#Kove's bandana is a gift from Merokol to signify his adoption

Redraw of my Cactus OC ref chart, plus a little redesign on a few details.

The Cacti are a sentient race of plant-based humanoids who live deep in the desert. They do not have genders, and reproduce by drinking water, which is a rare resource typically distributed by the Cactinian government.

Children are raised in large groups by masked figures known as Gardeners in an orphanage like building called Kindergartens. Because children are so plentiful, their care is not a necessity, and many children are neglected by their care takers until adulthood.

In order from left to right:

Fianna - She/Her, 15, Asexual - Due to the thickness of her petals, Fianna is almost entirely blind. Other young cacti bullied her because of this back in her Kindergarten, leading her to run away into the desert with no intention of going back. This is where she met Rocca, who took her in against his will, and is now like a father to the young succulent.

Rocca - He/Him, 32, Aromantic - Rocca is unfortunately one of many Cacti the government deemed too fertile. After sprouting three children, the Cactinian government almost completely shut off Rocca’s water supply, leaving him to almost starve to death, if not for his Kindermate, Merokol, constantly hiding out at his house and bringing with him stolen goods, including water.

Merokol - He/Him, 30, Asshole - The leader of the Cacti Carving gang, Merokol is a highly sought after criminal with a ginormous bounty on his head. Whoever turns him in will gain unlimited access to the Glacial Oasis, the countries larges supply of water. Merokol lives a “Me first” life style, constantly taking from anyone and everyon to give to himself. While pillaging though an inconsequential Kindergarten, Merokol runs into his biggest fan, Kove, who proceeds to change his life forever.

Kove - He/They, 11, Agender - Growing up Kove was constantly hearing of the Cacti Carving Gang, a group of thugs taking for their own gain. While his Kindermates founds the gang to be brutes worthy of being feared, Kove found himself idolizing the group, especially the leader, Merokol. He was such a big fan, the young Cacti even made himself a patch based on the gang’s symbol, and wore it proudly around the Kindergarten. A chance encounter with the group’s leader will send Kove on all the high crime adventures he’s ever dreamed of.
