The notice demanded a change in the film’s title. Keeping in view the sentiments of viewers, the makers changed the film’s title to Laxmii.

Accused of promoting love jihad

According to the film’s official trailer, Akshay plays a Muslim character in the film named Asif whereas his co-star Kiara portrays a Hindu girl named Priya. Shortly after the trailer dropped online, a legion of netizens accused the film of promoting love jihad. However, the film has not gone through any changes on that front.
