Once again I am staring at my unhinged circus novella and wondering how to connect the last two scenes. Also I'm wondering if the story has a specific purpose to it because this feels like the kind of thing people would love to dissect for a deeper meaning that may or may not actually exist.

The whole thing just feels so surreal and I love it dearly but also it hurts every time I read the torture I put the narrator through. Also the lore behind the circus is basically never explained so it just kind of exists haha. (I'd love to just randomly publish this story someday and prompt people to wonder what the heck is happening in my mind.)
