IG lancer combat droids were a type of battle droid and precursor to the assassin droid IG-88. Lancer droids were designed by Phlut Design Systems, who were repossessed by the InterGalactic Banking Clan and their plans adopted by the Confederacy. These unusual droids were equipped with energy lances, intended for use while mounted on speeder bikes.
