This is kind of embarrassing to ask, but my stupid job may or may not hinge in the balance. Basically, everything I have read about ironing says that it takes 15 minutes to iron a shirt, and 3-5 minutes once you get efficient at it.
The last time I ironed, it took me 3 hours and, to be honest, I say that's how long it took but that's how long it took until I gave up, because it still looked like I hadn't gone near it with an iron by the end of it (and no, I was not ironing new creases into it).
I used steam and had the iron set as hot as it would go, and let it heat up fully before I began, and I followed the order or operations in this guide. The clothes were dry, and I haven't tried ironing them while they're damp or wet, but other than that: what am I doing wrong
#I hang clothes instead of folding them#I use the reduced ironing settings on the washing machine#I also have a garment steamer (that makes barely any visible difference to the creasing either)#but like... this is the one of the two Big Things my manager is upset with me about#and the only one I feel I have any hope of showing an improvement on#I am looking into having them done professionally every week but it's hard to find somewhere that would suit my schedule#so I'd have to do it more often so that I didn't run out of clothes#and I want this to be as fucking painless as possible#werq bitch

i love deciding things are fixed. the garbage disposal is now fine. the iron works perfectly. my AC no longer makes a weird noise. the shower door closes just right.
next up are my laptop keyboard and car because everything in my life is always operating at peak performance—complete, functioning, and whole. 🖤

Gah! It took me forever to reply to this!
@visualtaehyun tagged me in a thing (picrew - it's cute) and it was so sweet and I was so happy and excited - and then I started a new job weeks earlier than expected, in a new country and there was no time for Tumblr for me (sad eyes).

pet peeve when it comes to how people treat celebrities and other public figures (in the entertainment field at least, so like, streamers and youtubers and such too. not politicians or smth) is when ppl treat the crime of. being just kind of a huge dick - like someone cheating on their wife or being rude to fans - with the same severity as they would when someone is literally a pedophile
(obviously to clarify this isn't the way everyone treats all public figures etc. but the amount of backlash i see about people who were Bad but on a very immediate interpersonal level - as in, hurting those they know irl - sometimes even surpasses the backlash i see groomers and pedos who use their fame for these purposes get. west elm caleb is a great example for such a case i think)
#sometimes it's a case of how famous the person is i think#ironically the more famous they are the more ppl let it slide#both the big and the small stuff#like [insert singer] got backlash for cheating on his wife but the world moved on so much quicker than it did -#- when [insert youtuber] did. i still see ppl make jokes abt [youtuber] years later. and ppl already forgot [singer] did it#(...i don't wanna appear in search results sorry. also i don't even remember the youtuber's name ngl. but you know who i'm talking about)#but even in the same field. a big steamer being exposed for grooming still has a career. smaller streamer got completely nuked#in the first case - the cheating one - i think the reaction was extreme either way#in the second one - the grooming - it wasn't extreme enough. jail 👍 (or at least for now deplatform the big streamer idk)#in that case i don't even need to name names i think bc many cases apply here.#anyway that was my rant for today.
