These burgers are a tasty take on the traditional Kentucky Hot Brown. They are made with grilled chicken patties, bacon, tomato, and a creamy Mornay sauce. They are served on toasted Texas toast. This burger is tasty and rich, and it will satisfy your hunger.
Ingredients: 4 ground chicken patties. 4 slices of cooked bacon. 4 slices of tomato. 4 slices of white cheddar cheese. 4 slices of Texas toast. 2 tablespoons butter. 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour. 1 cup milk. 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese. Salt and pepper to taste. Paprika for garnish. Chopped fresh parsley for garnish.
Instructions: Grill the chicken patties until cooked through, about 5-6 minutes per side. Place a slice of bacon, a slice of tomato, and a slice of white cheddar cheese on each chicken patty. Cover and let the cheese melt. While the cheese is melting, prepare the Mornay sauce. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and whisk constantly for 1-2 minutes to make a roux. Gradually whisk in the milk and continue cooking until the sauce thickens, about 3-4 minutes. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and season with salt and pepper to taste. Toast the slices of Texas toast until golden brown. To assemble the burgers, place each chicken patty with bacon, tomato, and cheese on a slice of Texas toast. Spoon the Mornay sauce over the top of each burger and garnish with a sprinkle of paprika and chopped fresh parsley. Serve immediately and enjoy!
