As you said, in response to a previous ask, the younger alphas would be less prone to sledging omegas, but actually all of the alphas named in that ask have had at least one fight with VK over the years 😂😂😂😂😂
VK sledged Jonny absolutely unprovoked in an England game, probably during 2021/22, which backfired like a bitch for us because Jonny went on to score a century in that game. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ Sorry VK, I love you and your feistiness, but you should have kept your mouth shut here.
VK and Jimmy have had so many sledging episodes honestly! The most recent one came in the 2022 series, when VK absolutely went for Jimmy while standing at the non-striker's end. Kept telling Jimmy that he was an old man (😭😂), and that it wasn't his backyard (they were playing at Lords 😭). Although if VK is to be believed, Jimmy had started the verbals, first by swearing at Jasprit Bumrah while facing an over from him during England's batting, and then, apparently by calling VK "a f*cking pr*ck" for running on the pitch. VK said as much.
VK and Ben have also been involved in a verbal duel, again in the 2021 series. According to VK, this started because Ben was sledging Siraj, and VK leapt to his defence, and got all up in Ben's face, pointing fingers and what not. After being separated by the umpires, VK encouraged Rishabh to continue sledging Ben from behind the stumps. This particular encounter is very interesting to me, because I headcanon all of VK, Siraj and Rishabh as omegas and Ben as an alpha. 🫣🤭 So if Ben was really going at Siraj....
Again, during the 2021 series, this time during the T20 leg of the tour, VK and Jos had a bit of a confrontation after Jos' wicket. Jos was walking towards the pavilion, and VK decided he had to give him an animated send-off 🙄 which obvio didn't sit well with Butler. The two of them had some back and forth but the umpires intervened before it could go any further.
VK again had a go at Ollie Robinson during the same series, when the latter had come out to bat, and called him a big mouth. Also damn VK, honey, what had gotten into you during this series? Sledging English players left, right and centre like that! 🤣🤣🤣
Honestly, it looks to me like it was VK who started sledging the alphas here and they retaliated after receiving a barrage of expletives, not the other way round. Think VK has gotten so used to the older alphas sledging him and the verbal volleys motivating him to perform well, that when the alphas don't initiate the banter, he initiates it himself, because a) it gives him the kick he needs to perform well and b) it distracts the opposition as well.
The whole VK fighting alphas on the pitch things really does track in overse because he's always, and I mean always, felt and feeling he's fighting for his place, being the trailblazer to bring other omegas into the game. He's constantly fighting to be seen as more than 'the little omega that could' - he wants to be seen as a great player, not an outstanding omega.
He'll fight this one until he's blue in the face, and he'll defend any omega (or probably otherwise) who he feels is being put down in the same way.
One day, they'll sledge him because he's the best player and they want him off the pitch, and the o-word won't come anywhere near the field. That's what he hopes, anyway.

The Kiwiman Daryl Mitchell is gonna be the most crucial player for CSK tonight, he's gonna dictate the terms, the fate of CSK in the game tonight. Replacing a stalwart like Ambati Rayudu at CSK is very tough, he's been a true legend of the league and to fill in the big shoes, he's the most suitable candidate because he bats in the middle order and plays spin, pace both equally well, has the timing game as well as the power game to hit effortless sixes down the ground. The potential is there, the performance has also been there for the Blackcaps. Now it's high time tonight to start replicating those in the CSK colours and repay the huge faith shown towards him, the continuous backing has to reap the Rewards tonight onwards. If he doesn't get going, CSK can't win on flat decks and shouldn't dream of clinching the record sixth title they're running running after. The bowling is the weaker side, and with the uncertainty over the availability of Pathirana, it's evident that you've to score 230+ at least at the Wankhede against this destructive MI batting lineup and Mitchell holds the key for CSK if they wanna reach that score and compete neck to neck, otherwise the game is over in the first innings itself, more so considering a full loaded gun, a magician named Jasprit Bumrah will be charging at you from the MI arsenal. The simple funda is chasing at the Wankhede, and I'd love to see Santner bowling in place of Theekshana if Baby Malinga doesn't turn up on the ground tonight. CSK will be desperate to see their two most vital weapons bowling at the death in tandem to give them some respite and a glimpse of hope against this vintage, clinical and professional MI unit. CSK badly needs Mitchell to fire tonight, he has to come good, come to the party finally, he's had a poor run up till now but they've backed him and will continue because there's no better option than Mitchell at 4, replacing Ambati. Hopefully the big game player will come to the rescue of the yellow army. Mitchell has to play long and big. He's an asset for CSK and will be the most vital wicket for MI to clinch the game in the CSK batting innings to choke them so Expect Hardik to save Boom's overs, bowl him only one in the powerplay and unleash the speedster as soon as Mitchell comes to the crease. You've to utilise your best weapon differently every game depending upon the demands of the particular match, you've to be adaptable and felxible, there's nothing called predetermined in captaincy or cricket. You've to go with your gut feel, and back your instincts, take the onus and make those instant brave calls when it's close calls and the intensity is really creeping on on the ground at the moment and you gotta have a plan B or Plan C, D in the el classico, this is a high pressure game and it's gonna decide mi rising up on the ladder, so the context is very big and with the rich legacy of the two teams, expect an intense battle, a nailbiter on the cards for all of us. You can't comment like I don't mind losing the IPL final to Mahibhai, it's written on the destiny because of the personal camaraderie when you're getting paid a whopping sum for being a professional and a skipper of a team with a rich legacy in the league, to go with. So fasten your seatbelts, it's gonna be a mouthwatering clash at our hands

Highlights of today's Day 4 Test match between India and Bangladesh: After going without a wicket in the first innings, Ashwin finished with 88 for 6. With lots of help from Ravindra Jadeja (3/58). Jadeja now has 299 wickets in Test matches.
After being bowled out on Day 1 by Bangladesh to 144 for 6, India made a great recovery. India's problems were solved by the bowling combination of Ashwin and Jadeja, who put up a 199-run partnership for the seventh wicket.
India defeated Bangladesh for 149 runs in one and a half sessions, led by Jasprit Bumrah. Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant teamed for 167 runs for the fourth wicket on Day 3 to put India ahead of the race. However, India decided not to use the follow-on. Pant scored 100 runs off 124 balls, hitting four sixes and thirteen fours. After scoring his fifth century in 161 balls, Gill stayed without losing.
Day 4: Shakib Al Hasan and Najmul Shanto, the captains of Bangladesh's overnight batters, pushed themselves well to deal with Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj's first burst. But things changed immediately after the drinks break when Ashwin was introduced.
With three more wickets from Jadeja and his 37th five-wicket take from Ashwin, Bangladesh's batting ended quickly. Najmul received a poor 82.
Starting on September 27, the second Test of the two-match series will take place in Kanpur.

India Test Squad vs Bangladesh: BCCI's Vice-Captaincy Decision Baffles Everyone
Amid the chatter around Jasprit Bumrah being potentially rested for the 2-match Test series against Bangladesh, the marquee pacer surprisingly found a place in the squad for the first Test. Wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant also marked his return to the Test side after nearly 20 months out as India announced their 16-man squad for the series opener on Sunday. While some big names returned to the squad, some prominent names missed out too. While some big names returned to the squad, some prominent names missed out too. However, another decision from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) selection committee that raised eyebrows was the absence of a designated vice-captain.
Bumrah is seen as one of the leaders in the team, alongside the likes of KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, and Virat Kohli. While Kohli doesn't want to be officially given a leadership role, Rahul and Pant are also in fray for India's long-term captaincy in the whites. But, none of them is a designated vice-captain for the Bangladesh Tests.
The board didn't explain the decision behind not naming a vice-captain either. India captain Rohit Sharma and head coach Gautam Gambhir are expected to come across this question when they address press conference ahead of the start of the Bangladesh Test series.

Shobhit Rajan, Alnoor Jamal & Nazir Mussa congratulates Team India after T-20 World Cup win over South Africa
Shobhit Rajan, Alnoor Jamal & Nazir Mussa and team congratulating Team India after the Men in Blue lifted the T20 World Cup Trophy, ending a 17-years wait.
It was India's second T20 World Cup victory after they had won it in 2007 under the legendary MS Dhoni in South Africa, and first since winning the Champions Trophy in 2013.m Star batter Virat Kohli, who was an upcoming cricketer 17 years ago, made his first fifty of this tournament in the final -- a classy 76 off 59 balls with six fours and two sixes that carried India to a competitive 176 for seven.
Then the Indian bowlers, led by Arshdeep Singh (2/20) and Jasprit Bumrah (2/18), worked their magic as they did throughout this tournament, limiting South Africa to 169 for eight to propel India to their second T20 World Cup.
There were pockets of fight from the Proteas, who were playing in their maiden World Cup final. Heinrich Klaasen threatened India with a 52 off 27 balls (2x4, 5x6) but Hardik Pandya (3/20) snatched the crucial wicket to bring the game decisively in favour of India.
But a large chunk of the credit should go to Kohli for anchoring the innings and pushing India to a fighting total.

India National Cricket Team Vs New Zealand National Cricket Team Match Scorecard
Tumblr media
In cricket, a game isn't just a show of skill; it's also a story of planning, toughness, and the kinds of moments that make sports what they are. One of these stories happened during a recent One-Day International (ODI) between New Zealand and India. It was a mix of brilliant strategy and exciting turns. This piece details New Zealand's performance and their brave effort against a strong Indian bowling lineup. India National Cricket Team Vs New Zealand National Cricket Team Match Scorecard New Zealand's innings started in tough conditions when opener Devon Conway, who is known for being tough, was caught early by Mohammed Siraj's precise line and did not score. With nine balls, he stayed at the crease, and Shreyas Iyer caught one. This made things very tight. After Conway, Will Young tried to keep things stable, but he only scored 17 runs before Mohammed Shami's deadly swing took him out, leaving New Zealand at a dangerous 19 for 2. India National Cricket Team Vs New Zealand National Cricket Team Match Scorecard: The Ravindra-Mitchell Cooperation Thanks to a great combination between Rachin Ravindra and Daryl Mitchell, the innings then underwent a radical change. Renowned for his graceful stroke play, Ravindra made a strong 75 off 87 balls to accentuate his innings with six fours and a six, so guiding the innings with a strike rate of 86.20. On the opposite side, Daryl Mitchell scored an amazing 130 from 127 deliveries, therefore playing what could only be considered as the anchor's job. With nine boundaries and five sixes, his knock not only corrected the ship but also helped New Zealand to adopt a competitive stance. India National Cricket Team Vs New Zealand National Cricket Team Match Scorecard: Middle-Order Misfortune New Zealand's middle order could not fully capitalise on the outstanding third-wicket partnership that dramatically changed the momentum. Though Glenn Phillips and Tom Latham, the skipper, had brief cameos, they were unable to translate starts into significant numbers. Trapped by Kuldeep Yadav and Phillips, caught by Rohit Sharma off Yadav once more, Latham left the Kiwis battling to increase their run rate in the vital overs. India National Cricket Team Vs New Zealand National Cricket Team Match Scorecard: Reduced Order Collapse New Zealand's batting lineup's tail swiftly came apart against India's aggressive bowling assault. Shami kept his great form, destroying the lower order and ending with a five-wicket haul. Except for the top and several middle-order batsmen, the remainder of the lineup collapsed under pressure, which helped to produce a final count of 273 all out in 50 overs. This autumn underlined the crucial part top-order batsmen play in laying a foundation—a lesson New Zealand discovered the hard way. Also read - New Zealand National Cricket Team Vs India National Cricket Team Match Scorecard India National Cricket Team Vs New Zealand National Cricket Team Match Scorecard: The Bowling Puzzle Led by Mohammed Shami's 5/54, India's bowling combined control with aggression. Shami's ability to whip the ball both ways and his talent for striking at pivotal intervals were crucial in stopping New Zealand's advancement whenever a duo appeared dangerous. Maintaining strict lines, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj assisted brilliantly by each grabbing a wicket but more importantly, they stopped the run flow. Though costly, Kuldeep Yadav proved his value as a strategic alteration in the bowling attack by grabbing vital middle-order wickets. India National Cricket Team Vs New Zealand National Cricket Team Match Scorecard: Strategic Exchanges and Decisions The game also included a tactical application of the Decision Review System (DRS), which was very important on several pivotal occasions. Early in his innings, New Zealand utilised their reviews sparingly, effectively reversing a crucial decision against Rachin Ravindra, so enabling him to build his notable score. With a disciplined approach and deliberate field placements, the Indian bowlers controlled a lineup that may have exploded. This game is evidence of the unpredictable and strategic depth of ODI cricket when stages of brilliance have to be pieced together to create a winning story. Though not winning, New Zealand's innings showed tenacity and a tale of what might have been should the bottom order have struck. The knowledge gained from such interactions transcends the scoreboard and feeds into plans for the next challenges in the always-changing game of cricket. Read the full article
