Hey hey! [Intro post number. I don’t even know at this point lmao]
Hihi! The name’s uh. many things, but I mostly go by Silhouette, Koi or Star(dust(ed))! You can see more things (which includes pronouns, other names / nicknames, honorifics and more) here if you want. Not required, but it’d be appreciated if you at least checked it out!
/\/\/\☆/\/\/\
I do NOT accept donation / advertisement asks. I am very, very much afraid of answering an ask and it being scam. Now, I’ll never straight up block you for sending asks unless you’re doing it repetitively and purposefully, I’ll just remove the ask and leave it be, but just keep this in mind.
/\/\/\☆/\/\/\
To get it over with quick, here’s a DNI, Thin Ice and BYI list.
DNI: - If you’re on any basic DNI list - If your blog is 18+, NSFW / NSFT, minors DNI, etc - If your blog is centered around any kind of discourse - If you enforce or heavily pressure your religion onto others - If you actively support something or someone that is inherently wrong - If you support AI art - If I blocked you (I blocked you for a reason. <3) - Selfcest shippers (Selfcest makes me EXTREMELY uncomfortable.) [Note that this may change overtime, and that I do NOT support Blushcrunch (Creators of Dandy’s World) or Groink (Creator of AIB) for their actions. I simply like what they have created and interact with content made by other fans.]
THIN ICE: - If you ship mirrormystery / Rodger x Glisten (I personally hc them as siblings and dislike this ship heavily. I don’t care if you do ship it, just don’t bring it up around me, please.) - If you ship host x contestant (It generally makes me uncomfy for some reason I can’t describe well. I don’t mind if you ship anything of the sort as long as it ain’t problematic, just don’t bring it up to me pls.) [This may be updated in the future. This is all I have for now.]
BYI / NOTES: - I am a minor! This is extremely important. Don’t be weird or you’re getting blocked, especially if you’re an adult. - I most likely have anger / emotional issues and I can get extremely emotional and pissed off pretty quick. I’m sorry if I cause anything bad to happen because my emotions are extremely chaotic and basically control how I act n stuff. - I am a huuuge mess, and a ping pong ball is constantly bouncing around in my brain - I probably have adhd, more specifically hyperactive impulsive adhd. I am not diagnosed (though I really want to get diagnosed), but I have done a decent amount of research to assume this, so please keep that in mind. - Tone tags are essentially my life support. Please use them or some other indicator for tone, since I can’t understand it unless it’s very blatantly being shoved in my face. - Anything I hyperfixate on something, you’re 100% going to notice by my reblogs. I will flood your page lol - I will like and mass reblog posts a lot!! If you don’t like this, please let me know. - At times, I will randomly condense my speech. If you can’t understand, I’ll fix that! - I refer to characters I really like or relate to a lot as “me”, especially Pitchfork from AIB and Razzle and Dazzle from Dandy’s World. If you ever have a problem with this, PLEASE let me know. I myself am not a fictionkin, fictive or anything of the sort, so if this ever becomes a problem to you I’ll change it asap. - I can’t read things right sometimes. Be patient with me I’ll get it eventually lmao
/\/\/\☆/\/\/\
I use my own personal tags when making posts every once in a while! These tags will be listed below.
-.River’s shenanigans (Kind of a shitposting tag. Basically just dumb or silly things I post.) - River’s art (My art tag! NOT TO BE USED BY AI.) - River’s ask responses (My responses to things I get in my inbox!) - River’s thoughts (Kind of a vent tag atp, originally and sometimes used as a marker to indicate that I’m posting about things on my mind. Not used often.) - River’s writing (My writing! Read TWs on posts if needed.)
/\/\/\☆/\/\/\
Fandoms, interests and hyperfixations! I’m in quite a few communities in the moment. Some of these are:
-.Object shows (more specifically AIB) - Dandy’s World - Just Shapes n Beats - The Pink Corruption (I consider them two different things. If you don’t like this, don’t fight me over it; just DNI and move on, please.) - Pikuniku (Is there even a Pikuniku fandom-?) - Bugbo - Sprunki - Pressure - Blocktales - The Robloxia: Until Dawn
/\/\/\☆/\/\/\
Lastly, here’s a few funky lil userboxes. Thank you for reading! [Credits to the userboxes in order: 1 (me!), 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]

Hi there! Super duper quick, but I’m going to go on a break / hiatus for the next week or so!
I’m sorry its kind of sudden (or maybe not idk) but yeahhhh–– there are a few reasons! I won’t go into too much depth, but I don’t want to just dip out for a bit without proper explanation (unlike the other times i’ve gone on hiatus)
But that’s utc tho bc even if i say i won’t go into too much detail i am still, at my heart, a chatterbox lmao
Original Navigation Post !!
For one, i think I’ve started to look for validation in tumblr too much? Like,,,, I’ve never been one to need validation before. But recently I feel like I’ve been seeking that out in tumblr which, when I look back on it, feels kind of funky to me? And obviously it’s not wrong to look for validation on here, that’s not what I’m saying. But just for me personally, it feels strange and debilitating to rely as heavily heavily as I do on things in this way, so i kind of need to distance myself for a bit.
This next one isn’t really much of a surprise at this point, but it’s kinda obvi that I’ve been lacking motivation and inspiration to write. I’ve probably written less than 10 things in the last two, maybe even three months. I just I don’t like the things I try to write, and I like them even less when i try to force myself, which sucks so much because I receive so many good, breathtaking prompts in my inbox, but i feel like I can never do them justice, but at the same time i don’t want to post the prompts with me just, like, screaming and keysmashing yk? Bc i feel like that can’t properly encapsulate just how much i love the things I’m sent. So yeah I really do miss being able to look back on the stuff I write n go ‘holy shit I actually made that? Whoa’ and I kind of need to get myself out of this funk for a bit bc I hate it.
Lastly, as I’m sure some of you know, finals have been whole rough recently. I only got out of its chokehold, like, a few days ago, and I’m jumping right back into the fray on January 3. Safe to say I’m still tired from the whole thing that was hell week, and I just need time to sorta, like, exist in my own space for a bit.
After I post this, I won’t be answering any asks until I get back, and I’ll be deleting the tumblr app from my phone to distance myself from the site for now. Though I might come on eventually to catch up and read some fics, because I’ve barely been reading or supporting any kind of fics recently, which i feel super guilty for. So if you see me rb fics, they’re all queued up!
I’m super sorry I won’t be around for the holidays or for New Year’s, but I hope everyone enjoys :DD I’m sorry that i won’t be able to actively provide a safe space for you guys who view the blog as such, or that I can’t be a listening ear or someone to talk to in the coming days. But still, feel free to send me things in my inbox while I’m away. Brain rots, thoughts, life updates, whatever you’d like! I might not be able to respond to each ask individually, but hopefully being able to type something out and sending it my way will be able to bring you comfort of some sort <3
Anywayyyy so, like, yeah :D I’ll get going for now. Thanks for 4.8k followers so far, even though I’ve been really lacking on content these past two months–– I’ll try to write at my own pace while I’m gone, maybe finally do those event prompts and answer some really old asks. Hope everyone has lovely holidays and a lovely new year, also! Much love n much smooches babes <33

MY FELLOW ANON ARE VIOLATING MY EMOTIONS TODAY 😂 god I’m acc crying. Your writing is amazing. I’m gonna combat the sadness with a wholesome thing of them finding a pup in a bin (or something) a few months after the loss of the first pup (Neji is currently shut down entirely) is like “lol gimme”. Proceeds to take the pup home, put it in his nest scent the lil bean (gender is your choice) and just be like “yeah this mine now”. Any nay sayers are ignored bc it’s still his baby (maybe almost like his pup reincarnated 👀👀) regardless of how baby was obtained. Idk I just think my guy needs some positivity after life kicking the ever loving shit out of him
This is beautiful and you’re right, Neji deserves the world, but I’ll settle with a quiet life and some happiness for my boy!
Okay, so things haven’t been…good with Neji since you had to let your pup die to save him.
It has been two months and still he lays in his nest every day, sometimes crying, sometimes whining, but mostly just staring at nothing. He had incorporated a bunch of baby stuff (blankets, toys etc.) into his nest before he went to the hospital, in order to make his pup feel more at home in the nest when he was supposed to bring them back. You had tried to take them out to stop him having to be confronted with what happened in his safe space, but Neji almost attacked you for doing so, so you let him keep them.
But it’s very concerning when he spends hours at a time just stroking the pup's blankets and staring at nothing.
So, you decide to take Neji on a walk to get him out of the house. It would be his first time leaving the house since the funeral.
You go at night time, because Neji is still refusing any contact with anyone he knows and this way he’s less likely to be confronted when he isn’t ready for it. To make extra sure that you can be alone, you decide to walk around the edge of the woods around one of the quieter training grounds.
Neji doesn’t speak much, but he doesn’t whine or cry either, and the night air brings a little colour to his cheeks, and you’re so happy at the small improvements. It doesn’t matter how long it ends up taking him to feel better, you’ll be here with him the whole way.
“I was thinking about cooking something special next week,” you make idle conversation, not expecting Neji to reply. “It’s our anniversary after all, do you have any preference?”
Neji stops walking suddenly. His shoulders are tense.
“Neji?”
He hushes you harshly.
“I can hear…”
Without another word of warning, Neji makes his way a little further into the trees. You follow him, confused and worried.
“Byakugan!” he calls, scanning the area. He gasps as he scans over a nearby bush and immediately he drops to his knees beside it.
“Neji?” you ask, now more than a little concerned. “What is it? What’s wrong?”
You watch as Neji pulls something out of the bush. He turns around with a bundle in his arms.
“It’s a pup,” Neji says, obviously shocked. You can’t blame him, you’re feeling more than a little shocked yourself. What on earth was a pup doing out here? “They’re freezing. Give me your jacket.”
Without hesitance, you quickly slip your jacket of and hand it to Neji who promptly bundles up the pup in it and brings them to his chest. The pup is making small whimpering noises that had been almost impossible to hear over the wind. Neji must have hear them, thank goodness.
“It’s okay, I’ve got you,” Neji coos to the pup. “You’re safe now, I'll take you home and make it better, I promise.”
“We need to get them to the hospital asap," you say, shaking your head. "They must be freezing and they look underweight as well. We’re not mednin, Neji.”
“Our home is closer.”
“Neji…”
“We need to make sure they’re warm,” he argues. “We can bring them home and alert a medic to make a home visit.”
You look at the earnest look on his face and know that he won’t back down, and now isn’t a time for arguments anyway.
“Okay,” you swallow nervously. “We’ll bring them home.”
You bring the pup back to your home and before you can protest, Neji brings them into his nest with a mumbled ‘they’ll be warm in there’.
Neji bundles himself and the pup up in the corner of the nest, turning on a little heater beside him, and tucking the pup into his shirt to share body warmth.
“We’ll get you nice and warm, it’s okay, you’re safe, I won’t let anyone harm you,” he whispers while stroking their cheek with a finger. The pup wriggles around, already looking more energetic, and starts mouthing at Neji’s chest.
“Are you hungry?” Neji laughs softly before turning to you. “Go and heat up a bottle for the pup, all the supplies are in the… the nursery.”
You nod dumbly and do as you’re asked, astounded at how much life is in Neji’s eyes. It’s the most life you’ve seen from him in months. But you can’t help but worry. What if Neji gets attached and you can’t keep the pup? Of course, you want nothing more than to keep the baby, it almost seems too good to be true that she literally fell into both your lives at this trying time, but what if it is too good to be true? What if they’re sick? Or their parents are looking for them? Or… something else. Neji doesn’t deserve another heartbreak, and you don’t want to destroy the small amount of progress he’s made in the last month.
But for now, all you can do is heat up the bottle.
“Here, it’s a good temperature, I already checked,” you pass Neji the bottle. He checks it again anyway and you can’t help but smile at how overprotective and parental he's being. It's so bittersweet to see him like this.
“Here you go sweetheart, just for you,” Neji smiles, cradling the pup as they latch onto the bottle with fervour. “Shh, shh, shh, slow down, it’s not going anywhere.”
Neji feeds the pup and then burps them, and you pretend you can’t see him smiling when he notices that they are starting to smell like him. You need to know you can keep her before you let him get even more attached.
“I’m going to send a clone for a medic, now.”
The room became tense all at once.
“They’re fine, I’m looking after them,” Neji protests.
“I know, and you’re doing a good job, but we still need a medic, Neji.”
Neji holds the pup more tightly to his chest, tucking an extra blanket around them. He's using the special blanket you had got commissioned for your pup. You can feel your heart break at the sight. He's already attached. Now you just have to hope you can keep them. For his sake.
“I don’t want them to take the pup away like last time,” Neji admits softly. "I can look after them, I won't let anything happen like last time, I promise. They'll be safe, we don't need a medic."
“We need to know their primary and secondary gender, omega, and we need to make sure they aren’t sick after being left in the woods…”
Neji hesitates but nods his consent in the end after you explain that your pup could become ill if left untreated. You don’t tell him that you are also sending a clone to the Hokage. Naruto will be able to grant you and Neji the right to keep the pup, and you hope that as Neji’s friend, he’ll be able to see how much he needs this.
You have to move Neji and the pup downstairs to wait for the medic, because Neji would not appreciate someone unknown seeing his nest he made for his pup. He’s not expecting Naruto to show up as well so you go to the door to intercept and prep them both.
“Thank you so much for coming, Naruto, I can’t tell you how much this means to me and Neji,” you say, hugging him as he walks through the door.
“I’m going to do everything I can,” he promises. “If the medic finds signs of long-term neglect, I can take the parental rights away from the biological parents straight away, even if I don't know who they are, and transfer you the rights.”
Your face visibly brightens, but Naruto continues.
“But if the only injuries are from laying in the forest for a few hours, I’ll have to try and find the parents first, because the child may have been taken from them by force, when the pup was otherwise a healthy baby being looked after sufficiently. In that circumstance, I’ll have to take the child back with me and put them in foster care until a three-month window has passed. And if the parents are found…”
“I know,” you sigh. “Let’s just get this done as soon as possible.”
The three of you walk into the living to see Neji cradling the pup tightly against his chest.
“Hey Neji,” Naruto greets softly with a sad smile. “I haven’t seen you around for a while.”
Neji tenses upon seeing Naruto.
“Naruto? Why are you here?” Neji clearly misinterprets the situation, holding the pup even more tightly and turning accusatory eyes against you. “Why did you bring him here?”
“I’m here to determine whether the pup was abandoned or kidnapped to the best of my abilities, once we have that done, we can decide how things are going to happen, okay?”
“How do you decide that?” Neji asks with distrustful eyes.
“The medic will give them a check-up, completely routine, I promise,” Naruto speaks with a soft voice like he’s talking to a cornered animal. Well, you look at Neji for a moment who is coiled as tightly as spring, he’s not far off.
It takes about five minutes for you to convince Neji to let go of the pup and hand them to the mednin, and then the next fifteen minutes involve you holding him in your arms to stop him wrestling the pup back from the mednin.
And then, rather ominously, the mednin pulls Naruto aside to talk.
Neji is shaking in your arms.
“It’s okay, calm down, Neji,” you try to comfort him.
“I can’t-“ Neji chokes, hands fisting in your shirt. “He has our pup, you let them take our pup.”
You don’t bother to correct him on his use of ‘our’, knowing it would only upset him more.
“I know baby, but they need to see that they’re healthy, nothing’s wrong, just breathe.”
Neji doesn’t take your advice.
"Last time they took them-"
"This isn't like last time, omega. Come one, try and settle down a little, that's it."
...
Naruto eventually walks back in, holding the pup securely, the mednin nowhere to be seen.
“So,” Naruto says seriously. And then his face breaks out into a wide grin. “Am I right in thinking you want to adopt?”
You can almost feel your relief in the air. Thanking every power that be for this stroke of luck. Losing this pup could have easily meant losing your mate, and the gravity of the situation all comes crashing down at once. Neji looks as though he is feeling much the same.
“Give me them,” he orders, arms out.
“Her,” Naruto corrects. “The mednin said she’s a female alpha.”
Tears start welling up in Neji’s eyes as he takes her. Their bio pup was a female alpha, too.
“Thank you,” he whispers to no one, holding his new pup as tightly as he dared. “I’ve got you now, you’re safe and sound with me, I won’t let anything hurt you ever again.”
Naruto slips out of the house without a fuss, dropping the mednin’s recommendations for feeding the underweight pup on the coffee table.
...
You and Neji take your new pup upstairs and bundle her back into the nest. Neji lays down with her, stroking her cheek as he watches her sleep.
“You need to get some rest too, omega,” you suggest, running a hand down Neji’s back.
“Guard?” he asks in response.
“Yes," you smile at his protective instincts. "I’ll guard the nest while you sleep, I promise.”
“Okay, alpha…” Neji settles down, still with one hand resting on the pup. “But if I don’t wake up when she cries, wake me… I want to be the one to feed her.”
You laugh gently, “Of course, now get some sleep. I’ll guard you both.”

a helping hand [henry cavill] - part 2
Tumblr media
A/n: I’m sorry it took me so long. I don’t like how this part turned out, at all, but I rewrote it 3 times and I can’t even think about these scenes anymore without getting annoyed. I’m just happy it’s finished and that I can start working on part 3 (that is, if you like this one enough to want to keep reading lol)
Summary: After you post on onlyfans a video starring another man, Henry decides to take matters into his own hands. (cameo: Steve Rogers) KINKY 4k
Warnings: spanking, daddy kink, dirty talk, mentions of smut and masturbation (male), humiliation/degradation kink, groping, mentions of porn and filming pornographic material, stalker-ish/obsessed Henry. (also tumblr crashed when I first tried to upload this so maybe that a sign this sucks)
You can read part 1 here!
-
The sight brought down a storm upon Henry's mind. He stood there, mouth agape, watching the screen, unable to believe his eyes. It was one thing to post videos of yourself on the Internet, but to have someone else take part in them was too much. At least for Henry. Still smart and composed, he realised there wasn't anything he could do about it, but nevertheless, he was determined to not let this shit slide for much longer.
As much as he wanted to hunt down that man who dared put his hands on you, Henry gathered himself, took a deep breath and closed the onlyfans page. He was perfectly aware that just the right amount of you could get him to lose his sense of control and do things he'd later regret. Still, in desperate need to see you, he grabbed his phone, eyes scheming over your socials, only to see that the last time you had been active was 7 minutes ago. So, without much consideration, he started typing.
"You up?"
"Yep. Finishing up an essay. Coffee in 30??"
Oh, and how deeply that hurt him. "Of course" he sent you, and then checked again the post you made at 3am. '...I'll go to sleep right now, edit it for you when I wake up...'
You were lying? Why were you lying to him? It drove him insane. Henry felt like he couldn't sit down anymore, like he had no chance to catch his breath. He couldn't think straight, so he wasn't really to blame for what he did next.
Henry's fingers flew over the keyboard, accessing Facebook and logging into your account, desperate to see whether he could find out who the man in your video was. And it was as easy as it could've been, considering your last 5 conversations were with the girl friends he already knew about. But somewhere among them, he spotted an unfamiliar name - Steve R., and instantly clicked and opened the conversation. His blood started to boil when the multitude of emojis you sent reached his eyes, but he scrolled up, until he found the beginning of yesterday's conversation.
It was started by you, and with a request. You were blunt and went straight for it, asking him with just one message to be in the video with you. There was no trace of your relationship with him on the Internet, so Henry had no idea regarding the nature of yours and Steve's connection. Judging by the way you addressed him, he could easily assume the man was nothing more than a fuck buddy. Even though it angered him, Henry kept his calm and decided to go about this with care. It would only be a matter of time until he removed Steve from your life. But for now, he just had to keep digging for information.
Steve R.: "Exactly what do you need me to do, baby? Spank you? In front of the camera? Are you serious?"
"Yes, Steve. Come on!! I know we haven't seen each other in a while, but still... 😇 when it comes to these things, you know me better than anyone"
Henry scoffed. Who the fuck was this guy?
Steve R.: "I know, baby"
Steve R.: "What's in it for me?"
Smoke came out of Henry's ears, and the fact that you acted so sweet and innocent made him want to smash his keyboard.
"Whatever you want! Just do this for me!!! Please!!!! 🥺😊😋"
Steve R.: "Ofc I'll do it, sweetheart. I got you"
"Thank you thank you thank you 😘"
Steve R.: "I should be the one to thank you"
Steve R.: "Send me the location and I'll be over there asap"
After that, your address followed and then that was it. Determined to dig deeper, Henry started to scroll up again, wanting to find out as much as he could about this mysterious man. He didn't get a chance to lurk too much before this computer alerted him of a notification, the onlyfans tab glowing orange. His attention was instantly won, smiling devilishly as he checked the content.
Posted 30 seconds ago, was the new video. Ready to kick back and enjoy, Henry pressed the play button, ready to go at it with an open mind.
He reluctantly accepted the fact that there was another man in it with you, but he decided to enjoy it nevertheless. The video started, displaying Steve seated on the couch, thighs suggestively parted. He had a pair of black dress pants on, dangerously stretched over his massive thighs. A white, elegant shirt hugged his visibly sculpted torso, the top two buttons undone to show just a hint of chest hair. Quite a sight, but all Henry saw was trash. With his sleeves rolled up to his elbows, a silver watch on his wrist and a pinky ring on, Steve patted his thigh, cueing your entrance.
When Henry saw you, he felt his breath reach a new, sudden level of difficulty. With the shortest of skirts barely managing to cover your ass and a mostly see-through shirt on your top half, you made your way to him in such an angelic way that Henry couldn't believe his eyes.
You looked like happiness personified, and it came in such a painful contraction to what you were about to do, that it twisted Henry's mind in such a perverse way, his cock nearly twitched just by seeing you.
When you were about to bend over Steve's thigh, he grabbed your chin and stopped you mid action, his lips slamming against your as his free hand lewdly caressed your ass. He flung the skirt over your hips, your flimsy underwear on full display.
Attentive to the events unfolding on the screen, Henry found his cock, teasingly rubbing it over the material of his pajama pants. His mouth watered when he felt the sensibility in his tip, actually believing this would be easier than he initially anticipated.
"Are you going to be Daddy's good little girl, or do I have to make this fucking hurt?" Steve asked and Henry almost threw up.
"Yes, Daddy. I'll be good" you mewled, wiggling your feet.
"Let's see" the man menacingly chuckled, releasing a sharp slap against your ass that made you yelp out in pain.
At this point, about 30 seconds in that was, Henry was already losing his mind. It was as if you took a trip inside his dreams and decided to play out his fantasies. The only problem was that you did it with another man. It was next to impossible for him to keep this going.
"Can you count?" Steve taunted, his hand traveling all over the back of your thighs, your exposed ass and between your legs.
"Yes, Daddy" you eagerly nodded and Henry almost threw up.
"I wouldn't be surprised if a dumb slut like you didn't know how to" Steve chuckled, "But it's ok, that's how we like our girls. Dumb and pretty"
"Thank you, Daddy"
Henry couldn't believe his eyes. He refused to accept the fact that a random man got to play with your innocence like that. You were his sweet little girl. And if until now he pushed through heroically, when literal yelps of pain started erupting from your lips as the blonde man slapped your ass hard enough to rock your whole frame, Henry's blood ran cold.
But no matter how hard the jealousy had hit him, the video was still pushing his limits of self control. It was still what he always wanted to see. When he reached inside his pants and grabbed his cock, a low grunt of early satisfaction left his lips. He once again found himself picturing you, willing to please him, but this time, he didn't get to go too far. The buzzing sound of his doorbell rang through his apartment, and he never stood up faster.
Cock still hard and completely visible through his pants, Henry slapped the pause button and minimized the browser, before springing to his feet and rushing to the door.
"Henry!" you exclaimed as soon as he came into view. He looked somehow tired, but it was easy to tell there was something else bothering him. "You didn't answer your phone" you pouted.
"Yeah, sorry" he shook his head, a few sweaty curls falling against his forehead. "I was busy with something. What's up?"
You raised your eyebrows and pointed to the door of your apartment, "You said you'd come over? Coffee? Remember?"
"Oh, shit, yeah" Henry cringed, rubbing his forehead. "I'll be over in 10 minutes, that ok?"
"Sure" you beamed, completely oblivious to the way he just tried to get rid of you. With utter nonchalance, you pushed your way past him and strolled into the kitchen.
"You wanna wait here?" he muttered.
"Yeah... Is that a problem? I can leave..."
"No, no" Henry eventually sighed and rushed over to you. He cupped your cheeks and kissed your forehead. "Wait here, I'll be right back"
And that was what you did. You silently sat down, grabbing a bag of chips you found laying around, and settled to wait. And maybe, a few seconds passed where nothing devious came to mind, but as time ticket itself away, boredom got to you. First you stood up, and padded to the hallway, looking around. There was almost nothing new over there, but it still felt so homey you absolutely loved to inspect every detail. The TV in the living room was turned off, a couple of pizza boxes on the floor and his DVD cases laying around - absolutely nothing interesting.
You sighed and plopped down on his couch, folding your legs under your body, ready to flip through the channels on TV until he'd decide to join you. Nothing seemed of interest, being bombarded with news and fishing programs. "Old man" you thought to yourself, before opening up the menu in search for something less depressing. A wave of nostalgia hit you when you came across a Spiderman marathon, and you were done for. Maybe one full episode passed until Henry walked out of the bathroom, but you were nowhere near ready to leave.
"Look what's playing!" you beamed, pointing to the screen. Henry raised his eyebrows in amusement, his shoulders shaking as he softly laughed at your unusual choice of entertainment.
"Are you serious? Cartoons?"
"Yes!" you scoffed, extending your arms and gesturing for him to join you. Although reluctant at first, Henry agreed to sit and watch the show with you, but not before brewing some coffee first.
When he returned from the kitchen, two steaming mugs in tow, you shuffled to the side and welcomed him on the couch. He brought you close against him, draping his arm around your body. With your head resting on his shoulder, you sipped your coffee, eyes glued to the TV. "You seriously never watched these as teen? You were 11 when it came out."
"I did" Henry laughed, rubbing his hand up and down your side, "I was in love with Felicia Hardy"
"MJ was so much better!" you shook your head disappointed, "You have no taste"
"No need for that" Henry threatened, his fingers exploring their way down your body. The way he trailed his hand across your hips and thighs made you squirm, smiling to yourself as you shuffled closer to him.
Henry was more than happy to reciprocate, kissing your forehead and squeezing you tighter.
And just like that, you didn't care about Spiderman anymore. You flung your leg over Henry's lap, all but crawling on top of him. The episode was still playing in the background, but none of you was paying attention anymore. Henry wrapped his muscular arms around your frame, eliciting a soft moan from your lips as you pushed your hips down against his thigh. His hands traveled lower, exploring your body with delicate but greedy strokes.
As you let yourself get carried away with absolutely no worry in mind, Henry knew exactly what he was doing. And considering how easily you let your guard down, he had you right where he wanted.
When you hid your face in the crook of his neck, your nose rubbing across the slope of his collarbone, Henry's right hand found your ass. You froze for a second, but his gentle caress helped you relax again in an instant. With his lips against the top of your head, he allowed his fingers to sink into your flesh. Your whole frame stiffened as you gathered a handful of his hoodie into your fist.
"What's wrong?" Henry cooed, grabbing your chin, "You ok?"
"Yep" you whimpered, and then winced again as he squeezed your ass once more. "I'm good-" you lied, cupping the side of his neck into your palm as you crawled higher up his body, your lips right against his ear.
As weak as he was for you, Henry stood his ground. If you wanted to play this game, he'd do it, but he wouldn't let you win.
"Does this hurt?" he asked, roughly groping your ass.
Jumping slightly from the pain, you still managed to shake your head, blurting out another lie. "... no"
"What about this?" Henry teased, grinning widely as he shoved his hands inside your leggings, under your panties.
The urgency of his touch made your eyes open wide, your back arching as you tried to push yourself off of him.
"Does it hurt, darling?" he continued, keeping you in place with ease.
Defeated, you sighed and lowered your gaze, "A bit" you mumbled.
"Just a bit?"
"Henry-"
"Did he fuck you good?"
Your mouth fell open. "What- no, I didn't- we didn't do anything-"
"Didn’t do anything?" Henry grinned, his perfect teeth showing as he proudly pried information out of you.
"I just... fuck-"
Seeing no way out of this one, and eager to stop hiding, you pushed yourself back. Henry's hands left your body as you sat beside him, and he watched you curiously, patiently waiting for you to word your thoughts. "I just filmed a video for my page, that's all" you bowed your head.
"What kind of video?" Henry questioned.
His demeanour was so relaxed, he was right in his element, unlike you, who were riled up to the extreme. "A spanking video-" you cleared, awkwardly fidgeting with the hem of your shirt.
"Did he spank you good?"
His hand found your hips again, and you leaned into his touch, nodding your head yes as you were too embarrassed to actually word your answer.
"Then show me"
He was dominant and stern, and even if you wanted to, you felt like saying no wasn't an option. Henry didn't wait for your permission as he grabbed your waist and pulled you up to your knees, chuckling softly to himself when he saw you shyly smile down at him.
His fingers curled around the waistband of your leggings, forcefully pulling them down your thighs. "Come on" he urged you, softly guiding you to lay down across his lap, your ass barely covered by the pinkish and slightly unflattering underwear you had chosen for the day.
Henry's breathing picked up at the sight, and so did yours. You watched him over your shoulder, his fingers tracing over the bruises Steve left on your bum the night before.
"Henry-?" you whimpered, the anticipation building up in the pit of your stomach becoming too much to bear.
"Yes, darling?" he cooed, leaning down to the side to kiss your cheek. His stumble tickled your skin and you whimpered when his hand made its way between your legs.
You felt his fingers against your opening and involuntarily clenched your thighs around him, hiding your face in the cushions of below your head.
"Tell me" Henry pushed, teasing your folds and clit over your underwear.
"Nothing, I-" you cried, making him chuckle.
He loved giving you a taste of your own medicine. He straightened himself up and grabbed your ass into his hands, squeezing until you yelped out in pain. A soft laughter of approval escaped his throat as he bent down and pressed his lips to one of your cheeks, applying lingering kisses over each and every single bruise.
The way he took control of the situation and handled your body, turned you on to no end. For whatever reason, being exposed like that for him, waiting for any kind of judgement to leave his lips, you were getting more and more riled up by the second. You were done for. You did your best not to moan with need, but little did you know that was exactly what kept you from being thrown onto the floor and fucked into oblivion. Just one single sign was all you needed in order to break his self control, but you didn’t have it in you to do it.
But he didn’t say anything, instead just keeping you on your toes as he had his way. You were dripping through your underwear, and judging by the bulge in his pants that pushed up against your belly, you knew he was on the same page as you. But again, he didn’t allow things to go further. Everything about this moment pointed in the right direction - the teasing, the touching, you were all but whimpering in his lap, but he cut the moment short with a sharp slap against your ass before he helped you up. Henry acted as if nothing out of the ordinary had happened as he pulled your leggings back up, but this glare became colder when he found your eyes.
He bent down and spoke into your ear, "He could've done a better job"
Completely under his spell, you bit your lip and furrowed your eyebrows. "I don't think I would have been able to take any more"
"That's not what I said" Henry shook his head.
"Look at you being an expert" you teased, relishing in the fact that he seemed eager to keep things going.
"All I'm saying is that if you had asked someone else-" Henry laughed, stroking your cheek, "Things would have turned out much more different"
"Oh" you pouted, ready to tease him further. "Who should I have asked-"
Just when you started getting comfortable and confident enough to push things further, Henry's phone rang. "I don't have to take that" he shook his head when he heard you stopped talking.
"Just see who it is" you giggled, slapping his shoulder.
Before doing so, Henry grabbed your chin and kissed your forehead, his touch drawing you in like a magnet as you leaned into him when he pulled away. With a sigh, you eventually crawled off his lap and then your face fell with disappointment when Henry showed you the screen of his phone.
"Yeah?" he huffed after picking up, his boss being the last person he wished to talk to right now.
You watched him closely as he listened to whatever the man was saying, and almost whined out loud when Henry frowned annoyed.
"I'll call you back in 5, ok?" he asked and after a couple of seconds hung up.
"I'm so sorry-" Henry sighed, turning to you, "I gotta go take this, there's a problem with one of the radars, I need to go see if I can fix it remotely"
"Sure thing" you shook your head. "But please tell me you don't have plans tonight"
"I don't" Henry leaned towards you and again, kissed your forehead. As much as you loved the sweet gesture, it was now more than ever that you craved something else entirely.
"And please don't forget about me again" you giggled, grabbing his biceps and stopping him from leaving without a promise.
"I won't" he sighed, "I'm really sorry about that. I'll make it up to you"
"However I want?" you beamed and licked your lips.
"Absolutely" Henry smiled, sweetly embracing you before walking you to the door.
You had his word now, and you were planning on making it count. There was no way either you or Henry would act as if nothing had happened, and you couldn't wait.
Once alone and seated at his desk, Henry opened up the text editor associated with the code he wrote months ago. When his screen was flooded with errors and his chat popped up with three different messages asking for help from his colleagues, Henry all but yelled out loud in frustration. Not only did he wish to be with you, it was also Sunday, one of his days off. But he couldn't just text the pilot of the plane whose radar went berserk and tell him to wait. So he got to work, determined to get this done as soon as possible.
But unfortunately, that 'as soon as possible' turned into 3 hours of continuous work. He didn't even stand up to go to the bathroom until he made sure everything was on point. It was about 4pm when the program started running smoothly again, and seeing how he had a few more hours to waste until he had to see you, Henry decided to make the best of them, by getting a head start on his tasks for the following day.
Productivity flowed through his fingertips as he solved the first issue he had been assigned for the day to come, getting ready to start working on the second one when a call caught his attention. He didn't recognize the ring tone, and it only dawned on him that he was still logged into your facebook account a couple of seconds after it stopped ringing.
Still curious, Henry switched the tabs on his computer, noticing that the chat with Steve, which he left open hours ago, showed that there was an ongoing video call. His jaw fell. Henry tightened his hands into fists, fuming with anger. First as you for doing this, and then at himself for allowing you to believe this was an ok thing to do. He knew there was no way to eavesdrop on your conversation even if he had the password, but that didn't mean his curiosity died down. No, it only grew stronger.
He felt lost for a minute, but then he thought of something. On his dresser, right next to his winter gloves and under his favorite jogging hat, laid an extra set of keys. Henry remembered the day you gave them to him, saying something along the lines of 'I feel much safer knowing that if something were to happen, you could always get to me, Henry.' and then remembered how you stuffed them in his pocket, and kissed his chest before stepping back. Such different times.
There was no trace of hesitation inside his mind as he grabbed the keys and made his way out of his home. He passed the hallway in less than a second and pressed his ear to the door. It was perfectly quiet, and through the peephole, he couldn't see any light. You weren't in the kitchen or living room, so he felt confident enough. After putting his phone on vibrate, Henry ever so gently pushed the key inside, turning it inside the lock with the most meticulous movement his wrist could muster. The sound of the door knob being turned was so faint he barely even heard it, but his pulse skyrocketed when he heard the click that signaled the door was finally open.
With small, careful steps, he made his way inside. The entire apartment was dark and quiet as he made his way in, stopping just outside your bedroom as the relaxed, deep voice of a stranger became audible through the wall. “Trust me, sweetheart. Just relax, I got you. You’re all tense, I can see it from here. You know I have more experience with this than you do, just do as I say”
With one hand on the doorknob of your bedroom, Henry was ready to put an end to this whole charade. He knew he might regret it later, but he didn't care. The image of a so called friend, pushing you to do anything that you seemed to have clearly stated your discomfort about, flipped a switch inside his brain. There was no stopping him because no one, no one got to push you around like that. Not while he could do anything about it.

Them Comforting Their S/o During a Panic Attack || Midoriya, Bakugou, and Todoroki
Tumblr media
Masterlist
Pairings: Izuku Midoriya x Reader, Katsuki Bakugou x Reader, and Shoto Todoroki x Reader
Requested by Anonymous: hi :) brief warning for: mentions of depression, social anxiety, panic attacks and tics in a few days i start school irl again, and i have severe depression and social anxiety which makes it a living hell for me because i get 0 support from anyone🙂 my friends tell me to get over myself, but they really dont understand how hard it is since i found out we were going back ive been having panic attacks and more aggressive tics, if it isn’t too troublesome may i please have bakugo, todoroki and deku (you can cut deku if its too much) comforting their s/o after a bad panic attack? if you aren’t comfortable writing this, i understand, have a nice day and be good to yourself❤️ thank you in advance
Word Count: 1k
Warnings: Panic attacks
A/n: Okay, so I generally upload requests in the order that receive them in, but I felt like you’d probably want this done before you actually went back to school. I did a bit of research on panic attacks, because I don’t have much experience with them, so I hope I represented it accurately. And as I am now rereading this request I realized that you requested them comforting you afterwards (I wrote it as during instead of afterwards) but I wrote the whole thing before realizing that, so I hope that’s fine (if it isn’t then just send in another request and I’ll get it done asap, I’m just a dumbass who clearly can’t read right). Also, get new friends, your current ones sound kind of sucky. Another thing, if you ever need to vent or anything like that, you can message me, I don’t mind, I’m not the best at giving advice (maybe I am idk), but I’m a good listener. Other than that, thanks for requesting! I hope you enjoy these! -Danielle <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Izuku Midoriya:
Throughout your relationship, Izuku has done a ton of research on panic attacks and how to help (he has a few notebook pages on it), and he really worries if he finds out that you had one and he wasn’t around to help, so he stays by your side as often as possible, unless you tell him that you want him to do otherwise
You have previously told him a few things that lead to a panic attack for you and he tries his best to help you avoid any setting that may trigger a panic attack, but even he’s not perfect, and he can’t stop a certain trigger
Izuku was trying to calm himself down, as he watched you begin to panic, he knew this wasn’t about him, and he mentally scolded himself for starting to panic, because he thought that he had no right to panic when you’re the one having a full on panic attack
After he sees the first tear fall from your eyes, he’s immediately snapped back into reality and he’s speaking to you
“May I hold you, Y/n?” He asked, and when you nodded, he pulled you into his arms
His face grew red at the action, but he had no time to spare being embarrassed or flustered, not when you were in this state
“I want to help you, Y/n. Will you let me help you?”
After he heard a small but loud enough to hear, “Yes” he spoke again
“Okay, just breathe, alright? It’s going to be okay, you’ll be fine. Here, breathe will me. I’m right here.”
It took a bit of effort, and a lot of comforting, but eventually Izuku had managed to calm you down and your breathing slowly returned to normal
After a few minutes of letting you get used to breathing normally and not being in a panic attack, Izuku kissed your cheek and spoke again, “Are you alright?”
“Yes, I’m alright, Izuku. Thank you.”
Tumblr media
Katsuki Bakugou:
Okay, so if it would have been anybody else, he would have told them to fuck off and get over it themselves, but he just couldn’t stand seeing you so upset and panicking
He’s not really sure what he’s supposed to do, since he’s not the best at comforting, but he couldn’t just stand there when you started having a panic attack during class
He was freaking out and he was doing a very poor job at hiding it, he had no idea what to do
He probably would have continued panicking if Izuku didn’t yell at him, “Kacchan, help them! They wouldn’t want anybody else to.”
Katsuki just sort of approached you as you were panicking in your seat, while some students were trying to comfort you verbally, but it wasn’t helping much, and he helped you stand, before leading you out of the room
Once you were out in the hallway, Katsuki had you sit down, and he held your hands, trying to think of what he should
He remembered you telling him about panic attacks and you had almost told him what to do if you ever had one, but somebody interrupted and the two of you forgot about it
“Hey, it’s okay,” he finally said, “I’m right here. You’re safe. Do you want me to hold you?”
After a nod of approval through your sobs, he pulled you into his arms and held you there for a while
He rested his head on top of yours and whispered things along the lines of “It’ll all be okay” or “Just breathe with me” to you
He ignored everybody that happened to be walking by, that stared at the two of you
“Are you alright now?” Katsuki questioned, moving his head to the side so he could see your expression
Your breathing had calmed down and you weren’t sobbing anymore, just trying to calm down and catch your breath
“I think so,” you replied
“Okay, let’s just stay here for a minute, okay?”
“Okay.”
Tumblr media
Shoto Todoroki:
After you told him that you had panic attacks, he did his research on them, so that he could help you if he needed to
He works really hard to figure out what triggers a panic attack for you, and he works hard to avoid you having a panic attack, but things still happen
You had just been hanging out with Midoriya, Uraraka, and Tsuyu, when you suddenly starting having trouble breathing
“Y/n, are you okay?” Uraraka asked, being the closest to you, and the first person to notice your breathing, gaining the attention of Tsuyu and Midoriya
Midoriya’s eyes went wide when he heard your breathing, and saw tears starting to stream down your cheeks, “I think they’re having a panic attack.”
“What do you need, Y/n?” Uraraka asked, turning to you
“Shoto,” you replied, barely processing the question, but you did, “I need S-Shoto.”
“Tsu, can you go get Todoroki?” Uraraka asked, as she comfortingly ran her hand up and down your arm
Tsuyu got up and left, after confirming that she would do it, before going to find Shoto
She found him training with some of the other boys, and told him what was going on, and he immediately started towards your room, where Uraraka and Midoriya were attempting to calm you down
Immediately after entering, Shoto approached you and Uraraka and Midoriya backed up to give you two some space
“I’m here now, love,” Shoto said, “Can you hear me?”
Once you nodded, he turned to the other people in the room and gestured for them to leave
They were hesitant to leave, but they did, leaving you and Shoto alone
You were sitting on the bed, and Shoto was kneeling on the floor in front of you, holding your hands
“It’s okay, I’m here, you’re safe, can you try to breathe with me?”
You nodded and tried to match his breathing, and he comforted you as you started to calm down, and come back from the panic attack
Once your breathing had calmed, you spoke, “I’m okay now.”
After hearing those words, Shoto immediately engulfed you in a huge hug, which he would have done previously, but he didn’t want to overwhelm you
“Thank you,” you mumbled in his chest, as you hugged him back
“You’re welcome, let me know if this happens again, alright?” Shoto asked, and he felt you nod back into his chest

Can I request a Tsukishima Kei x reader where they make up after an argument please 💜 also are there any prompt lists that you like and we can look through? If no, that’s cool too!
Make-Ups Instead of Break-Ups
A/N: I’ve never really used any prompt lists before, so I don’t have any ones in particular that I can direct you to, unfortunately. However, I’ll write pretty much anything so if you find a prompt from some random list and want me to write it, just send it my way! If anyone is unsure, just shoot me a private message or an anon ask and I’ll try my best to answer ASAP! (Btw, thanks for requesting! Tsukki is one of my fav Haikyuu characters and I just LOVE writing for him)
Characters: Tsukishima Kei
Rating: PG
Warnings: some arguing, in case that isn’t your jam, but other than that it’s pretty family-friendly
Tumblr media
Biting your tongue, you drew in a few deep breaths from your nose, trying your hardest not to let any of the harsh words that you’d surely regret later spring forth from your mouth.
Across from you, standing with his arms crossed and an irritatingly smug look plastered across his face, Tsukki waited for you to either give in to your anger or storm off; those were the only two ways you knew how to handle arguments with him, even though neither one of them ever seemed to do you any good.
Even though this disagreement had sprouted from something as simple as Tsukki being late without sending you a courtesy text or call to let you know, your current boiling blood originated more from the series of things you had been bottling up inside for the past month or so.
At first, you had thought it was nothing more than a run-of-the-mill rough patch, but as time went on and things gradually got worse, you actually started to believe that your relationship had run its course. Ignored texts, missed phone calls, dry conversations, and the like had you ready to burst at the seam, and today, that seam had finally gave way.
“I just don’t understand why it’s so hard for you to be considerate,” you said in an attempt to remain composed but still convey how you were really feeling. You knew that if you never brought up the issues, Tsukki wouldn’t either, and then things would just be left to simmer and eventually, boil over. So, the confrontation was left up to you.
“Practice ran long.” He huffed. “I don’t know what you expect me to do about that.”
You shook your head, your irritation growing as he seemingly refused to acknowledge the point you were trying to make. “I never said I was mad about practice running long. I understand that things happen. What I’m trying to tell you is that it would be nice for you to let me know so that I’m not standing around waiting for thirty minutes, thinking you stood me up.”
“I don’t understand why it’s such a big deal.” He threw his hands into the air for effect.
You rolled your eyes. “It’s a big deal because if you had told me you were running late instead of just leaving me in the dark, we wouldn’t be arguing right now.”
“We wouldn’t be arguing right now if you didn’t insisit on overreacting about every little thing.”
And there it was. The words that finally pushed you over the edge. The breaking point.
“Do you even want to be with me anymore?!” you shouted, definitely louder than you had intended. “Because it certainly doesn’t seem like it, and if that’s the case then please just be honest with me because I can’t keep doing this.”
For the first time since you had met him, Tsukki was speechless. No snarky remark, no annoying facial expression, no nonchalant shrug. Nothing. The tall blonde boy was completely taken aback by your sudden outburst.
This time, it was your turn to cross your arms over your chest and wait for a response. When none came, you scoffed.
“You don’t even care enough to say something when I’m talking about breaking up?” You were actually shocked. Sure, Tsukki was bad with emotions on the best of days, but this was a whole new low that you hadn’t been expecting. “Nothing?”
You watched the anger wash away from your boyfriend’s face, his shoulders slumping and his eyes softening. But still, he didn’t say a word; because he didn’t want to or he didn’t know what to say, you weren’t sure . . . but in that moment, his silence spoke volumes.
“Then I guess that’s it.” The words physically hurt to say, but you knew it needed to be done.
Then, without warning, Tsukki turned and walked out of your room. You felt your heart shred to pieces as you watched his retreating figure, and when he turned the corner and disappeared out of sight, your stomach began to twist itself into tight, uncomfortable knots.
You waited until you heard the front door open and close before you allowed yourself to cry, but it never happened. When you heard the faint sound of rummaging in the other room, your curiosity got the better of you. Slowly, you ventured into the living room where Tsukki had dropped his volleyball bag upon arriving. Leaning against the wall, you watched him dig through the bag frantically.
“What are you doing?” you asked. Completely dumbfounded at the way he seemed totally unaffected by your words.
Finally, he stilled, his hand clamped around whatever it was he had been looking for. You watched his chest rise and fall as he drew in deep breaths, and when he turned to face you, you were surprised to see tears in his eyes.
Standing to his full height, which towered above you, he approached you carefully, almost like you were a stray dog, and he held out a small, wrapped box toward you.
Your eyes shifted from him to the box, unsure of what was happening.
“This is for you,” he said, and when you still looked puzzled, he elaborated. “For your birthday next month. I didn’t know what to get you, so I’ve been asking the guys for help . . . which was probably a horrible idea, now that I think about it. Practice didn’t run late today. I was picking this up. I’m sorry I lied. I’m sorry I didn’t tell you I was going to be late.”
Suddenly, you felt like the biggest idiot in the entire world. Even though you felt like you didn’t deserve any sort of gift at all, you took the box from Tsukki’s hand because every second that you didn’t, he looked more and more worried you were going to completely reject him.
“What about all the other times?” you inquired, hoping he had an explanations for that as well. “You’ve been so distant.”
“Yeah . . . I was hoping you hadn’t noticed any of that. I’ve been trying to figure out what to do for your birthday without being too obvious about it and I think I got a little too inside my own head.” He nervously scratched the back of his neck. “I was worried if I opened my mouth, I would let something slip. I felt like I was going to be like Hinata and just say whatever I was thinking . . . it was a horrible feeling.”
You chuckled softly at that. “Why didn’t you just ask me what I wanted for my birthday? Seems that would have saved us a lot of trouble.”
“Nishinoya said girls like to be surprised,” he answered. “Apparently it’s more . . . romantic.”
You quirked an eyebrow up at him and smirked. “And you listened to him?”
He hung his head. “Not my proudest moment.”
“Why didn’t you just tell me all of this before? Why wait until I was ready to end it all?”
Tsukki shrugged. “. . . stubborn . . .” he muttered, barely even audible.
“What was that?” You leaned in closer.
“I’m stubborn!” He admitted, the tears gone from his eyes now and his expression one of humiliated acknowledgement. “I’m a hard-headed jerk who messed up!”
You smiled warmly before handing the box back to Tsukki. His eyes widened at the gesture, convinced you were rejecting him and the gift.
“Give it to me on my actual birthday,” you told him before he could spiral too much. “And next time, just talk to me instead of being all shady.”
Tsukki’s mood lifted as he took the box back into his hands once again. “Does this mean . . .?” His eyes were filled with hope; a wondrous look that you rarely saw on his face. You almost wanted to pull out your phone and take a photo.
“Since you came prepared with a gift and a solid explanation, I forgive you.” You wrapped your arms around his torso and hugged him tight. “But if you ever go silent on me again or forget to tell me when you’re running late, I will shove my foot so far up-”
Tsukki quickly hugged you back, pressing your face into his t-shirt and promptly shushing you before you could get the rest of your threat out. “I promise I’ll do better,” he whispered before pressing a chaste kiss to the top of your head. “And I promise I’ll never listen to the guys ever again.”

The Night Shift part 5 (F!Reader x Frankie Morales)
Quick summary: You learn the meaning behind Frankie's nickname
Warnings: None, I think, please let me know if I need to add some <3
W/C: 1.7k
Spotify (mainly just vibes, some songs have meaning, also updated regularly)
Part 1 Part 6
The smell of cooking bacon made your stomach growl as you entered the diner on Tuesday evening. You hadn’t eaten much all day, just a piece of toast and a handful of stale cheerios. Frankie was in the kitchen, his back to you. Your throat dried at the sight of him, remembering what you had done and how you had fantasized about him only a few hours earlier.
“Hi, Frankie,” you said, pushing thoughts of what you wanted him to do with his hands out of your mind. Stop being such a hornbag! You scolded yourself. Then he set those dark brown eyes on you and your brain ceased to function. Could he see your secret written on your face?
“Hey,” he said, smiling up at you. “You look tired.”
You almost sighed in relief. Maybe he couldn’t tell at all. You grabbed the coffee pot and poured yourself a cup. “I didn’t sleep much today. I was . . . worried about the kitten.” It wasn’t a whole lie; you really were worried about the kitten. The vet hadn’t sent you any updates, and you hoped that was a good thing.
“Are you gonna keep the kitten, if she lives?” Frankie flipped eggs as he spoke and set up a couple of plates.
“I can’t,” you grimaced, “Kurt would never go for it. He’s not really a fan of pets.”
Frankie made a face. “Not even adorable kittens?”
“Not even then,” you sighed. “It’s fine, though. It’s not like I have the time to properly care for one. I’m here most nights and I’m so busy with housework during the day when I’m not sleeping that it just- it just wouldn’t work.”
You kept your tone light, aware that customers could be listening. You didn’t want to scare off any tips with how miserable the subject made you. Frankie seemed to understand, because he didn’t bring the subject back up.
You were surprised at how easily you two worked together. Completely in sync when you had to be, entire sentences seemed to be translated through quick looks and raised eyebrows. This guy is a serial complainer. Want me to do something about those frat boys? Can you pretty please make me one of whatever this ladys having?
All too soon it was 5:30 and the morning crew was there, breaking the comfortable silence between you. You found yourself lingering again, although you weren’t sure what for. You didn’t exactly need to stay. But still.
~*~
Frankie was shocked to see you still there. He was pulling his keys out of his jacket pocket when he saw you, standing outside, shivering in the early spring air.
“Thought’d you’d be halfway home by now,” he said, but he was still pleased to see you. He had come to the conclusion last night that you had a boyfriend, he would respect that and not make any untoward moves on you. Friendship suited him fine, even if he did think your boyfriend was a bit of a freak for not wanting a pet.
“I wanted to ask you something,” you said.
“Go ahead,” Frankie prompted.
“How’d you get the nickname Catfish?”
At this, Frankie’s lips twitched. He hadn’t been expecting that. “Before we were deployed, the boys and I went on a fishing trip. Well, one thing led to another and I had a huge catfish on my hook. This was a catch and release type of situation, you know?” When you nodded, he continued. “So, I reach in this creatures mouth to unhook it, and the bastard clamps down! Whole hand, in its mouth! And the thing about catfish, is they don’t have teeth, so they can’t technically bite, but they suck. It was like my hand was in a vacuum seal. When I eventually managed to get it out, no help from the boys mind you, it looked like a giant hickey on my hand. So, that’s where the nickname comes from.”
You snorted with laughter, and Frankie began to laugh too. At the time, it hadn’t been funny but looking back, he knew he would have been laughing his ass off if it happened to any of the other boys.
“I think Santi got a photo of it, I’ll try and find it for you if you want,” Frankie said. You nodded eagerly, wiping a tear from your eye.
“Please do, I’d love to see it,” you said with a grin that made his heart do something it really shouldn’t. Frankie nodded, making a mental note to call Santi and demand that the bastard rip apart his house to find it if he had to.
You turned to leave, and before he could stop himself, he was asking “do you want a ride?” Friends gave each other rides when they needed it, he reasoned. You hesitated, and Frankie kicked himself. Of course he’d overstepped. You didn’t know him that well, he was just the fry cook.
“Uh, yeah actually. It looks like it might rain.”
As if you had summoned it, thunder rumbled low overhead. Fat drops of rain began to fall slowly painting the ground. Frankie jangled his keys and you both sprinted to his truck. He opened your door for you, and ran around to his side. He didn’t miss that you sat with your back ridgid, your hands curled so tightly your knuckles were white.
“You okay?” he asked, although you obviously were not.
“Yeah, no, it’s just . . . You’re aware your truck looks like a death trap?”
Frankie snorted. He was very aware of this, but he was also very aware of what was under the hood. He trusted this truck more than any fancy modern car. Still. He decided that this was the perfect opportunity to mess with you. Just to see how you responded.
“Have you ever seen The Fast and The Furious?” He began, and you raised an eyebrow at him, your face skeptical. “Tokyo Drift, specifically. Well, this truck won me the title of Drift King several years in a row. That’s how well she runs.”
“Oh, fuck off!” You rolled your eyes, but you were laughing. “That’s not even slightly believable.”
“Yeah, you’re right. But how cool would it be if it were true.”
You rolled your eyes again, but you were smiling as you did it, and Frankie counted that as a victory. You gave him directions as he drove, surprising him with how close you lived to him. Only a five minute drive away. How long had you been this close? How had he never noticed you in the neighbourhood? Had he been blind, all these years?
“Thank you,” you said quietly as he pulled up outside your building, a three story walk up with a faded brick facade. The rain was coming down hard now, and lightning flashed.
“Anytime,” Frankie said in a tone that he truly meant any time. You nodded and ran through the rain, disappearing into the building. Frankie idled for a moment, wishing he could call you back and kiss you goodbye.
But he didn’t, because it wasn’t decent and it wasn’t what friends did. Friends didn’t crush on their friend like a fucking idiot kid.
So Frankie drove himself home and drove all thoughts of your mouth out of his head. That was until he checked his phone, and saw a text from an unknown number.
Thanks for the ride, I really appreciate it :) sent 5:57AM
Frankie quickly saved your number in his phone, not taking the risk of losing it somehow. A second message from you buzzed through.
Oh and lunch on Sunday is at Taylor’s Bistro, on High Street if you still wanna come sent 6:01AM
Frankie wrote his message quickly.
Wouldn’t miss it x
He stared at it for too long, erased the x, replaced it with a smiley face and hit send before he could overthink it entirely. Then he remembered his promise to you, and called Santi almost instantly.
“Fish, what the fuck man? It’s four in the morning,” Santi groaned into the phone.
“It’s six you dope, but I need a favour,” Frankie said.
“Money?”
“No, man, nothing like that. Do you still have that photo of the catfish on my hand?”
“Yeah I’ve got a copy in my wallet.” Santi sounded more awake, and Frankie could hear his fancy espresso machine whir to life.
“Why do you- nevermind. Look, I need a copy ASAP.”
“What for? If it’s to destroy it just know I’ve thought ahead and I’ve got four physical copies and one in the Cloud.”
“No, nothing like that. It’s for a girl at work, she asked how I got my callsign and now I’ve gotta show her the photo.”
“Oh?” Santi sounded intrigued. “Who’s this girl?”
“A friend,” Frankie said a little forcefully. “She has a boyfriend.” As if that closed the matter. Apparently, it didn’t.
“Why should that stop you?” Santi asked. “You’re hot, I don’t know this chick but she’d be blind to not be into you.”
“Well, for one, my brain isn’t directly wired with my dick.” At this, Santiago scoffed. Frankie continued, ignoring him. “Secondly, she’s like, twenty five or six. She’s probably not into old guys.”
“You’re thirty-three, you’re not old. Also, chicks dig DILFs.”
“I don’t have a kid.”
“And yet you still have big DILF energy. I wonder if there are any little Francisco’s running around that we have yet to discover.”
“Shut the fuck up, man, it’s bad luck to say that kind of shit. Just get the photo to me, please.”
Santiago roared with laughter as Frankie hung up. Trust Santiago to work one of his deepest fears into conversation. Frankie wasn’t sure what he was more afraid of: having children, or having children and having no clue they existed. It wasn’t that he was against having kids altogether, it was just he knew he wasn’t in the right headspace to take care of someone who depended on him entirely. Some days he forgot to take care of himself, he didn’t want a kid to suffer. It wouldn’t be fair.
He brushed the thought aside as he climbed into bed. It was bad luck to linger on bad thoughts, at least, that’s what his abuela always told him whenever he complained about something as a kid.
He wasn’t sure why exactly he had told you that there was photographic evidence of a catfish latched onto his hand. Maybe he wanted to impress you? But no, he reasoned, there was nothing impressive about that. It was just plain embarrassing. He realised with a start that what he wanted was willing to do anything to hear your laugh again.

FWB HQ Boys: In which you beat the player at his own game!
warnings: Time skip spoilers, mentions of sex(all characters are 18+), stupid people in love
a/n: I love one(1) libra man!! I love Atsumu’s character and the way he’s developed in hq and I think that this is a very probable way in which he finds love !! thank you all so much for loving the first installment so much <3 I-I went a little overboard with this one but ,, xoxo Chlo
━Miya Atsumu
Let’s start with a little background; I think we can all agree Atsumu is and always has been popular with the ladies
…But that doesn’t necessarily mean the ladies are popular with him LMAO
He’s truly the emotionally unavailable heartbreaker and he built himself quite a reputation without even knowing it
This dude doesn’t even really fuck around with girls, maybe a few meaningless flings his senior year but besides that, he only has eyes for one lady and her name begins with the letter V and ends with ball
LET’S GO
So you’ve known Atsumu for years unfortunately,,, and you surely know about how he treats the girls that approach him with confessions and boxes of chocolates
You don’t approve of it at all, but your family is practically family with the Miya’s and you’ve literally spent every major holiday with them since you can remember
You: Atsumu would it kill you to show some respect towards these women
Atsumu: If she breathes, she’s a thot
….smh… a fucking mess someone please put him in his place
However your mom was always happy that you could be around the twins since you were an only child, and she loved the idea of you having two brothers who would protect you from the evils of college men little did she know,,
You hate to admit it and we hate to see it, but you started to develop a crush on him your freshman year of high school.. you suppose it was because you spent so much time with him and you saw parts of him that a lot of people didn’t get to see I mean you also saw him with his jersey on and off pretty often how could you resist
For example, every Halloween you had a sleep-over tradition where you watched horror films after trick-or-treating and Atsumu was scared SHITLESS every year, I’m talking ripping your favorite blanket off you and burying his face in it to block out the movie, he would threaten you and Osamu about telling people at school about it
Him, a 17 year old teen standing in your doorway at 3:40 am: c-can I sleep on yer floor I LOVE HIM SKAKAKAJSW
You, filming him and sending it to Suna on snap: sure Atsumu <3
You found yourself entranced when he automatically gave you his school cardigan on the walks home from school when it was cold or raining, and completely enraptured by his cute little accent
Atsumu: did ya know yer a fuckin’ idiot bimbo stupid butt crack for not bringin’ yer jacket
Atsumu: yer lucky I’m a gentleman
You: ...
Osamu: god…..
It was naïve to think he would ever reciprocate feelings especially with his entire life being his volleyball career, and you convinced yourself it was a tiny high school crush and eventually you managed to repress it
Too much was on the line; you didn’t want to make both of your families awkward, and you needed to focus on your studies as one of the top students at Inarizaki yes ma’am
Besides you loved him like family right ???
RIGHT ???
The twins are a year older than you, and Atsumu had just signed to play professionally for MSBY!!
You at his official signing: wow, looks like you don’t have to resort to living on the streets after all
Him: yeah ❤️
You kind of forgot about how you felt about him since you weren’t seeing either of the twins consistently anymore with how busy both of you were; you stayed in contact, but nothing really serious
It was weird because you were still in high school while the boys were experiencing college and doing their own thing… you drifted apart honestly and you felt a bit awkward talking to them sometimes, you felt like you were bothering them Atsumu would probably tease you and say that you were
Another year passed and you were heading to college! You are living your best life, meeting new people, and then you got the text from your mom that you were doing Thanksgiving with the Miya’s,, you weren’t sure if that meant you would be seeing both twins but something about the possibility of seeing Atsumu again made something stir in your chest
Fall break hit and you found out both the twins and you were back at home since Atsumu also had a rare break from training and his regular professional season
You were helping Osamu out at his shop, since it was his first time dealing with the overflow of Thanksgiving season as a new business owner
You’re helping close the shop, when you hear the door jingle; you turn to say a polite “sorry we’re closed for the day,” but you’re met with what seems like a new and improved and muscular Atsumu OH NO
He looks amazing and so much older than you remember??? And he’s thinking the same thing about you!!! Like wow she’s changed a lot since she started college, I’ve missed a lot apparently ??
You immediately fall into his arms, inhaling his familiar scent, Osamu rolling his eyes at the two of you and telling you to get lost before he yaks
You leave the shop with Atsumu, inviting him to your house; as you enter, you catch your mom leaving to pick up some last-minute groceries for the Thanksgiving meal
She’s acts way happier to see Atsumu than she acted when you came home LMAO later she doesn’t shut up about how handsome and manly he’s become, but you just pull him away to your room and lock your door behind you
He goes to sit on your flower-patterned comforter from your childhood, newly washed thanks to your mother
Atsumu: so…. what’s up with you..?
You can’t control the churning of your stomach all of a sudden; you can’t remember him ever looking at you this way, like he’s looking at a woman
The feelings come rushing back, and literally all you can think about is kissing him
You lean back on your dresser in front of the bed, and a wave of need to express yourself washes over you,
“Atsumu, I missed you.”
You don’t even know what’s happening until you’re trapped in between Atsumu and the door, his mouth gently pressed against yours, his warm hands caressing your hips
He asks if this is okay, and all you can do is moan back a yes in response
Let’s just say your mom might need to clean your comforter again lmaoo
It’s complicated and you’re both kinda confused after… like no one admitted that they had feelings for the other and its not like either of you can just disappear from the other’s life like a random hook-up
BUT BOTH OF YOU ARE TOO STUPID AND STUBBORN TO REALIZE YOU LIKE EACH OTHER AND WANT A RELATIONSHIP I-
Like he’s literally cuddling you and kissing you and asking you about college in your childhood bedroom naked what
And it ISN’T uncomfortable at all
It feels so right to be in his arms, and you’re in disbelief about what happened??? What even like how have you gone all this time without doing anything honestly
You suddenly hear your dad pull into the garage, and you’re both up and putting your clothes on as fast as possible
It’s embarrassing when you look back on it, how long the hook-ups went on, but this was a common occurrence whenever the two of you were home
It was basically like you were dating and doing long-distance without the label
IT WENT ON FOR ALMOST A YEAR 🤡
Osamu during next year’s Thanksgiving meal: I think we should go around the table and say what we’re thankful for, I’ll go first. I’m thankful that two people at this table are getting laid despite the fact that I’m not 😊
Your parents:
Atsumu, in many ways, is oblivious to what his feelings mean after not really being in any real relationships and blocking out all the girls during high school,
He would find himself texting you after each of his matches, hoping you had watched him and his heart would flutter when you complimented him on his sets
Atsumu on the phone with you: yeah I’m just chillin’ with the boys rn 😏
Sakusa: get the fuck off my bed and get off the phone with your girlfriend so I can sleep
Atsumu: she’s not my girlfr-
Sakusa, talking loud enough for you to hear: I literally don’t care but don’t you have her picture saved as your lockscreen?
He tried to hook-up with someone when he was away playing a tournament in the summer, but it wasn’t the same and it was only good if he imagined it was you
He never did it again and before coming home for Christmas, he called Osamu to finally ask him what to do
Osamu: about time you meathead
Osamu literally spells it out to this man; he has been and is in love with you and he needs to do something about it asap before someone else snatched you away
Atsumu: why didn’t ya just say somethin’ ? Ya know I’m not good at these typa things !
I can’t he’s something else
So it’s Christmas, and he asks if you would want to go see the town square’s Christmas lights with him
Of course you say yes, you’re just really excited to finally see him after so long !!
Atsumu with rosy cheeks ugh spare me
He picks you up and greets you with a kiss to your temple, and he has a little gift baggie with him; he hands it to you to open and you pull out his old school cardigan
“I-I thought maybe you would want it since ya always stole it from me in high school, and since I’m half-way ‘round the world most of the time”
It smells just like him, you thank him with a kiss to his cheek and you tuck it away in your bedroom before leaving hand-in hand to see the colorful lights dazzling in the night sky
You talked to Osamu about your relationship with his brother and you want Atsumu to make a move honestly; you want to be sure he wants this since you’ve literally liked him since high school
You’re not sure what you are expecting, but when Atsumu has you in his arms, your back against his chest and his chin on your shoulder as you watch the Christmas carolers, you don’t expect him to whisper into your ear,
“hey, will ya be my girl?”
You turn around to give him a surprised look, his hand bringing yours to his mouth to plant a soft kiss on your knuckles this is his favorite place to kiss fight me
After getting over your dream-like shock, you say yes and pull him into a kiss
I’m crying he tells you afterwards that you were his girl since the first time he met you, we’ll let him have this one because did he really know until like a week ago? no
Whew, all of your friends and family let out a relieved sigh when they hear the news LMAO
Suna, hearing about Atsumu finally making it official: thank god I was about to start blackmailing him with those Halloween videos

under the same roof part three: all the time you need
a harry styles rpf part three of six written by annie and aj (marlahey and formerly harryonstage) ratings/warnings: disaster gays, endangered ovaries from dad!harry, women aggressively supporting women notes: enter the rest of harry’s family unit! in case anyone’s curious, annie tells sylvia to give her dad a kiss in vietnamese, to which he responds, good girl. before anyone comes for me, there will be plenty more opportunities for bed-sharing to come. side note: aj always pictured olivia coleman as officer warren.  masterlist | part one | part two | part four (21.12.20)
............................................... • saturday, 5th january 9:18 am • The second time you’re roused from sleep, sunlight illuminates Harry’s room. You lift your head, squinting, but more quickly you recognize where you are.
Harry is nowhere in sight, but a fresh glass of water is within reach on the nightstand, and a cardigan knitted with primary-colored patches lies folded at the foot of the bed. After slipping your arms through the loose sleeves, you take a few gulps of water and make sure to shut his bedroom door quietly on your way out. You hadn’t spent much time in the living room as per Officer Warren’s instructions to avoid the windows, but you can see into it from the hall. And since there’s still no sign of Harry, you take a minute to discreetly look around at the place he and his daughter call home. His flat is obviously larger than yours—he has two bedrooms versus one—but the morning light seems to stretch the space even further, like an open armed welcome. The atmosphere bustles with a little dose of chaos. Two brimming bookshelves span one wall of the living room, and plants line the windowsills. A half-sized Christmas tree stands off in the corner, wrapped in twinkly lights and strings of popcorn. A white fender guitar decorated with various stickers stands with a speaker beside the couch, and records tile the wall behind it: Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, The Stones, The Cars, Hello I’m Dolly.  There is ample evidence that a child lives here, too. The walls are dotted with drawings in watercolor, crayon, and sparkles. You can see pieces of Lego strewn out on the carpet; they must be from that towering box Harry had towed into the lift a week before Christmas. A small smile tugs at your lips as you follow the smell of espresso into the kitchen. You find Harry leaning against the counter looking contemplative, holding aloft a cup of coffee that he seems to have forgotten about. He’s wearing the same shirt he’d slept in, but thrown on a pair of joggers. You bid a quiet, “Good morning.” He inhales sharply as his head whips toward you, his drink sloshing over the edge of his mug slightly. “Jesus, sorry,” he laughs softly, shaking his head at himself. You watch as he wets a dishrag and cleans the small mess. “Not really used to company my age.” “Oh… Sorry.” “S’alright.” His voice is covered in sleep; it almost sounds like he has a cold. “Coffee?” You hum appreciatively. “Love some.” “Were you able to get some sleep?” he asks, pulling a mug from the cabinet. “Enough, yeah.” All you can think about is waking up locked in his embrace, on the still-dark cusp of sunrise. “Thank you for letting me, um…” “Course. Cream?” “That’s great, thanks.” Harry nods over his shoulder towards the bedroom. “It help at all?” How are you supposed to answer that? “The real bed?” he clarifies, like it is at all necessary.  You listen to the spoon clink rhythmically against the ceramic, and settle on “I think so,” as noncommittally as possible. “How did you sleep?” “Very well.” In passing you your mug, Harry catches your eyes for the first time today in a way that feels like not an accident. “More importantly, how are you feeling about everything else?” You shrug, eyes glued to the cream swirling in your coffee. “Better, a little.” “That’s good.” “What about you?” you ask. “You’ve kinda been through the wringer, yourself.” “I’m good, yeah.” Harry pushes up his glasses. “I was thinking—if you don’t mind—I’d like to come with you to the police department this morning.”  “No, no, Harry.” You wave away the offer. “Don’t worry about that.” “No, really. It might make more sense. I saw him in the hall last night, and I was with you in the lift. They might need to ask some questions of both of us.” You consider this a moment. “I don’t want you to feel like you have to.” “I don’t have to,” Harry counters. “I want to. I want you to, y’know… ” he trails off. “I want them to get this guy.” You blink at him. There’s a strange feeling in knowing that Harry has clearly thought about your wellbeing beyond the night that you’ve effectively been trapped in his flat. Regardless, it’s too early for a battle of wills, and he has a point. You slouch against the fridge. “Alright. Well… I still have India’s car so I can drive us,” you concede. A smile lights Harry’s face. Suddenly your stomach rumbles so powerfully and for so long that it interrupts the conversation. You cover a small, mortified laugh with both hands as Harry’s eyebrows raise. “Well,” he begins, exaggerated. “Let’s take care of that… You take the first turn in the bathroom, I’ll fix us some breakfast.” “You sure?” “Go ahead.” He grabs a skillet from the drying rack, turning on one of the burners. “Thank you, Harry.” “It’s no problem.” You wash your face with something you find above the sink and brush your teeth on auto-pilot before considering your bundle of clothes from the night before. Your cardigan lays at the top of the stack. Four of your fingers fit through the gaping hole in its collar, and dirt covers one of the sleeves. You hadn’t forgotten about the shape it was in last night, but you didn’t consider it a problem until now, as you hold it up in front of you by the shoulders, frowning. You try to tame your hair with a purple, sparkly brush to no avail, so you take a quick look around to see if Sylvia has any spare barrettes or pins. Thankfully there’s a single hair tie floating in the bottom of your purse. You shrug back into Harry’s patchwork sweater—oddly comforting in how fully it swallows your shoulders and hands—and slip back out to the kitchen, where Harry plates grilled tomatoes and bacon. “We’re about ready to eat.” Harry turns the stovetop down to a simmer as the toaster pops. “How do you take your eggs?” “Sunny side up, please.”  He salutes you with his spatula, attention already returned to the pan.  “Can I help with anything?” Harry nods to a drawer. “Yeah can you pass us a couple napkins from just there? I’ll be right back,” he rushes, already halfway out of the kitchen. You pull a few paper napkins from their packet as he returns with two chairs that you recognize from his small wicker table. “Blinds are open in the other room, thought it might be best if we just eat in here.” He sets the chairs apart, facing one another. “Now this is living,” you deadpan. Harry laughs lightly as he gestures for you to sit. The two of you get adjusted with your plates on your lap, and your knees almost bump in the small space. “This is great, Harry. Thank you.”  “I’d make you bubble and squeak, too, but we’re fresh out and Sylvia hates beans so we don’t keep them on hand. So technically...” Harry lowers his voice to a whisper. “S’not a full English fry up.” You can only smile around your mouthful, unexpectedly endeared. The rest of breakfast passes in silence. You shouldn’t have slept on an empty stomach; you’re ravenous from skipping a meal last night.  He looks up at you eventually, a touch more serious than before. “Shall we think about heading to the police station soon?”  You dab your mouth with your napkin and nod. Harry stands from his chair and reaches an open hand down to you for your plate. “No, no,” you nudge him away with your elbow. “You cooked, I’ll clean.”  “Let me deal with these. You’re a guest.” “I’m a captive.” “No you’re not! You’re—” He breaks off, hesitating a moment before plunging on with an amused slant to his lips. “You’re my sort-of friend.” Your assumption he hadn’t overheard that comment to your mother last night on the phone was clearly in vain. You press your lips together against any inadvertent reaction. Your head swivels toward him, eyes full of lighthearted reproach. “Look, just let me do the dishes to give myself the illusion that I’m not just a freeloader here. Besides, I’m already ready to go.” "Fine,” he caves disapprovingly. “I’ll get myself sorted and be out in a minute.” “Take your time.” While Harry is preoccupied, you finish slotting the clean plates from breakfast carefully into the drying rack and pull out your phone to message India. Hey, I have a lot to update you on but it’ll be much easier to explain in person. I still have your car and I need it for one thing this morning but I promise I’ll fill the tank ASAP. It’s about the guy that’s been following me. Just know that I’m safe and everything’s okay. I’ll call you when I can. Love you. Send. That’ll have to do for now. Harry returns in jeans and a sweater. It’s still strange to see him so dressed down. “Ready?” he asks. “Yeah. You mind if I wear this to the police station?” you ask, pinching the fabric of his cardigan. You feel the urge to explain yourself—the hole in your sweater, the grime—but Harry’s already shaking his head. “Not at all. Do you maybe want something a little less… loud? I don’t even wear that one out, myself, really.”  You consider the bright cacophony of color like it’s brand new to your eyes. Loud is right. “Yeah, that’s not a terrible idea.”  Harry’s lips twitch. “C’mon then. You’re welcome to pick anything you’d like.” Pick? You nod because you’re worried the surprise is painted on your face. “Okay.” Harry leads you to his bedroom again, and over to the large wooden wardrobe.  He pulls the double doors open and you cannot help yourself from gawking a little. You’re taken by all the exquisite patterns and intricate textures of the suits, but it’s oddly wistful to run your fingertips along all of them hung in a row. You smile privately, a bit removed. “What?” Harry laughs from behind you. “Nothing!” you reply, glancing over your shoulder before saying more softly, “I just recognize some of these.” “Oh, thought you were sizing them up. My mates all take the piss… They say my suits are eccentric.” He rolls his eyes, reciting the insult like he’s quoting their words verbatim. You turn back around to his closet. “I think they look nice—I think you look nice in them.” You take a step back and crane your neck to the shelf of folded sweaters above the hanging rod. The extensive array of muted wool and cotton is a bit overwhelming. You spot the planet sweater he’d worn the first time you saw Sylvia, the oversized yellow one that reminded you of Charlie Brown, the black one with half a red heart and the letters, NY in bold white text… It takes a minute of jogging your memory before you can recall him wearing something more plain. Harry doesn’t own a lot of plain. You still can’t quite reach the shelf up on your tiptoes, but Harry is at your side immediately. “The brown?” He tugs it from the stacks and passes it down. “Yeah, thanks.” You examine the camel colored fabric with tiny flecks of black thread, and run your hand along the smooth purl. “This should do.” You tug the sweater over your head; it’s boxy, your arms aren’t long enough to fit, and it isn’t doing any favors for your shoulders. You have to roll the sleeves up past your wrists before the outfit can half pass as something you purposely wore out of the house. You spin around to face him. “Does it look normal?” Harry’s jaw flexes as he gives you the up-down. You fiddle with one of the sleeves. “Yeah,” Harry says stiffly. “Looks normal.” It’s bizarre walking through the level six hallway; it’s identical to your own, but the last time you’d been here, everything down to the carpet and light fixtures had been tainted by your deafening fear. What’s more is that riding down in the lift with Harry feels entirely different now. You see it all from his perspective, and try to visualize what you look like to him most mornings, standing in the corner with your school bag and a book tucked beneath your arm. The lift picks up a few people on its way down, but by the time it reaches the garage, you and Harry are alone. You catch his eyes in the reflection of the doors a second before they open. He clears his throat. “I know it’s probably… we’ll be fine, but stay close, yeah?” You look up at him and nod. It’s easy to keep to your word. Harry guides you to walk in front of him the entire way as your eyes scan the shadows in between the rows of cars. You’re sure you will never be able to see this garage quite the same way. “It’s the old Volkswagen.” “I see it.” You’re so out of it that you almost try to get in on the passenger side. It’s the kind of slip up that Harry might have teased you about, but he’s quiet and looking around, too. You pull the jacket you’d left on the seat last night into your lap, the two of you strap in, and you cannot pull out into the street fast enough. The mustard yellow envelope in the back seat is an unwelcome passenger, visible in your rearview mirror.  Who else knew about these photos? How many are there that weren’t in your envelope? Are they online somewhere? Would they follow you to law school? Your grip tightens on the steering wheel as you grind your teeth. “Alright?” Harry asks. His voice brings you back down to earth. He’d asked you that question when you pricked your finger on the poppy in your jacket pocket. He’d asked you in his bed on the most terrifying night of your life. And he’s asking you now. You nod. “I will be.” • saturday, 5th january 10:42 am • In the parking lot behind Lavender Hill Police Station, you’ve killed the engine but remain in your seat. Part of you is still reluctant to have Harry come along; keeping your composure in front of the police feels hard enough without the prospect of him being there, too, but maybe that’s the one thing that will get you through this. “Sorry.” You shake your head, suddenly aware of how long you’ve been sitting motionless at the wheel. Harry’s gaze is unperturbed. He watches you push anxiously at the sleeves of his sweater. “Take all the time you need.” It’s the same phrase the initial officer who’d taken your statement all those weeks ago had used. It’s what Officer Warren had said to you on the phone last night, and you’re so tired of hearing it. You don’t want to have as much time as you need to feel calm or steady or normal again. You want your time back. You want to reclaim all those extra seconds spent checking over your shoulder, the minutes lost to changing your routes, and the hours spent staring up at the ceiling when you should have been asleep. Rationally, you know that there will be time to relearn how to walk down the street and feel at ease, and plan that trip to Brighton you and India have been talking about for months. There will be time with Harry that isn’t this… stuck in a cramped space, crushed by the weight of your own fear. You hate the way you felt with him in the lift this morning; you want that back most of all. “Faster we get in there,” you say—half to Harry, half to yourself, “the faster we’ll get to leave.” Harry nods. “C’mon then.” The heather grey of the building is no less intimidating than it was in October, but at least this time you don’t have to pull the heavy glass doors open on your own. Inside, you speak with the woman at reception, who gestures for you to sit in a small waiting area just beyond the desk. People in uniform bustle back and forth. Harry’s leg brushes against yours as you sit. He doesn’t move. Neither do you. You have no sense of how long you sit waiting—this doesn’t feel like a place where it’s appropriate to play Solitaire on your phone. You can feel Harry looking at you periodically, but you don’t glance back until a woman with a familiar voice appears before you. She ushers you to follow with a quick, professional smile. Harry doesn’t quite offer the same, but you’re reassured anyway. “I’m Officer Warren.” She stops at a desk with an empty chair beside it. You take care to shake her hand firmly, introducing yourself with all the confidence you can scrap together. “Are you comfortable sitting here?” “Yes, this is fine.” If either Harry or Officer Warren notice your voice is an octave higher, neither of them make any sign. “Good.” She reaches past you to shake Harry’s hand too. “Harry.” “Nice to meet you both. We can also find a conference room, if you’d like somewhere more private, or if you’d both like to sit.” Harry speaks up when you don’t right away. “I’m fine standing.” He looks exactly as he had in the car—calm and willing to take your lead, so you sit before you can change your mind. Officer Warren smiles again, clearly trying to put you at ease. You wish it was more effective. “Right, well I won’t take up too much of your time. Since I took your statement last night, I’ve already got a copy of the transcript from our conversation over the phone, and you won’t need to go over all of that again.” Your shoulders cave a little in relief. Harry’s fingers hook gently over the top of your chair. “Okay.” “But,” she continues, “there is the matter of how to proceed. What we talked about regarding your flat still stands… it really isn’t safe for you to remain there, especially since the suspect seems to know which one is yours, and we still don’t have a clear idea of where he is now, or how he was able to access the car park in your building in the first place.” “So…” You shake your head, in either confusion or denial. “I can’t even go home?” “I’m afraid not, for the time being.” Her eyes are soft, regretful. “Not if he knows where you live. Not if there’s a chance he could get more photographs, or try to break in again.” Your stomach twists. “Were you able to figure out who he is?” You’re not even sure you want to know. Officer Warren’s mouth pinches apologetically. “Not yet. We have a couple technicians working on the security footage and the photos you’ve turned in, so hopefully we’ll be able to get something from them. The car he was driving had no plates. You haven’t seen any sign of him since we spoke last?” You shake your head, and she glances up at Harry as if to confirm. “Alright, that’s a good sign at least. He knows we’re watching, now. On the other hand, there’s a chance he’ll carry on, but be stealthier about it. Is it possible for you to physically stay inside, completely out of sight for let’s say, a week?” “I mean… where?” “Do you have somewhere else you can stay for the time being? With a friend?” You open your mouth, but the “Yes,” is not your own. You force yourself not to turn back to look at him; Harry’s fingers touch your shoulder again. “Yes, she does. She can stay with me. We live in the same building after all, so it’ll hardly be disruptive.” Officer Warren gives him a long look. You can’t tell if she approves or is displeased with him for speaking for you, but now that the initial shock has worn off, gratitude washes over you. Asking India to stay with her indefinitely would have been out of the question; there’s no way you’re endangering your best friend any more than you already have. You’d be putting her in a position where she couldn’t say no. She has four roommates. She doesn’t even know about the photos yet.  “That works,” you hear yourself say. This will only be for a few days, you reason—it’ll buy you just enough time to find your feet. By then, you can sort out a longer-term place to stay if the police still haven’t found the man. Officer Warren is speaking again, and it takes effort to actively refocus on the conversation. “The objective here is to make it seem as though you’re gone. On holiday. He’ll be keeping an eye on the building, no doubt, so he’ll notice if the car is gone, or your flat is empty. Is there any way you can take your classes remotely?” You find you can barely speak, so you just nod instead.  She leans in a little, her eyes finding yours more carefully. “I know it’s frightening, but you’ve been incredibly strong. This won’t be forever. In the meantime, we can send an officer back with you this afternoon so you can gather a few of your things.” You nod again. “Do you have any questions for me?” You force yourself to say, “No, thank you,” which Harry echoes. Officer Warren nods, almost perfunctorily, and stands. “If you wait here just a minute, I’ll introduce you to the officer who’ll take you back to your flat. You’ll be in an unmarked car, and we can arrange for yours to be retrieved.” “Thank you. I’ll call my friend now,” you say. “Maybe she can… I'll have to ask her to look after my cat. And it’s her car, anyway.” Officer Warren nods, apparently satisfied.  You shake her hand again, though your mind is stuck on this won’t be forever. As you rise from the chair, you feel the gentle pressure of Harry’s hand on the small of your back. When Officer Warren returns with another uniformed policeman, you don’t want to move, but your legs carry you anyway. Harry’s gaze finds the side of your face periodically like a lighthouse beam while you call India from the backseat of the police car. After reassuring her again that you’re fine, you gloss over the details of staying in Harry’s flat. You can tell even in her silence that she’s not going to let you off the hook that easily, so you start rambling about what to do with Chowder before she gets the chance to say something embarrassing while Harry is sitting right there. “Of course I’m taking Chowder,” she says before you get the chance to phrase the question. “Don’t even worry about it. I’ll get in a cab right now. Do you need help packing up?” “Yeah sure, thank you. But what about your car?” “I’ll take the keys from you and get it after. Honestly, it’s fine. It’s not like it’s gonna get stolen from the bloody police station.” It’s a stupid joke but you’re comforted a little anyway. “Okay.” “Be there soon. I love you.” “Love you too.” Harry glances over at you. “Everything okay?” “Yeah.” You smile a little and for the first time in ages, it doesn’t feel forced. “She’s gonna meet us at home and take Chowder for me.” “That’s great.” “I know,” you reply, a little distant. “Harry, thank you for coming with me… It was nice not to have to, y’know, do that alone.” “That’s alright.” His voice is equally gentle. “We’re gonna… They’re gonna find him. And they’re gonna fix this, and then everything’s gonna go back to normal.” You aren’t sure which of you he’s trying to reassure, but Harry meets your eyes and you nod. Back at your building, you meet up with India. “Think I might just pop home, if that’s alright,” Harry says, going in for the sixth-floor button on the keypad. “I told Annie a bit about what’s going on, but I owe her an update.” “Of course.” You look up at him in the reflection of the doors. “We’ll see you down there.” It’s your first time seeing the dent and scratches on the door to your flat in person. You shiver, turn the key, and push the door open.  “Chowder!” you shout as a flash of orange darts through your legs, meowing down the hall. The officer’s hand lands reflexively on his baton as your cat scares all three of you half to death. Once you manage to corral your cat back to your corner of the hallway, you struggle to keep him still in your arms. “Indy, his crate is under my bed—” “Hold off a minute, I’m going to do a quick walkthrough. I’m sure everything’s fine, but wait out here.” The officer leaves the door cracked open behind him. India offers a small, encouraging smile when you flinch at the sound of him announcing himself in your apartment. You stroke between Chowder’s ears; he is heavy and warm in your arms, and his fur sticks uncomfortably to the sweat on your palms. “All clear.” The officer reappears. “Let’s try to be quick about this.” India immediately ducks through the door following him, but you have to take a deep breath before stepping through the threshold. The place looks completely untouched. Had you been expecting company, perhaps you would have thought to clear the dishes from the sink or remove your laundry from the drying rack. After coercing an unusually talkative Chowder into his travel crate, you and India work as a team to stuff as much into your duffel bag as will fit. Shirts, bras, and pants hurtle past your head. “Indy, I’m staying at a neighbor’s for a few days—what on earth am I going to need this for?” You hold up the silk, strappy dress that just landed on your neatly-folded stacks, shooting her a disapproving look. “I’m just grabbing and throwing!” “Well just, y’know… let’s make sure we’re not speeding through this at the expense of packing with a little common sense.” “I’ve got this,” India says, waving down at the open duffel. “Go sort whatever toiletries you need, yeah?” Thankfully you’ve stayed overnight at her place enough times to warrant a travel case of essentials that lives under your bathroom sink. There’s makeup cluttered all over the counter. You stare at it a moment before rolling your eyes at yourself. “We should probably get going.” The officer’s voice from the other room startles you both as India zips up your duffel. “Are you two about ready?”  As you stick your head out of your bedroom, the officer is peeking through the blinds across the street. “Yes,” you reply. “We are.” Overnight bag and Chowder in tow, you clamber back onto the lift. “Did you get your toothbrush?” “Yes.” “Face wash?” “Yes.” “Pillow?” “Indy, you saw me putting it in—” “Towel?” “Yes.” “Phone charger?” “… Shit.” Ding. The officer steps out with you on the sixth floor as you thank him, and bid a quick goodbye once he reassures you to call if you need anything or, of course, if anything happens. India turns to face you next. “He’s this way.” You nod down the hall, and she leads. “It’s right at the end. The one with the wreath.” The doors of the lift close. You don’t want to think about the last time you’d been walking down this corridor and heard that sound from behind you. India moves aside holding Chowder’s crate by the handle, and the shopping bag full of his supplies as you step up to the welcome mat with your things. Harry swings open the door to his apartment after the second knock, immediately taking the duffel bag from off of your shoulder. “Oh, Harry, you don’t have to—” “I got it.” India elbows you in the ribs. Harry turns to carry your bag to Sylvia's room, and when you look behind at her, her eyebrows are raised above an animated smirk. “Don’t,” you whisper through gritted teeth. She raises a hand in defense as Harry returns before reaching out to accept his offered hand. “Hello, I’m India.” “Harry.”  “Pleasure.” He flashes her a warm smile. She nods appreciatively as they shake hands—at you, however, instead of Harry and your cheeks ignite. “Okay great. That’s settled then. Shall we—um… Indy?” You cut in, then turn to her, nodding to the door with I’m going to kill you in your eyes. “Lovely to meet you, Harry!” “Cheers, dear. You as well.” Harry’s attention returns to you for a moment. “I’ll just be…” He gestures vaguely to the kitchen. You step out into the hall with India. Chowder meows from the crate in her arms and she almost drops him. “What,” you hiss, “was that?”  She ignores your tone, then says your name like it’s a plea. “Call me if you need absolutely anything, or text me—no matter what time it is. I’ll drop everything and come straight to you.” “I’m sleeping two floors below where I usually do, Indy, I’m not dying.” “I know, I know… How’s a Skype dinner tomorrow night? I’ll order us a take away.” “Definitely.” You wish you could squeeze her in another tight hug, but Chowder’s crate impedes you. “Thank you.” “Love you, babe.” “Love you too.” She looks unsatisfied. “It’s going to be fine, I promise. Text me when we’re eating, okay?” You begin to walk backward into Harry’s apartment and blow her a kiss. “I will… Bye!” “Please don’t kill my cat!” You lean on the door frame, watching India’s silhouette shrink as she heads back down the hall to the lift with Chowder. You sigh and close the door, but as you turn around, your hand rushes to your chest in a gasp; Harry is standing just behind you, rubbing his face. “So I’ve just rung Annie while you were upstairs… ” He steps aside to give you a clear path through the hallway. “Oh?” “I’m sorry—they’re just coming,” he rushes, sounding a little panicked as you step into Sylvia's room. You set your phone and laptop down with the rest of your things. “They insisted ‘cause they’ve got a spare mattress, and I told them you needed a place to crash for a bit and also that you stayed here last night so… yeah. You don’t have to be here for that. When they come—oh, and they probably have Sylvia, too, if that’s… ” Harry trails off.” “Wait, I’m sorry.” You close your eyes and shake your head. “Annie? You mean—” “Sylvia’s mum, yeah, and um… her fiancé, AJ.” Harry tilts his head down, as if to gauge your reaction. “And they want to give… they have a spare mattress? But you already have a mattress.” “That’s what I said!” Harry gestures wildly. It must have been a lively phone call. “Oh, well that’s… awfully kind of them,” you begin, trying to keep up. “Would it be easier if I wasn’t—” “No.” He’s clearly surprised at his own volume as he cuts you off. Harry literally leans back, hesitating. “I mean… stay. They’d love to meet you. They’re my family and you’re…” His eyes flit back to yours and hang on. “You’re obviously gonna to be staying here a bit, and they drop by all the time so I jus’ don’t wanna overwhelm you, is all.” Suddenly, it’s your turn struggling to look at him. “Well, I—” “H, open the door! This is heavy!” a voice bellows from beyond the front door. Harry’s eyes shut momentarily. “Coming!” he calls. You stand there, in the doorway to Sylvia’s room, stunned at the pace with which this is all unfolding. Harry jogs to the door. You poke your head out as an explosion of noise disrupts what had before been so peaceful. A child’s high-pitched shriek rips through the flat, followed by a long, labored groan from Harry as Sylvia barrels into his arms and he crouches down to lift her. “How’s Daddy’s girl?” he greets. Sylvia simply continues screaming and tries to bend over backward out of his arms. “Hi, Harry.” A striking woman with jet-black hair waltzes in, carrying a large dish of food wrapped in tin foil, seemingly unphased. Harry shifts Sylvia to one arm, bending over to greet her in a side hug and quick kiss to the cheek. “Hi, love.” What appears to be a twin sized mattress with twig legs follows in suit, grunting softly. “Still heavy.” “Right, sorry.” Harry hands Sylvia off to who you assume is Annie as he hurries to take the mattress, revealing a second, much taller woman with sunglasses atop her blonde head of hair. She’s wearing red lipstick and bright suede pumps. “There we go,” she sighs. “I need a fag.” Harry almost takes out a light fixture as he hauls the bed. You press yourself up against the wall as he offers a quick, “S’cuse me,” and passes you to Sylvia's room. The two women look at you as simultaneous smiles light their faces. “Hi!” “Hello!” Sylvia waves at you, too. “Guess this one doesn’t need an introduction,” the dark-haired woman laughs, approaching with a hand extended. You notice that she’s the one wearing the ring. “I’m Annie.” “It’s great to meet you, Harry has spoken so highly of both of you.” You turn to the other woman after introducing yourself. “AJ.” One corner of her mouth quirks up. “It’s a pleasure.” “Thank you so much for the mattress, ” you begin, wringing your hands. “It seems like everyone’s done so much to help me in the past few days… It’s really meant a lot.” AJ tilts her head to look at you with a more meaningful gaze, and Annie steps forward to rest a hand on your forearm. “Harry hasn’t gone into a terrible amount of detail but… we’re so, awfully sorry for what’s happened to you.” She squeezes gently, her fingers in the crook of your elbow. The strange familiarity of the gesture disarms you. “I can’t imagine what you must be going through, and with your family so far away—I just… we heard about what was going on, and that was it. We had to help.” You nod and suddenly have trouble swallowing. There’s just something different about discussing this with women. “Harry’s air mattress,” AJ chips in, sardonic, “belongs in an incinerator.” “Hey!” His voice comes muted from the open door of Sylvia’s bedroom. Now that you’ve seen the both of them together up close, you realize how wrong you were in thinking that Sylvia only took after her father. Annie’s features are evident in her daughter’s deep, brown eyes, her nose, and the high angles of her cheeks.  “Well,” Annie starts, raising her eyebrows at everyone, “we’re obviously feeding you.” You laugh in disbelief. “No you’re not!” “We are!” She smiles as she sets Sylvia down, who weaves through everyone’s legs to her bedroom. “And relax, it’s already cooked so there’s no use in turning it down.” AJ pulls you in for a side hug, which you were grossly unprepared for. “Thank… you.” In your bewilderment, it’s all you can manage to say as Annie removes the tin foil from a full pan’s helping of chicken and vegetables. “Isn’t this supposed to be tomorrow’s roast? The Sunday roast?” Harry appears in the kitchen with Sylvia on his hip. He frowns, poking his head over Annie’s shoulder as she preheats the oven. “I have no idea what you’re talking about,” she replies. They lock eyes. Something tender passes between them; part of you feels like you should look away. “Annie… ” Harry says, softer now. “You didn’t have to do all this.” She ignores him, setting the timer on the oven as AJ slides a small mountain of tupperware into the fridge. The kettle starts to scream. You hadn’t realized someone started tea. You’re not sure what to do besides stand by the sink and stare. AJ rushes over to fill four steaming mugs, portioning different amounts of cream and honey into each. She turns to the few stray dishes in the sink, beginning to wash. “AJ, stop tha—” “Harry, relax would you?” She whips his leg with a dish towel and he relents. “Why is she staying in my room?” Sylvia pipes up from Harry’s arms. He looks across the kitchen at you, and then down to her. “Well see, bug, Daddy’s got a friend who’s gonna stay here for a little while.” Harry points at you and twists so she has a better view. You wave your fingers at her, and Harry asks Sylvia if she can say your name, but she simply buries her face into his sweater. “Like a slumber party?” “Um—” Harry falters. “Sort of, but not quite.” “It’s a grown-up slumber party?” AJ chokes on her tea. The tips of Harry’s ears go crimson.  “Honey, it’s like when Auntie Kristen comes over to Mummy and Mum’s to stay on holiday,” Annie salvages. Harry’s shoulders visibly relax.  Sylvia tugs at the collar of Harry’s sweater. “How long?” she begs. Your heart falls. “‘M not sure, Vi.” Harry moves some hair from her face as she pouts, then kisses her forehead. “Not forever.” “This’ll be good for you, Harry. You need more friends.” Annie pinches Harry’s side before turning to you with a smirk. “Maybe you can finally start hanging out with people your own age.” You shrug to play along, pursing your lips against a smile. “I mean… ” “Harry doesn’t go out much.” Annie’s comedic whisper fills the room as she carries your tea over to you. “Neither do you!” Harry retorts, frowning playfully over his shoulder, attempting to smack her; she narrowly dodges. “Yeah, just the one time,” AJ deadpans, pointing between them and then nodding to Sylvia. “Jesus Christ,” Harry breathes before they break into laughter. You can’t help but join in. Sylvia’s head swings from parent to parent, smiling in oblivious delight. “Alright, alright,” Annie wipes a tear from the corner of her eye. “Just leave the roast in there until you’re ready to eat. We should get going soon.” “Have you got sheets that fit the bed?” Harry asks, bouncing Sylvia on his hip. “Right!” Annie’s eyes go wide. She turns to AJ, “Darling, you mind popping down to the car to get those?” “Since I already hauled up the mattress, am I allowed to play the gender card?” AJ throws eyes at Harry. “Hands are full,” he replies cheerfully. He holds one of Sylvia’s arms up to wave. “Fine,” she relents, plucking the keys from Annie’s back pocket. “Thank you!” Annie calls after her. AJ simply waves a hand behind her head. “Promise I’ll make it worth your while later!” AJ begins to walk faster. Harry shoots Annie a jokingly scandalized look with a hand covering his gaping mouth. She squints at him and rolls her eyes. He puts Sylvia down, whispering in her ear as he points to the miniature arts and crafts table in the living room.  Sylvia takes a seat on the colorful stool, her tiny features already pinched in concentration as she finds a crayon and begins to draw. Harry crouches at her side, watching her for a moment before kissing the top of her head. He breezes past you before you hear the bathroom door lock shut and now it’s just you and Annie alone together. “I love Harry, but he’s a man and he doesn’t know anything.” You shouldn’t laugh, but you do. “We live ten minutes away. If you need anything at all—anything, I mean it, please call us. Mine and AJ’s mobile numbers are both on the fridge.” “Thank you, Annie.” She hesitates, playing absently with the tag of her tea bag before nodding to the living room. “Let’s sit.” You have a seat on the couch; Annie takes the small leather armchair on the other side of the coffee table. Her eyes are warm. You see a flash of that expression that had passed between her and Harry. “He is a good man.” Annie’s voice is so low, it’s almost a whisper. “One of the best I’ve ever met… You’re in good hands, I promise.” There isn’t a chance for you to respond as the sound of the faucet running in the bathroom interrupts. Harry re-enters the living room, his eyes flitting between yours and Annie’s with a curious look on his face. “Am I interrupting something?” “Course not, lovely. We’re just waiting for AJ with the sheets,” Annie replies. She must be killer at poker. AJ slips through the door with a folded bundle of checkered sheets nearly covering her face. “Miss me?” She perches on the armrest of Annie’s chair upon returning from Syvia’s room, an arm wrapped around her shoulders. You are acutely aware of the warmth of Harry’s leg against yours, suddenly too nervous to shift and potentially draw attention to it. Though you try hard not to, you can practically see the silent conversation happening between the three other adults in the room; if you had to guess, it’s probably about you. You categorically refuse to look at Harry, so you’re left with AJ’s nearly imperceptible eyebrow-raising, and a curl of Annie’s lip that seems to be a question and a confirmation all at once. The three of them are a little… too quiet. “Well we should be off then,” she says, drawing her hands together in a clap. “Someone needs a bath tonight.”  Sylvia hurries over and locks her arms around Harry’s legs. He scoops her up like she weighs absolutely nothing. “C’mon now, angel,” he murmurs, glancing over his daughter’s head to look at you with a vaguely resigned expression. “Gonna see you tomorrow, aren’t I? Gotta be good for your mums.” Harry fixes Sylvia’s wobbling lower lip with a stern look. “Hey, now. What’s this about? S’not any different from Mummy’s normal turn with you, right? You know you’ve got too much love pumpkin, we gotta share ya.” Sylvia mumbles something too soft to make out; Harry ducks his head close. “Tell me?” You don’t catch all the words, except, “stars.” His face crumples a bit. “Oh honey, of course you’ll still have your bedtime stars. They’re not going anywhere. Nobody’s gonna take your stars.” “And that sounds like the beginning of a meltdown,” Annie says, standing quickly and pulling Sylvia from Harry’s arms. “Best be on our way before she tests all our eardrums.” Sylvia momentarily seems like she might reach back for him, but then she looks at you as though by accident, and shrinks back into her mother’s arms. Shame knots in your stomach as the two women head for the door. Sylvia peeks over Annie’s shoulder as AJ slings her purse over her arm with the car keys in hand. You busy yourself clearing the empty mugs of tea in some small attempt to give them privacy. “Come ‘round about six, yeah?” Annie says as AJ waves at you and disappears first out the door. Harry is sliding Sylvia’s arm through the second sleeve of her coat. His and Annie’s teamwork seems fluid and practiced. “Sounds good.” He tugs her tiny knit hat more securely over her curls. “Love you, bug.” “Hôn ba đi, Vi.”  You have no idea what Annie’s just said to Sylvia but Harry leans forward to receive his daughter’s kiss, placing an audible one on her forehead in return.  He says something else to Sylvia that’s not English. That deeply tender look in Annie’s face returns. Harry’s hand falls to her waist and she touches his jaw to place a quick peck at the corner of his mouth. “Call us if you need anything.” She turns back to you. “You too. Our numbers are—” “On the fridge,” you finish with a smile, waving. “Thank you, Annie.” Harry shuts the door behind them and the flat falls silent for the first time in what feels like ages. You hear him laugh once before he turns to you. “Sorry about that.” “No. Harry, I should be the one apologizing. Sylvia’s so upset, I feel awful.” Harry looks from you to the door and back again, shaking his head as he moves towards the kitchen. “Oh no, don’t worry about that. She was mostly tired, is all. Happens all the time.” He pauses before joking, “Sorry you had to hear my really terrible Vietnamese.” You watch as he begins to rifle through the cabinets. “What are you doing?” “I’m sure I left it in here somewhere—aha!” He holds an empty mason jar aloft before grabbing a sharpie and the magnetic pad of Hello Kitty sticky notes from the fridge door. Harry scrawls quickly, the cap of the pen between his teeth, before sticking a note on the glass and holding it up for you to read the big, block letters. APOLOGIES.

To Save a Dog’s Life
Genre: angst, fluff Warnings: reader sustaining injuries  Summary: Bakugo, Todoroki, Deku, and Kirishima’s reaction to the reader who risks their life to save a dog A/N: I am not a doctor so sorry if none of this is ✨accurate✨
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Katsuki Bakugo:
he is literally blasting towards the villain when you jump in out of nowhere
he slams on his nonliteral brakes and gawks for a second
what kind of moron are you?
you run right at the villain before stopping a couple of feet away to pick something up
wait
is that a...?
it’s a dog
you start to run away again when the villain sends rubble your way
Ground Zero is right back into action when he gets over his initial shock
but, of course, he just wasn’t fast enough
next thing he knows, you’re being crushed
he flies to you using his quirk and lands before you
he goes to help you while the other idiots try to stop the villain
“You sure are stupid.”
that is literally the first thing he says to you when he reaches you
he’s not very good at this part of the whole hero thing
you gawk up at him after telling the dog to run home
he watches the dog take off before looking back to you
“Did you seriously just risk your life to save a dumb mutt?” he asks as he tries to lift the rock off of you
you scoff at his question, rolling your eyes
“Well duh! The poor thing was about to be crushed!”
Bakugo gives you a straight face as he assesses your situation right now
your entire lower half is trapped under concrete
“God, you’re such an idiot,” he groans before deciding to just blast the rubble away
you scoff again and go to say something as you move to stand up when you feel it
you cry out in agony, your legs refusing to move
“Your legs are broken, you imbecile. Stop moving,” he snaps, moving to lift you up bridal style
you huff and roll your eyes, looking at the villain who is now tied up
“My hero,” you say sarcastically
he clicks his tongue and scowls at the sight of the villain restrained
“You made me miss all the action, you extra.”
“Do you have a single nice bone in your body?” you snap, growing agitated
“I saved you, didn’t I?” he snaps right back
you huff and look away from him once more
“Touché.”
he personally took you to the hospital and made sure you were taken care of before leaving
he barely spoke the entire time he was with you after you both reached the hospital
you can’t help but feel sad that he left
maybe you only like him because he saved you?
but he’s so handsome...
and he can keep up with your quips and sarcasm...
you tried to forget about him during your stay in the hospital but it was hard
he was always on tv saving people and he even appeared in your dreams
stupid hero
when you started physical therapy, halfway through the first session, you discovered that he was there
you asked for a break and sat in your wheelchair before wheeling on over to him
“Ground Zero?” you ask shocked
“Yeah. Good thing your brain isn’t more damaged than it already is,” he says as he crosses his arms over his chest
you grunt and roll your eyes
“And you’re here because...” you trail off, waiting for him to fill in the blank
he stays silent for a moment, just staring at you
then he finally says, “I just wanted to tell you that the stupid dog you saved is okay. The family found it and said they’ll pay for your hospital bills as thanks.”
you’re shocked, to say the least
you try to argue with him but he says it’s too late and it’s already been done
turns out, he’s actually the one who paid for them
he didn’t lie about the family’s dog though. They got you flowers, balloons, and a ‘get well soon’ card to which he brought to your room
after that one visit, he found himself coming around more often
after your legs were good as new, you ended up asking him on a date
you’ll never let him live down how red his face got
Tumblr media
Shoto Todoroki:
he uses his right side to freeze the villain’s legs in place
this is when he sees you just a couple of feet away with your feet stuck as well
you’re also holding a dog?
you quickly set the dog down though and let it run away from you
before he can do anything else, the villain extends his arms to you and hits you with all of his might
so he can extend his body
he must also know that saving you is the priority
because he hit you from behind and made you go forward
since part of your legs are stuck in the ice though, your knees break with the pressure as you fall forward to the ground
Todoroki curses and quickly freezes the rest of the villain, not even caring at this point if he freezes the villain to death
he goes to your side and uses his left hand to melt the ice around your legs
you look up at him with wide eyes, staring at him and refusing to look away
“Is the dog okay?” you stutter out, voice laced with pain
he was not expecting that
his brows furrow at your question as he looks at your face before looking back down to your legs
yup, your legs are definitely broken
“Yeah. It ran away. Is it your dog?” he asks as he lifts you up
you shake your head with a weak laugh
“Oh, no. I just saw it and knew I needed to save it.”
he honestly can’t believe you right now
you risked your life to save a dog that isn’t even yours
you’re starting to remind him of Deku
did you hit your head too?
he takes you to the hospital, leaving the villain to the police
he doesn’t even bother melting the ice for them
he stays with you for as long as he can before visitors are forced to leave
he visits you every single day though
it is his fault that you got stuck there and then the villain attacked you
you tried to tell him it wasn’t necessary but he refused to listen
it took a while for your legs to heal and for you to be able to walk again but the day eventually came
Todoroki then told you he’s taking you out to eat
yes, you read that right
he didn’t ask
he demanded it
he tried to tell himself that it’s because he felt guilty for being the cause of this
when in reality
over the time he visited and stayed with you at the hospital, he began to grow feelings for you
you already felt bad enough for getting in his way and having him pay for your hospital bills (despite your protests)
and now he wants to take you out to eat?
you agree but only if you could pay for the meal
he agrees, if anything, to just see you longer
Tumblr media
Izuku Midoriya:
he’s already in mid-jump heading toward the villain when you appear out of nowhere
he starts to panic but tries to remain calm
wait, okay
maybe you have a quirk and just want to help
maybe you’re not an innocent civilian
yeah, you’re most definitely not a hero
you pick up a dog that’s about to get crushed by the villain and turn around just to have Deku run into you
he can’t exactly stop himself in the middle of the air
you both crash to the ground and you weakly let the puppy go to let it run off to safety
you cough a bit as Deku quickly moves off of you
just as he does though, the villain sends heavy debris both of your ways
he punches through it to make the pieces smaller but they still hit you
one hits your head and has you laying back down onto the ground
he quickly takes care of the villain before rushing to you
he jumps high into the air with you in his arms to the rooftops, knowing it’ll be quicker for him to take you to the hospital this way rather than having you go through traffic
“Did you just risk your life to save a dog?” he asks incredulously
at your weak laugh and nod, he can’t help to smile a bit despite his worrying
you’re just like him
even before he got his quirk, he was running out into danger to save the people he cared about
you pass out halfway there and it only makes him go faster
when he brings you inside, he refuses to let you go unless it’s absolutely necessary
he just wants, no—needs you to be okay
turns out you have a concussion
he asks the doctor how long you’ll be here for
“Normally, someone who sustains a head injury only needs to stay three to seven days unless it’s serious. We won’t know until we run some tests,” he replies smoothly before excusing himself to check on other patients
whether you’re there for a couple of days or a couple of weeks, Deku is there for it all
it’s his fault you got hurt in the first place
with his caring and protective personality, it didn’t take long for you two to become close
anytime he mentioned you getting hurt is his fault, you stop him and reassure him it’s not
“You saved me. You’re my favorite hero. I’ll never forget that day,” you reassure him the first time he ever said it was his fault
you’re the first person to tell him that he’s your favorite hero
he’s red in the face for the rest of that day
the day you’re released, he asks you to get food with him
“Deku, are you asking me out on a date?” you tease
“No! Maybe! Yes! Only if you want to!” he stutters out, face the darkest shade of red you’ve ever seen
and who would you be to deny him?
Tumblr media
Eijirou Kirishima:
he’s trying to think of a plan on how to stop the difficult villain when you appear out of thin air
he thinks you’re a hero for a second before he realizes that you’re just a civilian trying to save a dog
the giant villain is about to crush the dog with his foot when you run towards the villain, grab the dog, and slide it out of the way
it was very manly of you, whether you’re a man or not
Kirishima is very moved and even tears up a little
he snaps out of it though when he realizes that you couldn’t move out of the way fast enough and got stepped on
Kirishima has never moved so quickly in his life
he hardens as he runs at the villain and goes right through their leg
it’s gross and he’s covered in blood but at least it prevents the villain from walking anymore
he runs to your side and checks to see if you’re alive, praying that you are
if you died because he wasn’t manly enough and didn’t stop the villain sooner...
his whole body softens when he realizes that you’re still breathing and you have a heartbeat
both are weak though and you need medical attention asap
he lets the ambulance take you since its the fastest way
he makes sure to know what hospital you’re going to though
once he knows, he saves it into his memory as he heads home to clean up
when he’s free of blood and in his regular clothes, he goes to the hospital to visit you
he’s devastated to find out you’re in a coma
this is all his fault
you stay that way for weeks but you best believe that Kirishima visits you every. single. day.
he talks to you too
he tells you about his day, what he learned in class, his friends, about being a hero, and anything else
he’ll spend the whole day there and he never grows bored
sometimes, he’ll even read to you or work on homework out loud
no matter what he’s doing, he makes sure to include you
because what if you’re awake but just can’t show it and you’re so incredibly bored?
he’s there when you wake up
you’re shocked to see him there and even more surprised to watch him start to cry
he begs for your forgiveness and promises that he’ll be a more manly hero and do a better job at protecting people
all you do at first is smile at him and weakly reach for his hand
“Thank you for saving my life. I heard you, you know. Everything you said to me,” you say weakly, voice barely working thanks to lack of use for weeks
he wipes his teary eyes with his free hand and smiles the brightest smile you’ve ever seen
he thanks you and makes sure to visit you every day until you’re released
when you are, he blushes as red as his hair and asks you out on a date
“I think it’s only fair to keep you company after you’ve kept me company after all this time,” you lightly tease
he tries to get rid of his blush while you laugh at how red he’s turning
yeah, it didn’t take long for you to start dating

Mayhem Times Infinity
Part Two: Multiverse Mayhem
Pairing: Loki Laufeyson x fem!reader (enemies reluctant co-workers to lovers)
Rating: 18+
Warnings: cw mentions of death, gore, trauma; the snap, violence, comic mischief, language
Word Count: 4k
Summary: The duo finds out what odds they're up against, but Loki has other plans.
A/N: Hey babes! I couldn't help but put in the work ASAP on this one. Gotta chase that hyper-fixation high. I'm ready to move into the "will they" part of this story! Sorry, for that slow burn, guys. Also, this doesn't necessarily join up at all with the series, but I threw a little nod in there, a little Professor Loki at the end. Enjoy 💕
Masterlist | Part One | Part Three
Let me know if you'd like to be tagged :)
“So, to summarize,” Loki drawled. “This is Earth-616, and it’s in danger.” Doctor Strange groaned, but nodded. Four hours. You had been listening to Doctor Strange for four hours. He had detailed the Multiverses, interdimensional travel, sling rings, all-powerful creatures more heinous than Thanos, and the ultimate demise of Earth-616--your Earth, your universe--and all Loki could do was joke.
You were reeling. Sure, you had considered the idea of other dimensions. You gulped as you tried to wrap your head around the gravity of the situation. There was a Multiverse jumper, Strange had given you all the information he could about the existence of multiverses and the area the villain was from, but couldn’t be more specific.
“Sure, in short. Now, listen, we don’t know who exactly is doing this. It would seem they’re working for Kang or Gah Lak Tus, but we aren’t certain of anything. We’re sending you for reconnaissance. Find out anything you can.”
“Yes, but why us? Why not the Guardians with Thor?” You asked. The tea in your hands too cold to enjoy, but you took a small sip anyway. You pulled a small face, and lowered the small cup again.
“They’re busy.” Strange told you without preamble.
“Well, so are we. He was just resurrected, and I’m technically homeless right now.” You argued, lifting the cup again, and taking another sip. The now pleasantly warm liquid tasted much better than it had even when you poured it. You raised an eyebrow at Loki, wondering if it was his magic, but he was looking at Strange, a small smirk on his lips.
“Then it should be less of a discussion. You’ll need to travel light, and neither of you are otherwise entangled. Now, do you recall our conversation of sling rings?” You nodded, and yelped when a thick bar ring appeared on your hand.
“I just focus?”
“Yes, visualize, focus and see the destination. Look beyond what you see. You know how to do that. This is the only way you’ll be able to travel through the multiverse, and I only have the one. You’ll have to travel together.”
“Okay. What about the Negative Zone?” You asked, your hand weighed down by the new accessory. The physical weight was negligible, but the mental weight left you straining.
“Start there. Remember Earth-616 is yours. Though it is unlikely anyone will refer to them as their numerical filing. What’s your job?” Strange asked, and you huffed, annoyed.
“Gather intel. We can handle it.” You snapped, and he lifted his hand.
Suddenly, a golden ring appeared before you, and on the other side an empty field.
“Go on, then.” Strange challenged, and you shot him a look, but walked through the portal.
You felt the portal close behind you, the energy rippling shut.
“That was strange.” Loki murmured, smoothing his leather jacket down. Without thinking, without pause, you replied.
“Doctor Strange.”
“That is not a good joke, darling.” Your eyebrows shot up.
“First, it definitely is. Second, ‘darling,’?” You asked.
“I told you, I refuse to call you ‘Stone,’ and you haven’t supplied anything else.” Loki argued, and began walking through the field. The grass, untouched, reached far up his long legs engulfing his waist, and you tried to pull your attention away from how he looked surrounded by the golden strands.
Celestial. God-like, you thought as you failed.
“Well, perhaps we should focus on the mission instead.” You cleared your throat as you walked to him. You tried to ignore how you had to incline your head to see him, failing again as you took in the height difference.
“Yes. I was thinking, we should perhaps change our clothes to fit in.” Loki mused, and you nodded.
“Good idea. Where are we?” You asked. It looked...vaguely Earth-like.
“How should I know? Aren’t you the one blessed with infinite knowledge?” He grumbled. You rubbed your palm down your face, and tried to perceive your location.
“I got nothing, Mayhem.” You mused, and began walking again.
“Casual linens, then?” Loki inquired, a ghost of a smile on his lips. You shrugged, and before you had relaxed your shoulders back down, you were draped in a dark green gown. You rolled your eyes at Loki’s shit-eating grin.
“Subtle.” You told him, gesturing down. He held his hands out in a shrug, and you laughed. He had matched his own ‘casual’ clothes in the same deep shade of green. You expected another jab, but instead he started walking away from you, and didn't break pace to see if you were coming. You jogged to catch him.
"Where are you going?" You asked, slightly out of breath. You were only just realizing how much taller he was than you. His long legs had carried him swiftly away from you in no time.
"Anywhere I please." He told you, barely looking down, but you could see his lips lifted in a smirk all the same.
"What do you mean?" You asked, looking around, wondering what destination he meant.
"Norns, woman, are you daft? I'm leaving. I'm free, finally. A better question for you would be: where are you going? Hmm? All that time on Midgard, now you're in space, darling. Where are you going to go?" He had broken stride to sneer down at you. You tried to hide your obvious shock at the sudden turn of emotion.
"To find the threat against our Galaxy. Why wouldn't you want to do the same?" You asked, malice lacing your tone. Here he was, wearing his true colors finally. The treacherous Loki, the one you'd been told about, the one you should've heeded the warnings about.
His nose crinkled in disgust, and you felt the vision coming before it hit. You'd seen this one a few times already, but nothing prepared you for it. You gasped for air as you felt Loki's throat being constricted, and winced when you felt the crunch of his neck.
His smug look told you he'd made that happen.
"I have a few reasons." He told you, his voice quiet and dangerous.
"We were chosen for a reason, Loki." You tried, grasping for any shred of logic that might convince him to stay. Treacherous or not, he had much more experience in space than you.
"Yes, we were. Isn't it obvious to you, yet? We were sent here to die." He held his arms out and gestured around at the field.
"What do you mean? It's just recon." You replied, noting his wingspan, the subtle way his lithe muscles pulled taut the fabric of his shirt.
"Oh yes, truly the omnipotent Dr. Strange would send a known liar and the newest avenger to stop a doom to the universe." He rolled his eyes and began walking away from you. You watched his hands trail lightly over the blades of grass, and knew he was right. You hated him for it, but he was. You had been pushing those feelings down since you had first found yourself in space looking at Loki. If this truly had the gravity Dr. Strange said it had, why wasn't he here? Or anyone of the other space faring avengers, or the guardians? Why were you sent here with Loki of all people?
You followed behind him, the grass reaching much higher on you, and contemplated your choices. You had the sling rings, so the options were endless. Yet, you kept coming back to the same one: do the job. Every fiber of your being told you Loki was right, but a small voice in the back of your mind told you he could be wrong. And it was enough.
You glanced up at your companion, his black hair curling at the edges of his collar, his back straight and proud, his shoulders broad and capable. He could handle himself in a fight, this much you knew. He'd be an asset. How would you convince him to stay? Trick him? Trick the God of Mischief? Surely you weren't dumb enough to try.
You threw your head back and looked at the sky. You knew you were. You knew you had to. You needed his help, but more than that, you actually wanted it. He was charming, after all.
"So, where exactly are you going, then?" You asked, breaking the steady silence. You watched his stride falter for a second as he turned to look at you.
"To the town." He told you, confidently.
"So, you do know where we are?"
"No."
"Then how would you know?" You challenged him.
"There'll be a town, eventually." He told you, clearly agitated at your questions.
"Sorry, just working out a few things." You told him, keeping your gaze averted. His eyes narrowed in suspicion.
You kept your face passive as the wave of wariness washed over you. You had thrown your plan together in about three seconds, but already it was going perfectly.
Step one: make Loki suspicious. It was easy to do. He had no real reason to trust you. Plus, he had to be expecting it anyway.
It led to the rest of your plan. He’d “uncover” your deceit, and you’d go along acting caught in a lie. Then, you’d gain his trust for real. Finally, you trick him into actually helping you do some reconnaissance for Strange.
Easy peasy.
Now, just to find this town.
I’ll be damned.” You muttered when you first saw it.  A light cascading in the sky, not the stars that littered it currently, but a new one. A man made, or alien made, one.
“Aha!” Loki called, looking at you expectantly.
“You did it!” You laughed, peering through the trees that stood between you and the source. Failing that, you reached out with your mind. No one was lingering about, so you focused on Loki. It was a mixture of joy and trepidation. It was all bitter endings.
He was planning a betrayal of his own, of course. What you couldn’t piece together is why he was feeling hesitant to do it. Clearly, he had worked out a way to get off-world.
“Perhaps we should make camp here.” He suggested, turning his steady gaze to you. You looked around, considering it. More open than the forest, but that could be helpful in a fight. Unlikely anyone would be able to sneak up on either of you. Especially if you took turns sleeping. But, didn’t you just feel his looming betrayal? Should you risk it so soon? You needed sleep. Would he leave you alone, asleep, in a field on an alien planet? Surely not. But could you trust it? Did you trust him?
“Okay, Mayhem. I’ll grab some firewood.” You told him, starting to head to the edge of the woods. He chuckled, and you heard the whoosh of a flame. You turned and your mouth fell open. He had conjured an entire campsite. The fire was contained within a stone structure, there was a clearing to sit, he’d even managed a few blankets.
"Surely this will suffice." He teased, a grin ghosting on his lips. You nodded, lamely, and grabbed a blanket.
"Can you be troubled with dinner?" You joked, and he raised an eyebrow at you.
"What do you want?" He asked, settling down onto the ground, long legs stretched before him.
"Oh I don't know, what's your favorite thing?" You mused, snuggling under the thick material. It was softer than cotton or wool, warm but not hot, heavy enough to provide weight without being unbearable. You closed your eyes, enjoying the feeling against your skin, and nearly dozed. He startled you when he began speaking.
"The perfect night-meal is a sampling of delicacies. But the most exquisite taste is fresh champagne from the springs on Alfheim. Poured lazily by the Pleasure Elves, of course." You laughed.
"Pleasure Elves and champagne springs, what the hell are we still doing here?" He chuckled and adjusted the blanket around his shoulders, before looking at you seriously.
"I will show you Alfheim, if you wish." You resisted shuddering under his intense gaze. You could barely meet his eyes, a deep, dark green that rivaled the evening forest.
"I'd like that, someday. For now, dinner. Can you do...pizza?" You asked, smiling broadly. He frowned, clearly disgusted.
"I could, but I would not. Is that truly what you crave? Greasy, unimaginative mortal food?" You shrugged. "Very well." With a flick of his wrist, he brought forth two wrapped sandwiches. Curious, you pulled the wrapper off and smiled happily.
"A cheeseburger! How is that better than pizza?" You asked, laughing and taking a bite. You watched him peel the wrapper with grace, only touching the burger with his fingertips.
"I'm not sure. Thor described them much better than they appear." He seemed vaguely disgusted.
"We could have had alien food." You told him, laughing at his discomfort. He rolled his eyes at you.
"Technically, darling, you're the alien here." His matter-of-fact tone wrecked your mood. The way he said "darling" was more like an insult. How could he conjure burgers and then ruin the moment so seamlessly.
You didn't respond, just silently tucked into your sandwich. You still needed to work out how you were going to break his trust anyway. It couldn't be too clever, you thought. Just clever enough that it seemed like it would work, but not clever enough that he would suspect another attempt.
You were so lost in thought that you didn't see the way he studied you, mapping your face, reveling in how the starlight splayed shadows on you. He had put you in green as a joke, but lounging fireside under the thick blanket, you looked at home in the deep shade of mid-summer forest green.
You finished the burger and tossed the wrapper remains into the fire. You turned to find Loki already looking at you, he lifted a corner of his mouth but remained silent.
"I'll take first watch." You told him, hiding a yawn behind your hand. He waved you off with a flick of his wrist.
"Sleep. I'll watch over you." He watched you as he spoke, and you felt his dark eyes on you as you snuggled your way into the blanket nest. The fatigue from the battle with Thanos, and the rush of adrenaline from finding Loki and talking with Dr. Strange, and the long walk through the field came crashing into you all at once. Your eyes closed of their own Accord, and your limbs followed soon after tingling with sleep.
"G'night, Mayhem." You mumbled, your mouth and brain mostly asleep. You were drifting off, even as you said it, but you heard his response.
"Good night, darling." You smiled as you fell further asleep, his tone softer than it had been.
As sleep began to take you under, quieter than before, you heard Loki mumble to himself.
"Damn. She's adorable." When you awoke, you wouldn't remember, as it were, you barely heard it at all. Proof, you thought dreamily. It was proof, that Loki wasn't all bad.
~~
You blinked hard against the morning light and groaned as you rolled over. You remembered where you were quickly, the hard ground your first clue. The event of the previous day hit you at once, and you sat up quickly, scanning for Loki. You started to panic, he had slipped off during the night, and now you were alone on an unfamiliar world.
“Shit.” You cursed, rising to your feet.
“What?” You whirled on the voice and sighed deeply when you saw the God of Mischief staring back at you.
“I...thought you left.” You admitted, stretching your back out. His smile faltered a bit.
“I did not. I found breakfast.” He told you, tossing you something that looked like an apple. You smiled sheepishly.
“You didn’t wake me.” You said, and he merely shrugged. “You haven’t slept.” You continued, unsatisfied with his nonchalance.
“I was dead yesterday, darling. I think I can manage without one night’s rest.” You winced at his nickname for you. It dripped with venom and mistrust.
“Don’t act offended, Mayhem. Betrayal is literally your middle name.”
“What do you know of betrayal? Hmm?”
“Plenty. You may have cornered the market, but you didn’t trademark it.”
“I would not simply slink away in the dead of night. I am Loki, prince of Asgard, the rightful king of Jotunheim, and the God of Mischief, and I do not lurk in the shadows. My betrayal would be right in front of you, rest assured.” You scoffed, as you watched him pontificate.
“What do your titles get you here?” You asked and smiled in triumph when his face fell. You turned the fruit over in your hand, and looked back at him. “I’m sorry I thought you left, thanks for the fruit.” You mumbled, guilt already eating away at you. Why did his crestfallen face split you in two so quickly? You bit into the apple, and winced right away. It definitely wasn’t an apple. The texture was similar to a kiwi, but the flavor was unlike anything you’d ever had.
“It’s a local fruit, not one I’m familiar with.” He explained, his voice tight. “It isn’t dangerous.” You furrowed your brow to object, but he held his hands up. “I had one already to test it.”
“Thank you, Mayhem.” You told him, genuinely thankful. He waved the campsite away, and the two of you began your trek through the dense forest. The dark green clothes helped camouflage you as you picked your way through the vegetation, and while you knew he had done it to get a rise out of you, you were thankful to be out of the clingy spandex uniform you normally wore.
You had been training with Nat when the first power surge flowed through your fingertips, and the blast produced was golden. Nat must have alerted Tony, because within the hour you had a brand new, golden suit. You looked like an asshole, flying around in a shimmery gold suit, but no one would change it. Friday had told you to “Fuck off,” and that was the end of it. You’d become the Golden Avenger in the news, but everyone called you stone. It was a horrible joke, born out of horrible circumstances. You looked like a walking gauntlet, and you were treated that way too.
You focused harder on the ground, stepping around massive root systems, and avoiding areas where the ground had sunk into itself. Loki was right. You hated that you were thinking about it now. No one had truly accepted you as an avenger, except Nat. It was hard for them, you understood. The thing that gave you power was the same event that had destroyed them. But, it isn’t like you wanted it. You hadn’t asked Thanos to do this, you didn’t have control over the events that led to your origin. Yet, the first chance they got, they sent you away. You were the outlier, you were the uncertainty, and you were safer kept at arm's distance. Why else send you on an obvious goose chase with a wanted intergalactic villain?
You glanced at your traveling companion, and found him deep in thought as well. His brow was creased, and his mouth was set. He looked handsome, bathed in the filtered sunlight and the flecks of gold illuminated his dark features. He flicked his eyes at you, and relaxed his mouth into a small smile.
“Shouldn’t be long now.” He told you quietly, and you found yourself wondering what he was thinking about. His double-cross to you? You needed to hammer your own plan together, but it could wait, you thought. You didn’t want to think too hard about it.
“Good, it’ll be nice to get a real seat,” You laughed and he smirked at you. “Is Alfheim your favorite place?” You asked, thinking about the pleasure elves, you could see the appeal. He cocked his head to the side, a ghost of a real smile playing on his lips.
“No, Asgard was my favorite place.” He murmured, and you wanted to disappear. Of course, his world was just destroyed, what a dumb question.
“Sorry Mayhem, I didn’t think…” Your apology died on your tongue, as he began chuckling.
“Don’t fret, darling. I’m not that fragile.” He teased. Your heart was firmly lodged in your throat, stuck from embarrassment, but remaining still as you realized he had softened your nickname. No longer did your skin crawl, instead, a warmth spread through your chest. His soft tone had rendered you speechless, dumbfounded, but you hoped he wouldn’t notice. What could you say? I was embarrassed at having brought up a potentially sensitive subject, and then you called me a flirty name and now my tongue is heavy. Why would it even matter? You were going to betray him, and then he would betray you. It was what your master plan was hinged on. Who cared if he was soft and pretty?
“Truly, it is not an issue.” He continued, confused, searching your face.
“Tell me about it?” You managed to squeak out, and you caught the look he gave you, the look of skepticism.
“It was a Golden City, built up in the mountains, and the rainbow bridge connected it to the bifrost. It was devastatingly beautiful. That was only the Palace, though. The forests around the city were as cruel as they were beautiful. It truly was a world fit for gods.” He looked wistful, and you pretended not to see the tears welling up. “Where is your favorite place?” He asked abruptly, and you smiled happily.
“You remember that place I took you yesterday, when I plucked you from the debris in space?” You asked, waiting for an answer. When he nodded, you continued. “It was my attempt at freedom. I had just broken up with a man who controlled me, and well, it was a little crappy, but it was mine, y’know? I had just gotten back in touch with my family who I had been cut off from, and it was so right. I was only there for a few months before Thanos’ attack.” You told him, fiddling with your sleeve, swallowing hard. “It was the first taste of happiness I had, and then it was taken from me just as suddenly as I had gotten it.” You wiped your eyes and cleared your throat.
“I know a great deal about that, darling.” He reassured you, and you were surprised to feel the pressure of his hand on your back. You gave him a tight small, and felt the smallest tendrils of affection reaching out to you. You widened your smile and turned to the forest before you.
“What’s your favorite power, then?” You asked, falling in step beside him. He laughed.
“Power?” He asked, and you rolled your eyes.
“Yes, your powers?” You wiggled your fingers, knowing he’d never done anything like that.
“It’s magic, darling.” He rolled his eyes at you, but you could tell it was playful.
“Whatever, your magic. What’s your favorite spell?” He chuckled at you.
“Duplication-casting, then.” You raised an eyebrow.
“What’s that? Conjuring?”
“They’re two completely different powers.” He explained with a long, suffering sigh.
“So, they are “powers” now?” You asked, laughing.
“Norns, you are so aggravating.” He huffed.
“Well, why duplication-casting? Why not the poison one?” You asked. He raised an eyebrow.
“What poison one?” He asked, looking confused.
“You can have poison without it hurting you.” You told him plainly.
“No, I cannot.” He was genuinely confused at this point, and you held your hands up.
“But you tested the fruit for me.” You told him, confused. He blinked slowly at you, and your face fell in realization. He had been protecting you. And immediately you treated him like a monster.
“Mayhem, I’m…” He fixed his lips into a small line. You were trying to form an apology, clearly you were the one deserving the monster treatment. You had actively plotted against him since you had landed, and he had done nothing but try to make you comfortable. He raised a finger to his lips, his face hard. You heard it then, the crunching of leaves and splintering of sticks underfoot. You were no longer alone with the God of Mischief.

don’t leave me waiting here
Anonymous asked: The reader is trying to comfort peter after he failed a mission. peter’s injuries and headache cause him to lash out at the reader. 🥺
Pairing: Peter Parker and reader
Warnings: angst but fluff at the end, mentions of injuries but no details of how it looks I promise
Disclaimer: I am not a doctor, but some of the ‘medical statements’ I wrote in here are just what I’ve learned from personal experience from growing up in hospital/doctors settings.
Word count: 3.9k (wow look who finally got inspired to actually write something longer than 2k)
A/N: I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted but my life has been pretty hectic recently, and as a result I lost motivation to write. Requests are open so please send something in! (Preferably for Peter Parker right now because I feel like I have a lot of motivation to write for him. If you’ve sent in a Tom request I’ll probably get around to it, but idk when so sorry in advance)
Tumblr media
Peter had trudged back home, but stopped in his tracks right as he made his way to his apartment door. He knew that if he went home looking tattered and as disheveled as he did, May would be concerned, and when she’s concerned it makes him concerned. He didn’t want to talk about how he had his ass beat by a few bad guys, and because of this, Tony put him on probation until “he can get his shit together and prove himself to be worthy.” His words, not mine.
Knowing full well that he didn’t want to talk about it, he turned on his heels to make his way to your residence. You lived only a few blocks away from him, and it seemed that he was at your place more than his own. Walking slowly, it took him longer than usual to reach your apartment complex, but the solemn walk was almost comforting.
Shoulders slumped, he rang the bell to your apartment and waited for you to buzz him into the door. He waited a few seconds before impatiently ringing the bell again and again until you finally answered after the sixth time.
“Damn, who is it? What in the world do you want?” You were clearly annoyed, and the person on the other end of the intercom remained silent.
Peter didn’t realise that it hurt him to speak, but it would make sense due to the fact that one of the bad guys punched him square in the throat. He opened his mouth but nothing but a squeak came out.
“If this is a sick joke, or a prank, I suggest you leave immediately before I call the cops.”
“It’s not,” he whispered up to the speaker, “a joke.” He took a sharp inhale in before saying, “‘S Peter.”
“Peter?” You asked, “Why are you whispering?”
He didn’t have the strength to reply, that alone hurt too much to say.
When he didn’t respond, you ran over to the living room window that overlooked the city street, one that also overlooked the front gate. You could recognise Peter anywhere, but his demeanour seemed, well, different. You skipped back over to the speaker and pushed the button for him to be able to enter the building. Usually he ran up the stairs and would be at your door in an instant, but today it took him about three minutes to trudge up the stairs while he practically dragged himself to your door.
You opened the door before he could knock, gasping at the sight of him. He had a black eye, a few cuts on his face, and his clothes looked as though they were put through a shredder; cuts and scrapes visible underneath the tattered clothes. He didn’t even tilt his head up to meet your gaze, all he did was take a step forward into your outstretched arms. You led him into your apartment and locked the door.
“Pete?” You whispered, “are you okay?”
He shook his head no and let out a small sob. “Do I look okay?” He quietly asked.
“No, come here angel.” You held onto him tighter and put your hand on the back of his neck and stroked the little curls on the nape of his neck. He sobbed again and held you tighter, not wanting to let go.
“Would you wanna talk about it?” You asked but he shook his head no again.
“It hurts to talk, was punched in throat. And head.” He whispered back and let go from your embrace. He walked over to your couch to lay down on it, already knowing what was going to come next. You went into the bathroom and grabbed some gauze, medical tape, hydrogen peroxide and some Neosporin. Supplies in hand, you walked back over to Peter who had his eyes closed with his head tilted slightly back.
“Is your throat okay?” You set the supplies down on the coffee table and shook your head. “What kind of question is that, of course it’s not okay. I should take you to the hospital asap.”
“Don’t.” He croaked out, “Don’t you dare.”
“Fine.” You didn’t want to start an argument, but if you saw anything more unusual than the usual bruises and cuts, then a trip to the ER would be necessary. First, you assessed to see if his pupils dilated under a flashlight, which would indicate a sign of a concussion, but surprisingly it seemed he didn’t have one.
“My head hurts.” He added, his voice sounding more normal than before.
“Where, specifically?”
With a wince and a groan, he lifted his arm to point to where there was a large bump on his forehead. When it comes to head injuries, like a bump on the head, it’s better to see the damage externally, which usually signified that the head was alright internally.
“Let me get you some ice.” You got up and swiftly walked over to the freezer and pulled out a bag of frozen peas. A few seconds later you were back by Peter’s side, holding the bag of ice to his head.
About twenty minutes and a lot of gauze later, Peter was finally patched up like new. His voice came back and although he said it still hurt, at least he was able to talk again.
“Now would you want to tell me what happened? Also from the looks of it, it doesn’t seem like you were wearing your suit, why not?”
“I said I don’t want to talk about it, Y/N. Now drop it.”
“Peter, if you didn’t want me to know about it then you would’ve just gone back home and-”
“I only came because I knew you would be the only one who would fix me up, okay? I didn’t come to be interrogated, and I sure as hell didn’t come here to feel ridiculed, do you understand?” He seethed, eyes glaring at you.
“Well maybe if you would at least tell me what happened I-”
“I don’t want to talk! I don’t care what happened, and now I’m regretting showing up here.” Peter attempted to sit up but groaned and fell back onto the couch in his original position. “I wish I hadn’t come round.”
You let his words hang in the air for a minute until you decided to speak. “I didn’t know you only saw me as a medic, and not your friend. At least I now know how you really see me.” You exhaled audibly and stood up. “And when you’re able, please leave and never come back.” You left Peter alone and walked into your bedroom door, slamming it shut.
He covered his eyes with his hands, wincing at the pain and letting out a sigh. He didn’t see you only as his medic, or even just his best friend. No, he saw you more than that. He was in love with you, which was why he always would come around to be fixed when he needed it. He loved how you treated him with care and made him feel safe when all he felt was scared and afraid. You always took away the pain, and he loved how close you would be to him, how your touch always felt so nice and loving.
When you said that you wanted him to leave and never come back, he knew that you had finally washed your hands of the situation. You were never one to walk away from people, but once you finally had enough, there was almost no convincing you otherwise. He was hit with the revelation that maybe, just maybe, you’ll really never wanna see him again. A thought so depressing that all he could do was cry.
He felt the tears stream down his cheeks and felt them roll off his face and onto the pillow that his head was resting on. He gasped for air but winced when it felt like he couldn’t breathe, probably due to him being kicked in the side. More tears rolled down his cheeks until he felt like he may just drown in them. He eventually cried himself to sleep, hoping that sleeping would somehow make the situation better.
Peter awoke a few hours later, a conclusion he came to because when he fell asleep, it was dusk, and now the curtains were drawn in the living room and a lamp in the far corner illuminated the room. He carefully sat up and noticed that his head seemed to feel a bit better, even though he didn’t remember you giving him any medicine for it. He stood up and steadied himself against the edge of the couch while slowly walked towards the bathroom. Your room was a door down from the bathroom, and he saw that it was still closed. He couldn’t hear any little sounds coming from your room indicating you were inside, and he wondered if you decided to go as far as leave him by himself in your apartment. Your parents were away for the weekend anyway, so it wouldn’t really matter if you were gone too for the night until he went home.
After freshening up in the bathroom, he decided to knock on your door and see if you were even home. There was no reply from the other side of the door, but Peter decided to see if the door was unlocked. Surprisingly it was, to which he quietly opened the door and stepped into your room. You were laying in your bed with your laptop on your lap, earbuds placed in your ears. When your gaze met his, you averted your gaze back to your laptop.
“Y/N, can we please talk?” He asked, voice hushed as if to not anger you further. He awaited your response, but you ignored his question. “Please?”
“Oh, so now you want to talk.” You remarked and slammed your laptop shut. “That’s funny, when I wanted to talk to you, you shut me down and ridiculed me and made me feel inferior, but now that you want to talk, I’m just supposed to be okay with that.” You huffed out an angry laugh.
“I-”
“Listen to what I’m going to say, hmm? I don’t care about what happened to you earlier today, and I won’t care about what happens after this. I just need you to leave me alone and I meant it when I said it.” You got up and took a step closer to Peter. “Now you know what it feels like when you want to speak to someone but they just keep shutting you down.”
Peter stood there speechless for this was a side of you that he had never seen before. One that was cold, vindictive.
“Aren’t you going to leave?” You questioned, but Peter felt like he was frozen. “Well, aren’t you?” Your voice quivered, and a tear escaped your eye. He physically couldn’t move, and when he tried to open his mouth, no words came out. He was in shock, all he could do was stand there while watching the situation unfold.
Defeated, you took a step back and crawled back into your bed. Opening your laptop, you placed your earbuds back in, ignoring Peter as if he didn’t exist.
Peter took a step back until he was standing in the hallway. He wiped away a tear that he didn’t know had escaped his eye, and walked out of your apartment.
A week had passed since the incident with Peter, and he was nowhere to be found. Rumours circulated that he moved schools, or that he dropped out of school entirely. The curiosity coursed through your veins, and you had to know if he was okay. You shuddered at the words that replayed in your head, when you told Peter that you no longer cared about him. It was definitely untrue, and the worry was consuming you whole.
At lunch, you saw MJ and Ned sitting together. They both looked exhausted and the looks on their faces proved that the worry was eating them alive too. Peter never missed school--he’s had perfect attendance since kindergarten, so for him to miss a whole week was a big deal.
Hesitantly, you placed your hands in your, well, Peter’s sweatshirt pocket and walked over to where MJ and Ned were sitting. They shot you a disapproving gaze, which made you wonder if Peter told them what happened between you two.
“Hey,” You said while looking at them both. MJ downright ignored you, but at least Ned acknowledged your presence.
“Hey.” He replied curtly.
MJ looked past you, and so to not waste anyone’s time, you decided to get to the point.
“So, um, is Peter alright? I noticed that he wasn’t in school and-”
“So you care now?” MJ asked, voice laced with a bit of hostility and sadness.
“I’ve always cared, I-”
“Well that’s not what Peter said.” Ned chimed in. “We went round his place yesterday, and I don’t know what you said to him but he’s beyond devastated. He knows he screwed up with you, and he’s sorry about that.”
“There’s probably a lot you don’t know, and-”
“That’s for sure.” MJ stated.
“God, will one of you at least let me finish a sentence? I swear, you and Peter both won’t let me get a word in.”
“Fine.” Ned replied.
“Good. I was going to say that there’s a lot to this situation, and without going into too many details, he said he only sees me as a medic and not even a friend.”
“Oh.” They said in unison.
“Yeah. So I think I had every reason to get mad at him when he didn’t tell me what was going on.”
“I think so.” Ned responded, and MJ looked at you sympathetically.
“You know, there’s also a lot you don’t know either Y/N.” MJ hinted and when she saw the confused look on your face, she continued. “Peter hasn’t always been honest with you, which is why he’s beating himself up now and staying home from school. He can’t stand to see you hate him, which is why he isn’t here.” She stood up from her seat and Ned followed suit. “Now if you'll excuse us, we have an acadeca practice to go to.”
And with that, they left you standing in the middle of the cafeteria absolutely dumbfounded.
Another painstakingly slow week had passed and you were studying in your room, preparing for midterms. You could hardly focus in school anymore, and as a result your grades had been slipping. Luckily your parents were gone again at another business conference, and they wouldn’t be home for a few weeks, which gave you plenty of time to sort your grades out before they came home.
You were so concentrated on studying US history that you nearly failed to hear the ring from the intercom. It took about six rings until it had registered that someone was at the front door, so you scrambled to answer it.
“I’m sorry, I was busy and I didn’t hear the bell ring. May I ask who’s there?” You asked in your ‘receptionist’ voice, hoping that whoever rang was still there. You were met with silence so you looked out the living room window to see if the person was still down there.
You looked down and saw a man standing there, head tilted down looking at the pavement, holding a bouquet of flowers in his left hand. You didn’t recognize who he was but you didn’t get the feeling that he was dangerous, so you opened the window and called out to him.
“Did you need something sir?” You inquired and nearly fell out the window when you saw that it was Peter looking up at you. He looked so different than what you were used to; his hair was long and he wore baggy sweats and a black hoodie.
“Y/N, please just give me a minute to explain and I promise I’ll leave you alone after this.” He hollered to you, to which you closed your window and locked it.
Peter sighed and was about to head home when he heard that the front gate was unlocked. He ran to open the door and sprinted up the stairs to your apartment.
He was about to knock on the door when you opened it before he could knock. “You have precisely one minute.” You held open the door for him to come inside.
Peter cleared his throat and said, “these are for you. I remembered that you once mentioned that the prettiest flowers you had ever seen in New York were from a corner florist in Manhattan, so I went there and got you these myself.” He held them out to you, which you graciously took from him. They really were the most beautiful flowers you had ever seen, and the nice gesture made what little anger you had left towards him dissipate completely.
“Can I sit down?” He motioned to the couch, to which you nodded your head yes. You sat in the armchair across from the couch and Peter took a second to compose himself. He had a whole speech planned out on what he would say, but once he saw you he forgot everything.
“Y/N, I’m sorry. I know it won’t cut it now and I had a whole speech memorised but now I’m flustered and I can’t remember it. I didn’t mean anything that I said that day. You mean so much to me and I was just in a bad mood because I found out that Mr. Stark was fighting some bad guys and I was in the area so I went to help him. I didn’t have my suit but I figured I’d be okay, but I had my ass beat by them and Mr. Stark saved me from them, but he was also injured in the process. He’s fine, by the way, but it would’ve been better if I didn’t intervene. The bad guys got away and he was so mad at me that he put me on probation until I can get my act together.”
He caught his breath and looked at you to make sure you were still listening. You signaled for him to continue so he did. “He told me I was reckless and that I should’ve minded my own business. So I came to you all broken and injured, not because I see you as a medic, but because you make me feel better. I love that you can fix me up and make me feel safe and loved, and I’m sorry I said I only see you as someone who can repair me, because that’s not true.”
“Is that all?” You asked, but Peter shook his head no.
“There’s more. Ned and MJ told me that you spoke to them at lunch one day, and they said you were concerned. I’m sorry I didn’t tell you that I was okay, I just figured that what you said was true, that you really don’t care about me anymore. That day when we fought and you told me you never wanted to see me again, it broke my heart because I’ve never seen you that cold and calculating before. So I know that I messed up royally, which is why I avoided you and ultimately ditched school for a week. I didn’t want to see you that way and so I did what I thought was best, which was to leave you alone. But they said I should come talk to you since you didn’t seem mad anymore, so here I am. I wish I could go back in time to that day and tell you that you mean so much to me, and I’m sorry I made you feel inferior. You don’t have to forgive me, but I just thought you should know all of that.”
He stood up from the couch, pausing before saying, “I promised that if you listened to me, I would leave you alone. So thank you for your time, and I’ll get going now.” He tried to walk past you but you put your hand on his chest to stop him.
“I need to say something too Peter. I shouldn’t have tried to force you to tell me what happened. It wasn’t right of me to pry and I’m also sorry that I said I didn’t care about you, because that’s so far from the truth. I care about you so much and it’s always so hard to see you hurt. This time the wounds seemed worse than usual, which would make sense because you didn’t have your suit to protect you. I was just really worried about you, that’s all.” You admitted.
“You don’t have to be sorry, it really was all my fault. I shouldn’t have snapped at you because I know you care about me, but I promise that if anything happens next time I’ll tell you and be honest and upfront.”
“Well, I hope you won’t get injured again.” You placed your hand on his chest and he put his hand on top of yours.
“Sadly I will, it’s a part of the job. But I promise I’ll try to be safer.”
“Good, because I don’t want to lose you.” You pulled your hand away but Peter held onto it.
“I don’t want to lose you either.” Peter now let go of your hand, as he took a step towards your door.
“Wait Peter, can I ask you something?
“Of course.”
“MJ said that you haven’t always been completely honest with me, what did she mean by that?”
Peter’s face turned red, his cheeks burning up.“Oh, well, I guess now’s a good time to say it, I suppose. I don’t see you only as a f-friend.” He stammered.
“How do you see me then, Peter?” You asked, and his face became redder.
“More than a friend, Y/N. I’m in love with you, which is why I always come around because you make me feel safe and loved.”
“You’re in love with me?”
“I always have been, and I’m sorry I didn’t say anything soon-.”
You cut him off by crashing your lips on his, and at first he was stunned, but he eventually kissed you back and deepened it. His lips glided against yours and he wrapped his arms around your waist to pull you closer to him. You wrapped your arms around his neck, reaching for and running your fingers through the curls on the back of his head. A minute later, you pulled away, but not before Peter lightly placed another kiss on your lips. “I love you, and I’m sorry I didn’t tell you sooner.”
“‘S okay, Pete. I love you too.”  You kissed his cheek and rested your forehead against his.
“Do you forgive me for lashing out?” He inquired, and in confirmation you kissed his lips lightly.
“Yes, I know you didn’t really mean it.”
“I didn’t.” He grabbed your hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. “I missed you.”
You gently squeezed his hand and held it up to your lips, giving his hand a light kiss. “I missed you too Peter.” You tried your pull away but he pulled you closer to him. “Hey, while you’re here, would you wanna watch a movie or something?”
He didn’t answer your question but instead picked you up and began walking towards your bedroom. He wrapped his arm around your waist and peppered kisses on your cheek, causing you to giggle. “I can think of something else I’d rather do.” He grinned before kissing your lips and closing your bedroom door.
Additional note: can you tell I love using Beatles lyrics as titles? They’re just so good. If you have any requests for Peter please send them my way. Anyway please let me know if you’d like to be added to the taglist :)

you see his baby photos
photographs for this post are here
⇒ jaebeom
“Jaebeom will kill me if he knows we’re doing this.”
“Doing what?”
You and Jaebeom’s mom whipped around from the couch to see him standing in the doorway.
“Uh, nothing!” You panicked. “Just trying to decide what we should eat for dinner.”
Not believing you, Jaebeom walked to the couch to see his childhood photographs sprawled out over the coffee table and couch.
“Eomma!” He groaned.
“Don’t be mad at your mom!” you said, “I begged her to let me see them.”
Grumbling, he sat next to you on the couch as he looked through the photos on the page in your lap.
“Whatever, you were going to find them eventually.” He shrugged.
Taking that as his blessing to continue, Jaebeom’s mom showed you a photo of him as a chubby baby, sitting happily on a swing.
You were unable to contain your delight as your mouth formed into an o, “Jae you were the cutest baby ever! I just want to gobble you up.”
“Yeah, he was.” His mom remarked fondly.
“Was?” Jaebeom asked slightly irritated.
“Not so much anymore with those awful piercings.” His mother disapproved, pushing her glasses up the bridge of her nose.
Shocked, Jaebeom placed a hand over his heart. “So mean. I took it out for you.”
“And you look so handsome now without it.” His mother remarked, not looking up from the photo she was looking at. “Don’t you think Y/N?”
Blushing, you placed your hand on his cheek, “I think he looks handsome all the time.”
⇒ mark
You held the photograph of Mark and compared it to his face. You bit your lip, not wanting to say what you thought.
“What? You look like you want to say something.” Mark said, noticing your reaction.
Exhaling, you answered. “Yes, but don’t get mad.”
“I won’t now tell me.” Mark insisted.
He sat on his knees by the box of his memorabilia, interested in hearing what you had to say.
“Did you ever watch this cartoon, Crayon Shin-Chan?”
“Maybe? I think I used to watch it on Saturday mornings.”
“You look exactly like the main character, Shin-Chan, in this picture,” you said holding up the photo of mark as a baby.
Mark looked at you blankly.
“Okay let me show you.” You said.
You googled a picture of the character and held up your phone and the photograph side by side.
Inspecting the two, Mark rolled his eyes. “I don’t see it.”
“You look identical!” You exclaimed.
Shaking his head, he kept sorting photographs, “nope. I don’t look anything like him.”
“How do you not see it!” You said. “If you were a cartoon you would literally be Shin-Chan.”
“Babe, that would be like if I told you that you look like Spongebob.”
“Hey! That’s not even a remotely fair comparison.”
“Exactly. Which is why I’m saying I don’t look like him.”
“Fine, agree to disagree.” You said, “even though I’m clearly right.”
Mark looked at you, but couldn’t help but laugh at your comment as you both kept sorting through photos.
⇒ jackson
Jackson was no help when it came to these kind of things.
His mom had texted you, I sent you some of Jackson’s baby photos. Let me know which ones you think are cute and I’ll get them framed.
Simple enough right? Not quite.
The afternoon had stretched into the evening as you and Jackson reminisced and discovered the pictures.
“You were so energetic.” You commented, holding the photograph of baby Jackson between your fingers. He stood smiling in a victory pose “I wonder...”
“What?” He asked, curious at your thought.
“Do you think we would’ve been friends as kids?”
“Ha! Absolutely not.” Jackson replied instantly.
“What? Why?” You frowned.
“Princess let me tell you something. Back then? You were so out of my league.” Jackson explained. “I would’ve never had a chance of being friends, much less your boyfriend.”
“That’s not true.” You protested. “I was pretty shy, you would’ve thought that I couldn’t speak.”
Shaking his head Jackson took the photograph from you and set it down on the table.
“Well then why don’t you tell me what you think.” You said, interested in hearing his theory.
“Gladly. We would’ve been classmates, I would’ve definitely had a crush on you, but being the immature person I was, I would’ve teased you incessantly. You would get so annoyed with me, but would eventually come to realize it was my stupid ways. I would eventually get the courage to ask you out, but you would let me down easy.” Jackson mapped out.
“You make me sound so unattainable.” You pouted. “I’ll tell you what I think. We would’ve been friends, you were class clown so everyone would’ve been friends with you. I would’ve had a huge crush on you, but I never would’ve said anything because I was so shy. Eventually, we’d graduate never being more than friends.”
Soaking up your story in silence, Jackson finally remarked. “I’m so glad we didn’t know each other as kids.”
⇒ jinyoung
“Oh my god.” You covered your mouth to muffle your laughter. “Jinyoung what is this?!”
You pointed and flipped through his baby photo album that contained not one, but three pages of Jinyoung sulking at various places.
“I knew this was a bad idea,” Jinyoung grumbled sitting back on the couch.
On this uneventful afternoon, you’d decided to do some cleaning in your apartment, only to discover a box of photo albums Jinyoung’s parents had sent over to your apartment many months ago. Unfortunately for Jinyoung that meant more reminiscing over his baby photos and less cleaning.
“You were such a sulky baby!” You exclaimed. “Oh gosh, this one is the best.”
His ears perked up as he leaned forward to look at the photo you were pointing at.
In the photograph Jinyoung stood pouting, his large ears pointing outwards as he stood straight. He seemed to be dressed in a turquoise crocheted tank top.
“I was probably annoyed with something very reasonable!” Jinyoung attempted to defend.
Looking at him with an eyebrow raised, he held his hands up in defeat. “Fine. I was upset because my mom wouldn’t stop taking pictures of me. But don’t you think you have any photos throwing fit?”
“I definitely do, but not to the varying extent that you do,” you replied.
Narrowing his eyes at you, he spoke “alright, I think I’ve seen enough of my embarrassing pictures for the day.”
“Hey, at least you grew into your ears,” you giggled, poking his side.
He turned to give you the same sulking look as the photograph. “You’re lucky I love you.”
Turning to look at him, you continued flipping through the book, “I love you too,”
You leaned to kiss both of his ears “especially your ears” you then leaned in to peck his lips, resting your forehead against his “and your face when you’re sulking.”
⇒ youngjae
You sifted through the photographs of Youngjae past on your coffee table.
JYP had asked Youngjae to send in a baby photo of himself as a special photo card option for their next comeback.
Stressed and overwhelmed by the pressures of idol life, Youngjae had delayed this task by weeks.
As you cooked dinner, you glanced at Youngjae’s phone to see a message.
You need to send in your baby photo ASAP.
You finished cooking and headed to your albums. There were too many choices. Flipping through the albums you narrowed your choices down to three photos. Laying them out on the coffee table, you folded your hands on your lap contemplating.
Lost in thought, you didn’t even realize Youngjae had awoken from his nap until he wrapped his arms around you.
“Hey,” Youngjae said, his voice still groggy. “What are you doing?”
“You’ve been putting off sending your baby photo so I thought I’d help you out.” You informed him.
“Thank you darling.” He kissed your cheek before sitting down next you.
“Any thoughts on which one to send?” You turned to him. “I narrowed it down to three. I know which one I think you should send in, but it should be your choice.”
Scanning the photos in front of him, Youngjae finally spoke, “let’s point to our choice at the same time.”
“1”
“2”
“3” you said at that same time.
Looking to where your fingers pointed you smiled.
“I guess it’s settled then.” Youngjae laughed.
The photo you’d both picked had been one of Youngjae and his father. He was holding his son as Youngjae drank from a bottle.
“I love this photo, you look just like your dad.” You told him. “The resemblance is uncanny.”
⇒ bambam
“You look so innocent.” You showed Bambam the photograph. “What happened to you?”
Bambam looked up from his phone to see his baby photo on your phone.
“Hey! How did you get that?” He said.
“Your sister sent it to me.” You replied nonchalantly. “She sent some real gems.”
“Since when are you and Baby texting about me?” Bambam asked, curious.
“Maybe a month?” You said, thinking back to the first time she texted.
“A month!” Bambam exclaimed. “Oh god.”
“Oh god is right. I can see why you’re a performer now, you’re a natural.” You told him.
Leaning his back on the couch, he sat up thinking about your earlier comment.
“What did you mean I was so innocent.” He pouted folding his shoulder. “I’m still squeaky clean.”
“Oh please, the Bambam I know now is literally the guy who texted me last week after work that he wanted me on the bed and ready for his big–“
“Okay! I get it.” Bambam interrupted.
“See? Not so innocent.” You said. You held up his baby photo “This baby on the other hand, total angel.”
⇒ yugyeom
“Y/N don’t look at that.” Yugyeom said.
Ignoring his warning you continued flipping through his childhood album. You looked up to see your man child of a boyfriend towering over you and pouting.
“These are so embarrassing, please don’t.” He pleaded with you.
“You were so cute!” You countered. “Please let me see them. I think you were adorable.”
Giving in, he sat next to you on the couch. “Fine. But I’m going to go through them too.”
You both sat on the couch, placing the album between you.
“Are you wearing roller skates in this?” You pointed to baby Yugyeom’s feet. “I wanna hear the story behind this.”
“Oh man, that was before I cut my head.” Yugyeom reminisced.
“What?!” You said, shocked that he had been in so much danger.
“Yeah. My dad had taken me and my brother out to rollerskate. I was so stubborn as a kid, I refused to wear a helmet.” Yugyeom recounted to you. “Things were fine until I tripped on my skate and ended up hitting my head on a rock. There was blood everywhere”
“That must’ve been scary.” You said, leaning on his shoulder.
“I think my dad was more freaked out that me. Luckily I only needed two stitches.” He rested his head against yours. “I still have the scar.”
You leaned back as Yugyeom pulled his hair out of his face. Lifting it up, he revealed a scar going into his forehead.
Reaching out, you gingerly touched it. Pressing a kiss to your index and middle finger you placed it on the scar.
“How come I never noticed this scar before?” You wondered aloud. “It makes you look sexy.”
Scoffing, Yugyeom released the hair he was holding. “I was such an idiot. Hopefully our kids don’t turn out as dumb as me.”
Your eyes widened slightly at his words. Hopefully our kids don’t turn out as dumb as me. He was thinking about that?
Taking in your reaction, he lightly coughed, “I mean you know, in the future. The very far future.”
You smiled, kissing his cheek. “I hope they can dance like you. It would be a shame if they got my two left feet!”

Gimme Shelter: Sirius Black x Female!Reader One Shot
Word Count: 1.5K
Warnings: fluff, at the end I added a nonsense part that you’ll be like?? what??
A/N: Hi honey! Thanks for your kind words! I didn't like too much how the Mac &Cheese turned out, but I'm really happy you liked it! So Sirius gets disowned in 1975, I believe summer as he was in his house. He was sixteen apparently and he would be starting his fifth year. For the sake of making sense reader knows Sirius since the first years at Hogwarts but started dating him recently, half in their fourth year. I hope that’s okay! Also Reader is not a pure blood witch, for the sake of some minor plot points.
A/N 2: Not about this story, but I might be a little inactive for a week or two, I got midterms and I have to start studying 😒 Feel free to leave requests, I’ll receive them but take a little more time to do them! All request that I received until now are wonderful! So if you sent me a request, it was well received! Don’t worry that I’ll reply them as soon as I can 💕💕
Tumblr media
To claim (Y/N) was pissed (and really, really worried) was an understatement. She had sent Sirius letters all summer. The first few weeks he had replied almost immediately, but around August the witch sent letters and they remained unanswered. A few days before the term started, however, she received a small piece of parchment from the Black’s family owl, a neat and gorgeous handwriting detailed “Kindly stop sending your letters to this house”; it wasn’t signed, and the handwriting didn’t look like Sirius’. So (Y/N) started thinking, and thinking and thinking.
What if his mother found out she wasn’t a pure blood? Oh Godric! Maybe she had read the letters!? (Y/N) was mortified and embarrassed. What if Sirius was punished because of her? Maybe his mother was so pissed she arranged a marriage for Sirius? Did Sirius break up with her? Did she miss a letter?
Distressed, (Y/N) sent letters to anyone who knew Sirius. It was pointless really, as they where returning to Hogwarts in just 3 days and she would see everybody there, but maybe someone knew something.
She got a small letter from Remus, who told her he haven’t heard from Sirius. Similar responses from Peter and Lily arrived later. She received no response from James, but usually James took for ever to reply so she wasn’t expecting no response from the start.
(Y/N) took a lot of time and effort on making her hair beautiful the morning when she was starting the term. She looked all around the platform, but didn’t find Sirius or The Marauders, maybe because she arrived way too early. Eventually (Y/N) got distracted when her friends arrived, and got dragged to a compartment.
Her friends were so exited and had done so many thing over the summer that she was really distracted. She didn’t notice when the rain started to move, it wasn’t until she saw Remus Lupin and Lily Evans walking down the aisle she remembered.
“Hey! What are you guys doing?” she asked, walking out of her compartment.
“Hey (Y/N). We are on prefect duties.” Remus greeted, pointing at their badges. The witch gasped and smiled, hugging both of them quickly.
“Congratulations guys!” both Remus and Lily thanked her, but dismissed her quickly, having to go back to their duties. (Y/N) got back to her friends, as they where calling her, needing her opinion on who was the most good looking wizard outside of Hogwarts, they had pictures from Witch Weekly Magazine to help them decide.
(Y/N) had to go to the loo, so she got out of the compartment, all flushed and happy, wiping small tears of laugher from her eyes, still chuckling at something dumb the girls had said. All of a sudden, she collided with someone. “Sorry! I wasn’t looking where I was going” she said giddy and full of happiness, endorphins flowing all over her body. She met her boyfriend’s grey eyes, he looked awful. “Well, hello stranger.” she greeted, her happy high plummeting to the ground at his miserable face, clearly he felt awful, but why?
Before (Y/N) could open her mouth to talk again, Sirius embraced her so tightly he knocked her air out of her lungs. She returned the hug immediately, but was really worried now. He usually greeted her with a cheeky remark, a flirty comment and the kissed her forehead, but he didn’t even speak a word.
“Sirius, are you okay?” she asked, still in his arms.
“I missed you so much.” He whispered, his breath shaky. The witch started to believe he might be crying. They needed privacy ASAP, so she pulled him inside with her to the girls changing room and locked the room.
“What happened?” she asked cupping his face, his crestfallen eyes making her worry. “You are making me worry love.”
“I ran away.”
“Oh Godric.” she gasped. “When? Where did you go? How did you manage? You should have come home, you know I would let you stay.” Sirius smiled, grabbing her hands and squeezing them.
“I went to James’ house. I was well received. The Potters are very kind.” (Y/N) wanted to smile, but wasn’t able to.
“Did she... did she do something to you?” she asked, afraid that Walburga Black’s rage got the best of him. “I won’t hesitate to kick her arse.”
“As much as I would love you to defend my honor, she didn’t do anything. I just had enough.”
“You should have told me. I was worried sick, and then I got a piece of parchment from your house that told me to stop sending letter and I thought that maybe you were going to marry some stuck up pure-blood bitch and that you were going to break up with me-”
“Wow, wow.” Sirius stopped her, cupping her cheeks. “Love, stop. I didn’t want to tell you because I didn’t want you to worry.”
“Well, I worried all the same!” she exclaimed, crossing her arms and flushing, realizing it might have been a little childish to think all of that. Sirius smirked and leaned down to kiss her gently.
“I’m sorry.” he whispered and kissed her again. They got caught in the moment until someone knocked on the door.
“I need you both to come out know before I’m obliged to take Gryffindor house points.” Remus’ voice sounded through the door. (Y/N) giggled as Sirius started to kiss her all over. “Padfoot!” he exclaimed.
Sirius sighed and opened the door, a happy and flushed (Y/N) waved at Remus, smiling apologetically. “Sorry.” she apologized, as Remus shook his head. Sirius took her back to her friends and kissed her forehead. “Let’s talk later, yeah?” she asked, Sirius nodding his head as he returned to his friends.
***
(Y/N) successfully sneaked past curfew to the Astronomy Tower, waiting for Sirius. She wanted to ask him all about his summer, why did he ran away and what did he do at the Potters.
He arrived and got himself comfortable, laying in (Y/N)’s lap. “Hello to you too.” she told him, raking a hand though his hair. “Now, tell me anything.”
“I ran away. And got disowned.” he explained calmly. He sighed and explained how it happened. “The worst thing is that Regulus is still on that house.”
“D’you reckon he’ll be alright?”
“I think so, yeah. I was never part of that family to begin with, not since I got sorted out in Gryffindor. Regulus was the perfect son to my mother, so I did not exist anymore. As long as Reg behaves the way he had been until now, he’ll be alright.”
(Y/N) felt pity for him, he deserved a family that loved him, he was a good boy, he was noble and kind, contrary to what he usually showed to anyone who wasn’t a friend.
“When we finish school...” she started, but stopped herself. If she told him he might freak out.
“What?” Sirius asked, curious.
“Nothing.” she replied, looking anywhere but his face. He sat up and nudged her, pulling her arm like a little boy.
“C’mon, tell me.”
“You’ll laugh, or freak out.”
“I won’t.” he smirked, squeezing her hand.
“When we finish school, and if you want, of course... we can...” she took a deep breath. “We can make our own family, we can marry and have our own children.” Sirius was silent, so (Y/N) started to talk really fast. “I know we are young and we have been a couple for a few months, but I really like you and I want you to have the family that you deserve.”
“Promise?” he asked, his voice weak and fragile. “Do you promise?”
“I promise. As long as you don’t get tired of me.” He hugged her and kissed her deeply.
“I could never get tired of you.” he admitted, kissing her over and over again. “So, how many kids do you want?”
“I- I haven’t though about it.” she told him, her cheeks flushed. “A cute boy, with your hair.”
“And my personality?” he asked, eyebrows raised.
“Gosh no, with mine.” (Y/N) told him, making him bark with laugher. They fooled around with some more, sharing kisses and praises, commenting about the future.
“How many times do I have to warn you two? Five points from Gryffindor.” Remus stern voice sounded from behind them, making (Y/N) yelp. Sirius laughed and helped (Y/N) up.
“I’ll escort the young lady to her chambers.” he declared, bowing comically at Remus. Moony rolled his eyes.
“If I find you two again fooling around I’ll give you detention.” he said, crossing his arms.
“Noo, Remus!! Don’t pull that card on us! We’ll behave!” (Y/N) told him with a smile, jumping and riding his back. Remus gasped (but grabbed her legs, letting her piggy ride his back) and Sirius laughed, walking by their side.
“Keep your voice down, we’ll get detention if anyone catches us.” despite his tone, Remus was smiling. (Y/N) climbed down his back and jumped to Sirius’ back instead.
“Run, Sirius, run!” she squealed, giggling when Sirius started running down the hall.

SHADOW WAR EPILOGUE
There was a loud buzzing and ringing in his ears. Someone was talking but he couldn't hear, he felt like he was underwater. That's when he felt the pain kick in. It felt like someone had dragged him by his shoulders through all of Duckburg and back to the bin before throwing him and leaving him. Gyro groaned before turning his head to the side and feeling a mix of water and spit fall out of his mouth. He was pretty sure he tasted something like iron but he wasn't going to think of that. He coughed up more water still unable to move. Eventually he was able to breathe on his own as he layed there still not opening his eyes. He could tell it wasn't light out so he simply layed there unmoving. Gyro secretly hoped that he'd fall back into unconsciousness soon so he could fast forward the pain. His wish came true as he embraced the sweet numbness.
--5 Minutes Prior with Fenton----
They had done it! They had defeated Magica and he got his suit back. Everyone was swimming in the money ((or at least trying to)) except for Scrooge who was staring out. Fenton walked over, wondering if Scrooge too had seen a weird shadow ball covered in purple magic fall out of the sky during the battle. Fenton had just showed up when it happened, he assumed it was debris, but one could never tell.
"Penny for your thoughts?" He offered to Scrooge
Scrooge stared ahead, his eyes scanning the water. "Where'd he go?" He muttered
"Um, who exactly?" He asked. Was someone lost or hurt? Did someone get carried off by the shadows? Did magica still have power? Was there another threa-
"Gyro."
Fentons heart stopped as a sinking feeling quickly replaced the victorious buzz he had been feeling. "W-what?"
"He was flung into the ocean during battle. I didn't get the chance to see him resurface." Scrooge stated looking at the water.
Fenton felt his heart quicken. "Was he uh, was he surrounded by shadows and purple light?" He asked nervously
"Yes. Magica wanted to sacrafice him but that old coon couldn't tell if I was lying by saying he was a work aquaintence" Scrooge chuckled a little.
"..oh.." Fenton murmured
"I'm sure he's fine. Gyro's a lot tougher than he looks, and for what we give him credit for" he added before turning back to his family.
"Thanks for the help lad." Scrooge said walking away leaving Fenton alone with his worries.
Gyro had been the one in that blast. Fenton just assumed no one could survive it so it must've been debris. His heart rate sped up even more as he nervously walked to the edge of the bin staring at the water. Fenton shook his head, deciding to go down to the beach/shore instead. He'd probably get a better view from there.
---
Fenton walked along the shore looking at the water out ahead of him hoping to see a sign of anything. A rubber life jacket floated past that looked like it could fit one of the kids but nothing else was out there. Fenton kept walking as the light faded. Maybe Gyro had made it to the opposite shore? Maybe Gyro went back into the bin and was down in the lab? Maybe Gyro was safe at home treating his wounds? Fenton hoped it was the last option but his gut said different. He kept walking, staring at the great expanse of water before he heard something. It sounded like a labored groan from another creature. Fenton turned his head curiously before he spotted a familiar shade of yellow amongst the sand. He ran over to it, picking up Gyro's hat that was laying on the ground. He held it close to his chest; It still smelled like Gyro. It also smelt like seawater, fish, and dirt but that didn't matter to Fenton. Fenton inhaled the scent his heart beating more as he felt calm for a moment. Naturally his anxiety returned and heightened but he had a new sense of determination. If Gyro's hat had made it back then so would Gyro, he couldn't be too far. Another groan this time quieter suprised Fenton as he looked around, spotting a hand upturned towards the sky. Fenton ran over still holding the hat, he slowed down as he got to the person.
It was Gyro.
Gyro was there lying in the sand, one arm up by his head the other one limp at his side, his body partially turned on the side. His hair was messy, soaked, and dirty. His feathers were coated in sand and Fenton was sure that Gyro would not want to wear that outfit again. Fenton looked at Gyros face, crouching down and brushing the hair out of his eyes. Gyro was peaceful almost, obviously ignoring the small amount of blood on his beak and the obviously horrid condition he was in. Gyro's face was relaxed, the bags under his eyes lessened and he wasn't scowling or frowning. Fenton felt tears come to his eyes as he smiled seeing Gyro in one piece. That smile quickly faded when he realized Gyro was breathing very shallowly, his chest rising and falling only once every 15 seconds. Fenton knew Gyro needed medical attention ASAP but he wouldn't be able to carry him himself and yelling wouldn't do that much good. Fenton stepped back a solid 3 feet before yelling out,
"Blathering Blatherskite!" As the armour came flying towards him.
'this should do it' he thought looking at the Gizmosuit armour on him before he rolled over and scooped up Gyro, carrying the man bridle style and grabbing Gyro's hat. Gyro's body was limp in his gizmo-arms, his head lolled to the side. Fenton looked at him sadly praying to God he would be ok. Fenton rolled back to the bin to be greeted by everyone, as Fenton held up Gyro, Scrooge's face hardened demanding Fenton take him to the hospital and Launchpad to start the car. Donald and Beakly took the kids inside promising them a sleepover in the bin and vending machine snacks.
--3 Days Later with Gyro--
There it was again.
That blasted buzzing/ringing sound.
Gyro let out a growl or a grumble or some sound to express his annoyance before realizing his throat hurt. Gyro cracked open his eyes just a tiny bit to see where he was. It was a room that was both familiar and oddly different. White walls, a small tv shaped blob, some steady beeping sound, muted colors, Fenton at the foot of his bed, sheets, industrial cleaning smell, closed curtains- wait, Fenton at the foot of his bed?! Gyro looked down more, unable to make out the details but able to see a tan blob with a yellow blob and part of a purple blob.
"Wh-hmmm?" He slurred as the blob moved. Gyro now saw two eye shapes as the blob moved more, it looked like Fenton was looking for something he had.
Gyro slowly blinked, trying to squint and see Fenton or anything more than 2 feet away from him really. The blob moved closer before he put something on Gyro's face, Gyro's vision cleared up as he was able to see around him. Sure enough Gyro was in the hospital, wearing a cheap hospital gown, with Fenton there to see whatever condition he was in. Gyro felt a sharp pain in his chest as he winced, Fentons face growing in concern.
"Sir are you ok?"
"I'm just fine" Gyro replied through clenched teeth
"You can't expect me to believe that statement" Fenton replied
"I can hope" Gyro responded feeling the pain subside to a dull throb.
"Well you should rest. You're not getting released until tommorow anyways. No point in faking your fine"
"But I am fine!" Gyro protested trying to move before feeling his shoulders hurt too and settling to lay back.
Fenton walked over putting his hand on Gyro's.
"I'm glad you're back sir" he said warmly
"T-thanks.." Gyro mumbled looking away
"I'm serious, I'm glad you're alive." Fenton replied
"Well, I'm not exactly. I mean, I'm gonna be in debt for years being in this hospital room! How long was I out anyways?"
"3 days" Fenton replied as Gyro leaned back groaning
"I'm financially fucked." He deadpanned
"I wouldn't say that.." Fenton said
"Well I would. Why do you think me and Manny gave a grade-A medkit in the lab? I'll tell you it's not company policy." Gyro responded, his mood sour.
Fenton looked at the door, "I'm sure you'll be fine. I can try to help if you want?" He suggested
"Oh no. No way. You are not paying a cent. That's final" Gyro said stubbornly
"Neither of you are paying a cent." Another voice said as both of them turned to see who it was. Scrooge walked in the room, shutting the door.
Gyro leaned back miserably, 'could this day get worse?' he thought
"Gyro." Scrooge said as Gyro snapped to attention.
"Y-yes?"
"I'm paying for this hospital stay, so you won't have to worry about that." He said with a small smile.
"T-thank you sir!"
"I'd thank your 'assistant' for getting you from the shore if I were you" Scrooge said nodding towards Fenton. "If not for him we would've lost our greatest inventor"
Gyro looked at Fenton suprised, a blush creeping onto his cheeks
"You have the week off while we redo the lab, if there's any additions within reason, send a report to the office for approval. I have a meeting to attend but,"
He walked over to Gyro, putting a hand on his shoulder
"It's good to have you back, son" he said before leaving as Gyro stared in shock
"Wow.. adoptive son of the richest duck in the world" Fenton joked
"S-shut up" Gyro responded
"Nope. And you can't make me" Fenton teased
"I'll take away your Gizmosuit privileges." Gyro replied
Fenton faked a gasp. "How dare you! After saving your life too!"
"Oh please, we both know you wouldn't let me die." He replied
Fenton sighed knowing he lost. "You're right.."
"Of course I am."
Fenton looked up at Gyro before the nurse walked in.
"Visiting ends in 5 minutes" she said before walking out.
Fenton looked at Gyro as they made eye contact, Fenton smiling a little. "See you tommorow?" He asked
"Sure." Gyro responded
Fenton walked over to Gyro before giving him a mouth boop on the forehead and leaving Gyro a blushing mess.
Gyro layed back in bed staring gay ahead. Gyro thought about that kiss for the rest of the night.

Eleven (C.H.)
Tumblr media
Summary: Friends with benefits type of situation with Cal. He’s kind of an ass but he pounds you good and that’s what matters in fics like these.
Warning: SMUT
Words: 4,7k
His head was pounding softly when he finally opened his eyes. One short glance to his bedside table told him it was already ten o’clock and he couldn’t stop the curse from falling from his lips. Rubbing his face, he turned to the other side and looked at the girl lying beside him.
The eye make-up she had been wearing was nothing more than just a smudge, and her dark hair was all over her face. When his eyes moved lower, he could see the marks his lips and teeth had left on the pale soft skin on her neck and chest. A tiny smirk appeared on his face when he thought back to the way she had moaned when he was making them and how wet her core had been under his fingers. There were faint bruises on her hips from his hands when he had held her still.
Last night was a success.
Carefully, he reached out his hand to brush some of her hair away from her face. His lips had already parted as he was about to talk to her, but he froze for a second, realising that her name had somehow slipped out of his mind.
“Hey…,” he finally said in the end while he lightly stroked her cheek. “Wake up.”
She murmured something towards him in response, keeping her eyes closed still. Calum sighed quietly to himself before talking to her yet again, trying to awaken her. Her chest looked incredible when she suddenly reached her arms out and went for a stretch. It caught him by surprise when she suddenly rolled over and set herself down right on the top of him. She kissed his chest while her hips moved slowly against him.
“How about you wake me up properly, huh?” She suggested to him in a sleepy voice as she looked up to his face. “Then we can go get something to eat because I am absolutely starving after last night.”
He just stared at her, taking quite a long time to consider this offer. The right answer to it was supposed to be rather obvious, and yet…
“You need to leave.”
This was clearly not the type of awakening she had been hoping for, but it seemed to work out just as well. Maybe even better. She was now staring at him with her eyes opened wide while propping herself up on his chest.
“Wait… Are you being serious right now?”
“Mhhm.”
Her nails dug into his chest and somehow, in this instance he found this way less pleasurable than he had done during the night. Finally, she got off from the top of him, making him hiss out in pain once more.
“You are such an ass.”
“Okay.” He nodded, sitting himself up on the bed so he was now leaning against the headboard.
“Okay? That’s all you are going to say?” He heard the disbelief in her voice when she said that and wondered what kind of reaction, she had expected from him. If this was her opinion of him, that was all right, she was entitled to have one. He would not argue with her.
“The shirt is over there,” Calum said eventually, pointing towards the place by the door where her t-shirt was lying on the bag with his football gear. Instead of thanking him, the girl just scoffed before going to get it. He might have been an ass, but she was not with the best manners either. His guess was that she would leave this part out though when telling about this to her friends. To be honest, he didn’t really understand what was all the dramatical sighing, stumping around and sending him offended looks about.
They have met yesterday. It was obvious what was the whole interaction leading to and no matter how hard he had tried; he couldn’t think of anything that could have given her the idea that this would be anything more than a one-night stand.
“I suppose you don’t really care about my number, do you?”
If he really was such an ass as she claimed him to be, he would have laughed right then, but he didn’t. Did she really need to ask that? Chewing on his lip to stop himself from chuckling, Calum slowly shook his head. “Not really,” he admitted.
“Sorry,” he then quickly tried to add but it most probably got drowned in the shower of names she was addressing him with to herself. About a minute later, she was gone with a loud slam of the door and instead of being overflown with guilt, Calum was just very much relieved that she had finally left.
When he later met up with his friends at a party, one of them was throwing, they were all quite eager to hear about how his night had gone, considering that he had left them in the pub without saying a single word. He had been there on the bar stool one second, chatting the girl up with his usual ‘let me fuck you up’ look and when they had wanted to check how he was holding up, the pair had already gone.
Calum was never one to keep his bedroom adventures for himself. After all, what guy wouldn’t enjoy being patted on his shoulder for what a man he was. If the number of girls one had slept with was the true indicator of their worth was another thing he better decided not to dive into though. At the time being, he was happy with everything as it was. No need for any changes whatsoever.
“You know, if she hadn’t started with the let’s go for breakfast together thing, there’s a big chance I would have given in,” Calum admitted with a shrug taking a long drag from his cigarette. He felt the need to defend himself after Luke called him an idiot for passing on the opportunity of a good morning sex.
“Take a girl out for a meal after you spent a night with her, and you will not get rid of her. Isn’t that right, Ash?” His friend flipped him off for mocking him like this, even though that there could have been no doubts about that he was happy in the relationship he had gotten himself into by basically a complete accident.
“Laugh at me all you want. I’m just here waiting for the time when some girl loses her shit and kicks your ass.”
“Or her boyfriend,” Michael chirped in, making everyone except Calum laugh. “I’ll never forget how Kyle dragged you out of that pub in front of everyone. You had a big-ass black eye already forming up by the time you had realised what was going on… I’m telling you. It’s just a matter of time before you end up sleeping with someone you shouldn’t have and paying for it.”
“The mistake was on her part. Not mine. Who the fuck comes up to their boyfriend crying and tells them about how they had just gotten dumped?”
“Who have you left crying again? Please, don’t tell me it was Kelly from English lit. The last time you screwed her over I had to pay for it by making the analysis all by myself because she wouldn’t stop bawling her eyes out.” The girl who just joined them sat up on the kitchen counter right beside to where he was standing and Calum couldn’t help but let his head hang down low, rubbing the bridge of his nose. She would never forgive him for this one.
“I’ve already apologised to you for this.”
“I don’t need you to apologise. I need you to stop fucking people I know, darling,” she informed him simply with a sweet smile.
“I don’t think you knew this one,” Luke was the one to bring her peace and she could let out a relieved sigh.
“Good. Thank you.” She nudged Calum lightly with her foot, and he flashed her a tiny smile.
“Anything for you.”
She always laughed at him when he said this, assuring him that there was no need for him to try to sweet talk her, but the truth was that he meant these words more than anything. She and what they had together was incredibly precious to him. He would be damned for even risking losing something like this. Risking to lose her.
She knew how he was, and she adored him exactly that way.  Accepted him with his flaws and all. Never even suggested that he should change anything about the way he lived. And he did the same thing for her.
“Keep that mind because I might need your help,” she told him. “There’s a guy over the- No! Don’t look. Not now, at least!” She quickly stopped him when he was turning his head in the direction she was carefully pointing at with her thumb. “We’ve been talking over texts for a while. He seemed fun over the phone, but I’m not sure I’m still feeling it. I’m giving him an hour. If things don’t get better and I am still bored out of my mind – you step in.”
Ashton chuckled from few meters away. “And how is he supposed to know, if you are enjoying yourself?”
“It’s easy. If I am not, I’ll have the same expression I wear when listening to you.”
Calum choked on his beer a little and then nodded his head in agreement when she gave him a pressing look.  “Of course. I’ll come and save you when necessary.”
When he had agreed to this, however, he couldn’t have known that one of the most beautiful girls at the party would strike up a conversation with him. Conversation, which was getting partly disturbed by him constantly searching for his dear friend in the crowd.
“Are you looking for someone?” The girl asked, not leaving his darting eyes without a comment anymore.
“No,” Calum told her with a grin, casually shrugging his shoulders and then paid extra attention to the beauty in front of him. It lasted only for a moment, and he soon began to squirm. “Well, yeah, I am actually,” he eventually admitted. “My friend. She asked me to keep an eye out on her. She’s here with a guy she doesn’t know too well.”
It was a truthful explanation, but the girl didn’t seem too convinced and eventually moved on to someone else, who wasn’t examining the crowd for some other girl. He didn’t get to be annoyed and disappointed for too long, though. Within just a few minutes, his phone buzzed in his pocket with a message from her.
We’re on the roof. Thought he was bringing me here to make out, but he won’t shut up about stars. Come to help asap.
Was it bad that he laughed and wanted to leave her there suffering for a bit longer as a payback for ruining his possible lay? Maybe. But he was an ass, and so he didn’t feel bad about leaving her there for a few more minutes.
The door leading to the roof creaked loudly when he opened them. However, the guy didn’t seem to be bothered by it a single bit. His hand remained pointing up towards the sky with his head tilted back, while his date was sitting down on the concrete, chipping on her nail polish. She had been right. She looked the same way she did when Ashton started with one of his never-ending rants.
“Here you are!” Calum finally spoke out, making the pair turn their heads towards him. A relieved look appeared on her face, while the guy’s chin dropped slightly.
“Hey! Calum!” She spoke out, pretending to be surprised to see him there. He made a mental note to tease her later about her acting skills.
“Hi.” He waved a little and then shook his head. “I didn’t mean you though.” He shrugged and looked at the guy. “Billy is looking for you. Told me you should meet him in the kitchen.”
“Billy?” The guy looked absolutely confused and Calum had to try hard to keep it together. “I don’t think I know any-.” Calum cut him off.
“I don’t know, man. He told me to find you and looked pretty upset.”
“Oh… Okay,” the guy eventually nodded, remaining to look rather puzzled. “I’ll be right back,” he assured her before rushing towards the exit.
The two stayed quiet until the door shut closed behind him. “Who the fuck is Billy?” She asked, but he just shrugged while walking closer.
“Dunno. You said you wanted to make out on a roof. I can help,” he offered nonchalantly, making her laugh. She said nothing to that and just pulled him in for a kiss.
This was not an unexplored territory for them. There was a big difference between a simple fun, lust and love, and they were both very good at not overstepping these lines.
His kisses were leaving her weak in her knees, and he was breathless every time she pulled away. They had spent countless nights tangled in the sheets together, moaning each other’s names into the dark. There were no romantic feelings involved, but their bond was still more special than anything either of them had ever experience. They could be unconditionally themselves and didn’t have to worry about anything.
“You owe me, by the way,” he muttered out after their lips separated.
“What for?” She asked and wiped some of her lipstick away from his skin.
“I could’ve been leaving with a ten tonight. I had to drop her because of you.” Looking at him, it was very difficult to not burst out laughing, but somehow, she managed.
“Well, I am incredibly sorry.” She nodded her head. “Your sacrifice is deeply appreciated.”
Calum smirked a little.  “I don’t need you to apologise. I need you to make up for that, darling.” Seeing her roll her eyes in a playful annoyance made his smirk turn into a genuine grin.
“You are an ass.”
“So I’ve been told,” Calum admitted casually, making her roll her eyes yet again.
She leaned closer to him, kissing the smirk that pissed her off away from his face.
“How about you tell me what you would do the ten you wanted to bring to your dorm?” She whispered after a moment and he smiled against her lips.
“I think I’d prefer to show your, actually.” He gave her a peck before stepping away and grabbing her hand.
Together they left the roof, eager to leave this place as quickly as possible. They were just rushing down the stairs when someone called them in the hallway. That someone being her rather disappointing date, who stared at Calum rather annoyed because there was no Billy waiting for him.
She hit Calum’s side with her elbow when he started to laugh as soon as they left the apartment building. “He was boring, but he didn’t deserve that.”
“He didn’t deserve you,” he objected, rubbing his ribs while they walked on the empty, quiet street. Luckily enough, Ashton lived close to the campus so the journey wouldn’t take them longer than ten minutes.
“Quit it,” she shut his argument immediately.
“That’s the ‘ten treatment’. I’m nice and polite, I pay compliments…”
“So the ‘ten treatment’ comprises lying and pretending you are something you are not?”
He took a second to think about it and then nodded. “Basically.”
“I’m sure your mom’s proud.”
“She is. Because she doesn’t know about any of this. And she is never going.”
She laughed. “I had a feeling that that’s how this works.”
Calum gestured his hands in the air, stopping her from saying anything. “Enough about me, though…. You look absolutely stunning tonight. I could hardly take my eyes off you back in there.” His voice was usually slow and calming, but the tone he used right now really got to her. And when a corner of his mouth moved up in this cute half-smile while his eyes quickly looked away, almost as if he was ashamed, she was honestly kind of stunned.
“Damn. You really are good.”
He chuckled and wrapped one of his arms around her shoulders, pulling her to his side. “The best,” he said somewhat smugly before placing a soft kiss to the top of her head.
They walked peacefully together; him stopping her to steal a kiss or two everyone once and then. Once they finally stood in front of the dorm, he let her pull away from him so he could fish for the key card to let them in.
It all happened so quickly; she honestly didn’t even get much of a chance to wrap her mind around it. One moment he had his hand on the small of her back while holding the door open for her and the next one, he had her pressed against the wall.
He was inches away from kissing her, and she was so damn eager for him to just do it. His hand roamed over her ass and squeezed it roughly over the jeans. He dipped his hand down to the crook of her neck and placed one wet kiss right there before looking up to her face somewhat sheepishly. “You are going to make me so happy tonight.”
It was a matter of seconds during which his expression changed into a more serious one, and she could see the hunger in his eyes. She knew that look well enough.
She tilted her head ever so slightly, inviting him to come kiss her again. Calum took up on that, teasing her with his tongue before finally giving in after hearing her annoyed hums. The automatic light in the entrance hall had already turned off, but it was the last thing the two seemed to care about. They were way too lost in the taste of one another and nothing could make them pull away. Nothing except urge to get even closer to each other. Even through all the layers of clothing, she could feel him getting harder and the anticipation to touch his naked body was driving her wild. Both of them were out of breath when they pulled away, and he wouldn’t take his hands off of her for a single moment while they were heading towards his room. They would definitely make it there much faster if they could only keep their hands to themselves.
Where would be the fun in that though, right?
As they stopped in the middle of the hall yet again, Calum’s warm hand sneaked under her shirt and traced her breast covered with her bra. He smirked into their kiss when he found her hard nipple poking through the fabric. “Someone’s excited,” he muttered in a shaky breath.
“You have no idea.”
He locked his eyes on his face while she grabbed his hand and guided to the hem of her jeans. With a swift movement, she undid the button and led him under the lace of her panties. Right there and then Calum realised that bringing her with him was undoubtedly the best thing he could have done. She shivered as his fingers slowly brushed over her soft skin and her clit. He got a good idea about her eagerness soon enough when he felt how wet she was. The way his body reacted to this discovery was almost painful. As if she could read his mind, she reached towards him and stroked his throbbing cock through his jeans. His jaw tensed with him trying to keep his composure and not say a single word.
This was not the right place to be something like this.
And yet he still slid his finger between her folds and then spreading the wetness around her clitoris before giving it few circular rubs. It made her gasp. Quickly, he raised his other hand up and placed it to her mouth as a reminder to not make a sound. She gave him a light nod, letting him know she understands that she must remain quiet. However, it proved to be more difficult than not with his skilled fingers picking up their pace and pressing against her much harder. A quiet whimper slipped out of her mouth, making him glare at her warningly.
“Do that again and I will not let you cum tonight,” he whispered to her ear while his thigh made her step her legs further apart. She was digging her fingers to his hips, rather closing her eyes when she felt his fingers moving closer to her entrance. When he pushed two of them inside, she didn’t dare to even breathe for a second. She expected him to pull them out again, but they curled inside her, repeatedly pressing against the spot which made her head spin. She was just a moment away from coming all over his hand when suddenly the lights in the whole corridor turned on. The light burned against her eyelids and caused her to open her eyes. The guy could not have picked the worst timing to go to the bathroom.
Calum didn’t hesitate for even just a second to position himself better so the intruder couldn’t see anything he was not supposed to. A thing he did not do however was pulling his fingers from inside her. They continued to move inside her as if they could not get exposed any second, and she wasn’t sure if she loved him or hated him for it. Probably both. His whole hand was now pressing against her mouth since her rapid breathing and shaky legs gave it away that the high was within a reach.
Seeing her like this, feeling her shake and squirm under his touch was way too intoxicating for him to stop now. He was dying to have her come apart for him. And so, when she did just a second later it took all the strength, he had to stop himself from coming inside his pants.
Finally, bathroom door finally closed behind that guy and they both gasped for a breath at the same time. Calum smiled at her as he took a step back and licked off the glistening juice from his fingers before he motioned for her. “Come.”
She wanted to punch him. Seriously. But she quickly closed the button on her jeans again and followed him into his room, which was only a few meters away.
“I can’t believe you’ve done that,” she once they got inside.
“I did nothing. You are the who came all over my hand while some random guy walked past you,” Calum said with a grin. When he noticed that she was not grinning back at him though, he stepped closed and kissed her lips softly. “You are not really mad, are you?” He wondered quietly.
She wanted to say yes just to make him feel a bit bad for what he had done, but the truth was that she wasn’t, not really, and so she gently shook her head at him.
“See.” A bright smile appeared on his face once again. “I know you are kinky. That’s why I like you so much.”
She rolled her eyes at him and nudged him with her his as she moved past him. “Get naked, you dumbass.”
He didn’t need to be asked twice to do this. His jeans were painfully tight now, and he couldn’t wait to get rid of them. By the time he finally got disposed of all the clothing just like she had asked him, she was already sitting on the bed in nothing but her panties. One time he had mentioned how much he enjoys taking the panties off. She had laughed at him when he had said that it is like unwrapping a present, you wouldn’t want someone else to do that for you either. It made him smile.
When he got onto the bed, he pushed her to lie back. Gently, he made her to rise her hips up so he could take the lacy underwear off. He took his time, taking in the sight in front of him as the tips of his fingers glazed over her skin. He let the panties fall to floor and abruptly tugged her hips closer to him. He was about to reach out for a condom, but she was already handing one to him. He put it on easily and after that he could finally do what he had been yearning for. There was no need for them to rush this. His cock pushed inside her slowly, and he cursed at the heavenly feeling that washed over him. He kept her legs spread open in the air as he rocked his hips forward and back, looking for the best pace for them.  As his moves became faster, the sound of their groans and moans echoed through the room. He loved how she wasn’t ashamed of touching herself when he fucked her. With one of her hands working her clit and the other pinching one of her nipples, she looked absolutely perfect. Calum shifted his body for a bit and set her feet on the mattress. He wanted to kiss her, trace his tongue all over her breast, which kept moving up and down in a mesmerising motion because of his thrusts. She smiled at him when his face got closer to herself and watched him take one of her nipples into his mouth. Her body moved against his, her hips buckling up to meet him forward just so she could feel him insider her a bit longer. He was making her see stars, and she was going back and forth between squeezing his bedsheet and gripping his shoulders. It was put to a stop by him when he suddenly took her wrists into his hands and put them above her head.
Not because he didn’t enjoy being touched by her, god no, he loved the feeling of her hands. But he also loved to see her battle with herself, struggle to keep her arms up and not to move. Especially when the excitement was taking over. She never lasted long, but she always at least tried, which was honestly somewhat endearing.
There was nothing that would rile her up more than this, and so sharing his thoughts was exactly what he went with.
“You’re cute,” Calum said as he moved his mouth to her other breast. Her lips that had been previously forming a perfect ‘o’ now shut together and before he knew it her hands had shot up to grip on his hair, making him hiss quietly as she made his head tilt back.
She made him change the position, determined to ride him so she could show him how ‘cute’ she truly was. He would have to be a complete dumb ass to complain. He was more than willing to let her have her way and as soon as she sunk down on him, he was burying his head back into the pillows. She always went all on in, taking him deep inside her and then just rolling her hips around. This time was no different.
He had tried, he really did, but with everything that had happened, the image of her reaching her climax in the middle of that corridor still fresh on his mind, he couldn’t fight it much longer. Not if she would not take it easier on him.
“Babe…,” his voice was hoarse, knowing him as well as she did, she had to know what he was planning on saying.
She did not seem to care though, and by the way she smiled at him, he had a feeling this was a revenge for earlier. Since he had not given her a chance to hold it together before, she would not give him one either.
When he burst into the condom inside her, he decided to think of it as her loss more than anything else. By being petty, she had just ruined her chances to have even more fun.
But man, was he wrong. She touched herself in front of him over and over again. No matter how exhausted and drained he was feeling, she somehow got him hard a few more times by putting on such a show.
The sun was already coming up when both of their heads hit the pillow with the plan to go to sleep. Calum was slowly drifting off when she spoke out.
“What’s my number, anyway?” Her voice sounded playful, but she was genuinely curious.
He took a second to think about it before answering. “Eleven,” he finally decided.
“And what do those get?”
“I take them out for breakfast. Now go to sleep.”
