I just saw that post about character misconception in fandom and Adam and I just realized• isn't it weird that Lute doesn't receive the same treatment? Like most of the times, people will agree that she's a bitch and a genocidal monster, but with Adam it's the "he had every right to act like this for x and z reasons" from the (chronically online) fangirls or the religious conservative fanboys? Why is that?

#Answered #NO FOR REAL #The reason that happens to Adam is because he is subjected to “Draco in Leather Pants Syndrome”#(term from TVTropes)#Which is almost EXCLUSIVELY applied to male characters #Particularly male characters who are considered attractive #Hence the massive turnaround in how Adam was seen perceived and treated by the fandom once his face was shown #Lute is female #So she doesn't receive the same treatment #It's the same reason why Alastor is put on a pedestal while Vaggie is largely ignored #And Vaggie is critiqued as flat #When she actually had MORE character development than Alastor #Who did not receive a drop of growth in the entire first season #And had about the same amount of characterization #Hazbin Hotel
