Hello! I feel like it's a strange ask but please is it possible for you or your readers to rec me long fics with m/m but with main focus being fantasy plot where I can scroll through any sex stuff if there's any? I am not a hater or smutpolice or something but life was awfully emotional lately and when I am aroused in this state it brings me to destructive behavior towards myself, but I still want to read! And already reread FFS and tIP and can't anything else X( Please and thank you!

Unfortunately I'd never rec m/m stories where the sex matters so little you can just skip past it (that's kind of against the point for me, and those stories tend to get rated 1-2 stars from me and I forget what they are, lol). And I have read stories where the sex isn't the focus (i.e. there is no sex) but I can't recall those stories since they're not what I look to reread when I'm looking for a comfort read unfortunately.

You might want to check out The Nascent Diplomat which has no sex scenes between the main characters, and the sexual scenes between Augus and Radula Enris can be skipped. It's long and m/m and the focus is fantasy and worldbuilding, and growing non-sexual closeness.

But mostly I'm posting this so others can make recommendations! I know there's stuff out there! I suspect I have fics like this in my bookmarks, but I have over 1000 bookmarks so they're hard to find.

ETA: The anon followed up to say they also can't handle anything with themes around alone-sickness (so presumably no stories that focus on being lonely either, which might make this a lot more difficult to have recs for!)

I really wanted to have that fic have various people give different definitions on what love is... is it an emotion, a desire, an action? Everyone has their own answer based on their own experience and understanding of it. Also Morgan's memory issues are always a blast to write <3

The problem with reading fandom stuff while not being a native English-speaker is the constant need to check words for credibility

There is a ton of made up words in ATLA and it's fanfiction, and my vocabulary may be pretty vast, but it is certainly not all-encompassing, so I often have NO IDEA if that is a word I just have never encountered before or is it invented by the dude who wrote it.

Lumberjack sounds like a made up Avatar animal. It sounds like jackbird. Or JACKRABBIT, dammit. That one clearly sounds like a hybrid. You know. A hybrid of a rabbit with Jack, whoever that might be. Why not just use the word hare for an animal which is an American hare? Wtf is with all the JACKS in the language anyway??? Is it such a good name people just cram it in everything??

I once lost an honour hour of my life trying to google a macguffin called 'restless steel' which, uh, somehow reacts to high temperatures, I didn't really get it, but it sounded like a real type of specific metal. You know, like stainless steel?.. The search resulted in ball-bearing shop pages, of all things, leaving me confused until I gathered the brain cells to check the comments on the fic I was reading.

And then there are puns, like Buzzard Wasps, because 'buzzard' is simultaniously a bird and a sound, and you need to be familiar with both meanings to get it, and oof.

If being honest i had similar struggles in The Owl House fandom sometimes, but puns there are usually a bit more obvious as they are heavily halloween-themed, like. SPOOKETTY WITH EYEBALLS. And such.

Fanfiction is an educational hobby, you see... very frustrating as well x,D

I decided to draw this while I had trouble with the story boards for the next page of JBvsTW. I think this looks great and I’m very proud of it so I’ll share it here with you guys while I finish the latest page.

Albite scars

Yes it’s not the best- still isn’t 100% what I would want but it’s a bit better :D

N-30, quite a bit of different skin coloration (mostly because he’s a idiot and doesn't use sunblock and his spots burn :/)

Angle, one big scar on the face a few small ones on her hands. A few small moles if ya look close :D

Olí, his face and torso both are torn up by shrapnel different events. Quite a few moles/ freckles around.

Jackbird scars on his hands arms and legs from just being clumsy. Most are burns from working on machines. Also lots of blush on his face and a few other spots

Hikari small scars. Lots of freckles all over her, also tattoos. The fake socks were a dare during college, she followed through. The glove was added soon after because she liked the design.

Star lots of scars the one on her knee has had a sever impact on her. Most are from working and either being a shield for others or her not reacting in time. She’s quite proud of her scars unlike the others

You're 100% right that movie critics and moviegoers are judging based on different things. I'm not sure why this is news to some people. It's not that unusual for there to be a disparity between critical ratings vs audience ratings. Critics are asked to /objectively/ judge a piece of media as good or bad, which is a tall order. Most moviegoers are judging whether they were personally satisfied by the movie. The two can be related, but are not the same thing.
