Warnings: Pre-relationship but only just, the two (three?) have been flirting for a while now, Sun and Moon both love you, but this focuses on Sun.

Sun had stayed in his recharge station for just long enough to ensure he wouldn't power down making preparations. Today was a very special day, after all! He wanted to make it the very best that he could. Sure, he hadn't exactly been authorized to look at employee personal records, but with Moon's security clearances and know-how, he'd found out your birthday in just a few seconds.

You still owe me for that, Moon asserted from within their circuitry as Sun flitted around the Daycare, putting up decorations. Streamers were hung across the very tops of the play structures - high enough that none of the kids could reach - and draped artfully from the netting that surrounded the outer limits of the daycare.

Oh, I know, but it'll be worth it to see our sunshine so happy, Sun replied as he went for the tape and a second set of decorations. There was still an hour left before the Pizzaplex opened, so when the door to the Daycare opened to reveal you, Sun was momentarily stunned.

"Sun? Moon? You guys active yet?" You called as you tucked your bag beneath the desk like always. Clearly you hadn't seen Sun standing there holding an armful of colorful drawings made by the kids specifically for your special day.

Why is she so early?!

Calm down, Sun! Go talk to her. Or, turn out the lights and let me!

Tucking the drawings carefully into a bend of the play structure, Sun tried to look normal as he walked over to you.

"Sunshine! You're here so early!" He called as he hurried over to the desk. "It's so good to see you! Even more time together, yay!"

"Oh, there you are. Huh, I thought you normally came out of your charging pod later than this."

"O-Oh, yes! But today's, um..." Sun stopped himself before he blurted out his plan. The lights were still off on the other side of the play area, so it obscured most of the decorations. You looked at him expectantly, but when he was less than forthcoming, you turned toward the wall of light switches. "No!"

His exclamation startled you into turning back to face him.

"W-We need to change a lightbulb above the play area. Y-You can't turn the lights on until we're done," Sun said, and if he had an organic body rather than an animatronic one, he'd be sweating right about then. With a gentle, affectionate laugh, you agreed, turning on the computer monitor so you could log yourself in for the day. "I'll um...I'll be right back. Don't leave! Th-The desk, I mean!"

Before he could dig himself into an even more difficult hole–

–he cartwheeled off toward the decorations, moving into overdrive to get them all hung before the kids arrived so that he could surprise you with them in private. Drawings the kids had done practically plastered every surface, and Sun had even delved into the container of glitter glue for his own art endeavors the night before.

About fifteen minutes before opening, Sun swung down to the desk, carefully placing a half-sun, half-stars wrapped gift beside your computer.

"Sunny? Hun, what is this?" You asked looked up from your morning work with a curious smile. He lunged over the desk and flipped the light switch.

"Happy Birthday!" He cried slipping a little paper birthday crown atop your head.

"How did you...? I didn't think anyone would remember..."

"Of course we remembered, sunshine!" He said tilting your chin up and lowering the register of his vocal processors. "Maybe later when the kiddies are gone...we can play house together. I can be the daddy if you want...?"

The blush that colored your cheeks made your stance quite clear.

I pretty much spent most of the day with Ashley, and was on a call with Mr. Foot ( @480pfootage ) so the three of us could talk n whatnot, so I didn't take many pictures-

the claim that you're a 'pedo and zoophile' for drawing mature art of fictional mutants is such a huge reach,, and with the context of you drawing the turtles older than canon makes that sentence a head-scratcher. how much mental gymnastics did they have to perform to get that conclusion???

if they are smart enough to be NINJAS, and have every function of a human,, enough for them to learn complex combat technique and understand language and all that jazz;; they are basically just humans with an extra step. especially in rise, since in rottmnt they were mutated WITH HUMAN DNA.

tmnt wouldn't have the fandom it does if it was just a show about realistic turtles slowly waddling around the city. imo the appeal is them being humanoids.

you shouldn't have to take responsibility for something that explains itself. you didn't word anything poorly nor make any mistakes in talking about your au,, and with how they pulled up your old art to make fun of, i feel like their attempt to harrass you was a personal dislike they had of you instead of anything substantial.

Since I only hopped on this time train towards the final third of the year lol: fully all the way through, at least 4! Yes I did !!! It is actually the most fan content I've ever made for a fandom since I was in... maybe junior high? So like YUH. Tbh, it's very difficult for me to find what you would call 'pride' in my art so ehh >_>; that being said, I do think that I had a lot of good IDEAS for Doctober (esp days 19 and 28), but my execution wasnt really the best. I would have liked to draw days 17 and 24 (+ time travel day) a little more properly too; like, I'm not as disappointed at how they turned out, but I still wish they were better and/or I could have given them more time. The ones I most actually-tried-and-dont-mind are days 7, 9, and 21 + under the sea dance day. (So many links was probably cheating but tbf I've kinda bent the rules for the past few questions so... whatevs lol). I've ALSOOO still been working on my godforsaken essay, it is 40 pages rn but even tho it's not done, I'm INSANELY proud of it Q_Q

None! B) For one thing I'm graduated lol, but also I'm typically early gang. I'm that person who'd sit in the classroom by myself for like 5 minutes before everyone else would show up LMBO ^^;

I binged both the entirety of Law and Order: SVU as well as Seinfeld this year w my sister; apparently Mary Steenburgen, Lea Thompson, & Casey Siemaszko (3-D) are in at least one episode of the former, while Elsa Raven (Clocktower Lady) and Ricky Dean Logan (Data) are apparently in a random episode of Seinfeld each. So like, technically I saw them, tho I don't distinctly remember it :'D Also, I have been making my way through Little House on the Prairie recently, which has Matt Clark (Chester the Bartender) in a few episodes !

Finally finally finally, I watched I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore (2017), as well as the LOTR trilogy like. Twice? And they all have Elijah Wood of course >:3c

The year in general is definitely "Oh great, the atrocity channel!" LMBO (but when hasn't it been since like... 2020? 2016???). For me personally, I think it's either "I don't know if I could take that kind of rejection." or "Don't talk to anyone, don't touch anything, don't do anything, don't interact with anyone, and try not to look at anything." ^^;

The shadowy light of dawn crept along the wall, painting pictures and drawing shapes reaching out to him. The whispers of fallen soldiers haunted his thoughts, spreading doubts and fanning the flame of self-hatred he cradled oh so gently close to his chest. Names of colleagues long dead passed through his mind. What would they say if they‘d known him? The real him, the one so desperate to prove himself, he endangered not just himself but everyone else’s lives as well. The one so wrapped up in Shepard‘s shit, he could bring down entire countries with the evidence he had from the contracts he took. The real one who, deep down, was a child praying for the Lord‘s forgiveness and hoping to one day see love in his parents’ eyes without having to hide himself.

He took a deep breath and lowered his gaze from the wall he‘d been staring at to look at his scarred hands. There were bruises and cuts from when he escaped the compound back in Mexico. Who knew, maybe he‘d see all of them again soon. The others weren’t dumb enough to believe his little trick. He‘d seen them strategize and plan; he knew they were smart enough to see through him. He regretted it, but there was no use in wallowing now, was there?

He‘d burned every single bridge. His shadows were scattered in the winds, his reputation destroyed and Shepard fled the moment everything went to shit. The only person he could blame for how it turned out was himself. He‘d been too naïve, too trusting and starry eyed. How he hadn’t recognized the general‘s manipulation for what it was, he‘d never be able to reconcile with his pride, with his conscience. So many died due to his decisions. So many had trusted him to lead them to victory, to protect and take care of them.

Maybe this is what he deserved and destiny was finally catching up to him. Maybe his sins finally outweighed the good he‘d done.

Sitting in the dark grey room, back against the wall, he choked back a sob, because maybe, just maybe, there had never been any good he did. He wasn’t able to give the world what it deserved, so he‘d started taking what it didn’t need. Somewhere along the way he lost his knowledge of what that actually was. He got blinded and believed a corrupt patriot who‘s sole focus had been saving his own face and ass, do only what he thought best, consequences be damned. Graves was just another casualty.

He was only an afterthought, a nuisance to get rid of once he‘d outlived his usefulness. Looking back on his life, he noticed a pattern. At this point, he knew it to be the truth. His was worth was determined by how much he could do for others. If he couldn’t serve others to gain something, he’d be just another useless nobody. He took what other people didn’t need or want. He took those unnecessarily high risks, those bets against all odds. He took what others gave him, because they didn’t want it, they only wanted the benefits. The last question left to answer now was: What use did he have now?

hi caelinn, this might be random but i must confess, everyday i go back to “fair and square” because it’s so damn good 🥲 as a self-taught artist who had to leave her hobby behind for study, it’s my comfort fic 🥺 i understand y/n so well and college romance?? academic rivals?? mutual pining?? it’s everything i wanted to read fr. i can’t sit down and read a 20k+ fic without getting distracted but it’s just that good, the first time i read it i was just mind blown (and ofc simping for heey/n ><). anyway, I’ll definitely be looking forward to your future works because you’re amazing at this and ilysm <33

i was planning to keep this in my asks forever because this is so sweet TT have read this sm times since you sent this omg >< no because fair and square is so close to my heart, and sort of has figments of my life because just like you, i had to give up on art to focus on studies :< and i miss it, i wish i could go back but as i said it in the fic, it's all about timing because i kept putting it off and at this point, i've come to terms with the fact that i'll never be able to draw like i used to because i've been out of practice for so long and life only gets busier from here.

actually, i reread it last night when i got this ask and sort of felt like it was confusing / badly paced ( huge chunks of paragraphs why did no one tell me TT ) but it's comforting to know you liked it enough to read it in one sitting :D heeyn are truly the otp although i wish i had written more about yn from heeseung's pov .. but i'm happy how it turned out and i'm happy that you enjoyed it ^_^
