ok something that's been driving me insane for a while is I've been hearing people use the term 'uncomfortability' and like. there's a word for that. it's discomfort. you. you don't have smash together morphemes willy-nilly and make up a new word. adding more prefixes and suffixes don't actually add legitimacy. or like. 'comfortability' it's literally comfort there is no need to make up a separate word it serves no functional distinction it's just. head in hands. I know linguistics is ever-changing and vernacular cannot be constrained to prescriptivist terms, and for the most part I accept that. but not. for this.
