Really do love the original Ace Attorney character designs and I’m really not a fan of the way they shifted in AA5 (like many other good things in the games...). Originally the important characters looked like wacky cartoonish versions of real people, but in AA5 they just become fully cartoony and don’t even have that real-world grounding at all. I can’t really explain it but they also just become way more cluttered like they’re throwing random design elements at the wall and seeing what sticks. Athena's and Blackquill designs are bad (honestly Blackquill’s suit is great but the skunk hair just throws it all off), but it also extends to side charas like Prof Means, wtf was going on there!
