Saudi Arabia - Final Day
Today is our last day in Jeddah and in Saudi Arabia. I have a 6:20 AM flight tomorrow morning. The ride to the airport leaves at 3 AM.
Today felt a bit like a filler day. We started at a museum in town that has 60, or was it 70, rooms or stuff. It was a version of the house museums on steroids. There was no place to rest your eyes in three floors of exhibits. We were there for an hour and a half!!! In a half hour I was out the door and sitting in the courtyard. It was overwhelming. Even the outside was every design on the old buildings in town.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But the inside... Even the spaces on the walls without exhibits were covered in large panels of text.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Our second stop was the Jeddah Fish Market. It was surprisingly good. The fish looks amazingly fresh and with a large variety and supply. In addition to the fish mongers, there was an area where you could take your fish and have it cleaned and filleted, etc.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then we to the "Floating Mosque" which isn't floating, it's on piles. Then we stopped at the Jeddah sign along the road. I have no pictures of those.
Then it was a farewell lunch (unfortunately NOT fish.) But while waiting I booked dinner as our favorite Sushi Restaurant for Sunday night.
In Summary
This has been a great trip. My fellow travelers have been knowledgeable and interested in the things we were seeing. Our guides, locals, and others have been enthusiastic and ready to share their experiences and knowledge.
As a result, I've learned a lot about Saudi Arabia's past, present, and possible future.
This is my first AIA tour and it's exactly what I was hoping for; which makes me feel better about the other two I've already booked.
But, I'm also ready to go home to Cathie, and the cats, and even to the cold and the snow.

Ramadan Umrah Travel Tips: Choosing the Right Package for You
Ramadan Umrah Packages:
Undertaking Umrah in the holy month of Ramadan is an immense privilege, as it is a great blessing to worship, contemplate, and be with Allah. Nonetheless, it can be tough to understand which Ramadan Umrah packages to choose as there are so many choices. To enable you to make a wise choice, we provide travel tips that are critical in accommodating you, your needs and your budget within the appropriate package.
Tumblr media
1. Identify Your Spiritual Objectives
Come up with these objectives before you start comparing packages, so they will be clear in your mind when looking for one. Firstly, what’s your motivation for going on Umrah – is it an affordable package that let’s you do the basics, or will you go for an all-out luxury trip? Being aware of you and your needs during this journey will allow you to make the right decision when it comes to purchasing the ideal package.
2. Review the Terms
Not each of the offered Ramadan Umrah packages regarding the specifics are the same, so be careful concerning what is provided. Be mindful of the following points:
Flight: Some packages offer direct umrah flight tickets to Jeddah or Medina, while others require further connections or transport to a different airport.
Accommodation: Seek for an all-inclusive deal that offers decent accommodation that is located close to either the Haram in Makkah or the Masjid al-Nabawi in Medina. Being close to these places tends to improve the overall experience.
Meals: Most packages provide mealtimes during the time of the stay. Be sure to ask whether provision of such meals is made, especially in the course of Ramadan when suhoor and iftar are required.
Guided Tours: Other packages come with provisions of Islamic instruction in the form of visits to archaeological sites in Makkah, Medina, among others, thereby enhancing the experience.
Transportation: For those taking trips to Makkah and Medina areas, confirm whether travel between the two cities is provided.
3. Take into account When Traveling is Important Tip Number Three
The time that one goes for an Umrah journey becomes quite instrumental especially during the month of Ramadan. Ramadan packages are normally broken down into segments of pre-Ramadan, mid-Ramadan, or the last ten days. The following are the factors that you should put in mind:
Pre-Ramadan Packages: If large gatherings of people are not want, then attending Umrah before Ramadan reaches its climax would be a good option for one to go for the pre-Ramadan packages.
Last Ten Days: The last 10 days ramadan umrah packages 2025 are crucial in the context that they coincide with Laylat al-Qadr. In this case if such a requirement is borne in mind, then prepare to encounter tougher demand conditions as well as premium pricing.
Flexibility: Make sure that your travel package is flexible enough to accommodate changes arising from flight schedules, health issues and other unexpected events.
4. Evaluate Your Finances
Ramadan Umrah packages are available at rates ranging from the lower end of the scale to the upper end. To get the most suitable rate, one has to consider the following factors:
Budget Distribution: It is crucial to evaluate the total price and the content of the offers. Such items as direct flight, food, or touring may be excluded from the cheaper package.
Joint Action versus Independent Participation: As much as group packages are less expensive, getting a small group or private tours would be more beneficial as it tends to be hassle free.
Undisclosed costs: Be keen on extra payments such as the issuance of visa, transfer to the airport, a meal where the guide is provided, and any other outside the package.
5. Seek Reviews And Testimonials
Make sure to seek the feedback or recommendations of some of the previous pilgrims who took a trip courtesy of the same travel agency. This testimony can be a good source of information to judge the quality of the services rendered and the quality of the customer support as well as the client satisfaction with the package as a whole.
6. Health And Safety Matters
Particularly in view of the warmth, extended periods of worship, and also while fasting, Ramadan Umrah can be a strenuous activity. It is therefore crucial to ensure that your package features:
Medical Assistance: Certain providers offer to give some medical care or provide travel policies that meet health needs for emergency situations.
Accessibility: For those who have health problems, consider packages that provide necessary transport and accommodation that are appropriate to your requirements.
Safety Protocols: Considering the current global health crisis, make sure the package does not violate any safety standards regarding COVID-19, or will allow cancellation when need be.
7. Group or Solo Packages
In case you like order, group packages might be perfect for you. It's usually the case that specific itineraries are included as part of the package which come in handy considering it's your first time performing umrah. For a more personal experience, a solo or custom package will be more appropriate as there are less restrictions which allow you to arrange your days and the activities that you will partake in as you see fit.
8. Book Early for Better Availability
Since Ramadan is one of the peak seasons for Umrah, make sure you book your package much earlier. The closer one gets to the Ramadan, people will have fewer options as to which accommodation to choose, more so when it comes to those that are nearalamu or masjid al-nabawi. Booking in advance also presents one with the chance of getting better pricing.
9. Customer Service and Support
In their pilgrimage, every individual or Islamic group has to hire the services the Umrah Journey Company and therefore abnormality in service rehearse should be discouraged by any respectable and honest umrah saudi. Be sure to ask all your questions and if any issue occurs while in Saudi Arabia, look for local assistance.
Conclusion: Choose With Intention
It is crucial to choose an Umrah in ramadan package for the first time or the second, and even the third time, in order to best achieve the spiritual objectives of the pilgrimage, as well as to meet a budget and travel requirements. Do not rush and explain to each potential client all their concerns, compare various packages, so in the end the client can select the best value. But with proper arrangements, Ramadan umrah can be very eye-opening and life-changing.

Are You Allowed to Sleep in Ihram State?
Tumblr media
You are permissible to sleep in Ihram state, and there is nothing wrong with it. For example, if you just landed in Jeddah and checked in at your hotel, and you are already in Ihram state, you can sleep and rest before performing Umrah. Whether sleeping in the Ihram state before or during Umrah is permissible but comes with certain rules and restrictions.
In this blog, you’ll get a definitive guide on how you can sleep in Ihram state before and during Umrah, its rules and restrictions, what are some misconceptions, etc. Ihram is a state in which pilgrims wear specific clothes and make the Niyyah of performing Umrah or Hajj.
What are the Rules of Ihram?
During Umrah, pilgrims must follow some rules, which can also be said as they have some restrictions on them when they get into Ihram state. Men need to put on two separate pieces of white fabric called Riba and Izar and should not cover their heads with a cap or turban. Women can wear simple modest clothes that follow Islamic rules and must use a Hijab or headscarf to hide their heads and hair, but they can't hide their faces and hands.
In Ihram state, pilgrims are not allowed to engage in arguments or fights, can’t cut hair or nails, and are prohibited from using perfumes. Hunting and getting involved in any sexual activity is also not permissible. The Quran states, “Lawful to you is game from the sea… but forbidden is game from the land as long as you are in the state of Ihram” (Quran 5:96).
Can You Sleep While Wearing Ihram?
There are many restrictions on a pilgrim while in Ihram state, but pilgrims are allowed to sleep in Ihram state this brings up a question: Can you sleep in an Ihram dress? You need to keep your Ihram clean and pure, so it's best to take off the Ihram garments and use a blanket or sheet to cover up. Also, remember that you can't wear any sewn clothes so be careful not to put them on.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “There is no harm if one delays Umrah to rest” (Al-Bukhari). This proves how vital self-care is. Also, look for a peaceful area to sleep so you can unwind and prepare for your worship.
Common Misconceptions About Sleeping in Ihram
There are quite a lot of myths and wrong talks about the things related to Ihram. The below clarification is to clear your doubts regarding misconceptions.
One thing Many people say you can’t sleep in this state, but you are permitted to do so, and there is no penalty for sleeping in Ihram state if you follow a few rules and guidelines.
One more is you can’t remove Ihram's clothes, but you can remove them with no restriction, sleep without them, and avoid wearing stitched clothes.
Sleeping is necessary if you have come to Makkah after traveling quite far. Long traveling will burn you out, so the best approach to do Umrah is to rest well and then start Umrah with a fresh and relaxed mindset. Keep in mind to follow the guidelines listed above so you don’t make any mistake in the Ihram state and don’t have to offer a penalty or invalidation of Ihram.
Conclusion
To conclude, yes, it is entirely permissible to sleep in the Ihram state, but make sure you don’t wear anything that is made up of stitched fabric, as it will invalidate your Ihram state. Resting is the best idea to perform Umrah or Hajj with a relaxed and focused mind. This way, you can perform the rituals with ease, comfort, and devotion.
