1. Why did you chose your url

when i REALLY got into mcr in like january 2020 (i’d been a fan before but pretty much only listened to about half of revenge and then tbp and dd) sorrows was one of the very first songs of bullets i got into specifically the knives/sorrow demo on mdnsy. i was checking for canon mcr urls and i saw that this one was taken and i was DESPERATE to have it (also because it’s a bit more ~niche~ reference to our lady) so on the off chance i dm’ed the blog and its owner just happened to check tumblr for the first time in years a few days later and let me have it :) akdjfhksdjhf that was so long

2. Any sideblogs?

technically THIS is a sideblog because @wakemeupbeforeyouvangogh is my main (i didn’t understand how accounts work when i made this blog) but i also run @seaborns (tv, mostly criminal minds and the west wing), @njolras (les mis), i used to run @vsuvia (the arcana) but it’s inactive now, and i also make gifs and content for @daily-cm

3. How long have you been on Tumblr?

it was my ninth anniversary on my birthday ;____;

4. Do you have a queue tag?

yeah, it used to be #still into queue but now i don’t wanna use that bc ch*d so it’s #drain the fantasy of queue which is from pool by paramore aka THEEEEE song. i try to keep a pretty active queue but i forget a lot

5. Why did you start your blog in the first place?

my friend sarah had a blog in sixth grade and it was all about superwholock (of course) i can still so clearly picture the photo of the eleventh doctor she had in her sidebar. but my parents were super strict on the internet (and also i had just recently had someone creep on me on instagram) so they didn’t let me get a blog until i was 13 and it had to be about something educational (hence the van gogh theme for my main). until then i checked a few blogs like the morning paper. and i made this blog because my dad didn’t know how tumblr worked and i was getting into bandom and bored of not posting about it

6. Why did you chose your icon/pfp?

it’s not the best picture of it but i really love the brand new eyes stage setup with the picture frames and it goes with my icon

it’s this hayley edit with almost 40k which is so embarrassing because i didn’t properly source either of the pictures and i think the second one is actually someone else’s edited pic that i just slapped a sepia filter over...... i was 14 i didn’t know better

it really depends and it’s kind of less rn because i work a lot but i’m assuming i’ll be more active when im home in a few days with nothing to do but i tend to try to at least queue some stuff before i go to bed

yeah jdfhdkjfh multiple times. when i was younger it was dramatic but now it just tends to be arguing with reposters

15. How do you feel about “you need to reblog this” posts?

if it’s like political or about something going on in the world then i’ll probably reblog it, if it’s one of those old-fashioned “LISTEN HERE FUCKERS LET ME EXPLAIN U A THING” then i will ignore it. unfortunately reblog bait (i.e. reblog this for good luck or you’ll have the worst day of your life) gets me because i have ocd

yeah i love them i’m just so bad at remembering to do them

YES i absolutely adore them but for some reason like EVERY time i post one i have to go do something else but i want to do more

Chan has had feelings for you from the first time he talked to you. 

In the first video call the two of you had back in May 2018, he found himself enamored of you. He found you so beautiful, with your then chin-length dark brown hair and your milk-chocolate skin and pretty eyes, and the way you talked and explained things...he knew that you would be not only a great musician to have helping his group with their next few albums but a great person for him to have a romantic relationship with. 

The romantic relationship thing fell flat when he found out that you were 17 years old turning 18 while he was 19 years old turning 20. That’s fine, he figured. We can be friends.

His impression of you only grew when he found out that you were basically fluent in Korean. “Why did you learn it?” he asked in genuine interest. 

“I got into K-Pop when I was 10 years old in 2011. My first song was ‘Hot Summer’ by F(X) and not too long after ‘Hot Summer’ was released, ‘Be Mine’ by Infinite came out and by then I was sold.” you started. 

“Ah, I remember when those songs came out! I was 13 years old and it was my first summer in South Korea after I became a trainee,” Chan reminisced. “But continue, sorry.” You smiled and waved off his apology. 

“Don’t worry about it. But as I was saying, in my tween obsession, I took it upon myself to try to learn Korean so I could understand what the artists were saying in their songs. So, I started by watching lyric videos on YouTube and writing down the Hangul and the English translations and then I watched dramas like, um, Boys Over Flowers and The Heirs. By 2015, I could understand and read Korean but my pronunciation was weird so I joined some language exchange apps where I met some really nice people, as well as some really weird older guys, but the really nice people and I exchanged information and we would video chat and after a while my grammar and my speech improved.” you said. “That was a lot, I’m sorry.” you apologized. This time he waved you off. 

“Don’t worry!” he laughed. “So how did you get into music?” he asked you.

“My parents have had me in piano lessons since I was 5 years old and vocal lessons since I was 7, but I stopped after I turned 14. My dad was very involved in music production. He used to write jingles for commercials and he helped make some demos for music made by smaller artists. I think my mom told me that he proposed to her with a song he wrote himself.” you laughed. 

“But when I was 14, my dad got into a really bad car accident and he was stuck in a coma and was basically brain dead, so we...you know. That was a tough time for me but music, especially K-Pop helped me through it. My dad had a small home studio set up in a room in my house and before he passed, my dad taught me how to use everything. So I would do little projects where I made songs that I wanted to hear. The first project that a company decided to use was called ‘Eclipse’ and it was something I made in October 2016 and posted on a website where producers share demos or instrumentals, and production companies can buy them to use in songs. I was contacted in January 2017 by a newer company called Blockberry Creative who wanted to know if they could use my song for their upcoming girl group and I agreed.” 

“Do you know what the song is now?” Chan asked. You nodded. 

“It was released in May 2017 for the debut of the Loona member Kim Lip. They decided to keep the title the same.” you tell him. “Have you heard it?” you asked him. He shook his head. 

“I’ll play it for you,” you said, pulling out your phone. 

“Wait, no.” he says. You look back at your laptop in confusion.

“What?” you asked. 

“Sing it.” he says. 

“It would be better if I played it,” you say shyly. A smile spreads across Chan’s face. 

“You can’t be shy now. We’ve already started the partnership and I’m going to need to hear your voice anyways, so why not start now?” he asks. You bite your lip in hesitation before sighing. 

“Fine, but only because of your dimples.” you agree which causes Chan to laugh. 

“My dimples?” he asks. 

“Yes, now do you want to hear me sing or not?” you ask him in a fake serious tone. 

“Go ahead,” he says. 

“I’ll sing the Korean version since I forgot the lyrics to the demo. Are you ready?” you ask him, a little nervous. 

“I can feel your nervous energy through the screen. It’s fine, don’t worry okay!” Chan reassures you. You sighed one last time before you began. 

“It begins eclipse

In the shaded shadows where you and I meet

It happened in the fate

The light which is lighted by mind of us

Come closer to me

This is eclipse

I can’t keep my eyes off, so will you be with me continually?

Unforgettable eclipse, it’s destiny.” 

Chan felt himself in even more awe. You were nervous for no reason. Your voice’s timbre was beautiful and your breath control and technique had to have been professionally learned.

“How would you feel about joining JYP Entertainment as a trainee?” Chan joked which caused you to laugh. 

“I’ll think about it,” you laughed.

From that night in May, you and Chan created a great friendship. 

You’ve both seen each other at your worst; Chan seeing you at your worst first. Finals week sucks. 

Time differences were very hard. With Seoul being 14 hours ahead of Chicago, someone was always going to bed late while someone was waking up early. Each day that you had school, you would spend a couple hours doing homework before videochatting. Both of you were fatigued for a while but when school ended for summer break, you had much more time to work. 

“Hey Chan?” you asked one night while the two of you were working on “M.I.A”. 

“Hmm?” he hummed as he played a beat over and over again on the computer. 

“Have you heard of this rap group from SoundCloud called 3RACHA?” you asked him. He smiled a bit. 

“Yeah, why?”

“They’re pretty cool and they have really good songs.” you sighed. 

“Yeah, I think they’re really good too,” you said. 

“They haven’t made a song since like 2017 though,” you said before groaning. “They need to comeback so they can save the South Korean rap industry again!” you exclaimed. He laughed. 

“I’m sure they’ll come back soon.” 

“I wonder if they’re handsome,” you tell him, leaning back in your chair. 

“I think they are, especially CB97,” he said, moving a sound clip to a part of a song he was recording. 

“Oh, have you met them before?” you asked, leaning forward in your chair. 

“Yeah, we’re pretty close,” he said. 

“I’m gonna Google them to find a photo,” you declare. 

“Hm, alright,” he responds. 

“Th-ree-ra-chaaaa,” you mumble as you type in the search bar. “Oh, a ‘P.A.C.E’ lyric video!” you say excitedly. Suddenly, your eyebrows begin to furrow. 

“CB Ninety- Chan you motherfu-You’re the fakest person I know! You’re literally the fakest person on the planet!” you yell. 

“So are we hot?” he asks, a shit-eating grin on his face. 

“Choke,” you say flatly, to which Chan laughs.

“Hey Chan, I got an email from this company called KQ Entertainment,” you told Chan one day via FaceTime in September. 

“Oh, Ateez’s company! Changbin knows one of the members.” Chan says. “What did they email you about?”

“They want me to come to South Korea to work as a producer for Ateez’s next few albums. KQ will pay for my living expenses and everything.” you tell him. Chan’s head snaps to face you on his phone screen. 

“Like...this South Korea? The one I’m in right now?” Chan asks dumbfounded. 

“Uh, yeah,” you tell him. 

“Have you talked to your mom about this?” Chan asks, trying to tone down his excitement in the event that you tell him that you can’t go. 

“She says that I can go and my sister thinks that it’s a great idea...” you trailed off. 

“Then why do you sound so sad?” Chan asked you. 

“I visit my dad’s grave every two weeks. I have money saved up from birthdays, Christmas, Easter, royalties, the money from JYP for helping you guys out with I Am Who and I Am You and other odd jobs that I’ve taken up over the years and I can afford to fly to Korea but...I don’t know. I know that some people think of this as a job of a lifetime...but I just...I don’t know, Chan.” you sigh. “What should I do?” you ask him. Chan felt his heart hurt at your facial expression. 

“I don’t know what I would do. If you want to come here, maybe take something of your father’s like a shirt or a photo of him,” Chan suggested. “Wouldn’t you be able to work from your house?” he asked. 

“KQ feels like it would be more efficient if I lived there so I could be easily accessible and so time zones wouldn’t be an issue.” 

“How badly do you want to go?” Chan asked you. You laughed slightly. 

“It’s been my dream since my demo for ‘Eclipse’ was first used,” you tell him. “I hadn’t thought about it prior to my demos being used.” 

“Follow your heart, (Y/N),” Chan tells you. “Do you hear me?” he asks you. You nod. 

“I have to go soon, we have to start filming the music video for the title track that YOU helped me work on in SOUTH KOREA,” Chan said. 

“Are you trying to influence me?” you laughed. 

“Maybe a little bit,” he said. “Bang Chan, we need your for filming!” you heard a voice off-screen. 

“I’ll be right there,” Chan said to the source of the voice. 

“I’ll let you go, Channie. Thanks for listening.” 

“Anytime, (Y/N),” he replies.

“Chan, one last thing!” you tell him. 

“What?” 

“You look really handsome with your curly brown hair.” you tell him. 

“What what-” “See you later, Channie!” you say before hanging up. 

He sighed, his cheeks reddening. Minho came up next to him. “Who were you talking to that has you so flustered?” he asked. 

“No one,” Chan replied, sliding his phone into his pocket. 

“Oh, it was (Y/N), wasn’t it?” Minho said, leaning closer to Chan. 

“No,” Chan said unconvincingly. 

“Yes, it was, you cradle robber!” Minho exclaimed. 

“Are we talking about Chan having the fattest crush on Lav?” Jisung comes over, taking a sip from a bottle of water. 

“No, we aren’t, and no, I don’t have a ‘fat crush’ on Lav,” Chan groans. 

“Oh he totally has a crush on Lav, he’s a cradle robber.” Woojin said, standing up next to the forming group around Chan.

“I’m not a cradle robber!” Chan exclaimed.

“That’s totally something a cradle robber would say,” Jisung whispers to Minho who nods in agreement. 

“I heard that,” Chan warned. 

“What did (Y/N) say?” Changbin asked, coming up from behind Chan. Chan shifted a little bit, knowing his younger member’s feelings towards you. 

“KQ Entertainment emailed her about coming to Korea and working on a few albums for their new boy group,” Chan said. 

“So she’s coming here?” Changbin asked, excitedly. Chan relished in knowing he had the ability to change Changbin’s mood with a single phrase. 

“She wants to but she isn’t sure if she can,” Chan says. Changbin’s happy mood changes into a dejected one. Jisung throws an arm around Changbin. 

“Here’s the other cradle robber,” Jisung teases, poking Changbin’s cheek. 

“I’m not a cradle robber,” Changbin exclaims, pushing Jisung off of him. 

“That’s something a cradle robber would say,” Minho whispers. 

“You guys are annoying, I’m going to go film,” Chan says, standing up from his chair. 

“Make sure your scene looks nice for Lav!” Minho yells. Chan ignores him. 

“Hey, Binnie, did your scene look good for Lav?” Woojin asks Changbin. 

“Chan’s right, you guys are annoying,” Changbin says as he walks away in the opposite direction as Chan. 

“I hope their rivalry doesn’t split us up,” Woojin says, crossing his arms as he looks between the two boys. 

“Me too,” Felix agrees.

“Channie?” you say into your phone, your speech slurred from sleep. It was two in the morning after all.   

“Lav? What’s wrong? Is everything okay?” Chan asked worried. 

“I’m gonna go to Korea,” you tell him, your pronunciation a bit off. 

“What?”

“I just had a dream that I went to Korea, and it was great and I feel like things would be just as great in Korea as they were in my dream. I’m gonna go to Korea.” you tell him. 

“What about your dad?” Chan asked you. You sighed. 

“I’ve gone four years without him. It’ll be tough, but I’ll be able to go four more years if I have you and the rest of the guys by my side.” you tell him. Chan smiled. 

“Why are you telling me this in Korean?” Chan laughed. 

“I wanted to see if I could speak Korean while half-awake and I feel like what I’m telling you is more meaningful when it’s said in Korean.” you slur. 

“Go to sleep, (Y/N). We can talk later.” he says. You hum in agreement. 

“Good night, Channie. I love you.” you tell him before hanging up. 

“Wait Lav-” the line beeped. 

“I love you too.” he whispered. 

“Cradle robber!” Jisung sang as he passed the doorway to Chan’s dorm room. 

“Shut up!” Chan yelled.

Chan received a text from you on November 17, 2018, at 1 PM in Seoul, before a variety show appearance.

lav <3: are you blind?? i got a birthday tattoo!!! i’ve been 18 years old since the 10th!!!

chan: (y/n) it looks really nice! it complements your skin tone!

lav <3: thanks!! it stings and i’ll have to put the tattoo solve on it for a while but it’s TOTALLY worth it. i’m getting another one next month!!

Han llegado los desastres: ¿Cuál es la voluntad de Dios?

El “nuevo coronavirus”, unas palabras que infunden temor en el corazón de la gente, surgió por primera vez en Wuhan (China), desde donde se ha extendido por todo el planeta. A lo largo y ancho del mundo están muriendo personas de forma masiva y muchas otras se hallan en un constante estado de pánico, con la sensación de que los grandes desastres han caído sobre nosotros. Nadie sabe cuánto durará esta pandemia ni cuántas vidas se cobrará. Los que creen en Dios, no obstante, en el fondo saben que todo ocurre con el permiso de Dios, sin el cual no puede suceder absolutamente nada. Así pues, ¿cuál es la voluntad de Dios al permitir esta epidemia sobre nosotros?

Vuelve la mirada a la historia y busca la voluntad de Dios El Antiguo Testamento relata que la gente de Sodoma era malvada, promiscua y corrupta, y que la ciudad rebosaba tal sed de sangre y muerte que la gente incluso quería matar a los ángeles. Ni siquiera se les ocurrió arrepentirse en ningún momento, por lo que Dios hizo llover fuego sobre ellos desde el cielo y los destruyó a todos. Los que conocen la Biblia, sin embargo, saben que, antes de que Dios hiciera caer la tragedia sobre la ciudad, Abraham intercedió ante Él por Sodoma. He aquí un fragmento de este relato bíblico: “Y Jehová dijo: ‘Si encuentro en Sodoma cincuenta justos en la ciudad, salvaré todo el lugar por el bien de ellos’. Es doloroso que no fuera posible hallar ni a diez justos en una ciudad tan grande, así que Dios, finalmente, no tuvo más remedio que destruirla.

La gente que habita actualmente en este mundo, repleto de tentaciones, es incluso peor que la de Sodoma tantos años atrás. Satanás ha corrompido a la gente de hoy hasta tal punto que adora el mal y ama la injusticia; la tierra está plagada de violencia y adulterio, y por todos lados se ven karaokes, salones de masaje de pies, hoteles y discotecas en calles principales y pequeños callejones. Esos lugares rebosan maldad y promiscuidad. Todo el mundo, depravado sobremanera, vive para comer, beber, divertirse y entregarse a los placeres físicos. No hay amor entre las personas, sino que todas ellas mienten, pelean y compiten entre sí por el estatus, la fama y la fortuna; se engañan y traman unas contra otras e incluso llegan a las manos por el dinero y la ganancia. Toda la humanidad vive bajo el campo de acción de Satanás y nadie tiene amor por las cosas positivas, ni anhela la luz ni se ofrece a aceptar la gracia de la salvación de Dios. Hasta los creyentes viven en una espiral de pecado y confesión, totalmente incapaces de mantenerse fieles a las enseñanzas del Señor. Llegan hasta el punto de seguir las tendencias mundanas e ir en pos de los placeres de la carne. Ni aunque sepan que están viviendo en pecado pueden despojarse de las ataduras de este; sus corazones se han alejado demasiado de Dios. ¿Acaso la humanidad entera, corrompida hasta semejante extremo, no alcanzó hace mucho tiempo el punto en que debería haber sido destruida?

Dios espera que la gente sea capaz de arrepentirse Se produce un desastre detrás de otro y la voluntad de Dios es que nos presentemos ante Él para arrepentirnos. Desea que todo el mundo se arrepienta y nadie perezca. Hace dos mil años, el Señor Jesús dijo: “Arrepentíos, porque el reino de los cielos se ha acercado” (Mateo 4:17). En este momento, tal vez algunos observen: "Los incrédulos no creen en Dios y es imposible que se arrepientan. Sin embargo, nosotros, tras recibir la fe en el Señor, a menudo lloramos amargamente ante Él mientras oramos. Admitimos nuestros pecados anteriores y no volveremos a hacer nada malo. Somos capaces de ser tolerantes y pacientes con los demás. Puede que demos limosnas y donativos y ayudemos a otros; incluso podemos pasar todo nuestro tiempo afanándonos por trabajar para el Señor y no lo traicionaremos aunque nos detengan y encarcelen. ¿Esto no es verdadero arrepentimiento? Si practicamos constantemente de este modo, el Señor nos protegerá y evitará que nos lleven por delante los desastres". Sin embargo, ¿es esa la realidad? En una ocasión, el Señor Jesús dijo: “En verdad, en verdad os digo que todo el que comete pecado es esclavo del pecado; y el esclavo no queda en la casa para siempre; el hijo sí permanece para siempre” (Juan 8:34-35). Una vez que hemos recibido la fe en el Señor, somos capaces de ser humildes y pacientes, de ayudar a otros, de sacrificarnos, entregarnos, predicar el evangelio y dar testimonio del Señor, y tenemos algunas buenas conductas externas. No obstante, lo que no podemos negar es que las actitudes corruptas que hay en nosotros, como la arrogancia, el engreimiento, la perversidad, la mentira, el egoísmo y la bajeza, no se han purificado y aún somos capaces de pecar continuamente. Por ejemplo, bien sabemos que el Señor nos exige honestidad, pero, controlados por nuestra naturaleza egoísta y despreciable, en cuanto algo atenta contra nuestros intereses personales, no podemos evitar mentir y engañar; controlados por nuestra naturaleza arrogante y engreída, siempre logramos que los demás hagan lo que les mandamos sin importar de qué se trate y, cuando no lo hacen, nos enfadamos y les soltamos una reprimenda; y cuando sobrevienen desastres y pruebas, nos quejamos y culpamos al Señor. Estos son solamente algunos ejemplos. Nuestros pecados son como la cizaña, que vuelve a crecer justo después de ser cortada. Aunque lloremos amargamente todos los días mientras oramos y confesamos nuestros pecados, seguimos sin transformarnos. ¿Acaso es esto verdadero arrepentimiento? ¿Quién podría garantizar que Dios habría de proteger a una persona así en medio de los desastres? El verdadero arrepentimiento se da cuando se han purificado y transformado por completo las corruptas actitudes satánicas de una persona, cuando esta ya no quiere hacer el mal, pecar ni oponerse a Dios, cuando es capaz de someterse sinceramente a Él y adorarlo. Estas son las únicas personas aptas para heredar las promesas y bendiciones de Dios y entrar en el reino de los cielos. Tal como señala la Biblia: “Seréis, pues, santos porque yo soy santo” (Levítico 11:45). “Bienaventurados los que lavan sus vestiduras para tener derecho al árbol de la vida y para entrar por las puertas a la ciudad” (Apocalipsis 22:14).

Cómo alcanzar el verdadero arrepentimiento y recibir la protección de Dios Entonces, ¿cómo podemos alcanzar el verdadero arrepentimiento? El Señor Jesús dijo una vez: “Aún tengo muchas cosas que deciros, pero ahora no las podéis soportar. Pero cuando Él, el Espíritu de verdad, venga, os guiará a toda la verdad, porque no hablará por su propia cuenta, sino que hablará todo lo que oiga, y os hará saber lo que habrá de venir” (Juan 16:12-13). “Porque es tiempo de que el juicio comience por la casa de Dios” (1 Pedro 4:17). “Santifícalos en la verdad; tu palabra es verdad” (Juan 17:17). El Señor profetizó que regresaría en los últimos días, que expresaría más verdades y más elevadas que en la Era de la Gracia y llevaría a cabo una etapa de trabajo para juzgar y purificar al hombre, de modo que podamos liberarnos definitivamente de las ataduras del pecado, purificarnos y transformarnos. Dado que la obra del Señor Jesús en la Era de la Gracia fue la obra de redención, la gente pudo recibir el perdón de los pecados por creer en Él. Sin embargo, no se purificó su naturaleza pecaminosa. Únicamente si aceptamos la obra del juicio de Dios en los últimos días, si se purifica y transforma nuestro carácter corrupto y si nunca más hacemos el mal, pecamos ni nos oponemos a Dios podrá afirmarse que nos hemos arrepentido de verdad. Será entonces cuando estaremos bajo la protección de Dios y sobreviviremos a los desastres.

El Señor Jesús ya ha regresado. Es Dios Todopoderoso encarnado. Dios Todopoderoso, Cristo de los últimos días, está realizando la obra de juicio, que comienza por la casa de Dios sobre la base de la obra de redención del Señor Jesús. Dios Todopoderoso dice: “En los últimos días Cristo usa una variedad de verdades para enseñar al hombre, para exponer la esencia del hombre y para analizar minuciosamente sus palabras y acciones. Estas palabras comprenden verdades diversas […]. Al emprender Su obra de juicio, Dios no deja simplemente en claro la naturaleza del hombre con sólo unas pocas palabras; la expone, la trata y la poda a largo plazo. Estos métodos de exposición, de trato y poda, no pueden ser sustituidos con palabras ordinarias, sino con la verdad que el hombre no posee en absoluto. Sólo los métodos de este tipo se consideran juicio; sólo a través de este tipo de juicio puede el hombre ser doblegado y completamente convencido de la sumisión a Dios y, además, obtener un conocimiento verdadero de Dios. Lo que la obra de juicio propicia es el entendimiento del hombre sobre el verdadero rostro de Dios y la verdad sobre su propia rebeldía. La obra de juicio le permite al hombre obtener mucho entendimiento de la voluntad de Dios, del propósito de la obra de Dios y de los misterios que le son incomprensibles. También le permite al hombre reconocer y conocer su esencia corrupta y las raíces de su corrupción, así como descubrir su fealdad. Estos efectos son todos propiciados por la obra de juicio, porque la esencia de esta obra es, en realidad, la obra de abrir la verdad, el camino y la vida de Dios a todos aquellos que tengan fe en Él” (‘Cristo hace la obra de juicio con la verdad’ en “La Palabra manifestada en carne”).

A fin de liberarnos de los grilletes de nuestro carácter satánico, Dios Todopoderoso expresa todas las verdades que pueden purificarnos y salvarnos plenamente. Desvela los misterios de la obra de gestión de Dios, de 6000 años de duración; revela el origen de la maldad del mundo, así como la esencia y verdad de la corrupción de la humanidad a manos de Satanás. Al experimentar el juicio de las palabras de Dios, vemos lo a fondo que nos ha corrompido Satanás. Arrogancia, engreimiento, egoísmo, bajeza, perversidad, mentira, avaricia, iniquidad... Nada de lo que vivimos tiene apariencia humana, lo que enciende el odio y la animadversión de Dios hacia nosotros. Al mismo tiempo, llegamos a conocer el carácter justo de Dios, que no tolera ofensa. Reconocemos que siempre vivimos de acuerdo con nuestras corruptas actitudes satánicas y que, si no practicamos la verdad, sin duda Dios nos aborrecerá y rechazará. Es entonces cuando nos postramos ante Dios y nos arrepentimos. Detestamos nuestros pecados y deseamos vivir según las palabras de Dios. Al abandonar una y otra vez la carne y practicar la verdad, poco a poco se purifica y transforma nuestro carácter corrupto. Ya no nos rebelamos contra Dios ni nos oponemos a Él, y comenzamos a someternos a Él y a venerarlo sinceramente. Estas son las únicas personas verdaderamente arrepentidas, que serán protegidas por Dios y sobrevivirán a los desastres.

Dios Todopoderoso apareció e inició Su obra hace treinta años. La obra del evangelio se ha extendido a lo largo y ancho de todas las naciones de la tierra y los millones de palabras expresadas por Dios Todopoderoso llevan mucho tiempo publicadas en internet. Estas palabras se han traducido a más de 20 idiomas; dan testimonio y están disponibles en abierto para toda la humanidad. En esta época tan oscura y malvada, las verdades expresadas por Cristo de los últimos días surgen como la luz verdadera, como un relámpago que brilla de Oriente a Occidente. Dan testimonio a toda la humanidad de que Dios ha aparecido y el Señor Jesús ha regresado. Él expresa la verdad para purificar y salvar al hombre y la única manera de que el hombre logre la salvación plena pasa por aceptar a Dios Todopoderoso. Sin embargo, Satanás ha corrompido a fondo a la humanidad. Nadie ama la verdad. Lo único que quiere la gente es codiciar los placeres del pecado. No está deseosa de investigar la obra de Dios Todopoderoso de los últimos días ni de aceptar Su juicio y castigo en los últimos días. En cambio, tiene unas nociones hondamente arraigadas de la obra de Dios y hay quienes incluso se oponen a la obra de Dios de los últimos días y la condenan públicamente. Todo el mundo vive en pecado sin pensar en arrepentirse. Muy pocos anhelan la verdad o la luz. Los desastres que vemos hoy en día son el recordatorio final de Dios, Su última advertencia a la humanidad. Más aún, son la salvación de Dios. Solo si nos presentamos ante Dios para arrepentirnos podremos recibir Su protección contra los desastres.

Atención a las advertencias de Dios Dios Todopoderoso dice: “Todos los desastres sucederán uno tras otro; todas las naciones y todos los lugares experimentarán desastres, plaga, hambre, inundación, sequía y terremotos están por todas partes. Estos desastres no ocurren sólo en uno o dos lugares, ni terminarán dentro de uno o dos días, sino que se extenderán sobre un área cada vez mayor y los desastres serán cada vez más severos. Durante este tiempo surgirán sucesivamente toda clase de plagas de insectos, y el fenómeno del canibalismo ocurrirá en todos los lugares. Este es Mi juicio sobre todas las naciones y pueblos” (‘Capítulo 65’ de Declaraciones de Cristo en el principio en “La Palabra manifestada en carne”). “Si esta desea tener un buen destino, si un país desea un buen destino, entonces el hombre debe postrarse a Dios para adorarlo, arrepentirse y confesar delante de Él, si no, la suerte y el destino del hombre acabarán inevitablemente en catástrofe” (‘Dios preside el destino de toda la humanidad’ en “La Palabra manifestada en carne”). “Mi obra final es no sólo castigar al hombre, sino ordenar el destino del hombre. Adicionalmente, es recibir reconocimiento de todos por todo lo que he hecho. Quiero que cada hombre vea que todo lo que he hecho es lo correcto y que es una expresión de Mi carácter; no es la obra del hombre, ni mucho menos toda la naturaleza, la que creó a la humanidad. Por el contrario, soy Yo el que nutre cada ser vivo entre todas las cosas. Sin Mi existencia, la humanidad sólo puede morir y sufrir la invasión de plagas. Nadie podrá ver nunca más la belleza del sol y la luna o el mundo verde; la humanidad sólo se enfrentará a la noche frígida y al valle inexorable de la sombra de la muerte. Yo soy la única salvación de la humanidad. Soy la única esperanza de la humanidad y, aún más, Yo soy Aquel sobre quien descansa la existencia de toda la humanidad. Sin Mí, la humanidad se detendrá de inmediato y por completo. Sin Mí, la humanidad sufrirá una catástrofe y será pisoteada por todo tipo de fantasmas, aunque nadie me presta atención. He realizado una obra que no puede ser realizada por nadie más, sólo con la esperanza de que el hombre me retribuya con buenas acciones” (‘Deberías preparar suficientes buenas obras para tu destino’ en “La Palabra manifestada en carne”).

Los desastres son cada vez peores en todo el mundo y se extienden por zonas crecientemente amplias. Los desventurados no pueden escapar y pareciera como si pronto fuéramos a tener sobre nosotros el fin del mundo. Todos sabemos, no obstante, que Dios gobierna nuestro destino y todos los desastres están en Sus manos. Solo si nos presentamos ante Dios para arrepentirnos y aceptar Su juicio y castigo en los últimos días tendremos la oportunidad de que nos proteja de los desastres y sobrevivamos. La marcha del mundo se está revelando ante nuestros ojos. Una vez que Dios haya salvado a todos los que pueda salvar, destruirá este mundo depravado e inmundo con los grandes desastres. Cuando llegue ese momento, los desastres se llevarán por delante a aquellos que no se hayan presentado ante Dios, entre el llanto y crujir de dientes.

When you write songs, you have to put a face to the lyric a little bit, but it was such a sexy song that there wasn’t really a person. It was a scenario more than a person. I went there. I went to that place, and that place was in a club somewhere, when you get to a club and you just start making that eye contact with this beautiful girl. And that’s kind of how the song starts. It’s really a story. In the beginning of the lyric it says, “Hey, I notice that you’re looking at me. I’m looking at you. Let’s connect.” It kinda goes little by little until it gets to the chorus, where it goes, “All right. We’re here, but now, let’s enjoy the moment. "That’s kind of what this song is all about, enjoying the moment, not rushing through it. Myself and my co-writer, we were both there sort of in mind in this scenario of this real sexy place, but there really wasn’t a face to it.

I wish I had a better story, but honestly, I woke up one morning with “Despacito” in my head. It was just that simple and that obvious to me. For some reason, that melodic sequence right there and that word “despacito” just popped into my head. And then the first thing that came together was with that little last chorus about Puerto Rico. It was the rhyme between despacito, Puerto Rico, and “Ay! Bendito,” which is an expression that we say a lot in Puerto Rico. That was like the nucleus of it all.

Later on that afternoon I had a writing session with a great friend of mine, a songwriter named Erika Ender. I recorded all these little ideas on my phone, and I was like, “Hey, look. I have this idea to do this fun, uptempo song. Let’s write this real sexy lyric around ‘despacito,’ which means slowly. All the things that we’re gonna do slowly. And let’s do like this lyric where it’s kinda borderline, maybe even double meaning, but just being really respectful.” And I think we found that happy medium, but everything just revolved around that one word, “despacito.”

Once we finished the track, once I did my final vocal, we heard it from top to bottom, and we all looked at each other like, “Man, that second verse. We need to take that out, and we need somebody to come in and keep making this track go forward and just give it that energy thing. We need an urban guy to go there and just kill it.”

We start to throw names and obviously that Yankee was top of the list. First of all, he’s a dear friend, and he’s somebody who could I just reach. I didn’t have to go through the whole record label, manager thing. Second of all, he’s one of the best in the game, if not the best in the game. So right then and there, phone call, “Hey, what’s up. It’s Fonsi, yo. I gotta send you something. I gotta send you an MP3. Check it out. Before you say anything, check it out. It’s different from what I’ve done in the past, but it’s special. And if it wasn’t special, I wouldn’t call you.” So a few hours later, he’s like, “Let’s go.” What do I gotta do and what do I gotta record? Two weeks later, he flew to Miami, we got into the studio and he just killed it. In an eight-hour session we were done, we were ready to go. We send it to mix and it just came to life.

I recorded the demo with my guitar and I played it almost like a cumbia. It was like a mix between cumbia and reggae. It was just the only way I could have played it on my guitar at that point in time. So I didn’t know really where it was gonna go production-wise. I just knew that it needed this movement throughout the whole song. Then I got together with my producers, Andreas and Mauricio, two great, amazing songwriters and producers, from Colombia. They got it right away that we need this urban beat underneath it, but this very musical thing on top of it.

We put the cuatro guitar, which is a really special small guitar from Puerto Rico normally used for very traditional music. But we made it fit, somehow, just to add that ethnic Puerto Rican thing to it. It has sort of a pop melody on top, so it mixes a little bit of different styles.

The song becomes a hit in Latin America and in Europe, and I was talking to my label. I was like, “It would be great to have an American singer.” We were thinking actually more in the lines of in the hip-hop world. Somebody to come in and do something different with it. So we started throwing names, trying to reach out to people, but it stayed sort of in that idea more. We never actually got in contact with anybody. I was out in Europe doing promos, I was actually in Italy, and it was three o'clock in the morning, trying to get some sleep.

I get a call from somebody on my label. Like, “Hey, we need to talk to you. We just got a call from Bieber’s camp, and he heard the song while he was on tour in Colombia. He saw how people reacted, he loved the song, he wants to do the remix.” I was like, “What? It’s three o'clock in the morning, man. I’m trying to get some sleep. Stop messing around.” He’s like, “Can we send them the session?” I’m like, “Why are you asking me? Of course. Send the man the session. Come on.” We had lyrics, the whole thing. We sent him all the parts.

I wasn’t there physically, but he had his whole team with him. And literally the next day, I get the first cut. It’s Bieber singing a new verse at the beginning and singing the chorus in Spanish. I was like, “This is crazy, the fact that he took the time to do this hook in Spanish.” First of all, it’s tough for me to sing, and I’m Puerto Rican. I’m fluent. Because it’s got so much lyrics. It’s so fast and it’s kind of tongue-twisty, the lyrics of the chorus. He nailed it. He nailed it and he did a great job, and I love what he did with it in the beginning. It just kind of fell in our laps and pretty awesome that he wanted to be a part of it.
