Out of all the anime I have seen probably one of my most nostalgic favorites is Tasogare Otome X Amnesia (Dusk maiden of amnesia).

Mainly due to yuuko who is the sweetest and cutest ghost girl ever!

If you have not seen the anime or read the manga (the manga is even better!) I highly recommend that you check it out if you like a story that has cute romance and creepy ghost stories and loads of atmosphere (those autumnal colors!).

I don't normally say that a anime character is a "waifu" or "my waifu" but if I were to have a waifu it would be yuuko kanoe for sure!

"Helloooo~ I know you're in there~"

The resident ghost could be seen standing in front of a closed door. Her patience was quickly fraying, evident in the way she stared at the blinds covering the windows. Occasionally, they would shift and bend and eyes would peek out, then it would snap back into its original position. She could hear whoever it was murmuring, walking around, and shifting furniture inside. Frowning sharply, she lifted her hand to knock again.

Knock-Knock. Knock-knock-knock. Knockknockknockknockknock��

"Let me in!" Yuuko finally huffed, reaching out to force the door open with no luck. The days were getting colder and darker; she could practically sense the warmth and light on the other side of that door. She craved the comfort and company away from the lonely chill of the halls. In a fit of frustration, she kicked the door hard, immediately regretting it with a whimper as her foot throbbed.

She never considered that they couldn't see her, or that she was absolutely terrorizing the poor person inside.

Her own puppy-eyed gaze wouldn't be effective on everyone. Her anticipation led to her own disappointment, pouting at the canine that snuffed her before she stood back up. While she knew herself to chase the occasional roaming cat, she could respect someone's pet. Miyako's invitation was more than enough to bring Yuuko's spirit back. "Oh, of course!" In due time, she thought, Kereb would warm up to her eventually.

What was exciting about dust and cobwebs? The thrill of sneaking around dark halls and finding what one would consider treasure in a box of junk would never last. But Yuuko would be all too eager to explore this place several times over if it meant she could be around someone else.

"Seeing as I've been here before, I'll let you lead, Miyako-chan. To be honest, I would be quite surprised if you found something interesting." Yuuko's gaze drifted toward the setting sun. It was only a matter of time, since the day was nearly over, that the other girl would find the need to return home before she became another mystery to solve.

She offered her hand, her usual smile perfectly in place. "Don't worry. I will promise to lead you back to the school gates before it gets too dark," she teased, "no one has ever been willing to stay the night with a ghost, after all."

"I understand that. Big places always tend to make one feel...small." Ah, so she was exploring on her own too. For a moment, she watched the other with curiosity from Kereb's watchful eyes. There was something about how she reacted towards them, it wasn't anything threatening, but it felt oddly… Familiar.

"O-oh? You want to pet Kereb? Well..." Her hesitation wasn't due out of fear of the pup behaving aggressively, but rather Kereb's habit of acting a bit dismissive when it came to others. She's still not sure if it was a trait caused by her personality, or if it was just their own thing. "That depends on Kereb."

Once called to attention, Kereb sat up straight and looked towards the other girl. It appears that he took the time to form his decision. Finally, he inched just a bit closer, only to recoil back in a huff. Looks like her request was denied.

"Sorry... don't take offense, he can be fickle." So much for a good first impression, although she couldn't blame him. A sense of touch from an unfamiliar face was always uncomfortable. Still, she couldn't help but wondered the thought process that he goes through to decide such a thing. "Hmm... Maybe he might come around if we did some exploring together?" Nervously, she chuckled, "If you want to?" She didn't want to risk sounding too pushy, but the thought of exploring together seemed kind of interesting to her. Especially someone who've been here before.

The best parts of the Tasogare Otome x Amnesia (Dusk maiden of amnesia) sound track (or at least the best parts that youtube has not deleted!)

Just like the anime the sound track is amazing!

I especially love the songs with the soft and eerie flute music which always gives me the relaxed shivers and makes me feel warm yet bewitched kind of like drinking hard cider on halloween under a fiery red maple tree in a graveyard while watching old ghost movies on my phone with a girlfriend (I have not done all these things together yet but I would definitely like too!)

Also the last song called requiem is the best and it plays at the saddest point of the show and it makes me tear up whenever I hear it yet I cannot stop listening because the song it so good!

Weekly seasonal anime thoughts

Yuru Camp S3E08: Aki, Aoi and Ena’s Bus Camp continues. This was a mouthwatering episode! All the cooking and delicious-looking food made me hungry haha! It’s nice Toba-sensei again too.

The Many Sides of Voice Actor Radio Ep7: I didn’t expect this episode to make me emotional! The reveal that Yubisaki is a big fan of Yuuhi Yugure and Yasumi Utatane was great because it made her character more interesting to me. I liked that she genuinely felt betrayed/sad that Yuuhi and Yasumi completely changed their image to their current ones. A lot of their old fans felt the same way so it was emotional seeing their fans still support them despite it all especially during the challenge scene.

Dungeon Meshi ep21: whoa, this episode is very interesting!!! We’re introduced to 2 different plot points and it is very exciting! Very curious about the elves and Kabru. Also Laios being the prophesied hero that will defeat the mad magician and be the new king?!?! 🤯🤯🤯

Demon Slayer: Hashira Training Arc ep1-2: I’m genuinely happy that Demon Slayer is back! This season is a great one for character interactions between the cast and it sets up a lot of plot points for the final climatic battle with Muzan.

Hibike! Euphonium S3E07: the buildup of Mayu and Kumiko’s relationship continues to be so good! Kumiko attempts to get closer to Mayu since she felt guilty about being on guard around her and in this ep, she finally understood why she felt uneasy around Mayu. Mayu reminded her of her past self during middle school. The visual storytelling in this ep is amazing and it really shows the distance between Mayu and Kumiko. Very good stuff!!!

Loved seeing Natsuki and Yuuko again as well!

Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night Ep8: this was another heartwarming and emotional episode! JELEE’s first anniversary live didn’t go as planned but they managed to pull it off together. I loved that Kiui was the one who suggested the idea of an online live. The idea that we can connect together despite being in different places is very relevant. The scene with all the JELEE fanarts got me emotional! However, with Kano’s identity being exposed and her mom reaching out to Mahiru, things are about to get messy for sure.

Whisper Me a Love Song ep7: things are getting intense with Shiho and Aki! I do love Himari’s relationships with Momoka and Shiho though. They have such a fun dynamic. Though Shiho doesn’t know that Himari’s girlfriend is Yori yet…

As for the production issues, it definitely sucks seeing the production fall apart but personally, it doesn’t stop me from enjoying the show. I hope people will support the manga as well the anime staff too.
