like I don't like her , we're just friends. Then he saw you trying to clean off that guy's shirt. Then your glasses fell and you got on the ground and-”
“I'm sorry, but what does that have anything to do with what just happened in there,” you say exasperated.
“Well when your glasses fell and you got down to look for them your-”
“Oh my God.” Karina looked at her phone shocked. You and Yunjin stood next to her to see the screen, and was immediately horrified. 6 different people recorded and took pictures of you looking for your glasses on the floor. Every post had people calling you names ranging from desperate to slut. You didn't realize at the time, but almost your entire ass was out, and your cleavage could be seen clearly.
“Fuck,” you groaned. “i'm going to kill myself.” You placed your face in your hands, covering the embarrassed expression.
“Yeah,” Yunjin said, lips pursed right after. “That's what happened.”
“Why did you guys let me do that” you whined.
“We were on the couch, surprised. We thought you were trying to seduce the guy, but then we saw him pull his phone out and everything went to hell,” she explains.
At this point you're pacing the driveway, trying to figure what to do about the party, the post, Johnny, Haechan, everyone. “Well now we have to leave,” you said. “We've been here for less than 2 hours and we have to leave.”
“Okay, well let me call them,” Yujin said. Just as she pulled out her phone, a voice was heard behind her.
“No need,” Mark said, making his presence known.
The three of you turned back to see them with their clothes messed up, cuts and bruises on their faces, and tired.
“Oh my God,” Karina says with her hand over her mouth. “Are you guys okay?”
“We're fine…well I'm fine. He's a bit..”
You look over at Haechan who's standing there with his hands in his pockets. You don't know what came over you, but you took a couple of steps towards him, anger filling your mind.
“Why would you do that,” you said. Your voice startled him, making him look up from the ground.
“Y/N I-”
“I had no idea what was going on, and you two getting into a fight scares me to death,” you told him. “How did you even get all the cuts on your faces?”
“Him and his friends had rings and stuff on,” he mumbled, shrugging. “Shit happens.”
There weren't many times Haechan has seen you upset. The last time you were this mad was when Mark accidentally deleted your essay from your laptop doing his homework.
“We have to leave right now,” you sighed, arms folded at your chest. “I won't know what to do if you get into another fight and you're already hurt like this.”
Without thinking, your hands reach up to his face, taking his chin between your fingers as you check his face for any other injuries that you can't see. Haechan thought he was crazy when the butterflies erupted in his stomach, but they erupted again when you looked at him with pity, like you cared about him. He hadn't felt that way in a long time. Getting attention from girls came easy to him, but none of the girls he's dealt with made him feel the way you do.
“I'll um..I'll get an Uber for us-”
“No I'll get it,” you said. “We're going back to my house, you can't take care of all these by yourself.”
There it was, more butterflies.
“We'll go back to Mark’s and help him out,” Karina said, side eyeing Yunjin.
Yunjin quickly nodded, picking up the message Karina was sending. “Yep! Absolutely! We'll see you tomorrow!”
“What? I don't need help. I'm a grown man,” he whined. Karina and Yunjin nudged Mark who didn't seem to understand what was going on, making the man look at them confused.
“Grown men don't get into fights at parties,” you snap. “We'll see you guys tomorrow.”
-
“Wait in the bathroom. I'm going to change super quickly.” You shut your door behind you, locking it before kicking your shoes off. Before walking to your room, you turn to Haechan who looks as stiff as wood. “You look uncomfortable.”
Haechan watched as you walked away from him, going to your kitchen instead of your room. You grabbed a mug, filling it with water. He's never been so uncomfortable with you, but right now he feels like he could explode. You look so good in your current outfit, the way your hips sway when you walk, the way the shirt hugs your chest. He feels like he shouldn't be looking at you like this, but he feels like he's the only one who should be allowed.
“Here.” You hand him the mug, looking at him in the eyes like usual.
Haechan gulps, forcing himself to stop, keeping his eyes on yours and not let the travel any further. “Thanks,” he says, taking it out of your hands.
“Take your shoes off and relax,” you say. “I'll meet you in the bathroom in 5 minutes.”
He watches you walk away, holding his breath until you shut the door behind you. “Fuck,” he sighs. The one thing he can't do is get hard standing at your front door. Haechan knows he wouldn't be able to explain that, let alone lie to you about it. The only thing he could do is sit in your bathroom like you asked, and wait for you to put normal clothes on.
But Haechan is only a man. When you walked into the bathroom with short shorts and a laced lined camisole, the only thing he could do was pray for his presumed innocence. Pray that he didn't make a fool of himself in your house.
You reached up in your medicine cabinet taking out the pain meds and supplies for his injuries. It took you 10 seconds to get everything out, but for him it felt like 10 years. The way the fabric rose as you lifted your arms, watching you lean your hips on the edge of the counter giving him the smallest piece of your ass to stare at. And the way your nipples poked through the shirt– he was going to pass out right then and there.
There's nothing Haechan wanted more than to get behind you, feel up on your body. Whatever you were planning for the party worked because now he can't keep his mind off of you, and soon, it'll be his hands. To think you wore that outfit for him, he never would've guessed it.
“I can change if you need me to,” you said softly, startling him.
“N-no you don't need to change,” he said, watching you take two pills of pain meds out of the container.
“Take these.” You handed him the pills, watching him drink them down as you leaned on the counter. Haechan was sitting on the toilet seat, so the sight of him taking deep gulps with his eyes closed was a treat to say the least. You shouldn't be eyeing him like this, but God, was he attractive, even with bruises and cuts. “Are you feeling any better?”
“Gotta wait for them to kick in first,” he joked, but there was no smile on his face.
You grabbed an ointment for his bruises, opening it and squeezing some on your fingers. Haechan watched you as you tended to his wounds, concentrating on not trying to hurt him. He loved the way you would bite your lip whenever you were trying to concentrate, he always did.
The silence was comforting for a while, but then his thoughts got the best of him. Both of you actually. Your chest was in his face, his eyes wouldn't leave yours. The less talking there was, the more sexual tension filled the air, so you needed to get rid of it. But your mouth moves faster than your brain and for some reason, you felt it was the perfect moment to come clean about your intentions with him.
“I have something to confess,” you said softly.
“What is it?”
“I wore that outfit for you tonight,” you said, fixing your glasses on your nose bridge.
He smiled to himself, but you didn't see. “I have something to confess.”
“Hm,” you hummed.
“I already knew that.”
You let out a soft gasp, laughter soon following. “How did you know?”
“Yunjin,” he said simply. You let out a sigh, shaking your head making him chuckle softly.
“That girl can't keep a secret to save her life.” You moved on from his bruise, now tending to the scratches on his cheeks. Taking your fingers you apply the cream on the scratches, making him wince. “I only have a little bit left. This is why you shouldn't get in fights Mr. Lee.”
“Well, I..” he hesitated. “I fought for you.”
For a second you felt your heart drop. The guy you liked for 3 years fought for you, and you had absolutely nothing to say. “Thank you” was all you could manage. “But…why?”
“He was…an ass.” Memories of the guy recording you why you were down struck his brain, pissing him off all over again. “He was treating you like some kind of sexual fantasy. And I don't like that.”
You frowned, remembering that videos and pictures of yourself looking for your glasses are now circulating the Internet. “Yeah…”
“And I didn't like the way he was touching you,” he said, wincing at the feeling of you putting the bandage on.
“You sound like a protective father,” you joke, trying to lighten the mood. “I appreciate you for defending me, but there's no reason to get hurt while doing it.”
“But I want to,” he says, making you pause. “Y/N, I think I like you.”
“I-I..uh..” You wanted so badly to say you liked him too, but now you were nervous. Your face was beating up, fogging your glasses. Be cool, be normal. “T-thanks..”
“Thanks?” Haechan laughs softly. “That's what I get for fighting.”
“No, that's not what I meant! I meant-”
“I know what you meant, and it's fine,” he reassured you. “I think I liked you for a long time, just didn't know if you felt the same way.”
“How long is a long time to you?”
“A couple months,” he answered.
You sighed, a slight wave of disappointment filling your chest. “I wanted you for 3 years.”
Haechan's eyes widened slightly, brows shooting up hearing your words. “3 years? Why didn't you tell me?”
“Because I'm the kind of girl you befriend, not date,” you answered bitterly.
“That's not true.”
“All the girls you like are exactly like you. They're loud, adventurous, cool, hot, wear skimpy clothing,” you argued. “I'm just not your type.”
“Well that can't be true now, because it seems like you are exactly my type,” he stated.
“For now.” You started treating his last bit of scratches, scrunching your nose to keep your glasses from slipping again. “Why do you think I wore that outfit? I just wanted you to notice me.”
“But I noticed you. I do all the time,” he revealed.
“But it wasn't until tonight which made you realize that,” you added. And with that final comment, you finished tending to his wounds, placing the last bandage on his face. “I'm all done. If you wanna go home, I can-”
“No,” he said. Haechan placed his hands on the back of your thighs, his soft palms sending lightning through your body. “I'm staying here.”
You could barely think straight with him touching you, the hold on your legs just getting stronger and stronger, his thumbs pressing into your skin. That's when Haechan kisses up your clothed stomach softly and slowly, making your lashes and heart flutter as you watch him from above.
“Haechan, stop,” you sigh. “Y-you're not thinking straight.”
He stands up, his lanky figure looming over yours. You swear you feel dizzy the moment his cologne hits your nose. He pulls you closer, his pelvis on yours. You could feel his hard on sitting right on your aching cunt.
“I know you feel it,” he whispers. “I know you feel the tension here. And I know you feel how hard I am too.”
Gulping, you look away from him. This is everything you've fantasized about for the last 3 years, but something is telling you no. Something is telling you it's too good to be true. “Maybe..maybe we should wait.”
Haechan takes your chin in his bruised knuckles, lifting your chin to look at him, but all you can see are his pretty lips hovering over yours. “Are you sure you wanna wait? Because I'm not sure I can hold myself back for even a second.”
His free hand travels up your leg, his fingertips grazing the heat between your legs ever so slightly, teasing you even more. “You have no idea how pissed it made me feel seeing that guy touch and feel on you, knowing it should've been me.”
“That's why you fought him?”
The breathiness of your words almost made him spiral. You were breathing heavily, your chest pressed against his so turned on at every little thing he did.
“Mhm,” he mumbled. “Seeing you walk around in that tiny skirt knowing I couldn't have you..”
“You have me now..”
“You're right, I do.”
Haechan kisses you just as you imagined, soft and with care. He kept kissing you, each kiss making you feel high. His hands left your face and leg, grabbing a hold of your waist. You yelp, feeling your body be lifted onto the end of your sink, legs spread apart as he stands between them. His tongue entered your mouth, the kisses slowing down and lingering a bit.
Haechan places his hands on your sides, soon traveling to your chest. Hard nipples looking through the fabric, teasing him the whole time he's been in your house can finally be his. Haechan hooks his fingers on the bottom of your shirt, begging to pull it up when you grab his wrist, stopping him.
You pull away painfully slow, a strong of saliva still connecting your lips only for a second. “Can we go to my room?”
Haechan said nothing, just backing away from your body and pulling you off the counter. He pulled you to your room, still messy as always. He always loved your house, especially your room. Something about it felt like home. There's always little bits of you scattered throughout your space, whether it be homework, a brush, a mug, or even a sock. It doesn't matter how many times he comes over, it always feels the same.
But this time it felt a little different. He wasn't going to your room to hang out with the others, he was going to have sex with you. Going to make out with you, to be more than friends with you. This was going to change everything about your relationship with him, but it didn't matter right now. All that mattered was making you feel good.
Haechan sat on your bed looking up at you, mirroring his previous actions in your bathroom. You were more nervous than ever now with him sitting there expectantly. Fixing your glasses, you placed your hand on his shoulder, climbing on his body to straddle him.
“Can I take your top off,” his whispered peppering soft kisses down your neck.
You nod, giving him permission. Haechan hooks his fingers on the hem of your top, lifting the fabric off your body. He feels like he's 16 again, like this is his first time seeing a woman's chest, except it's yours, which is much more important. He starts kissing you slow, his hands naturally finding their way to your chest. You shuddered at the way his cold palms molded your breasts, shaky breaths leaving your mouth and into his every once in a while.
Haechan started kissing down your jaw, then to your neck, making tilt your head to give him more access. His hands leave your chest for a bit, placing them on your back pulling you closer to his body. Your nipples touch the cold of the print on his graphic tee, stimulating you more while he leaves wet messy kisses all over your skin.
He kisses lower and lower, lips now pressing against the top of your breast. You look down at him, the most dreamy expression ever when his eyes meet your framed ones. You look so cute in them, but still the sexist person he'd ever seen in glasses.
You let out a soft moan feeling his tongue swipe against your nipples, the feeling being foreign after being on such a long dry spell. He licks the stiffened peak again, then sucking it while staring up at you.
“So pretty,” he whispers on your skin.
You're soaking at this point, his touch and voice bewitching you. Haechan holds you tight, sucking your nipples softly. His eyes hung low, the stare making you squirm. You watched as his brows furrowed hearing your soft whines, his hand gripping the fabric on your hip. He releases your breast from his mouth with a soft pop, the cold air hitting the wet peak making you shiver.
“Do you think of me when you touch yourself?”
Your eyes dart to his face, glasses slipping down your nose bit by bit. “I..”
Haechan smirks, his soft lips kissing your chest once again while his hands roam your body. “I know you do,” he whispers. “You're the most obvious person I know.”
Haechan slips his hands to your lower back, his fingers dipping lower and lower into your shorts. He can't help himself, squeezing the flesh in his hands like a stress ball making you push into his palms more.
“I want you to show me,” he says, words muffled in your neck while he kisses it.
“S-show you,” you question.
“I want you to show me what you do when you make yourself feel good,” he adds. “Is that okay?”
You were intoxicated in your home and he's barely touched you yet, but his voice and eyes did something else to you. You needed more. You nodded, lips parting slightly when he takes his hands out your shorts.
“Stand up.”
You remove your leg from his side, removing yourself from his lap. Haechan stood up, body so close to yours you could feel the heat emitting off of him. He tugged at the bottom of his shirt, lips curling into a small smile. “Wanna help?”
You nodded slowly, hands lifting his shirt above his head. His eyes disappeared behind the fabric but once it was off him, they connected with yours once again, making your core clench around nothing. You tossed his shirt on the floor, eyes trailing down his soft but toned body. You've seen him shirtless plenty of times but this was different. This felt different.
Haechan's gaze lingered on you as he unhooked his belt, the sound of the metal clinging sending a shiver down your spine. He let them fall, showcasing black underwear to you. Haechan leans down, kissing you softly as he steps out of the pool of fabric, groaning in your mouth softly when your chest touches his.
“Now,” he says softly, pulling away from you. Taking your hand, he pulls you to the side of your bed, climbing onto the mattress. Haechan plops down, leaning his head on your headboard in the dreamiest way possible. “I need those off” – he points to your shorts – “and you right here.” He pays the spot between his legs.
Your fingers dig into your waistline, hesitating for what feels like an eternity. Your heart was beating rapidly, with every second feeling like years. Haechan watched you pull the last piece of decency off your body, soaking in every bit of bare skin he laid his eyes on. He needed to feel you, touch you, eat you. But first he wanted to see you.
Climbing on the bed, he sensed how anxious you were, wrapping his arms around your body once you settled between his legs. And just like that, you were like putty in his hands, immediately melting in his touch letting him run his hands all over your skin, groping at you wherever he liked.
“Spread those legs for me pretty,” he said into your ear, smiling when you obeyed. His fingertips trail lines in your hips, soon moving down your legs. He could barely control himself, hands moving closer and closer to your soaked core, the actions making you bring your knees together.
“Shit,” you mumbled, face hot as you witnessed your glasses fog bit by bit.
“Do you always wear your glasses during sex” he asked, kissing behind your ear softly.
“Y-yes, why?”
“I want you to take them off for me.” Haechan laughs to himself softly when you sit up, turning to him with a confused expression.
“But then I-I can't see,” you say, a slight whine in your voice.
“I'll do that for you.” Haechan removes the frames from your face gently, folding them and placing them on your lamp table. “I want you to focus on how you feel and what I say. Can you do that for me?”
His milky tone, the way his lips brushed on your earlobe, his soft touch between your thighs. You'd do anything he asks for in a heartbeat. “Y-yes.”
“Good girl,” he praises. “You know what to do.”
Haechan watched you start rubbing your clit slowly, biting his lip softly. His hands continued rubbing your thighs, soothing you as you leaned into his chest more. You feel his heavy breathing on your back, your lids going heavy once you insert two fingers inside.
Haechan was rock solid at the point, watching your fingers move in and out of you, the squelch your pussy made being music to his ears. “Fuck,” he mumbles in your ear.
You clench around your fingers to his voice, the breath tickling your ears making you squirm between him. Your eyes are closed, so you don't see the way he's looking beside you, watching the way your face twitches at every feeling or sound. His stomach flips when you gasp at the sudden feeling his hands on your chest, small moans escaping to the added pleasure.
“I love that sound,” he says, the sound of your pussy getting louder when you finger yourself faster.
“S-stop,” you stutter.
“Are you embarrassed,” he chuckles softly, nipping at your ear, not taking his eyes off the scene between your legs. You gulp and nod, a small whine spilling from your lips.
“God you're so cute.” Haechan removes one hand off your chest, creeping his fingers back between your legs. “Almost as cute as this pretty clit right here.”
“H-haechan..”
He started rubbing small, slow circles, your moans increasing in volume. You kept fingering yourself, but you needed more. You needed his cock, his mouth, his pretty hands. The thought of him finger fucking you till you came stimulated you, making your hips move on their own, grinding against his fingers.
“Tell me what you're thinking about.” He had pressure on his fingers making a whine leave you plump lips. “What do you want from me Y/N?”
“I..I want you Haechan,” you answer breathlessly. “I want you to make me cum.” Your hand pumps your hole faster, wetness coating your fingers running down your hands. His breath tickles your neck as he begins to grind on you. Eyes closed, head falling back on his shoulder, you let your hips move on their own. You're so close, the feeling of his chest rising on your back aiding to the pleasure throughout your body.
“I want you inside me,” you moan softly, brows furrowing.
“How bad,” he teased, a smile on his lips. He rubbed your clit faster, starting to feel your legs shaking. Your moans increased, whines and whimpers freely falling from your lips. He knew you were going to cum.
“So, so bad,” you whispered. “I-Im gonna cum haechan..”
“Cum for me,” he whispered. “You're so pretty when you cum.”
You pumped your fingers harder and faster, the sound of your wet hole filling his ears. You came around your fingers, pussy squeezing tight on the digits inside you. Haechan kept rubbing your clit, the feeling of his fingers on the sensitive bud making you shiver on his shoulder.
“There you go Y/N,” he said softly, his other hand rubbing your thigh. “Let it out. God, you make the prettiest sounds.”
You pulled your fingers from between your legs, hand resting on your other thigh as you breathed heavily against his body. That's when you feel his hand take yours, bringing it to his mouth. Haechan wrapped his lips around your fingers, sucking your arousal off your fingers.
“Haechan,” you whined, hanging your head low in embarrassment. He chuckled, taking your face and turning it to him. He kisses you softly, the taste of your own cum on his lips. “I need you so bad,” you mumbled on his lips.
“Lay down for me okay?”
You nodded, lifting yourself from his body, allowing him to move from behind you. You reached for your glasses, putting them on, clearing your blurry vision. When you looked back up, Haechan was pulling his underwear off his body, hard on so big, it hit his stomach.
“Holy fuck,” you mumbled to yourself. He was big. Bigger than you imagined, and it makes you wonder where he was hiding it all this time under his skinny jeans.
“Staring isn't very polite, you know.”
His voice broke your thoughts, making your eyes snap back up to his face. Dark locks of hair fell in his eyes, that same teasing grin on his mouth. He looked like a dream– bruises and bangs on his face, knuckles red, but still hot. He crawled onto the bed, yanking your body lower on the bed by your ankles.
“You have some condoms,” he said, eyes scanning your naked body.
“I-In my drawer.” You point to your bedside table, eyes following him as he bends over you to open the drawer. You were practically drooling at this point, the thirstiest you've ever been and it was starting to become too real to be true. Haechan takes an unopened packet from the drawer, shutting it right after. Your eyes don't leave him as he sits back up and opens the plastic, a gulp going down your throat in anticipation.
“If at any point you wanna stop, just let me know,” he says, sliding the condoms on. Haechan watches your facial expressions and body language. You were excited, he could tell. But you were also the most nervous he's ever seen you. “Listen,” he says softly. His fingertips glide on the inner side of your thighs, hands pushing your legs up by the back of your knees. “I want you to look at me the whole time. Can you do that?”
The softness in the way he spoke felt a bit unfamiliar to you, you immediately softened nodding at his request. “Y-yeah.”
Haechan licks his lips, lining himself with you. A small gasp fell from your lips feeling his tip stretch you open. He pushed himself in a bit more, watching your face slowly contort silently. Haechan held your legs up to your chest, eyes never leaving the view of his dick disappearing between your legs.
“Fuck,” he sighed, the feeling of your tight pussy almost making him cum right then and there. He looks back up at your face, your eyes are closed, head resting on your pillow. Your glasses are crooked due to the position of your head, but it's sexy to him.
Haechan starts thrusting in you slowly, eyes shut as he moves taking in the feeling. But you keep looking at him. You keep staring at the way the muscles in his arms slightly flex, you stare at the way his chest moves after every deep breath he takes. He must've known you were staring because he opens his eyes, staring at you fucked out face.
“Youre.. you're so big,” you mumbled, voice shaky from the pleasure.
Haechan opens his eyes, staring down at you through his bangs as he thrusted deeper. “Keep saying things like that, and you'll boost my ego.” He snaps his hips into yours, his dick reaching further into you. Haechan speeds up his movements, his hands gripping your legs tighter, pushing them closer to your chest. You tried you best to look at him, but with every movement, you felt your vision go blurry with pleasure. Your moans and whimpers filled the room accompanied with his grunts and the sound of the bed.
Haechan lets go of your legs, letting himself fall onto your body. He held himself up, one hand on your hip and the other holding himself. You let your eyes close for one second, but Haechan is quick to slap your hip, making you open your eyes. You stare at him, raising your hand and fixing your glasses with your brows furrowed at the feeling of him inside you.
“Don't look away,” he moans softly. “Keep looking at me..keep those eyes on me.”
And you did, arms wrapping around his neck to pull him closer. Haechan lets out a small hiss feeling you squeeze around him.
“Faster,” you moaned shakily, breath tickling his nose. Haechan melts when your face twists in pleasure, brows scrunching with every moment.
“Fuck, right there,” you whimpers, pulling him closer. Haechan kisses you, you both moaning and grunting into each other's mouths.
“You like this Y/N? You like when I fuck you good,” he groans, on your mouth.
“Yes, yes.” You nod fast, eyes stuck in his as he plows you into the mattress. The sound of your skin colliding, bed creaking, moans filling the air over stimulated you along with his raspy voice, saying the dirtiest things in your ear.
He reaches up, removing your glasses from your face and throwing them somewhere on your bed. Too fucked out to even respond, you shut your eyes letting him bury his head in your neck, leaving wet kisses all over your skin.
“I'm so close,” you moaned, legs starting to shake on either side of him.
“Cum for me,” he grunts. “I want you to cum around my cock right now.” He reaches down between your bodies, fingers rubbing your clit fast. Haechan has had sex a million times, but nothing could compare to the way you felt squeezing around him. The way your moans rose in pitch when you came, the way you said his name.
“Haechan,” you whispered, nails pressing into the skin on his back. “Oh my God, fuck..”
He kept fucking you into the mattress, chasing his own high right after yours. “Just a little more baby, fuck..”
You opened your eyes, brows furrowed as you watched his body rise, hands grasping your waist tight. His thumbs pressed into your sides, holding your body close to his while he plowed into you. Even blurry, he was a dream to look at. His hair hung in his face, biting his lip as he chased his orgasm.
But better get, you looked like an angel underneath him. The sweat on your body, your face, hair, sounds. Perfect. His eyes followed your hand, watching them as one went to your nipple and the other went between your legs.
“Fuck,” he kissed. The tight feeling in his stomach started getting tighter. Haechan’s jaw dropped, brows scrunched as he came, a strangled moan escaping his throat.
Haechan stopped thrusting, pulling out of you after a couple of seconds. The both of you sat in the silence of heavy breathing, his hands still on your waist. You reached to grab your glasses, finding them on the blanket and putting them on lazily. That's when you look at Haechan, his blushed cheeks, sweat on his forehead, trying to catch his breath.
“Are you-”
“Can we-”
Both of you stop and look at each other. The air starts to feel heavy for some reason, the silence giving you time to think about what you were going to say. Can we go on a date?
You gulped at the way his eyes won't stop staring into yours. His lips part, eyes narrowing when he rubs his thumbs on your sides, soothing your very obvious nerves.
“Say it,” he says softly,
“Can we… be more than friends?”
You blinked, Haechan staring at you with a blank expression. Suddenly he began laughing, hanging his head low after you spoke.
“What,” you questioned, heart sinking into your stomach.
“Why did you ask me that,” he chuckled, grinning from ear to ear at you question.
You swallowed, expression hardening at his words. “Did I say something wrong?”
Haechan noticed the tremble in your words and immediately stopped laughing, realizing that you were very much serious. Haechan leaned down, his body on yours and head in your neck. He kissed your skin softly, one hand holding him up while the other caressed your skin.
You watch him, feeling yourself melting into his soft touch. His fingertips dragged along your abdomen, sending chills down your spine. “H-haechan,” you said softly. “Answer my question.”
Instead of answering you, he moved from your neck to your lips. He captured you in a soft, sweet kiss, turned deep and passionate. Something about the way he kisses you at the moment feels romantic, as if he's trying to communicate his feelings without speaking, but you need him to say it. You need him to speak to you.
Haechan pulled away from you, his eyes flickering between your eyes and lips. “Did that answer your question,” he said softly.
You shook your head, making him laugh softly. “Answer.”
He smiled, licking his lips before speaking. “I can be whatever you want me to be.”
“Well..” you paused before looking up at him, eyes staring into his soul. The silence felt like an eternity between you both, but it soon disappeared when you spoke.
“Can you be mine?”

More fun with Lazy Researcher Telephone leading to the circulation of completely false information:
A 1764 court document (re-discovered by Gwendolin Mildo Hall) is currently believed to be the oldest reference to gumbo (as in the okra-and-meat stew, not okra itself). Shane K. Bernard said in 2011 that Hall had mentioned the document in a lecture, but she presumably didn't give detailed information, since he ended up e-mailing her to get the actual citation.
She pointed him to the Louisiana Historical Center, who sent him a copy of the document in question, which he posted a small snippet from. You don't have to contact the LHC to get the full document--it's been digitised (look towards the bottom right of page 4/21 for the reference to "un gombeau"), along with other documents pertaining to the same court case.
That lecture wasn't the only place where Hall had elaborated. Earlier, in 2005, Hall had published Slavery and African Ethnicities in the Americas: Restoring the Links, which contains a passage talking about Comba / Julia, the woman whose testimony contains the reference to "gombeau" (Bernard didn't mention this book). She describes what led to the 1764 court proceedings--fugitive slave Louis dit Foy "had organized a cooperative network among slaves, runaways, thieves, seamstresses, and street vendors" and the group 'stole' food for their social gatherings. Hall says of two women who were members of this group:
Comba and Louison, both Mandingo women in their fifties, were vendors selling cakes and other goods along the streets of New Orleans. They maintained an active social life, organized feasts where they ate and drank very well, cooked gumbo filé and rice, roasted turkeys and chickens, barbecued pigs and fish, smoked tobacco and drank rum. (Slavery and African Ethnicities, University of North Carolina Press, 2005, p. 99)
Hall cites as the source of her information "Records of the Superior Council of Louisiana, May 6 and May 10, 1768, contract between Evan Jones of Pensacola and Durand Brothers; declaration by Captain Peter Hill. Records of the Superior Council of Louisiana, 1768.05.10.02, Louisiana Historical Center, New Orleans" (FN 36, p. 187).
It is unclear from Hall's text whether "gumbo filé" is specifically named or described in these court documents (if it is, I have not yet found it--and it also seems strange that Hall wouldn't have pointed Bernard to that location), or what other reason Hall might have for asserting this. It may just be an assumption of her's. As written, it sounds like the "gombeau" mentioned isn't even sure to be modern "gumbo" (as Bernard points out, a dish of stewed okra with butter was called "gumbo" at this time and later). Hall's research interests do not centre around food.
From this point, someone must have found Bernard's reference to this court document, and also found the paraphrasing of the case proceedings in Hall's book. They must have mentioned the court document without quoting or citing it; and they must have quoted the passage from Hall that I quoted above, also without citing it, and made it seem as though the Hall passage was in the court document. Whoever this unforgiveable bumbling can be traced back to, whether him or someone else, Lolis Eric Elie at least recreated it. In 2005, he wrote in a letter to the New York Times:
The first known printed reference to gumbo was made in reference to food eaten not by French immigrants, but by African maroons who had escaped slavery in Louisiana. This passage, from a 1764 court document, was uncovered by Gwendolyn Midlo Hall, author of "Africans in Colonial Louisiana": "Comba and Louison, both Mandingo women in their 50's [sic], were vendors selling cakes and other goods along the streets of New Orleans. They maintained an active social life, organized feasts where they ate and drank very well, cooked gumbo filé and rice, roasted turkeys and chickens, barbecued pigs and fish, smoked tobacco and drank rum."
And then someone must have read that letter and believed Elie that that paragraph of Hall's was in the 1764 court document (it doesn't exactly sound like the kind of language I would expect to have been written as a summary of court proceedings in 1764, but I suppose they didn't think to check...)
So now, as a result of all of this jumbling of assumptions with evidence, and unwillingness to track down actual primary sources (even when someone has already digitised and quoted and translated them for you!), you have people confidently asserting that "gumbo filé" was specifically mentioned for the first time in 1764.
For example, Jonathan Olivier, writing for The Bitter Southerner in 2021, writes:
Looking back further at the historical record, there is more evidence of distinctions between types of gumbo. The first recorded mention of gumbo is from a 1764 court document involving escaped enslaved Africans, found by historian Gwendolyn Midlo Hall [...]. “Comba and Louison, both Mandingo women in their 50s [sic], were vendors selling cakes and other goods along the streets of New Orleans. They maintained an active social life, organized feasts where they ate and drank very well, cooked gumbo filé and rice, roasted turkeys and chickens, barbecued pigs and fish, smoked tobacco and drank rum.” The entire term “gumbo filé” is mentioned, a deliberate effort to highlight a soup thickened with powdered sassafras, not okra.
Yes, Olivier, the term "gumbo filé" was mentioned... by Gwendolin Hall in 2005, not by Comba in 1764! What a mess! What an absolute disgrace of a mess. Lmao.

btw on the tangent of end of history ass bullshit I put my finger recently on why adapting Good Omens as a modern-day story bugs me
bc I Have Known. bc I was a comedy-fantasy afficianado in the 90s/early 2000s. that GO is one of many examples of a very specific genre of British comedy-scifi-fantasy popular in the 90s I would term "millennial apocalypse farce".
you know, they're a mix of biblical eschatology, Fortean Times conspiracy theory, cult tropes, and Y2K Rise of the Machines stuff, smashed together into an Adamsian comedy where a group of hapless protagonists bumble around while the world falls apart in comically overblown ways. imo, though a lot of authors bring their own spin to it, they're all heavily stylistically influenced specifically by Dirk Gently, which isn't Millennial Apocalypse Farce but I think did inspire a lot of it. Robert Rankin is on the edge of it, Good Omens is the most lasting example, but I read like 20 of these and most authors only wrote one afaict.
but the thing I was saying the other day is I honestly cannot think of a genre of popular English-language fiction that's more rooted in a specific time and culture. I tried for a while and really couldn't.
It just doesn't translate well away from the turn of the millennium, purely because the millennium was such a fevered touchpoint for Apocalypse Stuff. two things there I think.
Obviously, Y2K looming. Millennium Approaches. The turn of every century has often been accompanied by an uptick in interest in apocalypses and end times, but this was the BIGGIE. It's only happened on this calendar once before. People in the 1900s were talking about how close they were to a new millennium. The approaching millennium dominated the whole 20th century, and especially with how apocalyptic a lot of the 20th century felt in terms of war and technology, apocalyptic fervour really kicked up in the 90s. And there was a smorgasbord of apocalypses to choose from; divine, nuclear, digital, cosmic, alien, all stuff which on the millennial scale had really only just shown up in the last century or so. I was 7 in 2000 so pinch of salt but I remember all of us sort of holding our breath leading up to Jan 1 2000, not just bc of Y2K but bc it felt like something momentous HAD to happen.
The end of history. The cold war had subsided, and so had the economic depression of the 70s and 80s UK. There just was not a Singular Apocalypse hanging over a group of people who'd spent their whole lives in the shadow of a Singular Nuclear Apocalypse. I think stuff really rushed in to fill that gap, and Millennial Apocalypse Farce is a response to that sudden glut of possible apocalypses all clamouring for attention.
I think as well American end-of-days right-wing evangelism was really loud in the 80s-90s and that plays a part, cause the generally lefty and consciously self-effacing British comedy author milieu found that off-putting in a very mockable way
but the point is that glut of apocalypses was a real flash in the pan, the same way the End of History was. it was a like 10-15 year timespan where the world was definitely ending but nobody could say why or how, and it began around the fall of the Berlin Wall and ended on September 11, 2001.
Millennial Apocalypse Farce novels did keep coming out after 2001 but like everything else, the culture has changed really radically, and also, like, we were past the millennium. Those infinite possibilities of apocalypses hadn't paid off. Not saying that the public interest in apocalypse went away - 2012, obviously. The LHC. But the full on fervour for any and all crank apocalypses kind of petered off a bit bc the turn of the millennium was so much a flashpoint for it. and anyway we had really concrete apocalypses again - terrorism, totalitarian governments, plague, and of course the main 21st century apocalypse, Oh Shit We Really Fucked This Climate Change Thing Up.
and I really love the Millennial Apocalypse Farce genre. I really love stumbling on books in that genre. because it's such a time capsule for an incredibly specific period in recent cultural history.
but it does not translate into a 2020s setting. It's so 90s. it's so rooted in a really specific landscape of cultural anxieties and abstractions. it just doesn't make sense to me to translate it to the modern day, it's like setting Angels in America in 2023. it's just the wrong type of apocalypse. apocalypses are culturally generated and they change fast based on how a culture sees itself and the world. you can't pick up a 1990 apocalypse and put it unchanged in 2023, it's Wrong. if you're going to do that you have to be in conversation with it, you can't just update it.
like ok example of thoughtfully recontextualising an anachronistic apocalypse for a modern setting. War of the Worlds 2005. Why is it War of the Worlds? Because it wants to say some things about the relationship between post 9/11 America and colonial England, and how the specific common anxiety of invasion affects them as people in a nation of invaders. Idk if it's a good film cause I didn't like it when I watched it but that was a long time ago. But the intent makes sense.
what does putting a Millennial Apocalypse Farce in the 2020s actually. say? about the commonalities between now and then? I mean. Based on the TV show of Good Omens, to me, not a lot. It's pretty beat for beat in that sense, and we're not really far enough away from 1990 for it to have the obvious impacts that saying "now is very like then" does with, say, War of the Worlds, because the world of HG Wells was distant enough for a 2005 audience to go 'oh, Victorian colonialism, that's Not Like Us.' whereas like. I remember the 90s. It's not recent but it's in continuity with now. saying "then it's like now" is a) kind of Incorrect imo, the cultural anxieties are Very Different, and b) not...striking?
idk like. The genre is dated. The nature of that specific apocalypse idea is incredibly dated. And that's good actually. It's fine for art to be a time capsule of a specific cultural moment and to not make sense divorced from that moment. That's good! That's a good use of art!

INTRODUCTION
The Legacy History Challenge is a Sims 4 challenge based on the Legacy Challenge, History Challenge, and Ultimate Decades Challenge that takes your Founder Sim and descendants on a tour of Sim history, from Prehistory to the 2030s, whose events parallel human history. I dare say that this is the most complete, longest and ambitious challenge of The Sims ever done, because even narrowing down the ancient history, it should cover almost 500 Sim years (the year of the game), all expansions and game packs, completing all the achievements and adding other known challenges. At some point along this challenge I intend to incorporate and adapt The Amazon Challenge, The Great British Challenge, Ultimate Decades Challenge, Decades Challenge, Trash to Luxury Hardcore, Not Enough Human, Black Widow Challenge, Asylum Challenge, Bunker Challenge, Seven Babies Challenge, among others.
GOALS
The main goal of the Legacy History Challenge is to build a genealogical legacy from prehistory to the present day based on human history and complete all the achievements of The Sims 4. To do so, each Age has its own specific goals and rules.
REQUIREMENTS
LHC is designed to play with different ethnicities over time and different types of gameplay, including various packs and expansions. In the rules for each Age there is a topic where I detail which expansions and packages are required and optional. If you don't have the expansion or core pack, you'll have to adapt your game.
This challenge also requires the use of mods and custom content for complete immersion in the Age being played. The main mods I use are listed in the rules for each Age, and you can also check out my Custom Content inventory. I'm always updating. Remembering, I don't host, I just direct the links. The inventory also breaks down ccs by creators. So for broken links you should go after the original creators. This video can also help repair objects broken by updates. If you are a creator and I have mistakenly listed your content as someone else's, please let me know.
RECOMENDATIONS
I recommend recording your challenge progression through a spreadsheet and family tree. This will facilitate the organization and control of your game and allow the preservation of memory, bringing a sense of satisfaction and reward at the end. The spreadsheet I created is based on Morbid Gamer's spreadsheet for the Ultimate Decades Challenge with some modifications, such as adding a Calendar, Human Chronology Events, suggested baby names and a tag for each Sim. I control every Sim in the world through the MC Command Center. I know when they are born, grow and die through notifications, but you can choose to use it only for your family/group.
You can download my spreadsheet here, updated in September 2023. This table is always being updated with new information. At the end, you can access it in the driver or download and copy and paste the new information into your table as the original table is updated.
I also recommend that you save a new game before each drastic modification in the game (a Sim aged up, for example) and always have a backup on an external HD organized by Ages folders. At the start of each Age you can delete old saves and NPCS ghost Sims from your game. This way, your game won't be so heavy and you'll always have a backup of the old Ages in case you need it.
TRIGGER WARNING
This challenge is based on the narrative of Western world history. I learned history at school from a Eurocentric view of the world and I also don't feel comfortable talking or creating stories about experiences I don't have (the place of speech) or about something I don't know. However, I am doing research to include different ethnicities and locations.
Being based on Western world history also means that your Sim will often be prejudiced, sexist, slave-owning, violent, and will commit or be subject to numerous atrocities. You won't always have complete freedom to choose your ethnicity. Of course, you can ignore this and adapt the LHC in your own way, but keep in mind that it will no longer be historic. (I'm thinking of another type of challenge for those who would like to play more freely that also involves historical progression and I'll release the rules soon).
In this challenge, miscarriages, deaths in childbirth, deaths of babies and children can also occur, as well as population control events that involve the death of Sims in the world, which can make the player uncomfortable. Moreover, this challenge incorporates the 100 Baby Challenge. There will be many children being born, as the chance of them dying in the early stages of life is very high. So if you don't like the little ones crying or the time wasted taking care of them, playing the LHC can be a little torture.
ORIGINS AND INSPIRATIONS
When I started this challenge I wanted to play the History Challenge, but some of the rules just didn't make sense. Why bother raising money in prehistory when there were no coins yet? And how does your Sim have a yoga mat when they should be busy with more important things? Really, a yoga mat? So these rules needed to be changed. Another Challenge that I really like is the Decades Challenge by ZombieCleo. My original intention was to adapt to the two challenges.
So I was looking for Decades Challenge gameplay when I found Morbid Gamer on youtube playing the Ultimate Decades Challenge. At the time, she was playing at 1550, with death rolls, particular life stage duration, and a spreadsheet. It was all fascinating. But not everything that works for the Ultimate Decades Challenge works for the Legacy History Challenge. How to play more than 10 thousand years considering each year as 4 Sim days? Well, I think I found a solution for that. I'm also always watching other creators and how they play their challenges. Marina Montenegro has perfected the History Challenge through its Legacy Eras Challenge, Severalperson is adapting the Ultimate Decades Challenge for multiple countries, and Ermersed Crown has a unique way of adding plot and drama, taking the player on a journey through British history. And they all have really good ideas that can be incorporated.
The sources used in the construction of the challenge are often romanticized and don’t have complete historical accuracy (Even the sources of the History Channel). This is what happens with The Tudors and Vikings series, for example. In this case, they were mentioned just because it is the closest we have to a vision of the described period. However, I'm making sure to make the necessary corrections to the rules so that they are reliable. These corrections are based on books by real historians like André Leroi-Gourhan and Georges Duby. I also make many references to A Song of Ice and Fire, since even though it is a fantasy book, the author is based on the real world to create the narratives and the political scenario always stands out, leaving the fantastic elements in the background.
DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE LHC AND THE HISTORY CHALLENGE
Legacy History Challenge is slower and harder than History Challenge, I would even say hardcore. HC uses financial objectives and goals and a scoring system. LHC focuses on maximum historical accuracy and the gradual progression of the Ages. HC usually starts with a couple of Sims that are Generation 0 and from their heir each generation counts as an Age. LHC starts with a Founder Sim, the Legacy Matriarch, she has age, traits, aspiration and specific goals and her lineage must continue through several generations to present times. Each Age has a suggested gameplay, duration, number of generations, and Sim lifespan, which the player can adapt as they see fit. The more you follow the gameplay guidelines, the greater your immersion in the historical period covered. The LHC is genealogical, which means you only lose the challenge if for some reason your Matriarch and all of her descendants die in the game. While the HC is hard for a Sim to die, the LHC incorporates death rolls, meaning all your Sims rely on luck to survive. At the LHC, you don't change heirs every generation. When an heir is chosen you must play with him until his death and fulfill the aspirations and tasks assigned to him. Heirs cannot be removed from homes, even if they are elderly and their children are marrying and having children of their own.
After July 2023 update, the LHC incorporates an optional Age called Genesis, where you start with a couple and can complete the Genesis Challenge which consists of populating the world of The Sims with a descendant of your legacy in each house. Within the LHC this challenge can be completed across all played Ages and is based on mythology rather than history. In this case, the couple would be Generation 0 and the Founder Sim must be one of their daughters. Those who play with the Original Age - Genesis will be able to experience a challenge closer to the original HC of cloudseeker, but maintaining all the rules and Ages of the LHC.
THE FOUNDER SIM AND THE PRECURSORS
As stated, the Founder Sim must be a female and the original Matriarch of her family. She is the most important Sim in Legacy. As the daughter of the original precursor couple (if you play Original Age - Genesis) she doesn't participate in the dice roll. Let's consider that by luck of fate (or grace of The Watcher) this Sim managed to reach old age (which in the standard normal playing time of EA games and in prehistoric life expectancy meant about 30 years). Now her descendants have a chance to survive to the present day. It is important that you think about what physical characteristics you will give your Matriarch, as her descendants will be able to carry them in the future. I, for example, made my first Matriarch with very thick lips. I thought it looked beautiful on her, but on some of her descendants it was a little strange. Her name was Eva, she lived in the Costwolds in Prehistoric England (Henford-on-Bagley) and her look was inspired by the game Horizon Zero Dawn. As I initially ignored that Cro-Magnons had darker skin than modern Europeans, I decided to remake her and restart the challenge.
That was before I thought of adding the Original Age - Genesis to the challenge, which I am currently departing from. Below are the Precursor Sims, the founders of the Original Age - Genesis, Adamah and Hawah, created from the genetics of the new Eve with some modifications. I wanted them to look like Hebrews, but I'm not that good at creating Sims from existing models, nor do I know the genetics of that population very well. So I made them a skin tone darker than a European and lighter than a Cro-Magnon, Egyptian or Sumerian.
SIM CALENDAR
The game year has 28 days with four weeks of 7 days each. I like to play the time of the seasons in 7 days so that each year closes a cycle. Just like in Game of Thrones, here the seasons last for years. So I created a Sim Calendar based on that.
The letters P, V, O and I are abbreviations for Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter (Primavera, Verão, Outono and Inverno in Portuguese). Instead of the days week names, we have numbers. 1 is Sunday, 2 is Monday, 3 is Tuesday, 4 is Wednesday, 5 is Thursday, 6 is Friday, and 7 is Saturday. The first number in front is equivalent to Sim Year. So this is Sim Year 1. In this logic 7p4 would be the spring Wednesday of Sim Year 7 and 25v3 would be the Summer Tuesday of Sim Year 25. I put colors that remember the seasons for easy identification. Pink for spring, yellow for summer, orange for autumn, and blue ice for winter.
In prehistory, before the invention of writing, there was no calendar. So in the Original Age - Genesis I named the days G1, G2, G3 and so on. The days played in the Paleolithic I named P1, P2, P3, P4, P5 and so on. In the Paleolithic the world is always frozen, so the color is blue ice. In the Mesolithic, the seasons last 15 days, the climate is changing, I named the days M1, M2, M3, M4, M5 and so on. In the Neolithic the climate is stabilized and the year has four well-defined seasons. I named the days in the Neolithic N1, N2, N3, N4, N5 and so on. You may notice from the spreadsheet that my calendar starts in G1 and the Original Age - Genesis lasts exactly 2 Sim years. The decade goes through the Paleolithic for 4 Sim years, Mesolithic for 2 Sim years and ends the Neolithic with another 2 Sim years. From the second decade, the first year begins with the official calendar on day 1p1. In my test this count of days was well adapted to the gameplay, but you don't have to follow it strictly. In the LHC rules there is a suggestion of time to play in each phase, but in this period when there was no time control (at least as far as we know), the challenge gives you more freedom to play as you feel more comfortable. However, I advise you to start the Sim calendar on the first day of the second decade and adapt the first decade between Genesis, Paleolithic, Mesolithic and Neolithic, organizing the duration of each of these periods into Sim days as you see fit. This will ensure a minimum of organization.
Around the year 3500 BC there were already traces of a proto-script in Mesopotamia. From then on I set the Early Simvilization and the calendar at Sim Year 1, where each Sim Day is equivalent to 1 human year. Thus, events in the Sim world in antiquity will be faster than in human history. I think this is too long a period of time to play on a closer to real scale and there aren't as many recorded events and changes in fashion (as far as we know) as there are from the Middle Ages to present times, which could leave the game monotonous. The Bible, Chinese legends, and the Sumerian King List suggest that ancient men lived for hundreds of years. At this point I have taken the liberty of adopting this conception. So, consider that your Prehistoric Sims lived thousands of years and ancient Sims lived longer than current Sims. This is in relation to events and not to life expectancy, of course. In other words, during antiquity Sims had a faster technological and intellectual development than humans.
In the 100th Sim Year (Year 700 BC) I changed the calendar, so that each year is equivalent to 4 Sim Days as in the Ultimate Decades Challenge. In the game, each Sim Day equals one trimester (considering the Sim's gestation). So 4 Sims Days would be equivalent to 1 year. (Pregnancy actually lasts 4 days: 1 day without finding out, 1 day in the first trimester, 1 day in the second trimester and 1 extra day in the third trimester until the water breaks, but we have an illusion that it's only 3 days). But why did I make this change only in the year 700 BC? Good question! I don't know, I thought it should be time to do that, that it should already have historical records and more interesting events every year, since it's closer to the Classical Age. Aquilus Acta playing The Syderis Legacy in Ultimate Decades Challenge mode a century earlier in Sparta also excites me. Counting each year as 4 Sim days, from 700 BC onwards, in 100 Sim years one arrives at Gregorian year 1, which makes the calendar organized. This is also in the testing phase, I can change the calendar before or after that date. You can also adapt the challenge as you see fit, these are just suggestions.
SIM LIFETIME
As established, 1 Sim Day equals 3 months and 4 Sim Days equals 1 human year. If you notice, the lifespan of the Sim, in normal mode, isn’t equivalent to human life. Considering the duration of EA life stages, at age 29 your Sim would already be an elderly person and would die around age 33:
This may even be valid for prehistory, I've seen some professors saying that in prehistory people lived to be 30 years old and we have nothing written to prove the opposite. But it doesn't make much sense in today's times. Therefore, my suggestion for a more suitable lifespan in Early Simvilization follows in the table below:
People died early in the old days, a 30-year-old woman was already considered old. I've read newspaper pages on the internet saying that this is bullshit and that in the Roman Empire, the rich lived to be 70 years old. But honestly I need to research more about this. My suggestion for life expectancy in the Modern Age is shown in the table below:
You can also increase life expectancy in the 20th century, as the elderly currently live to be 100 years old due to advances in medicine:
Another alternative is to play on short lifespan. Thus, the challenge would run faster and each Sim Day would always be really equivalent to 1 human year. In that case, I suggest changing the pregnancy to just 1 day. You would have to do this in the MC Command Center. If you use Wicked Whims or Wonderful Whims, you need to change the pregnancy settings of those mods too to work. In a short time, the suggested duration of lifetime at the Early Simvilization is shown in the table below:
Now there is a question. Sims in the world grow up on their own, without birthday cakes or player intervention, exactly 1 day after their birthday. So, even if the Sim you play with is born after them or on the same date, if you grow him on his birthday, he will live less than an NPC. For example, your Sim is born on day P1 and they are 1 day old as a newborn. Assuming that newborn is the only stage you're really going to play more than a day past the birthday or let it grow alone to enjoy the stage a little, you'll grow him to infant in P2. After 5 days you get the birthday notification and grow him to toddler in P7. Another 7 days, he gets another birthday notification and grows him to child in P14. In 14 days you will grow him to a teenager in P28. In 21 days it will grow to a young adult in P49. Another 24 days and he will be an adult in P77. After 33 days, you will be an elder in P119. The Sim in the world that is born in P1, grows into an infant in two days (P2) and in another 5 days grows to toddler (P8). He has seven days to become a child and grows up on his own a day later in P16. He will grow to teenager in P31, young adult in P53, adult in P82 and elder in P125. That's one extra day for each life stage change (except newborns), for a total of six extra days, as shown in the table below:
This means that in order for all your Sims in your save to be the same age you should always grow your Sim the day after their birthday or let them grow up on their own. In fact, it should change the life stage duration to 1 day less than suggested in the tables above in the MC Command Center settings. (Morbid Gamer turns off in-game aging and calculates each Sim's lifespan through the spreadsheet. This generates errors. I find it much easier to change settings in the MCC. That way, the age changes will be automatic and you only have to worry about growing the Sim one day after the birthday in the game's Calendar or simply letting him grow up on his own). Below are the settings considering normal and short time:
MC Command Center only modifies life stage duration in normal mode. So, if you're going to play with the short life, you should play in normal mode and change the duration of life in normal mode to the one specified in the table. Note that in the suggestion the life stages of newborn, infant and toddler have also been adapted so that when added together they result in multiples of 7 days (the newborn grows naturally without player intervention in 2 days, the infant in 7 days and the toddler in 19 days, totaling 28 days. In short mode, the newborn grows in 2 days, the infant in 2 days and the toddler in 3 days, totaling 7 days). Infants and toddlers often share similar clothing. So in modern times, in normal game mode, you'll enjoy the little ones for almost an entire Sim year, experiencing all seasons. The other stages have also been adapted so that the Sim when growing alone has life stage durations in multiples of 7. You should note that this way, starting from the Child stage, your Sim will always grow up on the same day of the week, making this closer to the birthday concept. Just remember to always grow the Sim played one day after the birthday marked in the game's Calendar or let him grow alone and all Sims in the world will have the default life stages. This makes it easier when you want to marry your Sim to an NPC of a similar age, making a friendship from childhood, as the two will not have a very large age discrepancy and you will not need to change the NPC age through the MC Command Center (doing so always bugged that NPC's life stage).
As for dogs, cats, horses and other animals, I don't usually mess with their life expectancy. A Sim year is equivalent to 7 human years and animals already live a short time. But Morbid Gamer has a suggested lifespan for dogs and cats in the Ultimate Decades Challenge.
DEATH ROLLS
I think Morbid Gamer invented this and I loved it. Each time your Sim grows to a new stage of life, you have to roll a dice to find out if he/she can grow to the next stage or if he/she must die in that stage and how many days he/she can live (in case of death. I added this second dice because I didn't want all the unlucky Sims to die on their birthday). Death rolls bring more drama to the game and make it unexpected. The data is usually based on life expectancy at the historical moment. It is assumed that if a child manages to survive the early childhood stage, he/she will have a better chance of surviving in the future. Pregnancy should also be more difficult if the Sim is very young (near puberty) or old. The original Sims, including the Founder Sim, are the only ones who are exempt from rolling the dice, because if that generation dies the challenge is over, but descendants must roll the dice on every age change since birth. You can also choose to use some mod that simulates illness and roll the dice only when your Sims get sick.
SPECIAL EVENTS
This is something I adapted from The Great British Challenge by Emersed Crown. In every Age, specific historical events occur, usually tragic as wars and natural catastrophes. This is a way to reduce the game's population so that it doesn't weigh too much. These events are decided by the dice rolls. Some are optional and some are mandatory.
RULES
The rules for each Age are still under construction. I try to test it in my gameplay first and it takes a lot of time. This is a very long challenge, and it takes time to write the rules and make the translations and adaptations to the English language. (If you compare the doc pt/br with the doc en/us you will see that I try to make the adaptations by changing the links with information in each language and not just doing a literal translation. Some of these links remain in the original (generally when it is a font produced in Brazil) and others only have the font in English, because it was the font I used and there is no better match in Portuguese).
Another problem is my perfectionism, I want to make everything perfect and I end up wasting time on it. My goal with the LHC is for it to be as complete as possible and that involves a lot of research and constant revision and improvement of the Ages rules. This challenge is ambitious and must have the perfect historical construction so that it can be easily adapted to The Sims 5, Paralives and future simulation games, as these games must support custom content. So, if you get to the point where you are missing the rules for the next Age, my suggestion is that you start playing The Great British Challenge so you can continue its legacy, rather than waiting too long for updates. Sometimes I make some modifications to improve, although I don't really like to do that after posting on tumblr. I am also open to suggestions and criticism as long as the objective is to improve the challenge and have a historical aspect. You will also find some information repeated throughout this document, such as mod indications and cheat tips. This is because each Age is designed to be played independently. Thus, the player can choose to play only one of the LHC Age, or else take a long time to pass the Age, but have his memory refreshed when reading the rules.

2009 The year the world Changed
The year 2009 was marked by several remarkable and unexplained phenomena that captured the attention and imagination of people around the world. From the sky to the ground, from the past to the present, these events challenged our perception of reality and raised questions about the nature of the universe we live in. Here are some of the most notable examples of these strange events:
Image : universetoday.com
The Norway Spiral
On the night of December 9, 2009, a spectacular spiral of light appeared in the sky over Norway and Sweden (see above), lasting for about 10 minutes. The spiral consisted of a blue beam of light with a greyish spiral emanating from one end of it. It was visible from hundreds of kilometers away and was witnessed by thousands of people. Some thought it was a UFO, a wormhole, or a sign of the end times. 1
Russian claimed it was a Bulava missile, which malfunctioned and spun out of control, creating the spiral effect. However, some experts and observers rejected this explanation, pointing out the lack of evidence and the unusual features of the phenomenon. 2

The Blood Red Rain of Kerala
Between July and September 2009, several episodes of red-colored rain fell sporadically on the southern Indian state of Kerala, staining clothes and surfaces with a pinkish hue. The rain also had a yellow, green, or black tint at times. 3
As you can image people called it the end of days we clothing especially stained. The inital explanation was that the rain was colored by airborne spores from green algae. However, some researchers pointed out that the spores had unusual properties and could not be identified as any known terrestrial organism. To this day the real reason is unknown. 4

The Mandela Effect
Also In 2009, Fiona Broome, a paranormal consultant, launched a website to document her observation of a phenomenon she called the "Mandela Effect". She noticed that she and many others shared a false memory of former South African president Nelson Mandela dying in prison in the 1980s, when he actually died in 2013. She also found other examples of collective false memories, such as the spelling of the brand name Oscar Mayer, the line “Luke, I am your father” from Star Wars, and the painting of Henry VIII holding a turkey leg. 5
Broome proposed that these false memories were not mistakes, but evidence of parallel realities and alternate timelines. She suggested that some people had somehow shifted from one reality to another, or that the realities had merged or overlapped. She also speculated that the phenomenon was related to quantum physics and the Many-Worlds Interpretation. 6
The Asperatus Cloud
We all take clouds for granted; we see them every day and are used to the patterns of the sky. They are like old friends that, over the years, we come to recognize. But in 2009, a new cloud occurred for the first time. The Cloud Appreciation Society, a group of enthusiasts who admire and study clouds, proposed a new classification of cloud to the official system. The cloud formation, named asperatus (meaning roughened or agitated), was characterized by a dark and turbulent appearance, with undulating waves and ripples.
These days they have become common and have been seen around the world. 8
A Coincidence or a Connection?
What is remarkable about these events is that they all occurred in the same year, 2009, which was also the first year that the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), the world’s largest and most powerful particle accelerator, began operating after a failure in 2008. The LHC, located near Geneva, Switzerland, was designed to recreate the conditions of the Big Bang and to test various theories of particle physics. On December 8, 2009, the LHC achieved a world record by colliding particles at an energy of 2.36 trillion electron volts, surpassing the previous records. 9
Could there be a connection between the LHC and the strange events of 2009? Some people have speculated that the LHC could have opened a portal to another dimension, altered the fabric of space-time, or created a mini black hole that swallowed our reality and replaced it with another one. These ideas are mostly based on wild imagination and conspiracy theories, and have no scientific basis or evidence. However, they do reflect the curiosity and wonder that these events have inspired in us, and the possibility that there is more to the universe than we know.
However don't take my word for it, I have included links so that you can conduct your own research. 10

Large Hadron Collider pipe brings search for elusive magnetic monopole closer than ever
New research using a decommissioned section of the beam pipe from the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN has bought scientists closer than ever before to test whether magnetic monopoles exist.
Scientists from the University of Nottingham, in collaboration with an international team have revealed the most stringent constraints yet on the existence of magnetic monopoles, pushing the boundaries of what is known about these elusive particles. Their research has been published today in Physical Review Letters.
In particle physics, a magnetic monopole is a hypothetical elementary particle that is an isolated magnet with only one magnetic pole (a north pole without a south pole or vice versa).
Oliver Gould, Dorothy Hodgkin Fellow at the School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Nottingham is the lead theorist for the study, he said: “Could there be particles with only a single magnetic pole, either north or south? This intriguing possibility, championed by renowned physicists Pierre Curie, Paul Dirac, and Joseph Polchinski, has remained one of the most captivating mysteries in theoretical physics. Confirming their existence would be transformative for physics, yet to date experimental searches have come up empty handed.”
The team focused their search on a decommissioned section of the beam pipe from the LHC at CERN, the European Organisation for Nuclear Research. Conducted by physicists from the Monopole and Exotics Detector at the LHC (MoEDAL) experiment, the study examined a beryllium beam pipe section that had been located at the particle collision point for the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment. This pipe had endured radiation from billions of ultra-high-energy ion collisions occurring just centimetres away.
"The proximity of the beam pipe to the collision point of ultra-relativistic heavy ions provides a unique opportunity to probe monopoles with unprecedentedly high magnetic charges," explained Aditya Upreti, a Ph.D. candidate who led the experimental analysis while working in Professor Ostrovskiy's MoEDAL group at the University of Alabama. "Since magnetic charge is conserved, the monopoles cannot decay and are expected to get trapped by the pipe's material, which allows us to reliably search for them with a device directly sensitive to magnetic charge".
The researchers investigated the production of magnetic monopoles during heavy ion collisions at the LHC, which generated magnetic fields even stronger than those of rapidly spinning neutron stars. Such intense fields could lead to the spontaneous creation of magnetic monopoles through the Schwinger mechanism.
Oliver added: “Despite being an old piece of pipe destined for disposal, our predictions indicated it might be the most promising place on Earth to find a magnetic monopole,”
The MoEDAL collaboration used a superconductive magnetometer to scan the beam pipe for signatures of trapped magnetic charge. Although they found no evidence of magnetic monopoles, their results exclude the existence of monopoles lighter than 80 GeV/c² (where c is the speed of light) and provide the world-leading constraints for magnetic charges ranging from 2 to 45 base units.
The research team now plans to extend their search, Oliver concludes: “The beam pipe that we used was from the first run of the Large Hadron Collider, which was carried out before 2013 and at lower energies. Extending the study to a more recent run at higher energies could double our experimental reach. We are also now considering completely different search strategies for magnetic monopoles.”

ok lets talk wips!!!
from the ask that i answered a couple days ago:
soulmate aus that i was almost done with [completed!!!! a win for me!!!!]
like a box of chocolates [both svt and skz] - working title, not set in stone. similar to the flower fics i wrote for svt + trsr back in the day where they all have some kind of trope associated with each kind of chocolate.
bodyswap aus for skz + svt. [woozi for svt, lee know for skz]. - admittedly my plans are on pause because i never came up with group names for the fake idol groups i made up for each. basically soulmate au where they end up swapping bodies until they fall in love with the added complicated layer of both being in a small idol group.
i won't run away [lee know] - fem!reader follow-up to i can't run away [vernon fic] where reader moves on.
keep it simple, stupid! [paboracha] - paboracha are all mutually pining with their respective readers and the rest of skz makes a bet on who will realize its mutual the soonest and confess (or get confessed to). minho's in love with his roommate, hyunjin's in love with his best friend, jisung is in love with his study partner for class.
childhood friends -> lovers [seungmin] - a much more recent idea for seungmin in the same vein as when i grow up where it's snapshots of the two growing up together and falling in love. very much 'one falls first, the other falls harder.'
shadow [UtS poly ending] - the poly au that has some more story to it, imo? more emotional topics and some angst. everyone is in love with everyone.
vague summer svt fic? [full group] - not to be released rn if i go for it, but i'm open to tossing ideas around for some summer-themed fics. might include skz (and if anyone's interested/i feel up to writing them, trsr) as well? it'd most likely be a july release just to give myself time to write all the fics and i'd probably give myself some sort of hard limit on how many words they can be.
ok these next few are chubby!fem!reader so if i do write them, i think they'll most likely get posted alongside something else since ik its not a widespread audience!!
untitled chubby!fem!reader fic [felix] - originally a smau i'll have to reconfigure in the same way as lhc, basically lhc but for felix. set after the best friends -> lovers jisung fic that i wanna rewrite! felix deals with the aftermath of a broken heart and ends up befriending reader who he falls for quickly bc she's cute n sunshine-y. very much lonely hearts club but i'll be removing the social media aspect from it.
chubby!fem!reader fake dating au [seokmin] - college au. reader has never dated before and asks seokmin if he'll go on a date or two with her just to help her get over the scary 'first time going on a date' feelings. he turns her down because fucking up is kind of part of the experience, but ends up agreeing to it after he lies and says he's dating reader to get someone who won't take no for an answer off his back. they agree to fake date until after reader's cousin's wedding... and u kno the drill w fake dating!! these bitches start falling for each other!!!
chubby!fem!reader sculptor/muse [woozi] - jihoon is a grad school art student who needs to diversify his portfolio a Lot (man just keeps sculpting his best friend bc he offered to model for him). soonyoung goes 'i know someone' and gets reader in to be jihoon's new model and oops they start catching feelings for each other over time. also has mentions of past mingyu/reader.
i am like 90% sure theres more because i KNOW i had fics planned around on//ew's (censored to keep out of search results, hopefully) album circle (some of which have initial drafts that i wanna rewrite) and an au built veeeeery loosely around the case 143 mv but i wanna workshop both of those more before i mention em any further.

Here's a writing prompt(request) for you.
A group of mean girls from a nearby school kidnaps Riku and forces him to become a cat boy. They put cat hears on him and a fluffy tail, they are making fun of him, but they are also praising him and saying how to cute he his, its gets better when they force him to make cat noises.
It would be good to see Kaneda or even Tamiya and Dafu reaction
Awwww, this is so cute. XD Reminds me of the girls from my LHC-adjacent original story.
. . .
Kaneda
If it's possible to die of anxiety, Riku is pretty sure he's about to do that. His face is so hot that he feels close to passing out— and it's impossible to tell if it's because he's getting attention from girls or just plain humiliation. At first, he's certain that they're going to beat him or worse, but when it ends up as just cat accessories and putting him on his knees, Riku doesn't know whether to be relieved or even more panicked. He's trembling so badly that he can hardly manage to make noise at all, and as his first tentative meow is rewarded with praise, he only ends up shaking harder. He's sobbing before long, both from fear and the awful, shameful realization that the attention almost makes this worth it.
Tamiya
Honestly, it's hard to say he's surprised. Kaneda is weak-willed enough that even getting picked on by girls doesn't seem beyond him. The cat ears and tail are definitely a little weird, but since his friend is well past the point of distress, Tamiya is more focused on getting him to calm down than he is on thinking about what they did. The whole situation seems kind of silly, and yet, they must have been pretty mean about it to get Kaneda this worked up.
Dafu
It's definitely pathetic, but Dafu's first reaction is something close to jealousy. Even though it was clearly humiliating, he can't help but wish that it was him getting so much attention from girls. Just thinking about being put on his knees, cooed over, and told how cute he is has Dafu's mind going to some very inappropriate places. It's hard to be reassuring when his blood is rushing downward, so he leaves the comfort job to Tamiya.

How can physicists make particle accelerators more efficient?
How can physicists make particle accelerators more efficient? The Super Proton Synchrotron (SPS), one of the many accelerators in CERN’s complex that will benefit from the EPA project. (Image: CERN) As particle accelerator technology moves into the high-luminosity era, the need for extreme precision and unprecedented collision energy keeps growing. Given also the Laboratory's desire to reduce energy consumption and costs, the design and operation of CERN’s accelerators must constantly be refined in order to be as efficient as possible. To address this, the Efficient Particle Accelerators project (EPA) has been established – a team of people from different accelerator, equipment and control groups across CERN who are working together to improve accelerator efficiency. A think-tank was set up following a 2022 workshop to plan upgrades for the High Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC), and it came up with seven recommendations on efficiency for the EPA to work on. “The idea was to look at efficiency in the broadest terms,” says Alex Huschauer, engineer-in-charge of the CERN PS and member of the EPA. “We wanted a framework that could be applied to each machine in the accelerator complex.” To do this, the team created nine work packages on efficiency to be deployed over the years leading up to the beginning of the HL-LHC run. “It emerged from our discussions in the efficiency think-tank that automation is the way forward,” says the EPA project leader, Verena Kain. “This means using automation both in the conventional way and using AI and machine learning.” For example, AI can help physicists combat accelerator magnet hysteresis. This happens when the field of the iron-dominated accelerator magnets cannot be described by a simple mapping of current in the electromagnet to the field. If this is not taken into account, it can lead to inconsistent programmed fields and detrimental effects on beam quality, such as reducing the stability and precision of the beam’s trajectory. Today, these field errors are manually tuned to correct the field, a process that takes both time and energy. “Hysteresis happens because the actual magnetic field is not defined just by the current in the power supply, but also by the magnet’s history,” says Kain.* “What’s difficult is that we can’t model it analytically – we can’t work out exactly what current is needed to create the correct field for the beam in the accelerator magnet – at least not with the precision required. But AI can learn from the magnet’s historical data and elaborate a precise model.” The team have done initial tests using magnets in the SPS and hope to train the AI on all CERN's accelerating magnets over the coming years. While the experiments across the CERN accelerator complex already use automation, AI and machine learning to assist with data-taking, up until now, much of the beam and accelerator control has been done manually. “Most of the lower energy machines, like the PS, were built in an era when automation as we know it today was simply not possible.” Kain continues. Another area where automation can revolutionise efficiency is in scheduling. “The different beams in the accelerator complex are produced one after the other and this has to be orchestrated so that the beam can be extracted from one machine and injected into the next at the right moment,” she says. “Sometimes we have to change the schedule between 20 to 40 times a day, and it can take around 5 minutes each time. That task, currently done manually, accounts for much of the work of people in the control centre.” By automating this process, control centre operators will be able to spend more time working on the beams than on scheduling. Other areas of focus for the EPA are automated LHC filling, autopilots, automatic fault recovery and prevention, automatic testing and sequencing, automatic parameter control and optimisation. The team hopes to continue their… https://home.cern/news/news/accelerators/how-can-physicists-make-particle-accelerators-more-efficient (Source of the original content)

Amedisys and UnitedHealth's $3.3B Optum Merger: A Thriving Partnership
Amedisys and UnitedHealth Group are set to divest several home health assets to facilitate their $3.3 billion merger. This strategic move aims to address regulatory concerns and secure approval for UnitedHealth’s acquisition of Amedisys through its Optum subsidiary. The divestiture involves selling care centers to VitalCaring Group, addressing Department of Justice antitrust concerns. UnitedHealth’s all-cash deal values Amedisys at $101 per share. The merger is expected to enhance Optum’s home health services, building on UnitedHealth’s previous $5.4 billion acquisition of LHC Group. Industry experts, like Matt Larew from William Blair, emphasize the divestiture's importance in minimizing merger risks and maintaining the projected timeline. This merger is poised to reshape the home healthcare market by combining Amedisys’s network with UnitedHealth’s resources, improving patient outcomes and healthcare delivery. ON MY NERVES — LHC
PAIRING: haechan x female reader SUMMARY: you don't like lee haechan. you don't like the way he has to argue with everything you say. you don't like the way he never lets you have the last word and manages to piss you off on every single occasion like it's a competition of how fast he can get a rise out of you. and you especially don't like having to share a bed with him. GENRE: enemies to lovers! (ish) au, one bed! trope, humour, light smut WARNINGS: swearing, a spicy makeout session towards the end, general mature content and themes, mentions of jeno x karina WORD COUNT: 2.7k NOTE: meant to get this up for hyuck's bday at the start of the month but here we are... apologies if the pacing is a little off, i wanted to try my hand at something short (and sweet) plus this has been sitting in my drafts for way longer than it should have and i just wanted to get this out instead of letting it rot in my wip basement forever. basically not my best but we move!
“Can you shut the fuck up?”
The fingers that were drumming atop the covers so relentlessly for the past ten minutes came to an abrupt halt at your words.
“I literally wasn’t even speaking,” he replied, somewhat bewildered, but not without an equal bite in his tone. Haechan was never one to just sit there and take it, especially not from you. If you were to accidentally spill some water on him, rest assured he’d be back the next minute with a whole handful of ice cubes to shove down the back of your shirt.
It had happened once. Mark had been pretty annoyed at having no ice left for his coke.
To be frank, you weren’t quite sure why your friendship — actually, maybe that was too generous of a description for your relationship — with Haechan was so difficult, for lack of a better word. No matter how civil you had tried to be at the beginning of knowing each other, you’d always end up finding some trivial thing to bicker about, like whether matcha tasted like grass (which it didn’t, he was delusional), or if Canadian people were Americans (which they weren’t, and you had Mark on your side for that one). How you managed to survive so long in the same friend group was nothing short of baffling. For their sake and your own, you did your best not to rise up to his bait, trying your best at civility when you absolutely had no choice but to interact with him.
It had been working pretty well for you. Up until now, where the two of you were currently lying in the same bed, in a stuffy little hotel room that would become home for the coming week, with nobody within these four stifling walls to put up a front for.
You should never have agreed to come on this trip with Karina.
“Just cut out whatever you’re doing with your hands, I’m trying to sleep,” you groaned, adjusting the pillow underneath your head. The comforter was just big enough to cover the both of you with nearly a foot of space between your bodies, but of course he had to hog that, wrapping the other end around himself like a caterpillar in chrysalis. Not wanting to move any closer to him, you gave it a tug, sandwiching the edge of it between your legs, and suppressed a satisfied smile when his attempts to pull it back were unsuccessful.
He dragged out an irritated exhale. “Don’t hog the blanket, I’m trying to sleep too.”
“I thought you were fingering the bedsheets?” you shot back. “Could have fooled me.”
“I wasn’t fucking fingering the bedsheets!”
“Then what were you doing?”
“It’s Kuhlau’s Sonatina in C Major,” he said, like it was the most obvious thing in the world. “Opus 55, number 1.”
You turned over to shoot him the flattest look you could muster. As if he was talking about classical music right now, when you were both supposed to be fast asleep to have enough energy to brave the 14-hour itinerary Karina had put together for tomorrow. As if he was trying to shove in your face how intellectual and sophisticated he was, playing imaginary piano on top of the comforter, when you knew he was first and foremost a League player, and a proud one at that.
“Just know I say this from the bottom of my heart,” you began, trying to inject as much sincerity into your voice as you could, “shut up and go to sleep.”
Whatever snarky reply he was preparing to fire back with was lost on you as you turned away from him again, laying back into your previous position while trying to maintain the distance between your bodies under the blanket. The air was filled with the low tones of his grumbling, though you couldn’t make out exactly what he was saying apart from a few words that sounded suspiciously like ‘shut up’ and ‘uncultured’. Underneath you, the mattress shifted, and the sound of rustling from the other side of the bed let you know he had settled himself in.
Satisfaction turned the corners of your mouth upwards. So he could actually do what he was told.
Tomorrow morning, you’d wake up early, head down to the front desk and beg them to change from your current room to one with two beds. You were banking on the guest services agents tomorrow morning being different from the heartless middle-aged lady who had already denied your request earlier today, despite the desperation in your eyes. Murder could very well be on the books if you had to stick to this arrangement for the entire week.
You were teetering on the cusp of sleep, mind filled with wonderful thoughts about locking Haechan out on the balcony for the rest of the night, when you were abruptly pulled from your dreams by the sound of his voice.
“You know, this is kind of all your fault,” he said quietly. Sleep still riddling your brain, you heard the words before you processed them, but when the sounds finally clicked into decipherable meanings, you started, bristling with confusion.
“What are you talking about?” you said, doubting your own ears.
He clicked his tongue against his teeth, a sound you recognised. It was a surefire sign he was getting annoyed, and hearing it never failed to rile you up too. “This whole ‘sharing a room and sleeping in the same bed’ thing, it’s your fault.”
You whirled over to face him, sleep now cleanly slipping out of your grasp. He met your astonished gaze with a steady one of his own, standing his ground, never one to back down from getting on your nerves. Did he seriously just wake you up right before you were about to fall asleep, all so he could blame you for something that you didn’t want either?
A disbelieving laugh left your mouth. “How the hell is this my fault?”
“You’re the one who booked the rooms. Why would you book two doubles?”
“Why wouldn’t I?” you fired back. You were nothing if not financially savvy, which the string of numbers before the decimal point of your bank account balance could attest to, and the booking website had a discount for the double room over the twin, even though the listings were the exact same.
Except for a few things.
Like the actual bed.
“The double was cheaper and it had a better view,” you huffed. “I didn’t hear you complaining when I saved everyone at least fifty bucks each.” He hadn’t seemed all that grateful either when you had sent the screenshots to the group chat, only responding with a thumbs up reaction to your detailed message, but then again, he didn’t tend to show much emotion towards the joyous end of the spectrum at the mention of your name. Still, you knew him well enough that no response was a good response, because if he was unhappy about something that involved you, there was no chance you wouldn’t be made aware of it.
Irritation coloured his expression. “I don’t care about some stupid view. I’m pissed because I have to share a bed with you when I should be rooming with Jeno instead.”
“And I should be actually enjoying the harbour view with Karina instead!” You could feel the angry pounding in your ears intensifying with every extra second spent with your eyes on him, on the pinch of his brow, on the tight purse of his pink lips. “But no, I’m stuck with you. So however much you think you hate this, just know that I hate it even more than you do,” you spat.
“Which is why you should have booked the twin,” he said, stubborn and uncompromising.
Never letting up. Always needing to have the last word against you.
“How was I supposed to know Karina and Jeno were gonna start fucking before the trip?” you cried, throwing your hands up in exasperation.
The steel in his stare only hardened. “Because,” he scowled, honey voice steeped in sarcasm and eyes charged with challenge, “don’t you know everything?”
Perhaps, if you had paid a little more attention to the increasing time your best friend had been spending with a certain puppy-eyed gym rat over the last few months, you could have put two and two together before witnessing the two of them very publicly lip-locking at Renjun’s birthday party. Perhaps, if you had looked up from your laptop to ask her who she was going on a late night drive with for the third time in a week, you could have predicted the drunken love confession Jeno would spew in his friend’s bedazzled living room, among the many other things that came out of his mouth that night.
Perhaps, if you had spent a little more time doing anything instead of devising every possible plan to have Haechan stumble off the wharf listed in tomorrow’s itinerary, you could have had the foresight to make changes to your accommodation before the window for free cancellations and amendments had closed.
So yes, maybe this whole situation could have been avoided if you were a fraction more observant. But it wasn’t as if you were the only person who could have worked it out earlier.
The challenging slant to his eyes softened with smugness, almost as if he could hear what you were thinking. You knew that face, that stupid face he would make when he was about to say something he knew would piss you off. That stupid, handsome face that made you want to tear his hair out, strand by strand, straight out of his scalp, and then force feed the dark brown locks to him.
“Or do you just pretend to know everything so you can get on my nerves?”
For a fleeting second, your vision went hazy white around the edges, like a vignette filter with the colours inverted. Everything went quiet except for the pounding of your heartbeat, loud and violent between your ears.
His smug, handsome face disappeared underneath your pillow with a loud smack.
There was a short spluttering noise, muffled by the cotton you hoped he was inhaling. You lifted the pillow up again, just enough to see the genuine shock written in the crease of his brows, revelling in it for just a second before the shock could settle into something else that would have him thinking of revenge.
“What the fuck?”
You swung the pillow at him again.
“Can you please just shut” —a thump against his shoulder— “the fuck” —you aimed for his face again— “up?” you groaned, a pleading rasp to your voice. Maybe he’d stop opening his mouth if this thing was glued to his face forever. You’d never have to hear his stupid voice or see his stupid face again.
Just as you were about to land another hit on his tiny head, a hand shot out, grabbing a hold of your weapon of attack before it could collide with him again. He pushed the pillow down ever so slightly, just enough so that he could fix his eyes on you and let their smouldering heat burn into your own.
“Fucking make me.”
You’d like to think it was the glint in them, the silent dare written into his chocolate rich eyes, that had you rising to the bait. You’d like to think he knew exactly what he was doing and what he was implying with that smart mouth of his. That smart mouth and those pouty lips.
You’d like to think it had nothing to do with the heat that curled in the pit of your stomach at the sight of him underneath you, fluffy hair dishevelled from your attacks, one side of his mouth quirked up at the corner, looking up at you like he had you in the palm of his hand. Like he could swallow you whole if he wanted.
You’d like to think all those things, but when the distance between your faces closed and you crushed your lips to his, the truth reared its head, breaking the surface of the annoyance you had grown so used to wearing.
You wanted him.
You wanted Lee Haechan.
Judging by the way his mouth was moving under yours, hot and frantic, it seemed he wanted you too. The kiss was a clash of teeth and tongue, brash and messy, all those years of frustration pouring out and overflowing into the hard press of your lips against each other. Your pillow fell to the side, now useless and forgotten, and your hands came up to grasp at the softness of his hair, winding through the strands you had been thinking of tearing out just a minute earlier.
“You are so insufferable,” you gritted out against his mouth, pulling the plump flesh of his bottom lip between your teeth and giving it a sharp nip.
He didn’t seem to like that. One slender hand came up around your hip, holding you flush against him as he rolled you over with an ease you hadn’t been expecting. Maybe the gym sessions with Jeno and Jaemin you had heard about weren’t made up after all.
“And you,” he growled, dragging his lips down the column of your throat, “need to watch that attitude.” A hand came up to play with the strap of your sleep tank, waiting for your quick nod before it slipped under the fabric, slowly sliding it off your shoulder. His mouth was quick to follow, pressing wet kisses along the length of your collarbone. You’d never admit that the thready sound he pulled out of your mouth was anything even remotely close to a moan, but the smug smile against your skin was evidence enough that he knew just how affected you were by him, even if you wouldn’t own up to it yourself.
“Watch yourself,” you fired back, struggling to keep your breath from hitching when you felt the light graze of his teeth over your neck. Not fair. The game had barely even started, and he was already winning. Eager to make things even, your hands left his hair to grab at the hem of his t-shirt, pushing it up until your fingers were splayed against the smooth skin of his toned stomach.
Oh, the gym sessions with the muscle twins were definitely real, and definitely paying off.
An experimental rake of your nails over his abdominals drew a low hiss out of him. Now you were getting somewhere. He brought his head back up so that he was hovering over you once more, and fixed you with a dark look.
“Don’t play,” he warned, but the needy undercurrent to his voice was giving him away. He might not have said much, but the growing firmness pressing into your upper thigh was doing all the talking for him. You let your fingertips dip underneath the waistband of his pants, a teasing proposition of what could follow, and his gaze darkened even further.
“What are you going to do about it?”
He did something about it, for sure.
He did a lot of somethings about it.
He did so many things about it that it had you late to the hotel breakfast buffet the next morning, greeting Karina and Jeno with a flimsy smile and slight limp to your walk. You slid into the seat next to her with a poorly concealed wince, but she was too focused on cutting her boyfriend’s pancakes to notice, sparing you nothing more than a small wave and a quick hello.
Someone else did notice though. Haechan flashed you a knowing smile, lips quirking up at the corners as he took the remaining chair at the table. A flicker of irritation bloomed inside you, but with it there was something sweeter as well, something bordering on the edges of thrill at what his look entailed.
“No name-calling or death glares yet? I’m impressed, you guys really are on your best behaviour,” Jeno laughed. “How was the bed situation? Not too bad?”
You and Haechan exchanged another loaded glance.
“Let’s just say, we both slept very well.”

Rumors Of Internal Riffs Between The #1 Registrar In The World GoDaddy And One Of The Most Versatile Tech Powerhouses In History Sutra Nexus. 20+ Year Partnership May Be At Risk
Sutra LA | March 7th 2024
Rumors are circulating that there are internal riffs between GoDaddy and its long time partner Sutra Nexus, a tech hybrid capable of everything from selling hosting and business services to private military contracts and "ethical" hacker recruiting.
Sutra Nexus was founded in Atlanta, GA in 1998 nearly 8 months before Google was launched in a garage. It launched with a diverse product and service line ranging from web, graphic, print design to selling business solutions like conferencing, forwarding numbers, and even computer hardware. But soon it was discovered that Sutra Nexus operated in the sole interest of black operations for its parent company Imperial Alliance Corporation for such things as ION Canons, hacker tools, Internet and personal Security, and was known for donating money to pro gun, pro conservative, and Hacktavist groups.
Sutra Nexus operated under other names such as Trebor Surge Technologies, LHC, Arc Phoenix Corporation, and FlashKore Systems; but the way Sutra Nexus has grown and expanded is one of the most un-orthodox road maps for a tech company. Its business strategy has been referred to as "Starfish Strategy" and "The Liquid Principle", and most commonly "The Ghost Machine".
In other words, fail proof and bullet proof with or without any connections or partnerships whatsoever. Also seeking to always keep the company private using psych marketing to constantly appear, disappear, and reappear while shuffling it's many subsidiaries around all-the-while forging new contracts, Technologies, and even whole agencies built up and practically given away to other companies and firms. The tradeoff is "tricking" larger tech companies to complete certain tech in ways that are too vague or "too close to being the wheel" to patent or own. Sutra Nexus would then offer the completed tech to smaller more gullible firms in exchange for the lions share of the profits.
This is but one method Sutra Nexus uses to make its money.
Also, when it comes to its direct clients and customers, most get treated like absolute royalty as long as they follow the plans and strategies of Sutra Nexus. Those who challenge or alter the set forth plan in any way, shape, or form, Sutra Nexus makes unprecedented responses almost no other firm or company in the same space makes....it attacks them. To date Sutra Nexus has never lost a case, chargeback, breach of contract, or broken partnership even after the company has been accused of unethical retaliation.
Despite these rumors and accusations, Sutra Nexus clients love the firm. Perhaps its because Sutra Nexus has been known to use the same tactics to defend itself to also defend and protect its clients. There is virtually no organization out there willing to go the lengths to protect small or large businesses alike than Sutra Nexus.
Some see this in the age of Big Tech censorship and constant agency fall outs as a much needed catalyst in such an age of constant market stress, inflation, and bad policy makers critically impacting businesses for fringe, unproven causes politicians are echoing just to grand stand for votes. It's the Age of Pipe Dreams.
Sutra Nexus first went into partnership with GoDaddy in 1999, a year after its launch, when founder Bob Parsons first took the company to the mainstream rivaling the establishment's Web.com and Network Solutions.
In 2010 Sutra Nexus dissolved their contract with its former hosting partner and inked a deal with GoDaddy under a special corporate account allowing Sutra Nexus to BETA test new products and services before officially launching to its customers. Sutra Nexus, founder Robert Chrisley loved the company so much he even went further by becoming a reseller to demonstrate how ground-breaking the program was and harshly defended GoDaddy against numerous troubled waters throughout the 2000s and the 2010s. It's even rumored he lead a botnet against GoDaddy watchdog site NoDaddy.com.
After GoDaddy went public on April 1st 2015, Chrisley's birthday, he bought several shares of stock and praised Parsons for the direction he had taken the company. But Chrisley began to notice a downward pattern in the company after Parsons finally left the company completely in 2018.
Since then there have been not-so-obvious falling dominos because of the way Sutra Nexus operated, but none-the-less the aftermath was very obvious. Per Sutra Nexus test labs and consulting, GoDaddy was advised to faze out its Fax Thru Email product in favor of a business phone number forwarding service similar to Grasshopper and eVoice. Later Chrisley advised their recently rebuilt flagship website Builder (at the time known as "Go Central") to include everything from Appointment System, built in store as a addable section, SEO friendly native blog, built-in SEO software, a CRM, built in email and email marketing, and an in-house POS/merchant solution as an alternative to PayPal, Square, and Stripe. Additionally a marketing dashboard that connects the website dashboard to social media channels to compete with Hootsuite as well as a graphic/image/social post designer to compete with Canva (despite the fact Sutra Nexus has been a partner of Canva since 2016).
Between 2018 and 2020 every single one of these features were implemented by GoDaddy as:
Smartline (now Connections) (after purchasing Freedomwire)
2. Websites + Marketing (rebranded Go Central)
3. GoDaddy Studio
4. GoDaddy Payments (after purchasing Poynt)
5. Microsoft 365 (after fazing out its Workspace product)
6. Every single internal change suggested.
Sutra Nexus never received credit or perks for the changes and didn't mind so as long as they were able to use them unfettered. But over the past 3 years, that has steadily changed.
New dashboard upgrades causes havoc platform-wide severely impacting Sutra Nexus operations and profits, particularly last year when the RCC on GoDaddy got a major overhaul.
The original deal was to remain with Wild West Domains and Starfield Technologies which GoDaddy didn't honor. Instead, gutting both companies after purchasing them and moving Admins over to GoDaddy.
Sutra Nexus is also renown for its stand against liberal and leftist ideology going as far as having the domain extensions .DEMOCRAT .LGBT, .XXX, and a few others completely removed from its Domain Registry giving all those who had registered the domains with Sutra Nexus less than 24 hours to transfer them out to another registrar or lose them. (This is in retaliation to GoDaddy doing the exact same thing with Christian-owned free speech advocate social media platform and Twitter alternative Gab.com).
This did not help ease tension between GoDaddy and Sutra Nexus but instead maintain a very tight balance after.
GoDaddy soon responded by introducing a subtle but blatant swipe as a feature for the month of June during Pride Month by having both its own website Builder product and all who carried the branded version of the Wild West Domains website Builder to display a glowing rainbow effect whenever a website Builder user published changes live. This reportedly angered Chrisley so much that he was rumored to have been part of the GoDaddy server attacks off and on until GoDaddy implemented the use of AWS Config in 2021, but Chrisley denies this completely and there is no evidence or any connection to the blackouts, server throttles that plagued GoDaddy through a variety of products since 2019.
However, the timing is very coincidental in many cases. In 2014, after repeated attempts to make a deal with Google to offer their premium email suite GSuite (now called Workspace) , GoDaddy sought after the Microsoft 365 product in order to save on in-house resources. Sutra Nexus rejected the idea entirely siting the security flaws on Microsoft's platform and the fact its own Robert Chrisley is a huge advocate against Bill Gates and Microsoft credited in calling out the Gates/Epstein connections long before it made mainstream news. Chrisley outright refused to carry any Microsoft products and threaten GoDaddy to either keep WWD Workspace intact and updated or find a different solution or he would break the partnership. In 2020 Chrisley also proclaimed the servers would eventually be hacked. GoDaddy ignored his warnings. But in November 2023 a Russian hacker group hacked Microsoft servers in November 2023 and was not discovered until January 2024. This is only the latest of a series of security breaches, most being swept under the rug and down the memory hole.
In 2022 GoDaddy offered a "M365 clone" ran on GoDaddy secure email servers as a private label product which Chrisley agreed to adopt to replace Workspace. This transitional period protected Sutra Nexus and all of its clients from the wave of breaches that were either attempted or unsuccessful during this period because despite the "clone" look of Microsoft, the servers were not Microsoft servers.
Another breach Chrisley predicted was in 2018 when Chrisley effective removed Wordpress, Wordpress Hosting, and Shared Hosting products from Sutra Nexus product line stating that WordPress was a huge security risk, janky, unreliable, and one of the most unstable useless excuses for using as a business presence since flash websites. The prediction turned out to be true.
Hackers first accessed the login credentials and SSL keys of 1.2 million GoDaddy Managed WordPress customers on September 6, 2021. The unauthorized third party used the vulnerability to access the email addresses and contact numbers of the customers. GoDaddy immediately blocked the third party from the system, began an investigation, and contacted law enforcement.
But the damage was already done and once again, Sutra Nexus clients did not suffer any windfall because of Chrisley's clever positioning of clients on the right products and services to protect them as invaluable assets. Despite Sutra Nexus ruthless attacks against anyone or anything that threatens it, it actually has a pretty great track record for fighting black hat hacking, moral causes, and client security while also advocating to keep a free and open internet.
It is a seemingly conflicting juxtaposition to some who may be dull to the whole industry, but supporters quickly point out that Sutra Nexus never goes after personal assets of anyone that it retaliates against as long as the offense has not done the same. And if Sutra Nexus has been breached in a monetary sense, then it immediately pursues the offender legally. At least that's what its spokeswoman Julie Nguyen stated when asked to comment on this article.
The latest rumor states that GoDaddy revoked its payment processor from Sutra Nexus over charge backs, but maybe being used as a loophole to move against Sutra Nexus without appearing to break any contracts or legal agreements. Sutra Nexus denies this, instead insisting that customers can buy any product on their storefront as of today with no problem. However, the rumor isn't referring to the processor used on Sutra Nexus Domain and Hosting store, but the GoDaddy Payments account that was being used to bill for agency services from Sutra Nexus.
Whether the rumors are true or not, the fact that Sutra Nexus has always emerged from any battle smoke as the David in the middle of Tech Goliaths could be a cautionary tale GoDaddy may be advised to take seriously and consider before pulling a "Gab.com" on a company and a successful entrepreneur who has zero old school problem of shooting back. In fact, based on the track record Sutra Nexus has had with GoDaddy over the years, Sutra Nexus has been treated more like a betrayed best friend. A best friend that hides its abilities and defense strengths from GoDaddy because it assumes GoDaddy is also a friend. Only time will tell. But underestimating Sutra Nexus or its owners or subsidiaries is a best a fool's errand.
In closing there is another rumor floating that Sutra Nexus has finally created the perfect in-house solution to completely house its business clients on its own without the need for GoDaddy, including hosting, domains, security, and even the ability to have its own resellers (just like it currently has now) and other tech it can fully control, keep up to date, entice loyal customers, and leave GoDaddy entirely. If there is anything to what has been mentioned here, that may very well be true. Because, Sutra Nexus is so good at keeping secrets, the information here may not have even been leaked or rumored unless Chrisley himself wanted to be.
