Idk if you’ve followed DSJHS, but if you want to watch a show, with pretty much everything on point this IS the drama. Yumna Zaidi, Saman Ansari, Sakina Samo, Aamna Malick and Usama Tahir nailed it. BUT Noman Ijaz take a bow. I think I’ve followed his work from Mera Saeein days but man CAN ACT. What a sensitive story and handling. Also what do you think of Kiran Haq? She was in this drama and I watched Pinjra too and shes amazing. Really wish she does more leading roles bcs such screen presence

I have talked about this before but DSJHS isn’t a drama that I prefer to watch. The subject matter itself is very sensitive and if I’m being honest, a little triggering for me(#MeToo) and it just didn’t help that for more than half of its run, the show was a long show-reel of sitams on Sila and her mother by that disgusting monster Joey. And I don't particularly enjoy such kind of one-sided dramas. HOWEVER. I happened to watch the last few episodes when tides began to turn in Sila’s favor and did enjoy the episodes. No doubt the cast has done brilliant work in. Yumna and Noman do deserve all the accolades for their performance. Another thing that the drama did right was then when the truth did come out, there was no victim blaming. I was actually surprised at how the family supported Sila and her mother when Sila finally spoke up about how Joey used to abuse her. But then again...almost for the whole entirety of the drama that wasn’t the case toh last episode mein hogaya toh koi ehsaan nahin hua.

Kiran Haq? Her character was definitely a scene stealer here. I have seen her in “Khaali Haath” before this but she hasn’t done anything memorable as yet. Google tells me that she was in Maan and yeah..now that I read about it I remember that show xD Oh..she was the “doter” in Akbari Asghari as well! She’s a good actor, definitely able to pull of different kinds of roles..wouldn’t mind seeing more of her but the thing is that there just aren’t enough good shows being produced so I doubt I’d ever see her in a project that has all my interest.
