Imagine if Bass gets a team it's gonna be like Kuromi's gang (I mean the Kuromify the world version)
The leader - Very self explanatory, Bass and Kuromi have pretty similar characteristics. They're goths and have a purple assistant.
Treble - He and Baku-san are similar(ish?) but Baku-san is able to stand on twos and can talk.
Ur Gurl...? - I was thinking like Piano or idk.
The Nervous Wreck - DUBSTEP MAN. There is no other choice, I CAN ALREADY SEE THE COMPARISON BETWEEN COLLIMO AND DUBSTEP MAN.
I hvn't ThOught abt anyting fo da bby.

you ever write up a combination of words you're really proud of at the time bc you think it's vivid but it's actually so atrocious that you remember it eight years later bc it's burned itself into your long-term memory? just me?
#i'm literally laughing my entire ass off rn. i can't believe i found this fic i wrote at 15 and orphaned when i came to my senses abt both#my complete inability and total aversion to writing first person as well as the fact that the english language should never have been#subjected to its words being done dirty like this 😭#also i straight up fucking LIED in the authors note??? i said i'd broken my knee as a kid which is categorically false. i fell down some#stairs and banged it up and it's a tiny bit weak ig but i didn't break it? all any teens born after y2k know is eat hot chip and lie...#still not over the first line... the flip flop bit i remembered but i'd COMPLETELY forgotten 'a shriek seeped out of my throat'. girl. what.#how does a shriek seep exactly? the world may never know...#and the use of 'groped' is also sending me 😭 AND 'crash bash whump thump' girlllll send help holy shit i can't stop coughing & laughing#the rest of the fic isn't quite this bad but it's very purple yet ineloquent and rough. it's a good reminder of how much i've improved and#honestly i'd rather read this utterly amature fic bc it's at least charming in its lack of skill rather than infuriating like some of my#oneshots that are still on my page bc they're more comprehensible but just bad enough to make me cringe. getting mad at this oneshot would#be like getting bad at a kid's stick figure drawing. like. it's just kinda cute to see someone starting out on their creative journey#my old sw oneshots on the other hand are like the awkward growing pains of puberty. you just can't help but wince at the reminder#this is okay to reblog btw bc it's objectively hilarious and i don't mind ppl finding humor in it#len speaks

Cold Hard Truths
Disclaimer: this story is not for fans of the Peter/Gwen ship! If you are a diehard shipper of them and dislike anything that pokes holes in that ship, do not read! On the flip-side, this is not a story that bashes anyone. It does, however, cast a critical light on Gwen Stacy and her canon choices.
Summary: Peter has very different feelings about the kiss on Thanksgiving than in canon and as much as he cares about Gwen, there are some things to air out if either of them can move forward.
As Peter continued to skate a little more away from Liz and Flash, he heard the scrape of approaching skates and looked up to find Gwen coming near him. He started to wave but the look on her face stopped him.
"You've been avoiding me all week long!"
"What?"
Peter recalled when he had tried contacting Gwen earlier only to get told she wasn't available by her dad when Peter could clearly hear her voice in the background. Didn't she not want to talk to him? He was already getting more confused by the second as to what this was all about.
She crossed her arms and glared a little, "I won't be your second choice."
Peter really didn't feel like chasing her down to tell her his side of things AGAIN so he grabbed her shoulder, "Okay, look. I was going to tell you this over the phone but maybe this works out better doing this in person. . ."
She turned to look at him with curious, hopeful eyes.
He internally cringed. Saying this was going to SUCK. He took a deep breath and formed the words, "I don't see you as anything more than a friend."
Gwen's jaw dropped, "WHAT?!
People started to look their way, so she hunched her shoulders and dropped her voice, "I mean, you-you don't. . ."
Peter rubbed his eyes and sighed, "No, I don't. I'm sorry."
Gwen looked away, "Then. . .the kiss and the hints I gave. . ."
"Hints? I didn't realize you felt anything like that until you kissed me on Thanksgiving. And I was kinda too much in shock when you kissed me to say anything, " he stated, rather bluntly.
"Oh. . .I see."
She clearly didn't.
Peter felt awful seeing the hurt in her eyes, but it had to be said. The one good thing about the avoidance was that he had some time to review what he felt and ask May for advice. Surprisingly, his aunt was very supportive of his lack of feelings towards Gwen.
*flashback*
"Dear, you don't need to feel guilty about not returning someone's feelings. There's going to be no easy way to say something like this, especially to such an old friend."
Peter frowned, "But what if I say the wrong thing and end the friendship?"
His aunt shook her head, "Peter, unless you say something intentionally cruel and further trample the poor girl's feelings, it won't be you who ends the friendship. Whatever flaws in your upbringing or in you, I know for a fact that you are not naturally cruel nor did we raise to be so. Be straightforward but also be as kind as you can afford to be."
His shoulders deflated, "And if she ends the friendship? Won't it still be my fault?"
At this, May Parker took her nephew's face in her hands and spoke, "That would rest entirely on Gwen's shoulders. If she can't handle being 'just friends' then maybe she was never a friend in the first place. Friendship has a very special place in life and should never be undervalued or tossed away lightly. When Mary-Jane told you she wasn't ready for a serious relationship, did you stop hanging around her or enjoying her company even though you were a little hurt?"
"No. You're right, Aunt May. Thank you."
She patted his cheek, "Don't mention it, Peter. It's what mothers do."
*end of flashback*
"I-Gwen, I've always appreciated your friendship and I hope we can keep that going still! Just because I don't feel anything romantic between us doesn't mean I don't still care about you," Peter said while gently gripping her shoulders.
She remained silent both her head and eyes turned downwards.
He looked at her pleadingly, "Forget thinking about me in that way and move on, alright? You'll find that someone at some point and I'll support you 100%. Well, maybe not if they're a serial killer or abusive or something. Other than that I'm behind whoever you choose."
Peter thought he saw her lips twitch at that last part and gave her one last squeeze before letting go.
"Give yourself some time to adjust, alright? I'll see you. . .when I see you," he awkwardly stated before skating away.
Great note to end that on, Parker, he thought. Gah! He could have kicked himself for making THAT his conversation ender. However, before he could further berate himself on his choice of phrasing. . .
"Tiger, can we talk?"
Since only one person calls Peter that nickname, it wasn't exactly hard to guess the next person coming up to him.
"Oh, hey MJ. Sure, I guess. What do you need?"
Mary-Jane Watson looked much less carefree than usual and her next words showed this.
"What'd you say to Gwen? She looks like you told her Christmas was canceled."
He grimaced.
Wonderful, the rumors are practically starting already. Knowing how gossip mills love a bad guy, Peter will probably be made out to be the next Satan by the time the week is over.
"To make a long story short: she likes me beyond our friendship and I. . .had to explain that I don't see her like that."
MJ's eyes widened and she uncrossed her arms in shock.
"Peter," she said slowly, "she's had feelings for you since the third grade."
Oof. Now he feels worse.
"Oh, wonderful. That's not the best thing to hear when you're hoping for someone to move on quickly."
MJ frowned, "Do you really think Gwen's the one you should be writing off? She's been waiting for you for years and Liz only just started giving you the time of day. And even that still seems divided between you and Flash."
Peter shook his head. "First off, they literally just broke up this fall so of course they aren't over each other yet. Point two, Gwen could have told me much earlier than this year and we could resolved all this ages ago. Point three, neither of those previous points compare to the fact that I can't FORCE myself to like her like that."
"No one's saying you have to force yourself, Tiger. I'm just wondering if you've thought this through enough. You're not a neanderthal by a longshot, but you don't always know how to go about things like feelings. Maybe you should be giving yourself some time to really think before talking like that."
Her voice was set in a soft, coaxing tone but Peter was so done with this conversation and everything else today.
"I've had since Thanksgiving to think about it since she wouldn't return my calls. AND she had her dad stonewall me when the phone was picked up. I heard her talking in the background when he answered the phone, MJ. All she had to say was 'hey, I need some time to think before we talk' and I'd have been happy to wait. But I had no idea what was going on with her at all. If she's loved me since the third grade and we've been friends for even longer than that, why is it SO HARD for her to communicate with me what she wants?"
He knew it was kind of unfair, venting at MJ like this, but he couldn't say this to Gwen after he already took a sledgehammer to her feelings.
She had paused for a long moment and Peter was tempted to skate away like he had previous conversation, when she opened her mouth once more, "She didn't want to ruin the friendship she has with you."
He looked away for a moment before speaking, "I don't want that, either, but it's kinda hard to keep a friendship alive if it's this painful for us to talk to each other. As the social expert between the two of us, Mary-Jane, how much more difficult is it to keep a long-term romance alive if this kind of thing happens all the time?"
Dead silence was his answer as he pinned her stunned face with a searching look, ". . .Yeah. That's what I figured."
His voice held no hints of mockery, just tired expectance.
This time he didn't even bother with excusing himself; Peter just skated in the direction of the hot chocolate stand. Solitude and hot chocolate would really go a long way to improving his mood.
It would be not long after this thought that a lightning bolt hit the ice rink.

oooh the last two anon replies got me fired up so here's my manifesto i guess.
the universal hating on lin manuel miranda comes down to a few factors that most of the time have nothing to do with his actual mistakes:
their cringe history is reflected in him and they can't deal with it. let it be known that it is not lin who created miku binder jefferson. that was entirely a monster of our making. and somehow, his enthusiasm and willingness to interact with fan content (i remember everyone loving him for it) is worthy of punishment in relation.
he's an easy scapegoat to dump criticism on because people already feel so comfortable speaking on him. like you said, it's crazy that people will paint out lin manuel miranda, the guy who changed broadway and did so much for POC roles, to be the big baddie. he's made mistakes, and there's a lot we can discuss about hamilton's legacy, etc., but damn. where's this energy for everyone else? is it a case of "he actually tried, therefore we have material to latch onto and tear down?"
a lot of what he does is successful and in the public eye! it's crazy but i see people going "why is lin manuel miranda in everything" about projects from the 2000s, like yeahh he didn't just make hamilton and then disappear for your own convenience. if anything it's a statement about how a lot of his work, like it or not, is remembered over time. the reaction to him being in percy jackson was crazy to me because i KNOW for a fact that you did not see his dark materials or tick tick boom; at most you know him from moana and hamilton. and then complaining that he "threatened disney to be in everything they do" smh.
he's not your typical white boy of the month. this might be a loaded statement but sue me, i think it's true. POC celebrities have a limited amount of time in the sun compared to white celebrities. a white actor having multiple roles in a year is okay, and it means they're a hard worker. but when it's a POC actor, their presence is conspicuous. their presence becomes bothersome. public goodwill dries up so much faster. even pedro pascal, i feel, has been talked about with eye-rolls recently. i read a very interesting paper about this.
it's fun! the internet's chosen him as their punching bag, and there are no consequences to online hating if everyone else agrees. i bet a lot of people think they're just joking.
and all of this makes it such that if they do find out about some of his actual mistakes, it's a relief. i legitimately saw a tiktok comment section filled with bashing, and someone said "this is so hilarious but kinda mean, the guy didn't do anything" and someone said with "actually he did this this and this" and they replied "oh thank god, i don't feel bad now!" so it's not "oh let's see if this person improved" it's "phew! i have a legitimate reason to continue what i've been doing all along!"
it's crazy because i'm not even a lmm fan necessarily. i've just been in the musical community for years and noticed all of this happening surrounding his very popular work. you all will rue the day! 10 yrs later or so people are going to start making those "he deserved better" posts but i will not forgive or forget.
i don't know if you want me to respond to every single thing you wrote here, but i appreciate the message, especially when it comes from someone who's not really a fan - it only shows me that it's possible not to be in the fandom & still be respectful.
don't even get me started on miku binder jefferson, it's probably the most ridiculous thing i've ever seen in my life. also, one thing i need to point out is that NOT EVERYONE in this fandom is like that, & i think i'm a perfect example of a person who just enjoys lin's art & likes talking about it & analizing things, but not enjoying all those weird cringe things that were created by the fandom (like the one you mentioned), so like... maybe a certain part of the fandom was the problem, not the creator of the thing? i have nothing against fanfiction in general, nothing against fanarts but like... some people are ruining the thing cause it's just too much. like the famous lmm cannibal mermaid fanfiction, come on guys, be serious, what the actual fuck???
i also agree with the percy jackson thing, i remember seeing all the hate even before the episode with him dropped & honestly i couldn't stand it, the pjo fandom ruined all the fun for me & i literally had to block pjo tag lol. then the episode was out & everyone was suddenly like OH, HE WAS ACTUALLY GOOD, well guess what bitch, i've been saying this all the time, he is actually a good actor & you are just a miserable hater. this fandom is toxic as fuck. also, you think he's everywhere? i do know a lot of other celebrities who actually ARE everywhere these days & somehow no one is sick of them??? so maybe people really are just racists. also, this is literally his job lol what do you expect him to do, disappear forever?
i will not forgive or forget either. like i said before, i'm aware that he made some mistakes, it's not like he didn't apologize for some of them, also he's not perfect, but no one is. all i'm trying to say is that there are more problematic people but somehow everyone feels the need to hate on him. you picked the wrong guy, just let him be.

I've been thinking lately about the hate on the MCU that goes around on Tumblr. Because usually I just srcoll pats it you know? I like it, you don't, that's fine hate on anything you want I'll just move on with my life.
But there's a certain air of superiority that comes with it. Like I see people here that will ridicule the MCU and get on a high horse for it like their tastes are so superior because of it when they are, as any normal person would, liking and sharing content from equally mediocre or "cringe" media.
I've seen people saying the MCU is thrash while rbing Sonic The Hedgehog fanart. I've read people argue how bad the MCU is followed by a six paragraph post about klance and Voltron's writing (well back when it was popular here of course). I've watched someone bash the MCU and then go on a rb spree of panels from the Big Two comic book companies.
And I want to kinda go on on this point. Because, listen, comic books are a medium not a genre, there are loads of incredible stories but from stablished companies and indie authors, but when it comes to companies like Marvel and DC I thought it was common knowledge in reading circles that they are mostly TRASH, like genuine garbage, like I can't even say that there's ooc stuff there because there are so many decades of writing and writers that there is no actual "canon" interpretation of a character it's just a jumble of characteristics thrown around to work with the current narrative. Every once in a while you get to one that blows your mind, that changes your whole world view and you think "wow I love comic books!" And then it's trash again for a while. The best you can do is pick your favorite writer like King, Taylor, Morrison, etc and HOPE they will work on a character you like.
And that's okay! Not every issue has to be world changing and as long as you're having fun that's fine! But the thing is this ALSO applies to the MCU.
And I get the criticisms, the MCU is backed by the US Army, it doesn't develop meaningful relationships most of the time, and such but like...you do know that that also applies to most comic books from the Big Two, Sonic and Voltron?
Sonic The Hedgehog is known for his bad games where maybe one every 15 will be actually enjoyable not to mention the plot and the characters are almost non existent, and both Sonic movies are fun as hell AND backed by the US Army.
Voltron was...you know what I don't even have to say it that's a low blow sorry.
Comics from DC and Marvel are mostly tools to sell toys, have been used to push conservative propaganda many times in the past, they routinely take pointers from news organizations, the NBA and of course the US Army with many others. Marvel made personifications of common drugs for the heroes to fight like c'mon!
All of this feels weird to me because I see the same people going like "enjoy what you like! Kill cringe culture! You're not better than everyone else!" And go straight to bashing people for liking something that has the same issues that they enjoy.
Look, I get it, if you don't like the MCU that's cool, again, hate as much as you want I'll move on with my day but... I think you might want to question what exactly is making you believe that you are "above" liking something.

- ͙۪۪̥˚┊❛ Heeseung ❜┊˚ ͙۪۪̥◌
he always appreciates when you make him caffeinated drinks or small snacks during late night gaming sessions
so when he finds out you're working at the new internet café downtown he was ECSTATIC (if internet cafés don't actually serve food or coffee or whatever i'm sorry i've never been to one 😭)
he never bothers you when you're working, but he'll come in and order a drink
and then once he's seated he just glances at you from time to time, admiring how well you work with the customers <3
bc Lord knows you deserve the appreciation for putting up w working in the food industry
- ͙۪۪̥˚┊❛ Jay ❜┊˚ ͙۪۪̥◌
he loves loves loves it
sometimes he comes in to order a coffee or smth when you're on shift
and he just sits at his table, admiring you in your element 🥰
i feel like he really appreciates candid moments with or of his partner so he loves watching you do your thing
also if your café doesn't have a uniform he lovesss seeing the outfits you pick
bc like obvi you're gonna dress up and get all cute and cozy
otherwise what's the point of working at a café
sometimes you even let him pick out your outfit and mans goes ham
plenty of my moots can testify to this, i think that brown is THE best colour in fashion
and it's the perfect colour for a cute barista like yourself to wear
so i think he'd pick an outfit based on that + cozy vibes, like cottagecore academia??
and he'd probs prepare a matching outfit for himself on these days <3 he's so cringe for it but i love him
anyways Jay when s/o is barista-ing = in love
- ͙۪۪̥˚┊❛ Jake ❜┊˚ ͙۪۪̥◌
he always shows you off
like he and some friends or the members will go to your café to hang out
and if you're working the register or making the brews he points at you and goes "see them?? they're my partner 😌 jealous??"
bc like,,, who wouldn't be jealous of him, he's dating you
cutie -3-
gives you tips every time he comes in
you're always like "whatttt you don't have toooo why would you waste your money like that" but it's in the telling-your-relatives-no-the-first-time-they-offer-then-accepting way of rejecting
false kindness and bashfulness, i like your strategy
he's so proud of you, his cute lil barista
- ͙۪۪̥˚┊❛ Sunghoon ❜┊˚ ͙۪۪̥◌
will wait in line every time you have a shift just to flirt with you
"i'd like a breakfast sandwich with a side of you to go"
what a dork
he actually bothers you on shift SO MUCH but you don't really mind
or maybe you do idk your life maybe you're trying to make that bank and i respect that
defo comes in EVERY shift you have just to watch you and make sure you're safe bc there are creeps out there :(
as much as he likes to pretend he does it to bother you and make jokes he's really just protective of you and wants to make sure you're okay STOP i'm so in love ✋
- ͙۪۪̥˚┊❛ Sunoo ❜┊˚ ͙۪۪̥◌
he always asks for randomized latte art bc he likes seeing what you make for him
more often than not it's some cute critter or a lil sun bc he's your sunny boy
he loves coming towards the end of your shifts so that y'all can have a lil date together over some coffee
he even pays <33 but insists that you use your employee discount (if you have one idk how the food industry works)
which you don't mind doing bc like saving money and being responsible with your spending is attractive don't judge me on that
he's so precious, he always encourages you after a day with particularly rude customers
what a sweetheart
- ͙۪۪̥˚┊❛ Jungwon ❜┊˚ ͙۪۪̥◌
i feel like he doesn't actually come into your work a lot ?
but that's just bc he doesn't wanna bother you
you've told him repeatedly that you don't mind him coming in on shift, esp if it's kinda boring and not super busy
but he doesn't out of respect HE'S SO PERFECT UGH 😩🤍
however he does enjoy dropping you off and picking you up to make sure that you're safe and had a good day (my brother does this with his gf it's so sweet)
sometimes you make him drinks when he pulls all nighters studying and he's so 🥺🥺every time you do
even tho he doesn't see you working very often he still notices the skills work taught you and loves them a lot
- ͙۪۪̥˚┊❛ Ni-ki ❜┊˚ ͙۪۪̥◌
he's only dating you for discounted pastries /J I'M KIDDING he loves u <3
he actually thinks it's so neat that you're a barista bc like . that's his partner 🥺
idk something in him goes 💖💖💖 (like specifically the sparkly hearts) when he sees you working, esp when you're making food
maybe he just likes eating who knows
or maybe you're just extra attractive (if it's possible for you to get more attractive) when baking
i vote the latter
bc you're just so in your element and it's like this candid domestic moment despite it being in the work place
and he admires you so much

(v.) the act of loving someone in return.
a/n: the final part of the cheating triology.
kirishima and midoriya’s part.
bakugo x gn reader
warnings: cheating, panic attack (kinda), suggestive, crying
Tumblr media
pro-hero dynamight didn't have the best rep with the press, if his exhausted pr team was anything to go by. seldom were there headlines about him without outburst or, the media's favorite little play on words, explosive following suit.
then, suddenly, his brash behavior had stopped. it was so abrupt that no one even noticed at first.
once they did, the questions came flooding in. many of them were speculations of anger management classes or something of that nature. in the end, they were all denied until the big question came:
'are you in a relationship?'
it was confirmed, and the crowd went wild. within days there were tabloids of 'pro-hero dynamight's secret lover: who could it be?'
it was innocent at first; just plain curiosity about a public figure.
but then it got deeper. talk shows got psychologists to give professional insight as to how a relationship with someone like dynamight would be.
as expected, it wasn't positive. and soon enough, everyone on the internet was bashing dynamight for being dangerous or violent, specifically towards his lover, whom they knew nothing about.
you'd rub the tension out of his shoulders at the end of the day, reminding him that he was good, no matter what the media had to say. they didn't know him like you did.
your comfort and reassurance usually calmed him down and left him grumbling, "i didn't even care anyways."
so he took the criticism. and he took the bashing, the false speculation—and he kept moving forward.
that is, until someone thought it'd be fun to make a 'top ten pro-heroes who'd cheat' blog post that went absolutely viral. it reached every corner of the internet, even getting mentioned in the news as outraged heroes demanded the website be removed.
the number one spot, the one bakugo had yearned for, was his.
but not in the way he wanted.
being ranked most likely to cheat did a number on his behavior, both in public and private. he was more distant and less explosive, which somehow spurred the press on more.
they concluded that he cleaned up his act because the blog was right and he wanted to create a better image for himself. that wasn't true at all—he was just tired.
so tired, in fact, that he proved the rumors right.
denki was draped over your couch, watching some game show on tv when you found out. the two of you had planned to hang out for a bit and watch a movie at the cinema, but nothing good was showing, so you ultimately decided to head back to your place.
your shared place. with bakugo.
you assumed it was one of his late nights since he wasn't home, so you started cooking dinner, making small talk with denki.
"so you can go swimming, then?" you quirked a brow, poking your head into the living room.
"yeah, just as long as i don't activate my quirk, you know?" denki opened his mouth to explain further, but the front door messily slammed open, beating him to it.
and there he was. bakugo katsuki.
with someone else in his arms, his face nearly being eaten as they pushed back and forth against each other.
everything stopped the moment he made eye contact with you. the kissing stopped, your brain stopped—it even felt like the tv was muted.
even worse was that his eyes held no remorse. just a little surprise, like finding your old charger after buying a new one.
"thought you were hanging out with dunce face," his voice was gruff, low and sultry as his gazed burned into you with... impatience?
"katsuki, what're you.." you mumbled out, brain still trying to process the sight before you, "why're you.."
"didn't think you'd be back already." he shrugged, gaze shifting back to the person he was with. and only then did his brows relax, lips tugging up into a smile. "now, if you'll excuse us.."
he tried to walk past you, but you shoved his chest, "what the hell are you doing?" you nearly screamed, eyes red and burning with tears.
"haven't you heard the rumors, y/n? i'm a cheater. you don't need to be with someone like me."
you saw the flash of hurt in his eyes, but even that couldn't overpower the utter devastation pooling all the way from your chest to your toes. oh, it hurt.
"kami," you whispered desperately once they were gone—in the room that you used to sleep in—head starting to swim, "kami, help me, please."
you didn't even know what you wanted him to help you with. you just wanted everything to stop.
he rushed to your side, finally snapping out of his shocked daze. his arms were around you in an instant, chin on top of your head, "you're okay, y/n, i'm here. it's okay."
you were shaking and sobbing into his shirt, grip tight on his unzipped jacket.
"it hurts. oh god, it hurts. kami, make it stop, please." you shuddered, and everything was suddenly too loud.
he held you tightly, letting you cry for what felt like hours.
and then he got you out of there.
BONUS:
the healing process was long and still incomplete. some days you still felt so empty, only able to complete the bare necessities to get through your day, but denki was by your side when he could be.
you'd since moved out of your shared home with bakugo and into a place of your own, which was a difficult adjustment. but with denki calling you twice a day—literally—you didn't have a chance to be lonely.
most nights he spent at your house, claiming it was because he loved your cooking.
you weren't dumb; denki flirted with you all the time. he was truly unashamed every time he greeted you with a 'hey, hottie', and bid you goodbye with a 'love you, sweetcheeks'.
it made you cringe, but it was denki, so you had to love him.
after a year of being closer than ever, he’d asked you on a date numerous times, receiving a playful 'no, you know i'm not ready for that.'
but, one time was special. one time was heartfelt and so genuine that you shed real tears. denki laid his heart bare for you, every ounce of emotions spilling out of him and onto your shirt.
"i know you're not ready, y/n, but i love you so much. i'll wait for you, i swear it!"
and after all those no's, you finally said yes.
Tumblr media
i like to think that bakugo did it for you. obviously this wasn’t the right way to go about it, but he just.. kind of got so tired of being accused of something terrible. he became the monster they swore he was. and you got caught in the crossfire. also i bolded dynamight instead of bakugo because i feel like this focuses on that part of his persona. his hero-self got too wrapped up in the media. also! kirishima was originally gonna be the new lover, but i feel like it’d be too similar to the other bakugo one i wrote.
reblogs are appreciated.

FATE: What happens when you get a bunch of middle aged white guys to adapt a cartoon for girls
Well, I just went through 6 hours of fate and I have a lot of opinions on it. Yeah, this is going to be long (slightly under 3k words) so putting it under read more and obvious spoilers.
PSA before delving right in:
1) Yes, I will be comparing to the original. Any comparisons are not through rose-tinted nostalgia glasses. There are parts here and there that I genuinely think were done better in the cartoon on a writing standpoint.
2) This is purely my opinion and overall negative. Don't like it? Don't read. I'm all up for discussion but I don't want another person crying to me about how I “ruined” their experience of the show.
3) If you like Fate then good for you. This isn’t me bashing people who like it.
I've spit it up into sub sections just for my own convince.
1. The problem with the 'I'm not like other girls' trope
This pertains to the entire Bloom-Sky-Stella love triangle. I wasn't as pressed about it compared to other winxers (and I loved Stella's and Brandon's relationship on my rewatch). In fact, I was okay with it. But then I sat down and watched the show and there's a lot of underlying problems with the love triangle. Particularly pitting Bloom and Stella against each other for Sky's affection.
Now this part of the love triangle I already didn't like. Correct me if I'm wrong, since I dropped the OG Winx after season 5 but the Winx while they did have their conflicts and arguments, never fought over a boy. I really appreciated that from the cartoon so seeing that live action would fall into that trap – I was mildly annoyed at that. Then it hit me. It's Bloom and Stella.
The seemingly ordinary girl vs the pristine princess of Solaria. If the title didn't give it away, you should get the point by now. Others have already called it by now but the "I'm not like other girl's" trope in itself, while seemingly feminist is actually misogynist. Saying the more masculine type of girl is better than the feminine is inherently misogynist. Stella, the prime princess, girly and feminine, is villainized by the love triangle. Sky's and Stella's relationship is toxic and Stella's overt co-dependence and jealousy are already big fat red signs - but Sky's and Bloom's relationship is built on how she's "different". Bloom isn't like Stella, she's "real".
2. Am I supposed to like Riven?
As the title puts it, wtf am I supposed to feel about Riven. Is he supposed to be a good guy? Do I root for him? Is he morally ambiguous? Because holy shit compared to OG!Riven, this guy is diabolical and much much worse! OG!Riven is an asshole and he teams up with the trix but his arc was very simple and easy to understand. He joins the bad guys, distances himself from the good guys, the trix betray his ass, he self-reflects in the dungeon - escapes and redeems himself. Net!Riven is so bad to the point where you can't redeem him and the writers don't even try. Freddie Thorp is good in his role. (however, he definitely doesn't pass for a 17-year-old. He's 26 and it shows) and he actually makes the cringe dialogue work. But he's way too diabolical and downright predatory. The scene where he forces Dane to gulp down his spiked drink - it’s worse seeing it than reading it. That grossed me out more than the gore.
What makes it worse, nobody properly calls him out. Beatrix kinda does on his homophobia – “Homophobic bashing by GIF” - and Sky does chastise him, but they still tolerate him. It is kinda funny in a way Sky has a whole ass arc about how he's enabling Stella's problematic behaviour by still dating her after she blinded her friend but doesn't realize he's doing the same for Riven.
The only person that really puts her foot down with Riven is Terra and nobody takes her seriously about anything she says.
Everyone is very laissez-faire around him and that's not how you respond to your friend being problematic. (Hey, kinda like the other girls sans Aisha are with Bloom!) Everyone surrounding Riven is so disgusting and the notion of him supposedly being a good guy is very hard to buy into. His whole relationship with Dane has a section of it’s own because there’s just a lot to unpack.
3. Stella I am so sorry
Tumblr media
I'm also in the majority hating how they've tarnished Stella. Basically, they turned her into the stereotypical rich bully with mommy issues.
I get that Stella has an abusive mom but that’s no excuse to be a total bitch to her roommates. And no, her roommates shouldn't accept her back with open arms. And she doesn't even redeem herself - the girls just accept her back after her mom pulls her from Alfea.
And this is also another issue with the writing were the characters suddenly just change their opinions on a whim. Suddenly Stella likes the winx, suddenly Terra misses Stella even though having that girl literally gives her anxiety. Suddenly Aisha's on Bloom's side in the end.
This isn't me simping for the cartoon out of nostalgia. I was mostly okay with the idea of Stella and Sky hooking up. But Looking at it from a creative standpoint - looking at the source material, and the many paths you can take this character, the best thing Brian Young and co. can think of for her was turning her into the stereotypical rich bully that we've seen time and time again? No deconstruction no meta take, it's played out exactly how you’d expect it.
Again, this isn't me simping for the show. Purely from a creative standpoint Stella was such a major let down. There's so much to the character and Brian Young took the easiest, saturated path.
4. That one scene with Bloom's parents
You know the one. Mike unhinges Bloom's bedroom doors and Vanessa cusses out and insults her child like a petty teen bully. Forgetting how utterly cringey that scene was, you can't have her mom go batshit insane on her child, then act like she's this loving parent that cares so deeply about her daughter. Screw that! Vanessa deserved those 3rd degree burns! She invaded her daughter's privacy. Bloom didn't even do anything wrong!
I can't buy into this narrative of Vanessa and Mike being loving parents when they do something like that. Seriously who thought that was okay?
5. Pity Parties for everyone.
I already discussed this in Stella’s section but I don’t like the “it’s okay for me be a shitty person because my life sucks :)” narrative Fate tries to pull. They did it with Stella, Bloom, Riven.
What I liked about the first season of Winx Club is Bloom’s arc and her character as a whole. Because while she went through shit, from the Trix, to finding out she was adopted, her existential crisis, not feeling like she belonged, losing the dragon flame, she went through a lot. She didn’t throw a pity party. She didn’t whine, bitch and complain. She allowed herself to feel upset, took it as it is and tried to make lemonade out of lemons. And I respect that.
Net!Bloom is agrevating. She does some dumb, reckless stuff but it’s excused because she’s the protagonist? She let the war criminal out, the school gets taken over by the bad guys because of Bloom. Faragonda fucking dies because she let the war criminal out! The burned ones attacked the school because she let the war criminal out!!! But no, Aisha’s villainized for calling Bloom out because Bloom’s existential crisis is more important then anything else.
Getting to Sky, he isn’t as bad as the others. He doesn’t become a shitty person because of his problems. (Though lowkey flirting with Bloom while he hooks up with Stella is uh not good.) But he does come across incredibly whiny. Because of the cringey dialogue and the unnecessary swearing  I can’t take his speech on opening up to Bloom seriously. I laughed throughout the whole thing and Bloom leaving his unconscious body there was the icing on the cake.
One of the few characters that deserved a pity party is Terra. She’s very much like OG!Bloom in a way. She is bullied by Dane and Riven, has body insecurities, anxiety, nobody listens to her and at most only tolerates her. Despite all the crap that is thrown her way she still reminds humble, kind, and respectful. And she is one of the few characters that deserves more support than what she got out of the season.
5. Bloom, Aisha, Tokenism and their awful relationship
I’m going to be upfront, their relationship sucks. The core of their dynamic is what Aisha can do for Bloom. It’s very one-sided. Bloom only goes to Aisha to help solve her problems, which Aisha gladly does – but when Aisha disagrees with Bloom or says something Bloom doesn’t like, Bloom suddenly goes off and Aisha’s made to be the bad guy. Even though she’s right? And Aisha has her own problems as well, shown to also struggle with her powers. But nope, that’s pushed to the back burner because Bloom needs help.
I am all for creative freedom. I can stomach Stella x actual Sky. I can stomach turning Stella into a rich mean girl. I can stomach the dark academia aesthetic but what Brian Young and co. did to Aisha is just plain racist. Screw the “it’s an adaptation” excuse. Turning this character who had a rich storyline and was a princess into a white girl’s magical negro who fixes all her problems is racist and by definition tokenism. And by whitewashing the other two characters of color, making Aisha the only poc in the group – that’s the worst thing you can do to her.
And frankly we need more black princesses on screen.
6. Dane and the homophobia of the show
Towards the show’s climax it’s revealed Dane is helping Beatrix because she accepts he’s “different”. Not only does this go back to my pity party rant but like bruh,
1)      Beatrix never really did anything for Dane? She hung out and smoked with him a bit, but that’s all. You’re telling me Terra wouldn’t accept Dane? Beatrix never helped him and he never really opened up to her about his struggles.
2)      Nobody else, not even background characters bully or harass Dane for being “different”. It’s only Riven, the guy he’s crushing on. The whole falling in love with the bad boy/abuser trope is bad in a hetero relationship and that still stands for a gay one. And I know damn well if Dane was a woman half of the shit Riven did to Dane wouldn’t slide.
It makes no sense for Dane to side with the bad guys when Riven’s the one bullying him and Beatrix is complacent in the bullying. Oh, and having your second black* character who’s also lgbt+/potentially questioning be a villain? Not good.
I’m all for gay and poly rep, but not like this. If Stella and Sky’s toxic relationship is going to be called out for what it is, why not Dane’s?
*Idk if Theo Graham is light-skinned black or biracial so I’ll just refer to him as black.
7. The plot
It’s very predictable. Personally, wasn’t fond of the ‘twist of a twist of a twist’ style of writing. The story tries to be nuanced and deep but it’s not. Common sense is treated like a big revelation. Not trusting the war criminal you barely know isn’t as big of a take that the writers try to make it out to be.
8.  Everything else
·       Beatrix is fine. No Icy but did like the gothic bookworm aesthetic.
·       Sam is just there to be Musa’s love interest and provide some dumb drama between Musa and Terra. I thought they’d go the Edward/Bella root – Musa’s drawn to Sam because she can’t sense his emotions for some reason. Nope, they just get together for the obligatory make out sessions. Don’t care much for the relationship or the character.
·       Since the powers are all elemental shouldn’t there be classes purely for an elemental? Classes purely for fire fairies, etc?
·       Musa’s powers are confusing. If she has no control over them and they are “always on”, shouldn’t her eyes constantly be glowing purple?  Very wishy washy. Sometimes they overwhelm her and other times she has complete control. Her character is just there for plot stuff.
·       Terra is one of the better characters but can’t enjoy her knowing about the whitewashing. Why can’t we have a plus sized character just exist and not have body issues?
·       Sky doesn’t feel like a prince. Characters treat him like his dad is a war hero and not the King of Eraklyon. There was a point where I thought I misheard and thought his dad was just a war hero and not a king.
·       Why try to justify Rosalind’s war crime if she’s going to be the big bad anyways?
·       The way the characters treat death/act around death is very weird. Musa and Terra see a pile of dead bodies and they’re unreasonable calm. Especially Bloom an “ordinary teenage girl from earth”, reacts very nonchalant when death and war crimes are brought up. Doesn’t help the show tries to push this “they’re kids fighting a war” narrative.
·       Can’t buy into the girls’ friendship. The Aisha/Bloom dynamic is centred on what Aisha can do for Bloom. Bloom only cares about herself and only goes to her friends to help with her problems. Most of Musa’s and Terra’s interaction centre around Sam. Stella didn’t care for the girls until her mom showed up and pulled a 180. The girls were quick to turn on Aisha when she sided with the adults.
·       I have no problem with technology existing but why do they have Instagram, Tiktok and Tumblr? The otherworld is a completely separated from Earth, why do they have the same technology?
9. Brian Young, what do you mean by mature?
I grew up on the 4kids dub before transitioning to the Nick dub for season 4 and 5 then dropping the cartoon for good. So naturally on my rewatch of the cartoon I decided to go watch the RAI dub since I heard it’s more accurate and 4Kids are infamous for their horrid localisations straying too much to the source material. Upon finishing season 1 and currently watching season 2, a few things took me by surprise. For one, the cartoon is surprisingly dark. The schools are at war with the Trix and their army of Darkness, Sky almost dies in Season 2, Riven almost dies and the Trix thinks he suicided, it’s heavily implied in Season 2 Darkar murdered some of the pixies, the paedophilic undertones of Bloom and Avalon’s relationship, the list goes on.
When the interview with Brian Young came out, he said Fate would be a mature take on the cartoon. And I wondered, what did he meant by mature? Was he going to delve deeper into the darker aspects of the show, or did he mean he was going to have the girls swear and have sex? Watching Fate, I found my answer.
If you take out the gore, swearing, drug and alcohol usage from the live action, the maturity is on par with the RAI dub. The difference is in the presentation. This is what sucks about the mentality surrounding live action remakes. Because the OG!Winx was colourful with glittery transformations , was super girly and overall had a positive upbeat tone (not forgetting 2D animated) - it can’t be taken seriously. You have to strip all that, the colour, the kindness, the femininity in order to be deemed mature.
10. Wrapping up
I went into Fate expecting the worst and honestly, it wasn’t that bad. There were things I liked about it. The show looks pretty, and I did like what they were trying to do with Sky’s arc. The actors did what they could with the material. Freddie Thorp made the cringe dialogue work and Abigail Cowen proves she can carry a show as the lead.
Fate is your generic, YA, dark academia show. It follows all the tropes of the YA genre to a T. If that’s your niche, then you’ll love Fate and I’m not bashing anyone who liked it.
For me, as a creative, it doesn’t capitalise on the strengths of the source material. I’m not asking for Winx Club again, as I’ve reiterated, I’m all for creative freedom. But Brian Young, Iginio Straffi, whoever worked on this – they could’ve created something new, innovative, something that stood out from the hordes of other YA shows. They had good material in their hands! But what I got -  I’ve seen before, and I’ve seen it done better. That’s a major disappointment.
As a winx club fan, don’t bother watching this. It’s a very diluted version of the Winx. In trying to capture the interest of the adult fans who grew up with the franchise – Iginio showed how out of touch he is if he thinks this is what they wanted.

This is so much longer than I expected or intended, but...here goes! I'm hardly an expert but here's some things I've learned-
Confidence! Stay as confident as possible! Also, know that the more you write, the more you'll improve. I cringe when I read my first fic (but I'm also very self-critical).
Write for you: This is the best advice to heed and also the easiest to dismiss and ignore.I wrote my first fic because it was something I wanted to read. Unless your motivation comes from writing solely for the audience (which is totally awesome and valid), it can be very easy to fall into the trap of "this isn't right, people want xyz and this or that pov. If you have a story to tell I guarantee there's someone else who wants to hear it!
Feedback: A few areas to ponder...
1. Find a beta. I was so bashful at first, I didn't ask for a beta (I'm also the only one in my immediate circle of family/friends who is obsessed with SPN and imagines Jensen Ackles naked on a daily basis 😅) and I wish I would have. Just to make sure what's coming from your brain is translating smoothly, and limbs aren't caught in orifices they cannot possibly fit into. Betas are also great for when you're stuck and need to suss something put or get back on track. And not having one at first is okay too - just know that, even if you proofread a thousand times, you'll find that spelling error 3 months later 😄😉)
2. Try not to get hung up on feedback, positive or negative. So many folks base their perceived success on how many notes/likes/comments they get - I don't believe this to be accurate. I've read fics that are absolute masterpieces that have gotten few comments - I've read fics that are grammatical/canonical/IKEA-sex disasters that get hundreds of notes. Sometimes there's just no rhyme or reason! Is feedback awesome? Yes- It is better than multiple orgasms while high on a drug that the military hasn't been able to identify. Is it crushing when you don't get as many hits or notes as you thought you would? Absolutely. Does it determine your worth as a human either way? Nope.
3. Ignore the haters. Someone will hate your ofc, someone will be pissed off you had Dean smoke a cigarette, someone will lecture you on how people actually have sex or what an orgasm actually feels like, some people will tell you which words to use and not use (I had one reader inform me that I ruined all 8K+ of a fic because I used the word 'mound'. I had someone else say I should never use "mewl" or "taint" (to which I replied if I wanted Cas to mewl as Dean stroked his taint that's just what's gonna happen...but I digress) With the obvious exception of "moist" use your words, your voice. If the feedback is coming from a constructive place, by all means consider it. If someone is just being an asshole, fuck em.
Smut: As others said, the trick is to make the scene unique/different. Sure, there are generalities and basic givens, but how you can best portray it is something you'll have to explore. Me, I use a lot of sensory descriptions and like to be in the character's head, churning through thoughts and deep emotions because that's how I personally connect to the world in general. Also...don't worry too much about realism. Go ahead and make her so wet she's dripping, but maybe don't have her gushing like a faucet (unless you're writing ABO, but that's a different post 😅) Are regular dudes as hung or huge or as perfect a fit as a Winchester? Have your ex's found every sweet spot you knew and didn't even know you have/had? Odds are, no - which is what I want to escape the reality of. Shower sex? We all know Dean has cracked the code on that and will always deliver it perfectly. That all being said, some balanced realism can really add to the story! @there-must-be-a-lock is great at this- when she has Jared's knee crack, or has Dean realize he's been fucking all night and day and hasn't showered and he kinda stinks...it adds that gentle layer of relatable realism.
Have fun: You will laugh, you will cry, you will curse your muse and post the following gif repeatedly-
Tumblr media
But at the end of the day, it should all add up to a beautiful, unique creation and a good time. Find your spark and your groove, and just keep at it!
P.S. it's not you, it's Tumblr
P.P.S.
Hiii. I’ve been in love with your Deanxreaders since halfway through Marked and I’m trying to write my very first xreader (with Dean ofc). Any tips? Any tricks? I’m struggling with the smut, help? I figured you’re the gal to ask bc I really admire your writing and I always keep it in mind when writing Dean, so thanks for sharing it, it inspired me to try❤️
Okay first of all THANK YOU! I am so very flattered. As for smut advice... shew. Let’s see. Most of this applies to writing in general I guess, but here are the biggest things I can think of:
1. The lead-up is just as important, if not more important, than the sex! Anticipation! Teasing! Tension! Foreplay is fucking crucial, in fic as in life. Some of the most popular fics I’ve written were literally just foreplay, lol. Sometimes that’s more meaningful than the sex, y’know? Especially if it’s a Big Moment and there’s Major Pining, which brings me to #2...
2. It’s not just “insert Appendage A into Hole B.” There’s an emotional story happening in every single scene, even if it’s “just” smut. What’s their dynamic? Who are they as people? What’s the context? It’s all going to determine the mood and, therefore, your tone and word choice and pacing.
3. DETAILS. Try to get past the generic stuff. Everybody can describe what sex is. What makes it your sex scene? Find the tiny things. The way he reacts to a birthmark he’s never seen before. Stretch marks and scars, ticklish spots, “I never thought that could be an erogenous zone” erogenous zones. Awkward true-life moments like when you get stuck in your jeans. Muscle cramps, joints cracking. Give it texture and sensory detail.
4. Especially if this is your first time writing something like this, get someone whose opinion you trust to give you feedback and do a thorough grammar/spelling check... and do not take their comments personally. I love editing (and I’ve been stupid busy so I can’t make any promises but generally I’m open to reading for people!) but I only love editing for writers who actually want to hear feedback and don’t just want “omg yes I love this.” Editing is a collaborative process. If someone gives you feedback, think about it, and if you don’t agree with what they’re saying, tell them “wait but that wasn’t what I was going for at all” so that you can figure out what’s getting lost in translation between writer and reader. It’s not an attack, it’s help.
I think those are the biggest things I can think of, but like... I could go ON, I’m sure. Writing a good sex scene is so much harder and more complicated than most people think.
Writers, anything to add? @thoughtslikeaminefield @fookinghelljensensthighs @rockhoochie @stusbunker @67midnightwriter @mskathywriteswords @fangirlxwritesx67 @lastactiontricia @itmighthavebeenintentional

~~~ I'm not sure if this will even get to you but this is more or less a rant (sorry it's just I don't feel comfortable saying this to anyone I know irl) So... I used to play this game called League of Legends for fun (to bond with friends) but've stopped for 2 years. A few days ago I logged back in without telling anyone and played a few rounds; My level and my ability don't match anymore at this point, I'm pretty much a begginer now. And... the community is so toxic??? Like I've just ~~~~~
~~~ -realised that I don’t have the motivation to play it without a companion of sorts for support, kind of? Like when you make a mistake and feel really bad about it and no ones there to console you? (I know this is whiny but…) The players I encounter can either be really nice (they help you out when they see you struggle) or extremely toxic (bash on you for a mistake)  Things are changing around me (in general) and I’m trying to look for somewhere to just vent.. sorry if I’ve disturbed you..
Hi, sweetie! ^^ Feel free to come here and vent whenever you want, you’re not bothering me at all. Sometimes life gets tough and we need help to figure out what to do - and that’s okay.
Now, I’m not unfamiliar with LoL. Years ago when the game had just begun to get popular, I played a few times against the AI and one time against real players that made fun of me for not knowing what to do. So yeah, the community can be pretty toxic.
You need to ask yourself something important - why did you go back to playing the game? What were you looking for?
From what I can tell, LoL reminds you of simpler times, times you spent having fun and bonding with friends. Things in your life are changing, so you need to feel that stability and simplicity again, correct?
I’ve been in a very similar position. I used to play Lineage 2 with friends. I even met new ones through it and I couldn’t even begin to explain how grateful I am for that. The game started changing in ways we didn’t like, though, so at some point we just… stopped playing together. Years later, I decided to go back to it. I was in my first years of university and I was desperately looking for ways to kinda go back in time. I ended up playing alone and… it just didn’t feel right.
The memories we have, they’re connected to our friends more so than to the games themselves. The games simply created an environment for us to hang out and explore different worlds with the people we cherish.
Change is scary, but it’s not necessarily bad. I understand how much you must miss playing LoL with friends, trust me, I do, but we must keep going forward. ^^ That doesn’t mean you can’t find another way for you and your friends to hang out and bond. What do you guys like doing? Is there a hobby you all enjoy? You could even find a new game to play, you know? ^^ It might remind you a lot of the past, but ultimately, it will help you create new and valuable memories with your friends.
Thank you for reaching out, sweetie! I know sometimes doing that is hard. ^^ You’re always welcome here, though - in the garden that is my blog, hehe. ^^
Also, one last thing. Just like you, I was never able to share with anyone I know irl how much I miss playing Lineage 2. Sometimes my mind takes me back to those wonderful times and I cry, but I also smile, laugh, and… cringe. I just want you to know it’s okay to go back to the times you played LoL with your friends and let yourself experience whatever emotions come to you. It’s okay. ^^
Sending lots of hugs your way! ^^
