Which is more of a right: food or health care? In my opinion, it's food. So for the universal health care concept to make sense to me, first I really need to see a bill that gives me the right to walk into a Taco Bell and get a free nacho supreme anytime I want 🍲 . This post clearly attacks the push for universal health care in the USA. However, I am actually in favor of, in theory, a universal health care concept. That said, what perturbs me in life to no end is the dogmatic ignorance of many people. In the case of the health care debate, I see this dogmatic ignorance most prominently manifested in one side trying to guilt and condemn the other side by calling healthcare as a "right" without acknowledging the fact that healthcare as it exists today was built from, and exists on, capitalistic principles including supply and demand. This is why, in my opinion, equating a universal health care bill to a universal free food bill is a much more opportune analogy than simply calling health care a "right" and trying to use emotional arguments to get people to support it. . These are the ideas we need to think about in order to progress together as a society. If we do not listen to each other then will we ever truly get anywhere?
