Following up one finale with another! The end of the Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe story arc is here, and it is one of the most serious chapters of Kirby manga I've ever translated. There's, like, one joke in the entire thing. Very much worth reading for any Magolor fans out there!

Magolor's Fun Facts #1!

Hi there, everyone! I'm starting a new experimental series of posts on this blog that will all be obscure facts about Magolor! Some may be more well known than others, but I have one or two that I haven't seen documented before as well! Let's get on with the first one, ya?

The form of Magolor pictured above in GIF form is known as Magister Magolor! Magister is Latin for "Master" or "Teacher", so it makes perfect sense. I feel it rolls off the tongue very nicely!

I found this information within the files of Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe. The textures for his extra clothing on this model are labelled as "MagisterOutfit"! I’ll be honest, at first I thought Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe was going to be a straight remastered port without any new features that stood out. But BOY, was I wrong!

Our boy Magolor‘s getting his own brand new mode, ”Magolor Epilogue”, which will probably answer our questions further on how he ended up on good terms with the main Kirby crew in subsequent titles lately. Can’t wait! Enjoy the fanart here!

Kirbtober day 25 : Epilogue

Ok, with this one I went straight up to "How many biblical symbolism can I put in a kirby drawing ?" and the answer is quite a lot. Meanings under the cut, if you're interested

Ok, so first of all, I a not christian, I made recherches for this drawing but I'm not a expert. Don't hesitate to correct me if I'm worng !

I went with the most known figure of a repentant sinner, Mary Magdalene. She is an ancient prostitute who latter became one of the most close friend of Jesus. She have a lot of attributes I couldn't put here without making it look strange (like long hair, a human skull or a ointment jar), but I managed to show some.

For exemple, it is said that Jesus made "7 devils" go out of her. Still, it's unclear if those devils are symbolising deaseses or sins. Anyway, that's the reason I put 7 frut fragments insted of the 5 you have to get in the game.

Also, her two main color are the red and the green. What is interesting with those is that they can represent vitality and rebirth (respectively), but in the same time they are associated with the devil.

The thorns represent sins, with the apples gems to reinforce this idea, and add some red.

The tower represent spiritual elevation, and is inspired by the architectural elements we can see in the hub of magolor epilogue. The color of the sky behind have the same signification. The bottom is dark, while the top is more blue, blue being the color of spiritual enleignmant. And also the purple and gold relief behind magolor is here to mimic an aureole. So he is litteraly rising from the darkness toward the light.

And lastly, during my reserches, I learned that the colors of wears associated with repentence are brown and grey. Yep, I didn't even had to change that. Coincidence ? Who knows ! Hal seems to love putting obscure meanings where you expect it the least
