"After the crucial second round of talks with the government failed to make any headway, the protesting farmers carried on with their Delhi Chalo march on Tuesday. There were reports of chaos on the Punjab-Haryana Shambhu border as the Haryana police fired teargas shells as farmers tried to break the erected barricades. Drones have been deployed to keep track of farmers’ movements, most of whom are on tractors.
Delhi has imposed Section 144 throughout the city for 30 days, erected barricades and iron spikes on the borders to prevent the farmers from entering the Capital.
Internet and bulk SMS services were suspended for Tuesday in seven districts of Haryana- Ambala, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Jind, Hisar, Fatehabad and Sirsa. Several farmer leaders’ social media accounts were also reportedly blocked the previous day.
The farmers’ protest, being led by the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) and the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha, has been demanding legal guarantee for Minimum Support Price (MSP) for crops, as promised by the BJP-led government at the Centre, among other demands like loan waiver and implementation of the MS Swaminathan Commission’s recommendations. The farmers participating in the protest are mainly from Punjab and Haryana."

Truth of Farmers Protest 2024 | Why Farmers are protesting? | Abhi and Niyu - 21 Feb 2024
On February 13, groups of farmers heeded a call given by the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha and the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (non-political) and began a march to the national capital, to press for fulfilment of their demands, which include a legal guarantee for purchasing crops at Minimum Support Price (MSP) and a farm loan waiver.
How has the march progressed? While farmers from different States have reportedly started heading for Delhi, it has been largely from Punjab that scores of farmers started their ‘tractor-trolley’ march to reach Delhi via Haryana. As farmers arrived at Shambhu-Ambala and Khanauri-Jind, the inter-state boundary between Haryana-Punjab, they were stopped from entering Haryana. The Haryana government had put in place elaborate security arrangements with multi-layer barricades, which included iron nails, barbed wires, concrete barricade-blocks, boulders, trenches and anti-riot vehicles on the roads bordering Punjab. Additionally, the police resorted to the use of tear gas through drones, and water cannons to disperse the agitating farmers. Police-farmer clashes ensued when farmer groups attempted to enter Haryana by pushing and throwing away the multi-layer barricades.

EN8 Material Chemical Composition
What is EN8 Carbon Steel?
EN8 carbon steel, also known as common medium carbon and medium tensile steel, is strengthened by hardening medium carbon steel, which gives it a benefit over mild steel. Furthermore, any state can readily machine EN8 carbon steel. EN8 steels are often used in their raw, as-supplied condition without any processing. On the other hand, EN8 steels can go through further induction processes to harden their surface, which will provide components with better wear resistance. For heat-treated Steel EN8 materials, well-defined homogenous metallurgical structures provide reliable machining properties.
When heat-treated, EN8 has uniform machining capabilities because to its good homogenous metallurgical structure. Sections bigger than 63mm may still be able to achieve good heat treatment results, however it should be noted that mechanical qualities would start to decline towards the core of the bar. Therefore, it is advised that larger EN8 sizes be provided untreated, and that any heat treatment be done only after the stock has been initially removed. Improved mechanical characteristics towards the core should result from this.
An overview of the typical chemical composition of EN8 steel is given in the following table:
Chemical Component and Percentage Carbon (C) - 0.36% – 0.44% Si (silicon): 0.10% to 0.40% Manganese (Mn): between 0.60 and 1.0% Phosphorus (P): Up to 0.050% maximum Maximum Sulphur (S) of 0.050% Maximum 0.30% for chromium (Cr) Ni (nickel) - up to 0.25%
Without a doubt, the following table lists the usual physical characteristics of EN8 steel:
Property and Value
Density - 7.87 g/cm³ (0.284 lb/in³)
Melting Point - 1420°C (2590°F)
Thermal Conductivity - 49.8 W/m·K (0.114 BTU·in/hr·ft²·°F)
Specific Heat Capacity - 486 J/kg·K (0.116 BTU/lb·°F)
Electrical Conductivity - 13.4 MS/m (83.8% IACS)
Coefficient of Thermal Expansion - 11.3 x 10^-6/°C (6.3 x 10^-6/°F)
EN8 Engineering Steel - 080M40
080M40 is an unalloyed medium carbon steel; it is also known as EN8 engineering steel. EN8, a medium strength steel, has good tensile strength. It functions well with keys, shafts, studs, stressed pins, and other items. AISI 1040.

Inside the Intelligence Report: Farmers' Protest 2.0 Unveiled
As the farmers’ protest 2.0 gains momentum, an intelligence report sheds light on potential entry points, logistics, and strategies adopted by protesting farmers on their march towards Delhi. Here’s a breakdown of key insights from the intelligence report:
Tumblr media
Potential Entry Points: The report highlights remote and non-motorable borders of Delhi as potential entry points for protesting farmers from Haryana and Punjab. These areas could serve as strategic routes for farmers’ entry into the national capital.
Logistics and Mobilization: Protesting farmers have mobilized over 1,500 tractors and 500 vehicles from Punjab alone for the ‘Delhi Chalo’ march. These vehicles are reportedly loaded with six months’ worth of food, rations, and logistics, indicating the scale and preparedness of the protest.
Key Meeting and Outcome: A crucial meeting between farmer leaders and Union ministers concluded without resolution, prompting farmers to proceed with their planned ‘Delhi Chalo’ protest. The standoff underscores the determination of farmers to press for their demands.
Planned Entry Points: Farmer unions have identified key entry points into Delhi, including Shambhu Border (Ambala), Khanori (Jind), and Dabwali (Sirsa), signaling their strategic approach to the protest.
Strategic Hideouts: Tractors have been modified to serve as shelters, and farmers plan to hide in gurudwaras, dharamshalas, ashrams, and guest houses around Delhi. This tactic allows them to regroup and organize snap protests while seeking support from various communities.
Security Concerns: Security agencies express concerns about potential protest targets, including the Prime Minister House and Home Minister House. The heightened security alert underscores the need to prevent potential breaches and maintain public order.
As the ‘Delhi Chalo’ march unfolds, the intelligence report provides valuable insights into the evolving dynamics of the farmers’ protest and the strategies adopted by both protesters and security agencies. The unfolding events underscore the complexities and challenges surrounding the farmers’ demands and the government’s response.

Borders Sealed, Marches Banned: Delhi A Fortress As Farmers Hit Streets
Protesting farmers from Punjab are firm on marching to Delhi today as the Union ministers' five-plus-hour meeting with them remained inconclusive. There has been no resolution on the main demand of the farmers -- the minimum support price for crops.
Tumblr media
Here are 10 points on this big story:
The farmers' meeting with Union ministers in Chandigarh -- a last-ditch effort of the government that got singed two years ago over farm law protests -- continued almost till midnight. Food and Consumer Affairs Minister Piyush Goyal and Agriculture Minister Arjun Munda led the talks with the farmer leaders.
Post 11 pm, the two sides came to an agreement on repealing the Electricity Act 2020, compensation to farmers killed in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh, and the withdrawal of cases against farmers during the farmers' movement.
But there was no consensus on the three key demands -- enactment of a law to guarantee a Minimum Support Price for all crops, farmer loan waiver and the implementation of the Swaminathan Commission recommendations.
After the meeting ended just before midnight, Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee's Sarwan Singh Pandher said the 'Delhi Chalo' march is on. "Two years ago, the government had promised to meet half of our demands in writing… We wanted to resolve the issue peacefully. But the government is not sincere. They just want to waste time," a farmers' representative told reporters.
The Delhi Police have taken every possible step to stop the march from entering Delhi. There is heavy police presence at the Singhu, Tikri and Ghazipur borders. The police have imposed a month-long ban on public meetings and tractors and trolleys entering the city.
Prohibitory orders banning large gatherings have been declared in these areas. Much of the roads have been barricaded with concrete blocks and barbed wire. The movement of commercial vehicles has been stopped.
The authorities in Haryana have also fortified the state borders with Punjab at many places, including Ambala, Jind, Fatehabad, Kurukshetra and Sirsa. Concrete blocks, iron nails and barbed wire have been used to barricade the roads and block the protesters from entering the state.
Haryana has also invoked the 2021 law against public and private property damage that makes perpetrators pay. The state home department has directed the civil and police officers to stick to the rule.
The Samyukta Kisan Morcha and the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha had announced 'Delhi Chalo' march. The farmers have taken a hard line, armed with the precedent of the government's capitulation and withdrawal of the farm laws following the year-long agitation in 2020-21.
The Kisan Mazdoor Morcha which has the allegiance of more than 250 farmers' unions, and the Samyukta Kisan Morcha -- a platform of another 150 unions -- called the protest in December. The protest, coordinated from Punjab, is meant to remind the government of the promises it made two years ago.

Arvind Kejriwal cleared the air, will not contest in the association INDIA bloc in Haryana
Leader of Aam Aadmi Party, Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday made an announcement saying that he will contest alone on all 90 seats in the Haryana assembly elections. He further added that for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, AAP will come forward with INDIA Alliance.
"For the upcoming Lok Sabha elections we will contest elections together with the INDIA alliance but for the assembly elections, we will contest alone on all 90 seats of Haryana by itself," he said.
The Delhi CM was addressing the 'Badlaav Jan Sabha' in Haryana's Jind when he made the statement.
"Today, AAP is the largest group in Haryana compared to other political parties like Congress, the BJP, and the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP). There is a committee of 15-20 people in every village and ward. There are nearly 1.25 lakh office-bearers of the party in Haryana. This has been achieved in the last six months," Kejriwal added.
Talking about the current Bihar Political landscape Kejriwal said, "People have been disillusioned with every party in Haryana. Every political party that ruled Haryana in the last 75 years only thought about their own family. They accumulated enough money for their next seven generations. Today, people believe only in one political party. That is AAP."
He concluded his statement by saying that the people of Punjab and Delhi the neighboring states of Haryana, "are very happy with the work of the AAP."
The statement came in the backdrop of Janata Dal (United) chief Nitish Kumar severing his ties with the grand alliance in Bihar and rejoining the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
