I've said it before, but it would make more sense to ask literally anyone else on the team to kill someone. Sokka grew up preparing to fight in the war, Katara would absolutely ice shank a bitch if necessary, and Toph is Toph. Same with Suki and Zuko. None of them would be so resistant to killing if necessary

Aang: i can't just go around killing people i don't like!
