RED GUY X MALE! READER
(YES IM KINDA HYPERFIXATED ON DHMIS shut it /j)
(I also hc that due to their little.. situation-- the crew kind of doesn't have a firm concept of what romantic love truly is.)
(And please note this is the first time I wrote a fic for DHMIS. I tried to capture Red as good as i could, so please be easy with me if I got him out of character at some parts. Thats just how I think he'd be showing affection.)
-------------------
In this silly little world, of silly little things; Y/N and his friends were having fun, playing loads of games and playing with strings.
Then the power went out, and gosh, oh no! Y/N was left to sit with Red Guy all alone.
The Duck and Yellow went out to go find whatever source of power they could use for a compromise, while Y/N and Red waited together in company.
The two friends were left together, coveted in the dark, making sure they were close but apart.
Y/N held his knees against his chest, and took a long breath. "You, um.. think anyone'll come by while were alone? Like those.. teachers, or whatever." Asked Y/N, looking up at the tentacle covered man.
"Well, you never really know, do you?" Replied Red, readjusting his position. "I.. I guess not?" Replied Y/N, averting his gaze from his red friend beside him. He out a slightly terrified groan as he looked down at the ground.
"Hey.. on the bright side, at least you won't be alone if one does come along." Red said, in an attempt to cheer Y/N up from his rather depressed look. He didn't want to seem as if he held no empathy for the shorter/taller man.
Y/N widened his eyes, slightly looking up. "Well, yeah.. I know.. i'm just worried about what they're gonna do to me.. or any of you by chance."
"Dont worry too much, besides.. unfortunately, I'll be here."
Y/N looked further at the now averted gaze of his red friend, and softly smiled at the little nervous twinkle in his eyes. "Heh.. I guess I'm grateful then. Thank you.."
A moment of silence passed the two friends, as the shadows still surrounded them, an empty void all around them and tangling them up. Y/N looked down at his lap, and then his hand. He was shaking. Yet he couldn't seem to understand why. Usually he was never this afraid of the dark.
"So, um.. when are you all gonna kick me out?"
"What?"
Red turned to look at Y/N, raising his eyebrow as if he didn't know what he(Y/N) meant by that. Y/N only looked down at his lap again, and his lips quivered as his hands shivered from the sheer embarrassment of asking that question washed over him like a big tidal wave.
"Well.. since you all.. don't seem to like me much, um.. I figured you were.. um.. all gonna kick me out."
...
A second of silence passed, and then Red spoke up.
"Well, we aren't ever gonna kick you out."
"R.. Really?.."
"Yes.. and i.. I don't believe we hate you either. As.. as a matter of fact, I suppose.."
He couldn't help but notice what appeared to be a faint pink form on his "cheeks".
"..I like.. I like your presence. I like.. I like looking at you. I like seeing you everyday. I like hearing you everyday. It's a shame, but.. there's a lot to like about you."
"Wha.. really? Um.. sorry for repeating that again, but, um.. wow. I didnt-- I didn't think you did.. erm.. sorry for interpreting it wrong, my fault."
"No, stop apologizing. You already do that enough.."
"Oh, um, sorr-- oh wait.. nevermind."
The two sat in silence again, for about a good few minutes. Y/N kept finding himself drawing his attention to Red no matter how hard he tried not to look at him. He, for some reason, was like a radiant sun to him. And he was the ocean below.
Y/N sighed. And did something to compensate for what he was feeling.
He then quickly scooted closer to Red. Red slightly glared down at Y/N, and only raised an invisible eyebrow at his sudden movement. He stared down at him like a telescope staring at a star intensely.
"Why'd you move closer?"
"I dunno.. uh.. I guess you-- you make me feel a bit safer. I-- I can move away if you want--"
"No. Dont."
"O-- Okay.."
A minute of silence passed. Y/N couldn't help but feel a gaze every now and then staring upon him, to the point where he sort of began to feel creeped out. He tucked in his knees again, and slightly whimpered.
It was a bit annoying for him to be like this. He wasn't as tough as the others, he was a little too soft in fact. He knew he should have gotten used to the world around him by now, but for some reason unlike the others, he just.. couldn't.
"Hey."
Y/N flinched curiously at Red randomly speaking at him.
"Look at me."
Y/N felt.. uncertain by this sudden request, but he felt it would be impolite to refuse, so he obliged and stared into the soulless eyes of the one whom requested of him do so. He felt his face warm up a bit.
The way Red was looking at him felt a bit different this time; usually his eyes would be devoid of all emotion and filled with endless sarcasm, yet he could seem to see an emotion he hadn't ever quite seen inside those black eyes of his before.
Red raised his hand, and Y/N slightly lowered his body, not having a clue as to what he could have possibly been about to do. He then felt the hand land on the top of his head, but in a soft manner. And then.. it.. began to rub. Gently.
He felt it go through the tendrils and seperate parts of his hair gently. He had to admit, it did feel a bit.. nice. Yet a tingly sensation ached in his heart; what was with this all the sudden?
"Um.. what are you doing?"
"...I don't know."
Silence.
"Do you want me to stop?"
"No-- no.. keep going.. if you want."
He kept rubbing his hand along his hair, then slowly moved his hand to his face. Gently, he caressed his cheek while still staring at him with a longing glitter of emotions sparkled all across. He didn't know why, but he could have sworn he saw a big blush spread across his cheeks, even in the depths of darkness.
"What-- are you doing this for?" Y/N asked, staring at him.
"...I think i like touching you."
"Oh.. uh.. okay?"
He nervously laughed, as Red then moved his arms foward. He then felt his hand go in circular motions around his back, and he tensed, but his body relieved after a second. It felt calming.. but he still couldn't understand why Red was doing this.
After a while.. he felt himself be pulled closer by of course, Reds arms. He was embracing him now, great. But he couldn't deny it, a little embarrassing as it was, it was a comforting gesture. Reds hand went to his back again, and it rubbed in a circular motion.
As for Reds head, it gently lay atop Y/Ns head, as he left his eyes closed in the softness of the moment. Y/N couldn't help but lay his head on his shoulder.
"I don't think I've ever been this close to someone before."
"Is that why your doing this?"
"...a little, maybe."
...
...
"When.. when the power comes back on, you.. you wanna stay like this?"
"..yes, at least until they're back."
He didn't know why, but even in this moment, you felt as if something horrible was going to happen to him. But he didn't mind. He liked being close with Red. And Red liked being close with him.
He.. he liked Red.

↱ HOLLOW . . . ↲
@shmblslw asked:
hiii can i please request "surely it was a good way to die, in the place of someone else, someone i loved." with one piece - ace? please? tysm
pairing; ace x gn!reader
genre; angst
content warning; major character death, one piece spoilers - marineford arc
word count; 1,125
authors note; holy shit, I need to say something....i teared up a bit writing this, i'm not too good with angst but hopefully you liked this. you can find the prompt here
─ ace has a few more words to deliver to both you and luffy before taking his last few breath's.
"surely it was a good way to die, in the place of someone else, someone i loved." he thought one last time before his body met the floor with a small 'thud!'
THIS wasn’t supposed to happen─no.
You were supposed to be the one saving him; not the other way around.
Why….Why did he..?
Your legs gave up on you as you saw the horrifying scene unfold in front of you; Sakazuki’s lava fist successfully going through your boyfriend’s chest─seemingly melting all of his organs as there was nothing left but a hole.
The admiral retracted his arm, making Ace’s body go limp as there was nothing supporting him to stand up.
The world around you seemed to slow down ─ your only focus was the falling body in front of you.
The sound of swords clashing, fist’s being exchanged, and the whitebeard pirate’s screams went deaf to you.
The only thing you could hear was Luffy’s horrid scream of ‘ACEEEE!’ as a blur of yellow ran through; even that was muffled.
Your [eye colour] orbs locked with his black ones; even at the verge of dying, his eyes soften at the sight of you ─ unscathed from Sakazuki’s attack.
Luffy’s body blocked your sight of vision; his dirty yellow vest was all you could see.
You soon registered what Luffy was saying, choking out words as best as he could as he held your boyfriends body in his arm; resting his chin against his shoulder, one hand on his back to keep him steady; making Ace’s face enter your sight of vision.
Pure horror filled your eyes as you scanned Ace’s face, blood spilling out from his mouth and nose.
Yet he still managed a small shaky smile form on his lips; even if he was at death’s door, he was glad he could see you once again.
You snapped out of your small shock, shakily making your way towards Him and Luffy.
Your knees gave up on you once again as you stopped right in front of Ace’s face; Luffy’s back was facing you, you couldn't see his eyes threatening to burst out with Tears as Ace’s face was the only one you could register.
Through half lidded eyes, Ace gave you the best closed eye smile he could muster.
His whole body throbbed, but that didn’t matter.
He had to tell you something before he died, he couldn’t live with regrets after all; if he were to die, which is right now, he would want to tell you that he loved you, then he can die happily.
Ace gave you a signal to what seems like a sign to move closer, so you did.
Raising both your arms shakily, you made your best attempt to hug both of them; your tears threatening to come anytime soon.
Closing your eyes, your hand made it on top of Luffy’s hand that was holding Ace steady; the hand that was in the middle of the hole in his chest.
Hollow, was what you described the feeling to be.
You could hear Luffy’s voice;
“Hey? Can you hear me? Y-Youll be fine, right?” His voice was shaky, seemingly also trying to keep his tears at bay.
“Im sorry...Luffy..” Came Ace’s gruff voice; a bit strained.
Luffy lets out a noise of shock, “W-What are you saying?”
“Don’t be ridiculous!” He raised his voice, shifting his body as well as Ace’s and Yours.
You raised your head to look at Ace’s dirtied and bloodied ones.
Your ears once again muted the outside noises; not registering the voice of Luffy’s shaky and strained voice screaming for help and a doctor.
You could no longer keep your tears at bay as you burst out crying at the next sentence he croaked out;
“..Its no use Luffy, He fried my insides…” He paused, taking a shaky breath “I can tell… My life is at an end..”
“Dont say that..Y-You said you’d never die, didnt you?!” Luffy retorted, having a more hard time keeping his tears in.
“Luffy─” You tried speaking to him but you cut your own words with your sobs.
Ace averted his gaze onto you again; smiling warmly before furrowing his eyebrows in pain.
“If you see Dadan, then give her my regards..” He croaked out.
“I'm sorry that i couldn't see you,” A pause, “Fulfill your dream…”
“You’re my little brother..”
“Was it...good that i was born?” He questioned, your unstable voice ringing in his ears as you snapped at him, “Of course it was you idiot!” You sobbed, “F─Fuck if the world thinks youre a devil spawn, to me, you’re a wingless, walking Angel!” More tears escaped from your eyes.
“Y─You have no idea how much happiness you’ve given to me for being born, Hell If i c─could thank Miss Rouge for birthing you, i would!” Your sight was now blurry due to the tears.
“If A─Anything, i’m glad you were born! I'm sure Luffy thinks so too!” In which, Luffy backs up your statement with a fast nod; accompanied by his sniffles.
Ace smiles at your words, his eyes filled with love and admiration before he opens his mouth to speaks again;
“I..” a pause, “Can’t speak loud enough for the others to hear it..” He starts.
“Old man..”
“Luffy..”
“Everyone..”
“Especially...you..”
“[Name].”
“The very same [Name] that allowed me to feel loved and teached me how to love,” He let out a bitter chuckle, “If….I’m being honest with you…” His eyes moved to your face, adoring your features once again.
“I….wanted to propose to you.”
“...When..? I don't even know, maybe even right now if i didn't chase after that bastard Teach..” He growled.
He let out another bittersweet chuckle, moving his head so he could get a full view of you, “...But with what's happening currently, i guess that could never happen huh..?”
“I...I’m sorry.. I really wanted… to have a peaceful life with you one day, maybe settle down…” A pause, “In one of Pop’s islands and maybe have kids of my own..You know..?”
“Living happily with you and our little family; a family that i...always wanted..”
“..Im sorry.. I didn't listen to you, sorry for all the stupid arguments i had with you..” A chuckle, “..I don't even remember...the reason why i argued with you those times..”
He coughed up blood once again, bloodying your arm but you didn't care, your only focus was him and him only.
“Im sorry...I hope...Y..You find someone better t─than me” He choked out.
“I’ll always love you guys, o..kay..?”
“Thank you..for loving me..!” His voice was pained, but yet, he sent both you and Luffy one more last closed eye smile he could make before his body went limp.
‘Surely..it was a good way to die, in the place of someone else, someone i loved.’ He thought one last time before his body met the floor with a small 'thud!'.

The Arrangement | Part Two- The Meeting
Chapter Summary: It's finally the weekend for (Y/n) so that means its time to meet this suitor of hers...but also the Number one hero Endeavor. Could things be any worse ??
Authors Note: I am so sorry for the late update !!! I have been having troubles with writers block, and a few personal things, but I am going to try and stay in this writing habit !! I am even working on a denki fic !! Anyways, enjoy !
Part One
"(Y/n), our guests are here, come greet them," your mother called from the front room, where you were dreading to go.
"Coming! Just a moment!" You called, smoothing down the skirt that you had bought earlier this week. You took a deep breath, taking a moment to send Maiko a quick message about how you were about to meet with Endeavour and his son.
As you made your way down the stairs, you could hear your father already laughing and making conversation with Enji Todoroki, but those were the only voices you heard.
"Ah, there's my daughter!" He proudly beamed, most likely fake as he was never proud of you...not like this.
You forced a smile onto your face, bowing your head slightly as you approached the two figures. When you looked back up, you first made eye contact with the pro hero.
He was intimidating, somewhere around six foot. Though it wasn't his height, or sturdy build, or even the scar across his face, that made him fearsome. No.
You found that it was the look in his eyes, they held very little emotion as he looked to you. If anything, they were scrutinizing and mean. The same that you had seen in your own father's eyes at times.
Quickly, you averted your eyes, now looking to his son, the guy who you were going to be forcefully placed into a marriage with.
After Maiko and you found out that Shoto was the son of Enji, and that you'd be meeting with him, your best friend had asked her coworker, Kirishima for his phone number, as they were classmates. And the redhead happily gave it to Maiko, who in turn, gave it to you.
You had tried your best to make the first text quick, and explain everything, but the dual haired boy had never responded.
You smiled politely to him. After being able to text him earlier this week, you hoped that Enji didn't know about the milkshake incident, or that you had tried talking to his son. But hey, luckily you were skilled at acting.
"It is a pleasure to meet you both, my name is (Y/L/N) (Y/F/N),"
"This is Shoto, and my name is Enji, but I'm sure you already know who I am,"
You nodded, "It is an honor to have you in our home, Im sure that my parents have already asked that you both make yourself at home here,"
Together, the four walked into the main living room, where Tea and some light snacks were readily made and kept warm by a maid.
Once seated, your mother began to speak.
"Tell me, Shoto, how are your studies? I heard that you attend UA!"
He looked up to her, thinking for a moment, "It's good. By now, the weaker students have been weeded out. I'm actually one of the top three students there currently,"
You perked up, wanting to see how much he'd tell about UA, what it meant to be in the top three, and whether or not it was anything like your father said.
"Really? Tell me more! I've heard a lot about that school, and I've always wished I had been able to attend," you started, but stopped shortly as a hand was placed firmly on your shoulder.
"(Y/N) Now don't bombard him. I'm sure that he doesn't want to speak about school on the weekend, " Your father gave you a side eye, in which you only nodded as a response.
It was silent for some time before you mother spoke up once more, "(Y/n), why don't you show Shoto to our garden, while your father and Enji talk details,"
"Yes mother," You said, masking your emotions with yet another fake smile, holding onto it until you and Shoto reached the backyard, where your mother's prized garden waited.
Upon closing the door behind you, you sighed heavily.
"You too huh?" Todoroki glanced over, his eyes reflecting the same amount of disdain for the situation.
"Yeah...this isn't quite how I'd like life to go," you shrugged, knowing that you didn't really have a choice.
At first, he didn't say anything, letting you lead the way further into the garden, and in the conversation.
"Oh and again, I'm really sorry about my milkshake...and for having to get your number from that Kirishima guy, I know that it isn't polite,"
As he stopped to hold the bud of a blooming flower between his fingers, Todoroki shrugged, "It's fine. No one was home to question me about the stains on my clothes, and Kirishima gave me a heads up,"
"Oh! It stained your clothes! Please let me make it up somehow!" You turned to face him, eyes widening some as you realized that he had been wearing a white shirt that day.
"But I already said it was fine? It's just a shirt, by now my sister probably cleaned it fairly well,"
"Oh…" you nodded once, rocking backwards onto your heels, "I guess that's okay then…"
He straightened out, "We should talk about the rhino in the room,"
You paused, "Uhhh...elephant,"
He stared at you, blinking slowly, then looked around, as if he was wondering if you and your parents had enough money to manage an elephant.
"The saying goes that there's an elephant in the room..not a...rhino?" You pause for a moment, "But uh yes, I agree…"
With that, Shoto nods once, "Correct me if I'm wrong, but you also don't want to go through with an arranged marriage,"
"That's correct…but I really have no choice. I'd be facing my father everyday, met with a wall of un-forgiveness. I don't think I'd be able to handle it," You let out a long sigh, walking more until you found the bench put in by your mother.
He followed you, taking a seat after you had sit down. He wore a pensive look on his face, as if he was thinking about some past memory.
After a few moments he said, "But, it's your life…"
You looked away from him, holding your hand out, watching as you activated your quirk.
Around you, loose dirt and sand raised from the ground, coming together into hard clumps of dirt. As you closed your fist, the shot forwards and fell as their energy died out. You could do this with most organic substances, but sand, dirt and rocks always worked best.
Your father however, could do it with whatever he wanted. Object propulsion was what he had always called it. Brought things up, and then forwards at alarmingly fast rates.
"It's never been my life. If it had been my life, I would have attended UA, I would be in control of how I act and how I want to decorate things. What I say and how I express myself. " You dropped your hand, shaking your head, "As much as I wish to defy his rules, I know that I'd only be a bigger disappointment to him and the rest of my family. I'd bring shame to our name and unwanted publicity,"
He didn't answer as first, as instead, memories flashed in front of his eyes. The sports festival being the most prominent. How long had he repressed using his fire. How long had he resented his own reflection.
As he gazed at you, he could almost see some of the same traits.
"Well, if that's the case. I suppose that by accepting this arrangement, I would only be helping you." He stood up, holding his hand out to you, "In which I want to get to know you better, that way, a marriage in the future won't be just to merge two hero alliances, but so we can enjoy ourselves,"
You faced him, taking his hand and standing up, the two of you now shaking hands for a short moment.
"I'm looking forward to that," You smiled, feeling your cheeks heat up.
For the next half an hour, you and Shoto walked around your garden, taking turns talking about your interests and your lives. He told you about his siblings, and his mother. He talked about his friends, his classmates and his school.
You in turn talked about your best friend, your mother, what it was like at your own school, and your want to have a puppy.
"A puppy?? What kind? What would you name them?" He asked, stopping by some lavender colored roses, which weren't normally that color, but with your mom's quirk, the ability to change certain aspects about organic life, like color and size, made it possible. She always talked about the significance of this certain color but you couldn't remember.
"Any kind! If it was a boy, I'd name him Haku...and for a girl...maybe something like...Kiyo!" You beamed, a little proud of yourself for thinking of names on the spot.
Shoto nodded, never having thought much about getting a pet, but the idea seemed to grow on him more and more as he doted on the idea of seeing you with a puppy.
Before you knew it, both of your names were being called by your respective parents. Their meeting must have finished.
As the two of you walked up, Enji spoke, "The details have been set, once you finish this year, you two will be engaged, and half a year after, the marriage date will be set."
Then your father took over at that point, "From there, our hero agencies will be joined into one, making us all stronger together,"
You caught your mother's eye, she looked a little distant, but still gave you a warm smile, the best one she could afford at the moment.
Together, the five of you walked to the front door, and watched as Todoroki and his father got into their car, and drove away from your house.
You waited until you could no longer see their car before turning and walking inside, your father and mother following suit.
As you turned to walk up the stairs, your name was called once more, it was again, your father.
"(Y/n), do not forget what this means for us,"
"I...I won't" You didn't turn around, only continuing up the stairs and into your room, quietly shutting the door behind you, and sliding down it until you were sitting, knees hugged to your chest.
While the event had been surprisingly nice, Shoto definitely seemed a lot nicer now that he wasn't covered in a strawberry milkshake. And you two even got along pretty well.
But, his father and yours...they'd never understand. To your knowledge, your own father had married your mother to take over her mother's hero agency. Never for love. You weren't even sure if they had come to love each other.
After some five minutes you stood back up, moving to your bed and flopping down onto it, pulling your bunny plush to you, hugging it tightly.
Supposedly, now that the details have been set, you'd be seeing more of Shoto and his family...and that almost didn't seem so bad. Maybe, since you wouldn't be alone in all this, maybe it wouldn't be so bad.
You then pulled out your phone, hitting the power button and watching as the screen turned on, notifications filing in one by one.
There were some from your group chat, and others from the few youtubers you watched, and then a few hidden text messages.
When you unlocked your phone and opened the text app, you of course had a few from Maiko, asking how the meeting had gone, and then surprisingly, one from Shoto.
You typed out a response to your best friend first, recounting how everything played out. From seeing how scary his father really was, to the walk in the garden. You kept having to delete things and rewrite them, trying to make it so you seemed more enthused than you were, though she'd definitely catch on either way.
Then, with a deep breath, you looked to the message from Todoroki.
It read, "Hey, (Y/n) today wasn't actually too bad. I look forward to actually being friends."
At first, you didn't quite know what to say. But as you pulled up the keyboard, you found yourself comfortably responding with, "Hey! Me too! Together this won't be terrible!" And hit send without even a second thought.
Not even a moment later, your phone buzzed, half expecting a text back, you were surprised to see that it was actually a call from Maiko. Well, not too surprised.
"Hello?"
"Mkay tell me everything, and not the half hearted 'it was so much fun' stuff because I know its a lie,"
You hummed, giving a soft laugh a moment later, "okay, okay, it wasn't exactly the best! His dad is really...really scary. I mean, even without the flames sprouting from his face. Not to mention, Endeavour in the same room as my dad?? I felt like the room drained of any good vibes."
"Ah so they didn't pass the vibe check," you could almost hear her shaking her head sadly.
"Oh definitely not, " you chuckled, rolling over onto your back, still holding the bunny, "But Shoto isn't actually that bad?? He seemed really nice...not at all like the pictures or how he was at the mall!"
She paused, "Really?? Because I could have sworn that he was ready to kill one or both of us back then,"
"Surprisingly it's true. He spent like ten minutes talking about his siblings and how they all had dinner the day before."
You both went on to talk about things for some time, passing the time away as your conversation drifted from Todoroki to the upcoming week of school, and the week in general.
At one point, you went to check your calendar app, and was met with another message from Todoroki.
"Ooooh Maiko I have a favor to ask…"
