So story from my Stepmoms Aunt :She lived in New York in the 70's and heard they were filming King Kongs death scene at the World Trade center for the 1976 remake ,she and some friends tried to go to see if they could be extras in the movie …..By the time they arrived the crew were packinging up and Kong was "Deflated "

How the heck can you claim a movie is "original" when it's a freakin' remake?

So, sometimes my nephew brings stuff home from work where I'm like...okay, we'll see what we can do with this. For instance last week they brought home two containers of cooking fat from a batch of lamb kefta. Sure, I'll use what is essentially rendered fat with aromatics and flavor, but also: how. As it turns out, it makes fucking delicious popcorn, for one. The aromatics and a peppery kick come though and it's really quite good.
Tangentially speaking of spice, I guess. You'll see when we get there. As I was curating my list for this week, I realized I actually have seen a fair number of giant monster movies, just not any Godzilla, and today while I was sewing I was thinking about movies (typical) and for whatever reason the train of thought was trying to reach some kind of potential conclusion about giant monster films that we'll achieve by the end of the week (not a goal with the theme weeks, in general, gotta say) but where said train of thought ended up was "...and then we'll know which Giant Monsters are the most fuckable" which felt very normal for about 1.6 seconds. Anyway, the goal of the theme week isn't ranking how fuckable various iterations of giant monsters are, but the question was raised, whether anyone was actively thinking it or not.
King Kong (1976)
Oh no, 70s Jeff Bridges has sort of an 80s Kurt Russel look that I'm into.
Did Charles Grodin buy confidential government information from Richard Nixon? That's the implication, lol.
