Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu x Reader- Sick Day (fluff)

So this was originally posted on my old account, greenteaandchildrenscreams, but i deleted that account and i wanted to rewrite this now that ive improved my dialogue a bit so here you go. enjoy <3

(warning: swearing)

You groaned as you got out of bed, your headache pounding with every step you took towards your kitchen. You got out your thermometer, stuck the metal tip under your tongue and waited for its results.

"101.4... damn, that sucks... where's the ibuprofen" you thought. You went into your bathroom and took the painkillers with some benadryl (or whatever meds you take when youre sick) and headed back into your room before covering yourself with as many blankets as you could find and falling asleep.

You were awoken hours later by your phone beeping off the hook. You shielded your eyes from its bright light as you checked your messages (the painkillers had helped your headache but fevers are bitches) and saw a bunch of missed calls and texts from your favorite mafia boss.

You sighed at his lack of response but quickly fell back asleep.

You were woken up again a short time later by Fuyuhiko banging on your bedroom door. You pushed off the blankets that were still on you (you had kicked most of them off in your sleep) and opened the door. The short blonde was holding a large bowl and a tote bag.

"Fuyu how the hell did you get into my house?"

"Peko."

You let out a small laugh, of course she'd be able to get into your apartment. She did work for a yakuza leader, after all.

"I brought some soup and medicine." Fuyuhiko set the bowl, apparently containing soup, down on your nightstand. "I wasn't sure what you're sick with so I brought a bunch."

You smiled. Although he had a brash and intimidating facade you could definitely see his caring side sometimes. This was one of those times.

"Have ya eaten yet?"

"No."

"Dumbass, how the fuck are you gonna get better if you don't eat shit?"

He led you over to your bed. As you sat back down on it he handed you the bowl of soup and a spoon.

"Chicken Noodle. Peko made it."

The soup was delicious, as you had suspected when you heard Peko had made it. You quickly finished off the whole bowl and handed it back to Fuyu.

"Make sure to thank Peko for me. That was delicious." you said as you rearranged the pillows on your bed and laid back down.

"Will-do."

Fuyu got out some painkillers and allergy medicine from his bag. You took a dose of both before once again rolling over in preperation for a nap. You saw Fuyuhiko head towards the door and called out to him.

"Fuyu, wait."

He turned. "What, ya need anything else?"

"Yeah. Can you cuddle with me till I fall asleep?"

He turned bright red, but still walked back towards your bed, kicking off his shoes and getting under the covers with you. You wrapped your arms around him and buried your head in his neck.

"Thank you for everything today. I appreciate it." you breathed into the curve of his neck.

"It's nothin, dumbass."

"I still appreciate it..." you trailed off, but not before murmuring "Love you."

Fuyuhiko was startled by your words but still let out a soft "Love you too." before falling asleep himself.

You two would have plenty of time to figure out your feelings when you woke up.

Fall is here with a gusto! And I’m not mad. And so proud of myself for not tantrumming about the end of summer, but finding contentment in what our summer was. And hello SOUP. Chicken and wild rice was this weekends one. Beefy tomato noodle is up next. (My that name sounds disgusting! It is a good one I promise!)

Despite being mad at me for not going to the library today she did not read a minute in the book she has and loves. Ha. She is trying to teach herself how to crochet - not my thing. You tube and my mom are in charge of this! We did a good housecleaning for the third week in a row- woo hoo- aldi/Costco run. I get to video chat with my besties in an hour. Yesterday I had breakfast with an old coworker during dance and it was delightful to catch up and plan ways to connect more. We went to a park event with another friend and her kids. I want Lou to want quality friendships and this would be such a good friend for it. They are always excited to get together but it’s kind of a dud when they are.

We continue on with all the therapy. Last week I had my therapist- virtual, once a month now. We saw our joint one together in her office, not at the barn. Im still amazed at how well lou connects with her. And then she saw her one at school on Friday. Im supposed to connect with her by phone weekly but my work day was wild so we will do that tomorrow. That is a LOT. And I do think it’s helping! Scary to say but I true. October is full of trauma triggers so we will see how this unfolds. I’m super grateful for the support, work time to flex to use it, insurance to pay. I pay my therapist out of pocket using her sliding scale. There’s a $20 copay when I see our joint therapist alone. Otherwise her state insurance covers it. Miraculous.

hello!!! just wanted to gush about the newest ptmy chapter after reading it 3 times but - wow. im so amazed by how you write touya and your choice to write it fully from his perspective is just so ?;6:!:?:&:):!?& i am in full support!! i love how you show his growth without completely making him ooc, and that whole section with rei was just dgsmudbgdj my heart aches for both of them </3 i feel like theres not enough ff on their dynamic which is so unfortunate bc they actually r really similar !!!! also also did i catch some parallels between rei and how she looked down on touya in her lap with how reader looked down at touya during their first meeting, with the description of the tear?? i might be mistaken and have to reread. Its just. wow. your writing is just so amazing i literally cannot get sick of reading your works.

sometimes i wonder — is it bad that it's so fun to write from this perspective LOL bc i do have so much fun just writing him terribly and angry and aahh idk ! but i think there is some part of it that is relatable in a way, and even therapeutic in certain cases, bc i think — we all have done things or been someone that we look back at and are not proud of. and i think it's a human emotion self defense mechanism to think, oh i'm not sorry i did that or it wasn't that bad or that big a deal or i was justified, while inside it becomes this horrible little guilt we can't ever get rid of. so i think meeting that head on and looking it in the face via touya, that's what makes it enjoyable to me, to write from his perspective. and i'm glad you enjoy it bc then i can keep doing it he he he 😇

and i'm pleased to hear you acknowledge his growth — what little of it there is LOL ! i've said this before, but i always feel it's getting lost, and i'm so happy that it doesn't feel too ooc for him woo hoo ! our baby is trying, please believe me 😫

As an idea, if you have any gym leaders, I guess you could style their executions around the types they specialize in? Otherwise most characters have a special interest that can be used against them, like in the games.

As for how the victims die, there are endless possibilities there! Sky’s the limit (though something like the first murder from the first game is a fun idea, if you’re interested in something like that?)

I’m happy to brainstorm with you should you want my help! I’ve watched play throughs of the first two games, and almost have finished the third one! But that’s only if you’re interested! I understand it’s your fic and you might want to keep it private!

King Steve of the Buttsnacks

Douxie sighed, looking at the children before. Sure, they were good and capable fighters, and he was proud of them, but this? Being transported back to the past, with mere highschoolers? The wizard ran a hand through his hair. 

“Alright,” he started, gaining their attention. “We have been sent back in time. It is very, incredibly, important, that we do nothing here that will mess up history.” He emphasised, giving each of the children a point a look. “We have to tread carefully.”

“Alright!” “Yeah.” “Sure thing, emo wizard dude.”

Not even three seconds later, Claire was pulling out her phone, showing off some of the pictures of her and her friends to one of the knights. 

“Oh fuzzbuckets,” He muttered, face-palming. They were doomed. 

Training with the knights was a lot of thing. Exhilarating, fun, terrifying, but mostly eye opening. It really made him realize how much work it took, fighting and trying to help people. And- the others, they’ve put in so much work, to become people who help others. 

He was wholly unprepared for this. It was a bit overwhelming. 

Normally he was the coolest guy around, and the toughest. He wasn’t used to feeling so… weak. Steve would have to work hard to catch up, and become someone who could stand on his own, and help everyone. To become someone worthy of his ninja-kicking angel, and worthy of his best friend. 

And the best way to do that, was to stick with the knights, and learn what he could. 

Which is how he ended up here, drinking with knights of the round tablet. “It’s alright, Palchuck, we’re in Camelot, there’s no legal age for drinking.” Steve muttered, trying to summon the courage to drink the strange smelling beer.

“Oh, ya talking to yerself, boyo? We all been there! A good drink’ll make ya feel right as rain!” The knight laughed heartily, giving Steve a good pat on the back. 

“This yer first drink boyo?” Another knight asked him, and all Steve could do was nod mutely. 

“Aye, e’ryone! This is the boyo’s first ever drink!” The knight shouted, standing up and pulling Steve with him. “Let’s give ‘im a good audience for his first steps into manhood!” He shouted, and the other knights cheered him on, some shouting for him to chug it. 

“Alright Palchuck, it’s time to be a man.” He whispered, before throwing his head and chugging the beer down, some of it escaping past his lips. He gagged after swallowing it, but the knights were too busy shouting and pouring more rounds of drinks. 

“Here’s another one for ya, boyo!” Someone said, shoving another drink into his hands. 

Steve was on his third beer, and starting to feel it, when King Arthur joined them. 

“Oh, your Majesty!” Lancelot laughed. “Glad you could make it!”

“You know I wouldn’t miss it!” Steve watched as the king pouring himself two goblets of beer, drinking them one after another before pouring himself. “The weekly cheese eating contest is my favorite pastime!”

“The… wha?” Steve looked to the other knights for help. 

“Every week, we have a cheese eating contest.” Galihead explained. 

“And I am always the winner!” King Arthur laughed, finishing off another beer and wow, he was going fast with those. But here was an opportunity to prove himself to the knights!

“Oh, yeah? Well not tonight, cause the Palchuck is here, and he’s the best cheese-eater around!” He slammed his drink onto the table, some of the knights ooh-ing.

“Well, why don’t we make this interesting, then?” The king chuckled. “I am willing to place my throne and kingdom on the line, that I can beat you. And you…”

Steve thought for a moment. “My pursuit of knightdom! If you win, I will, uh, become a court jester!” There was a moment of silence, before the table erupted in noise. 

“Alright. We’ve been meaning to get some new entertainment for the court around here anyways.” With a laugh, King Arthur summoned a servant with parchment and quill, writing out the terms of the agreement. Everyone seemed a little antsy, but Steve couldn’t back out now.

“Sign here.” The king pointed, and after he signed, the king stamped it with his royal seal. “Alright, bring forth the royal cheese wheels!” King Arthur shouted, finishing another beer. 

The wheels of cheese were placed in front of each of them, and Steve grinned. Finally, all that time hanging out with Pepperjack would pay off. 

“On you marks, get set, go!” Lancelot shouted, and Steve started to eat like his life depended on it. Which, really, it did. There was no way he could give up being a knight, not when his friends needed. 

Everything else faded to black, it was just Steve and the cheese. He payed no mind to the king, or the knights, eating at fast as he could. Sweat dripped down his brow from the concentration. In what felt like no time at all, his cheese was gone. 

His surroundings came back into focus, and he looked around, everyone staring at him in stunned silence. The king was only half done with his wheel. He won. 

“I won! I won! Woo-hoo! Oh yeah, King Steve of the buttsnacks!.” He stood up on his chair, forcefully taking the crown from King Arthur’s head. Well, not king anymore. Steve looked to the side, and locked eyes with Douxie. His eye was twitching. Oh no. 

“What. Did. I. Say. About. Messing. With. The. Past?” Douxie hissed out at him, looking like he was about to lunge across the room and attack him. 

“Not to mess with the past.” Steve took out his phone, to send Aja one final message. ‘This is my last message. :(‘ It read. 

“And what did you do?” 

“Became the king of the past.” 

Douxie groaned, slapping a hand to his face. “Oh, we are so fucked.” As he said this, Douxie grabbed a goblet from one of the knights, drinking it down in one shot.

hello hello! many thoughts for you today. first of all, school is starting in a week (wah wah), but im almost done with all the work i need to do, and i'm going to my friends beach house for the weekend as a last summer hurrah (woo hoo!)...what else, let me think. my boy drama persists, which is never fun, but alas. im currently really upset because i thought i'd be able to make it to a svt concert, but all the dates that they'll be playing in my area won't work for my schedule...i really wish i could see them, they've been one of the only things keeping me sane this past year. maybe the sadness is just amplified by the fact that one of my best friends moved away today? idk, there have been a lot of ups and downs lately.

but enough about my first world problems, how are you doing? how is school? i feel like a proud mom to hear that you're applying to grad school, thats amazing! good luck with all of your applications~

shit, three rough things in a row. i’m sincerely sorry about all of them. idk what’s going on with this boy drama, but i hope it’s not taking up too much of your energy. having a friend move away is never easy. will they be too far away to make regular visits? and not being able to see seventeen when they’ve been keeping you sane 😩 have you seen them before? fingers crossed they’ll be back in a year or so…

i’m alright. i’m still not loving my first 8 week course of the semester, but i’m pushing through. it’s the only option lol. thank you! i’m trying to push away all my pessimism, but it’s definitely nerve wracking to pursue something i really want and risk rejection.
