I get that this is me being a crazy himejoshi but it's amazing how anglophones have like... un-bechdel-tested Frieren, to the point that her sole personality trait is wistfully remembering A Guy. Her deep love of magic as not just a means of slaying demons, but as an artform? Her contributions to the analytical study of magical forms and collection of folk magics? The (female) master who instilled in her this love of magic as a living art, and through it love for life itself? The (female) protégée whom she's taken care of for longer than she travelled with Himmel, and through whom she really learned everything she now knows about the beauty of human ephemerality and capacity for rapid evolution? that's all just window dressing.
