unpopular opinion:

matt and jessica are wayyy more suited towards each other than matt and emily or jess and mike. and here’s why i believe that:

matt and jessica are the youngest of the group, both in high school compared to the rest of the group who are college aged.

they both deserve better than what they have. emily is clearly just using matt as a rebound and is still in love with mike, mike just got out of a relationship with emily and wants to have fun. not to mention mike is lowkey kinda manipulative (he uses the same line on both hannah and jess to seduce them, “why don’t we start with making out”).

emily is just a nasty ahh towards matt and he deserves much better.

they just look cuter together.

the trauma they both experienced together is bound to create an unbreakable bond (whether that’s a good or bad thing… idk).

matt protected jess even though his own life was at stake and she was a liability. he could’ve easily just left her but instead he dedicated himself towards saving her.

jess needs someone mellow. mike is too outgoing and forward, which brings out the worst in her because she’s deeply insecure and will do anything to be accepted (ie: the prank, arguing with emily, sleeping with mike even though he just wants to get in her pants).

seperate rant… i love mike as a character but i hate the way he treats jess. sneaking off to meet emily and hug her is shady, they definitely didn’t “run into each other” considering they were talking in a group and emily suddenly “needed to go find sam”.

his honesty goes down every single time he compliments jess… almost as though he’s only saying what she wants to hear so he can get in her pants.

and idk man, i don’t think mike would’ve tried as hard to save jessica if he didn’t see her get snatched and falling down the mine.

SEPARATE RANT (again) why did these two get the least screen time???? they deserved way more.

Silly Little Headcannons Pt.2

Mike HATES any form of spice (Josh has to make no flavor food just for him)

Emily owns 10 different fur coats (for 10 different occasions)

Matt wanted to a doctor growing up (even had a little coat and play doctor stuff-Mike was always the patient)

Sam calls Hannah sweetie if she’s doing something dumb

Ashley has lost almost every board game she has ever played (minus game of life)

Emily and Hannah do on shopping sprees at least 3 times a week (Emily didn’t buy anything from a mall for almost 5 months after the twins disappeared)

Emily has cried to Dumbo/Bambi before (the last time was when she was in 8th grade)

Matt doesn’t understand how women’s jeans work (one time he brought Emily a size 7-which is her size-but they were too big)

Mike is a horrible gift giver (one time he brought Emily a coupon to JCPenny)

Emily used to be weirdly competitive with the Washingtons when it came to money (when she was at the lodge, she had to give up)

All of the wash sibs were in theatre (Josh did the sets, Beth did the lights, and Hannah acted)

Mike would love to be on a reality show (only if it was the Bachelor)

Hannah and Beth gossip a lot (most of the information is from Josh)

Josh is the heaviest sleeper ever

Josh loves the snow (he makes snow angels, snowmen, and ski/snowboard every time he goes to the lodge)

Ok, so i haven't seen a comparison for the new vs old poster design, and it is different, so I'm going to go over everything I notice that looks different and say which version I like better

I've broken it down into 3 parts, the skull on top, the bottom image with the lodge, and a specific part for the lineup of characters at the bottom

The skull doesn't look much different, but there are a few things that are definitely changed. Another thing that's different is that the old one has a transparent gradient that makes it so you can see the snow that's pouring down onto the lodge in the bottom half of the skull, almost making the skull look like its made of ice, while you can't see that in the new one. The new skull is slightly thinner and taller. And the new skull has more a pronounced red glow. I prefer the transparent bottom, but I like the shape of the new one, and the red glow being stronger

The bottom scene is a little more different, with the lodge being visually facing a whole other direction. The windows are lit in the new one, and there's now snow and ice around the base of the hourglass. The lodge itself looks more impressive and imposing. I overall prefer the new bottom half

The row of characters at the bottom is super interesting, because it implies a lot. Now right off the bat you can see them better in the new one. As best I can tell, the original goes, from left to right, Chris, Sam, Ashley, Mike, Matt, Emily, Josh, Jess. Sue me if I'm wrong. The new one, much easier to see, goes Matt, Ashley, Chris, Mike, Sam, Josh, Jess, Emily. I this the new order makes more sense, with Mike and Sam, the main character archetypes, in the middle, Josh and Chris, both huge players in the story, next to them, then the characters who have less decisions and large impact, Matt, Ashley, Jess and Emily, on the outside. Prefer the new lineup

she’s your best friend, has been since you were 13, you’d found a similar interest in these ones girls shoes at lunch, disgusting and almost offensive.

at an instant you’d locked eyes and started laughing, since that day you became joined by the hip. all secrets told, all insecurities shared, tips and rumours shared between you two.

you’re not sure when you started feeling things for her, but it only grew.

you loved bleaching her hair for her, helping her put together different outfits, braiding her hair, just being close to her.

you two were open books when alone, so it was the hardest thing you’d ever done, hiding your feelings.

“ugh- why are my- what the fuck.” jess stands in the mirror in your bedroom, messing and fussing with her top. there was nothing wrong with it, she looked completely perfect. you sit down in front of another mirror applying your mascara. “jess, you look like a babe, we’ll only end up getting shit faced and ugly by the end of the night” you smile, looking back at the bleach blonde.

the party was at matts, emily had forced him to host there and he soon obliged, to be quite frank, he was terrified of her.

throughout the house party, jess was conversing with a few different boys, clearly selecting the lucky bunch that would be considered to be her boyfriend for the night.

“ugh they’re all meatheads” jess groans, throwing her self onto the sofa you’re sat on, you’d had a few drinks, measured by josh so you deserved a little sit down (or else you’d literally pass out)

“did you hear me?” jess prods your shoulder, dramatically your roll your head sideways onto her shoulder. “fuck ‘em” you slur with a dopey smile which jess returns.

the group were shocked to put it nicely. mike, josh and sam are your biggest fans despite josh’s wandering eyes and perverted mind. emily couldn’t stand seeing jess happy, so it’s was a one up for the blonde.
