I am a proud hindu so i was angry about what happened to kashmiri hindus. but after reading up on it and the history of kashmir in general, one thing is really obvious: india failed kashmir (all of them not just hindus). It’s why I support their right to self-determination. I am based in America and I know several punjabis here who don’t consider themselves indian because their family/community was directly impacted by the 1984 anti sikh pogroms. ig i’m saying india has failed a lot of people (esp minorities) so if we are not from their ethnic group, we don’t get to selfishly claim them or impose our will on them. like i’m a kannadiga and i hate the imposition of hindi in my home state and while this is not even slightly comparable to the violence and trauma faced by kashmiris, punjabis and other groups, i would hate for a non-kannadiga (esp a hindi speaker) telling me how to feel and having the final say in the matter so kashmiri self determination just makes sense to me.

I hope you're aware of what happened in Kashmir to Kashmiri pandits. Pakistan has dreamed of Kashmir since it was formed. That's why they wrongfully attacked India the first time, securing only POK which sadly was due to the UN, and weak Indian political power. Since then, they have infiltrated our country, and approximately 300,000 Kashmiri Pandits are reported to have left the region due to constant persecution from the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) and other militant groups, like Hizbul-Mujahideen (HM). In 1989, radical Islamists initiated an insurgency, fueled by covert support from Pakistan.

The party at the time did its best to hide this, and stifle it as much as possible, this got an ounce of coverage and light when The Kashmir Files was released

Hindus have 5000 years of recorded history with the land, that Islamists claim has “always been Muslim land”. "Kashmir" is literally named after Rishi Kashyap, if you're aware. On 19, January 1990 mosques blared out the infamous "convert leave or die" and finished their mission of converting the entirety of Kashmir to an Islamic state. Our pandits were told to leave their wives and daughters behind if they wanted to escape alive.

They're still living like refugees in their country, and now thanks to the scrapping of sec 370, things have taken a turn for the better.

Many Muslims of Kashmir still retain their Hindu surname. It was a deliberate attempt to wipe Hindus out that Islamists achieved and now THAT'S the free Kashmir they want, this slogan isn't promising actual Kashmiris that were displaced from their homes back, this slogan is furthering the agenda to chew Kashmir off India's map - the one true dream.

A similar approach is taken by Khalistanis, they aren't asking for Lahore, you know, the capital of Maharaja Ranjeet Singh, they're demanding INDIA to give Punjab away. They are funded by Pakistan as well that's why they can't say anything about Sikh treatment in Pakistan. That's why they can't say anything about Gurudwaras converted to garbage bins. You obviously, being far away, aren't aware of what's going beneath the surface, they have vandalized various Hindu Temples.

They take the name of their Guru who sacrificed his life for India, while they stomp on the flag of India.

In theory, I guess it sounds easy to say "Well, disagreements are flaring up, so let's just split and give them their own thing". But this isn't how it works. Compromise and collaboration is how decisions are made in a democracy. This is our motherland, the last time we split was painful as fuck. The only reason India didn't fall apart after Independence is because of the formation of linguistic states.

I lived in Bangalore for the majority of my childhood, and I left 2 years before the entire language debacle began. I don't know if you know, but now Kannadigas are getting violent if anyone speaks Hindi. They demand you to speak in Kannada even if you don't know how.

You're based in America, so I'm not holding this against you, but I'm begging you, please do more research.

this is most definitely a ramble but like. as the daughter of a person who teaches our native language in her spare time and genuinely almost completed her postgraduate masters in punjabi (but she was also moving to england from india so. she unfortunately never finished it) (also for context: on the weekends my mother teaches punjabi to kids. we don't live in punjab, but are of punjabi descent, living in the west), if you speak another language, please for the love of everything ever, keep it alive. because it is so sweet seeing people learn languages and keep em going. i go to work and there's this lovely woman who teaches multiple languages - one of which being russian. i learnt russian in school, and it's genuinely so much fun going in and speaking with her, reigniting my love of languages!

im gonna speak from personal experience rq. growing up i went to punjabi school. i hated it. every teacher was horrible, and yelled at us when we didnt know what to say. i dropped out of it, and would argue with my mother regularly about it. she didn't understand at first, but over time we talked about it. i was at GCSE level, in class, but when actually showing what i knew? i knew less than kids at like. second level classes. i was embarrassed and ashamed, but she encouraged me to learn. i learnt with her, and we got to a point where i genuinely did really well! i aced my exams, and came out with an A in my GCSE! this was seven years ago now, and my mother's been teaching punjabi to kids for at least ten years. i cannot stress how much it pains me to see kids that leave her class happy go on to their next level, sad and upset. they come back and beg to join her class again, because she's like. the only teacher who doesn't berate these poor kids. these poor kids, man. kids who can actually learn the language and keep it alive. literally today, mum was telling me about some kids who are just. so enthusiastic about learning. i truly hope they can learn properly.

and to the teachers. you gotta find different ways of teaching. how are you yelling at kids for not knowing what a garden is in the language? how are you nitpicking each and every mistake without explaining how to fix it, not teaching anything unless someone comes to observe you? it hurts seeing people not even care about teaching such a beautiful language properly, seeing kids who genuinely were interested in learning quickly lose that spark of learning from their eyes, as they're berated, week after week. i go and volunteer with my mum, she teaches and i often assist her teaching, and there's this one teacher teaching across us (the room is like. split so one class is on one side and another on the other? if that makes sense), and i see this other teacher yell at the kids to the point that they're crying. these little kids are sobbing, whilst learning a language that they should be excited, or at the very least, not crying to learn.

im seeing my native tongue die out slowly. punjabi is not really taught in punjab anymore (from what i know). my baby cousin back in india doesn't speak punjabi, but hindi. sure, he understands what i say, but he cant speak it, nor read it, nor write it. this is the language of our ancestors, the language our people wrote and spoke, and it's dying out.

i dont even know anymore, because i cant fault these kids for dropping out. i did too (briefly - my teacher was horrible, and i felt so stupid in her class. my mum helped me get back into learning, and im so grateful to her for it), and i was lucky enough that my mum taught me and helped and encouraged me.

i dont know, this is ig just another one of my rambles. man it hurts watching my language, and the beauty of it fade sometimes. it's a truly beautiful language in my eyes (as is every language, truly), but seeing it genuinely just fade into nothingness is horrible.

CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif Chairs 16th Cabinet Meeting to Approve Major Projects Including Recruitment of 7354 College Teaching Interns (CTIs) Across Punjab

Lahore, 24 September 2024:

Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif presided over 16th provincial cabinet in which the recruitment of 7354 College Teaching Interns (CTIs) was approved across Punjab. CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif sought a comprehensive and uniform housing policy across Punjab. The cabinet paid tribute to the police personnel on performing duty in Rahim Yar Khan and Katcha area. The cabinet approved special allowance for police personnel on performing duty in the Katcha area.

The Chief Minister stopped increasing hostel charges for working women across Punjab. The CM commended Irrigation Minister Kazim Pirzada and the Irrigation Department for no loss of life being caused due to the recent floods. The cabinet approved the issuance of Rs. 50 crore ‘Endowment Fund for Writers Welfare’ under the auspices of the Information and Culture Department. The cabinet, appreciated the peaceful conduct of MDCAT examination in Punjab. It was apprised in the meeting that controversial questions are being raised on the conduct of MDCAT examination in other provinces besides Punjab.

The Chief Minister sought a monthly package plan for the differently-abled visually impaired persons. The cabinet approved a special court for persons with disabilities under the Punjab Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Act. Conditional approval was given to delegate the powers of Sub-Registrar to the Tehsildar and Naib Tehsildar. CM Punjab directed the Board of Revenue to submit a five-year comprehensive housing policy to the Cabinet. The Cabinet rejected the Working Women's Hostels policy for increasing charges by the Women Development Department.

An approval was given to sign an MoU between the Government of Punjab and the United National Office for Project Services (UNOPS) during the meeting. An approval was granted to include Lahore Knowledge Park (Nawaz Sharif Limited City) Bedian Road under the scope of Punjab Central Business District Development Authority. The Cabinet approved the nomination of Member of Gujranwala Development Authority and Vice Chairman of WASA Gujranwala.

An approval was granted to delegate the powers of Sub-Registrar to the transferee of land of legally recognized authority. The amendment of the exchange policy with government land and housing schemes and the reissuance of funds for the upgradation and construction as well as rehabilitation of tertiary care hospitals of specialized healthcare and medical education were approved during the meeting.

The Cabinet approved the request to provide financial assistance for the treatment of Syeda Sara D/O Syed Mian Abu Bakar Kaka Khel. Under the Muslim Family Laws Ordinance 1961, an approval was granted to amend the notification to allow Assistant Director Local Government to perform duties as Chairman of the Conciliation Council. It was informed during the meeting that a ‘Central Portal’ will be set up for transparent recruitment of College Teaching Interns (CTIs) in the government colleges. An approval was granted to make amendment in the Punjab Infrastructure Development Cess Act 2015.

The cabinet approved to delegate leave and pension powers to CEO Health and Education in the districts. The Cabinet approved the appointment of Government Analyst and Provincial Drug Inspector, lection Commission Annual Report 2023 and the appointment of Caretaker Ombudsman Punjab. Provincial Ministers, Chief Secretary, IG Police, Secretaries and other relevant officials attended the meeting.

CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif Apprises MPAs of Various Public Welfare Projects of Her Govt

Lahore, 19 September 2024:

“Establish PHA in every city to ensure its beautification,”Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed the authorities concerned while chairing a meeting of the Assembly Members from Sahiwal Division. She also directed them to restore traditional fairs (Melas) across Punjab, and said,”Administration in every city should encourage and facilitate the local fairs.”

Madam Chief Minister directed IG Police to establish Dolphin force in every city. She also directed the relevant authorities to operationalise cardiology block in Sahiwal as soon as possible, besides meeting the shortage of faculty in Sahiwal Medical College.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif sought a comprehensive plan for the promotion of religious tourism in Pakpattan, and directed the people responsible to complete the construction, repair and decoration of Baba Faridganj Shukar's shrine at the earliest. She also directed the authorities to improve law and order situation in Sahiwal Division.

Madam Chief Minister reviewed a plan for Archaeological Conservation and Tourist Facilitation in Harappa. She directed to set up Model Agri Malls in Sahiwal and Okara. She said,”We are curing the ills of last four to five years.” She added,”Everything is not perfect but it is improving fast.”

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said,”I confess under oath that until today no one has been appointed in the province on anybody’s recommendation.” She added,”Posting in Punjab is being done on merit.”

Madam Chief Minister said,”For the first time in Punjab, a new department is being formally created for the price control.” She added,”Price control committees are being reconstituted to control inflation.” She underscored,”i daily check on a live dashboard rates of food items.” She noted,”Inflation has come down for the first time, it did not happen by itself, rather it is because of our hectic efforts.”

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif noted,”It was considered an unpopular decision not to buy wheat, but it has lowered the prices of flour and bread for the people.” She said,”Increase in wheat price does not benefit farmers, but it makes the bread expensive.” She added,”I am not after public appreciation, but trying to make such decisions that put minimum burden on people.” She highlighted,”I don't believe in government rates, bur check the ground facts myself.”

Madam Chief Minister said,”Punjab is the only province where bread is available for Rs 12, 13 and 14.” She added,”We are facing difficulty in making KPI-based score card for Deputy Commissioners.” She explained,”Deputy Commissioner KPI score card includes everything big and small meant for public ease and convenience.”

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif highlighted,”Administration takes place in the field from 6, 7 am to late night.” She said,”09 lakh applications have been received for the issuance of Kisan cards.” She added,”The cards will be made active in a few days and a loan of up to Rs 1.5 lakh will be available for a farmer for one cropping season on the card.” She lamented,”Middlemen used to blackmail farmers, some farmers even lost their lives due to this torture.”

Madam Chief Minister said,”We are starting an agricultural graduate internship program to advise farmers on best farming practices.” She added,”We will increase number of houses in ‘Apni Chhat…Aapna Ghar Program’. We will give more than 05 lakh houses.” She flashed,”The first and biggest scheme to provide housing loan on just ownership documents and identity card is being introduced.”

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said,”I have prevented from increasing the monthly installment of ‘Apni Chhat... Apna Ghar Program’ from Rs 14,000.” She added,”Private hospitals and surgeons have been added to the children's heart surgery card.” She apprised the MPAs,”Rs 15,000 will be given after every four months to a deserving disabled on Himat Card.” She further briefed them,”Minority cards will also be issued for widows and poor minority brethren.”

Madam Chief Minister said,”Only Punjab is reducing transport fares due to falling oil prices.” She added,”600 roads are being restored across Punjab, the condition of roads in every city will change in a few months.” She noted,”There was no sanitation system in the whole of Punjab, but now the commissioners have been given a zero waste target.” She said,”They are picking up the dirt lying in streets even for the last 10 years.” She added,”Police officers have been instructed to go to mosques for the convenience of people.”

The visiting Assembly Members said,”Inflation is decreasing, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif is doing a remarkable work.” They added,”Pakistan Muslim League (N) is a true sympathizer and benefactor of the farmers.” They noted,”For the first time, people's money is being spent on public projects, we appreciate the Chief Minister for bringing public welfare project to ensure ease and welfare of people.” They also thanked Madam Chief Minister for building roads of Sahiwal Division.

Senator Pervaiz Rashid, Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Information & Culture Minister Azma Zahid Bukhari, SACM Zeeshan Malik and Members of the Provincial Assembly attended the meeting. Chief Secretary, IG Police, Chairman P&D, Commissioner Sahiwal Shoaib Iqbal Syed, RPO, DC and other relevant officers were also present.
