What do you think of Bee-lzebub × Loona (× Vortex?) as a ship?
I think they're so cute! Especially if its Bee/Loona/Tex. I would not be disappointed if that became a thing in canon, but if it was just a platonic Bee/Loona/Tex, I would be happy with that too.
I just want Loona to have a nice big support group. I remember reading some Helluva Boss fun facts and one of them is that Hellhounds have a very tight knit community, and that Loona's anti-socialness is actually very outside of the norm. I figure it probably has something to do with her backstory/upbringing, but I just want her to have people around her that she loves and trusts (outside of I.M.P, of course).
I also love the ship because then we have Blitz who's dating a Goetia (Stola), Blitz's friend, Fizz, who's dating a sin (Ozzie), and then Blitz's daughter dating another sin (Bee), and then his co-workers Millie and Moxie who in and of themselves are as much of a power couple as any of the others. Like??? It just runs in the family, I guess.
#what's the ship name for Bee/Loona/Tex?#i think its really cute tho#definitely ship it#and I just like the running theme of the higher class dating the lower class#and breaking social and hierarchal norms#I.M.P truly does not give a shit#they're a bunch of messes that's for sure#they don't have their shit together#and that's why they don't give a shit#because to give a shit you have to have your shit together#its logic#helluva loona#loona#helluva boss loona#beezlebub#helluvaboss#beelzebub#helluva boss beelzebub#helluva beelzebub#tex helluva boss#helluva tex#Loon x Bee x Tex#asks#anon#anonymous

hi! i really love your designs, the colours are always really well done anf the characters are full of life.. and i love how your rewrites give the characters complexity and make them really interesting to me, much more so than canon(though i am a fan of some ideas introduced there, they don’t quite turn out in ways that make sense to me)! i’ve been wondering a few things about helluva troupe for a while however and hopefully the answers aren’t spoilers, lol.. in HT, what is Fizz’s involvement with the ‘troupe’ and what is stolas’s involvement too.? i wish you much luck on your work as it is lovely to see! (also apologies for my silly username)
Thank You!
Thank you so much that means a lot!! waaAahee! It makes me happy to see people interested 🥺👉👈
With Fizz it's,,, a bit Fuzzy, because hilariously he's the whole reason I made this AU among other things But I ended up makinh him a sorta side character antag again because while originally he was going to be part of the main crew from the start of HT's storyline, as I went along in trying to write I saw some cool hcs about his star clown days and so I thought to use the more canonized view- mostly in that he's a star clown during the events of HT instead of dropping the show life to join Blitz in I.M.P. That previous version is why you see him in the I.M.P references- and hinty hoo that ol version isnt completely null and voice to the current HT
ANYWAY so yeah- While Fizz isn't as much a main character as he was he still has a great deal of importance to the story and themes I want to express in HT. When it comes to him and the Troupe itself, I could best describe him as one of the biggest foils or parallels to the main cast. Just,, he's this golden image that represents their every want fulfilled. For Blitz especially given their thick history heehooo. (That's not to say this 'golden image' is entirely as it seems btw...)
Now it sounds much like canon I know but I like to think I'm taking a different direction with it- It's not really just the "haha you suck with relationships, fuck, shit, pénis im doing better look at my good relationship" nonsense cuz for 1. Fizzarozzie does nOT exist anymore- its Mamzie now 😊 (Mammon + Ozzie) and 2. The themes with Fizz and really most of HT has less to do with the melodramatic romance "will they wont they" of Stolitz (which isnt really a thing either) and more the struggle impoverished and oppressed peoples experience with success, failure, identity, community, family, status, history, trauma, etccc. Specifically, because I am an indigenous person from Canada, a lot of the themes are drawn from my own experiences, knowledge and history as an indigenous person. Though with execution, creative liberties were taken to make the fact they're in Hell clear btww-
That very likely did nOT answer jour question but i amn,,,stoopi 😭😭😭 simpler answer i suppose maybe by chance would be Fizz is an eventual antagonist to I.M.P. Specifics and how it happens and wheNNN?? Im still not sure yet if im honest- been really busy the last year or so and so Ive hadnt had any time or energy to work as much on writing all the things! ;u; thats probs disappointing to hear cuz plaNNing and all is important if you're gonna post story stuff at all,,, but !! I do hope to work more on the story this year so i can wrap up all these floating ideas into a Concrete line of stuff cuz truly all im missing is the middle pieces. Maybe an HT comic will be real this/or next year! 👀🏃
ANYHOOT ONTO STOLAS! i rambled a bit too much about Fizz cuz im still figuring him out- Stolas might be a bit shorter cuz his role is sweet and simplisticerr.
So, Stolas is an antagonist. He and Blitz still have an exchange sort of deal, but the deal is Blitz gets to keep the grimoire for I.M.P if he handles Stolas' "errands" and gives it back on the full moon with ofc none of the uh,,hawny stuff, obv. Blitz kinda keeps this deal under wraps from the rest of I.M.P because for him, it hurts his pride to admit he's in need of some big guy's help. And Stolas is somewhat aware of this. And so, Stolas is this looming, cruel threat that Blitz carries the burden of cuz he's stubborn as fuck whilst the rest of I.M.P remain ignorant.
Some bonus notes that dont really have to do with Stolas involvement with imp but jus how stuff ive changed with his canon influence the story diff than canon; so, Stella isnt a thing anymore. In general the Goetia work much differently- majority of the Goetia being the children of Ozzie instead of Paimon (who is Stolas' sibling now btw too) and the Goetia being thousands of years old instead of fucking 30- Also! While Via is existant she is but a baby instead of a moody teen,, ties heavily with Stolas' motives and how he operates as a character, royal, and Goetian and felt it would work better with how HT Stolas is as a character than it would otherwise.
Also no worries about the username! I dont like canon stolas much either lol,,;
I apologize if this didnt answer much 😭 feel free to let me know if you wanna hear about somn else gwahgh 🏃

The 'Healthy' Couples
I thought of this a few days ago and wanted to put this up but I realized how all the established couples in Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss that are meant to be healthy and stable... become problematic later on. Like, even though it's obvious the two involved in a couple love each other, it doesn't take away the problems that end up forming regardless of that love. So far, I'm thinking of three canon 'healthy' couples so I'll just talk about them. Also, I'd like to give credit for a youtuber named Sarcastic Chorus because I like listening to his videos and I thought he had good points. I'm bound to word them in my own way since I would up agreeing with Chorus
Millie and Moxxie. Yeah, this is the first couple we really followed, especially when Helluva Boss made way, and they became problematic over time. Their relationship consists of nothing more than Moxxie doing big, romantic gestures for Millie, Millie protecting Moxxie from physical danger if she happens to be there, and those two being attached at the hip. And as for the middle thing, yeah, I put physical danger because Millie does fuck all whenever friends and family insult them. I'm not counting the angry glares and dirty faces because it's not like they're actually effective at getting her husband's bullies to stop picking on Moxxie. Finally, it's seriously sad that Millie and Moxxie don't have much in the ways of family and especially friends (a point I wanna bring up while I'm here). For Moxxie, his family is just his parents and one of them is dead. The mafia members only count as family as people who do crime together so no to them. Then there's Millie's family, which consists of a mom, dad, and a bunch of siblings. Except Millie never mentions them both before and after Harvest Moon Festival and she still lets them get away with treating her husband like shit. Then again, it's worse in the case of their 'friends', who are just Blitzo and Loona. It truly sounds sad to me that there's no indication that Millie and Moxxie ever hang out with anyone outside of I.M.P. or even try to. As a result, Loona and Blitzo, Moxxie's daily bullies, are the closest to friends that this married couple has and of course Millie lets them get away with the shit they do to her husband even though it should be less hard with them than with family. If anyone brings up that Millie and Moxxie will lose their jobs, well, there's always job hunting, which neither of them ever seem to do
Fizzarolli and Asmodeus. Since their characterization seems to differ from episode to episode that they appear in - to me, anyways - I think I can sum it up like this. Ozzie's protectiveness makes Fizz feel like he's being smothered and Fizz gets undermined quite a bit. Like how he's insistent on going to the pageant and Ozzie hires Blitz to talk Fizz out of it, I think it made Fizz feel like he can't handle things on his own. Granted, he was written bizarrely sensitive in that episode (I guess I might as well get to that on another post on a later date) but it's like, has Ozzie ever thought about asking Fizz what he wanted before just doing his own thing? Sure, Ozzie pampers him, praises him, and all that, and if Fizz is the kind to let others take the lead, that's all fine and dandy. However, I think that, even if you're the kind to let others lead and take care of you, you still want things. You still want independence. So I can imagine how frustrating it must be that you never seem to be able to really make your own choices. I don't think there's been an instance so far that Fizz was able to do what he wanted without having to debate Ozzie over it or charm him with puppy dog eyes first. Even though Fizz needed to get away from his horrible work environment, especially since he'll definitely have Ozzie by the end of the day, but Blitzo and Ozzie still seemed a little too take-charge of Fizz that it's like they think they can just tell him what they want of him. Really, all this was just tolerable because Fizz's strangely gung-ho for a stressful situation that he didn't need to be in to start with and that Blitzo and Ozzie just kept their attempts at talking him out of it. There's also the fact that Fizz doesn't seem to have anyone other Ozzie and Blitzo so his social life is severely clipped despite Fizz being a celebrity. Really, that's a problem that couples 1 and 2 seem to have, that their work lives and romance lives are directly intertwined. As unfair as it might be to some couples, there's a reason why people don't want relationships between coworkers and there's especially a reason why people don't want relationships between bosses and their employees
Charlie and Vaggie. So this is bound to be an unpopular opinion but, throughout the show, I kept thinking that Charlie was a grown up child who had a babysitter instead of a girlfriend. Charlie never listened to Vaggie on anything, never took her into consideration at any point (barring their fight or whatever in episode 7), and apparently didn't know a thing about her. Yeah, the past as an exterminator angel is a big secret that obviously Vaggie isn't going to want to tell Charlie, but then I hear that they've been dating for three years. Who dates someone for three years and never wonder about their past or their background? I don't mean doing a freaking background check, either, like if someone wanted to adopt a child. What I mean is, don't people who love each other naturally want to know more about each other? Yet Charlie never wondered about that concerning Vaggie before? Then again, when Vaggie tried lying to get out of going to Heaven, Charlie actually never asked why she would do that to begin with. Then it's not any better on Vaggie's end. She got kicked out of heaven, abandoned in Hell, left for dead, so everything familiar to her is gone. Charlie's the closest bit of heaven that Vaggie's got left so that probably makes it that she wants to protect it with everything she's got. Not just protect but pamper and coddle, too. Otherwise, Vaggie might have issue with Charlie caring more about Vaggie messing up the performance of trust exercises than the fact that Vaggie fell on her ass on the floor or that Charlie legitimately behaved a lot like a toddler in episode 4. Even then, their relationship consists not much more than reassurances and comfort from one side to another
It's funny how these healthy relationships still end up having problems once the story expands enough. Really, they just look healthy and it's just on the first appearance of the couple. Like maybe there could turn out to be problems between Ralphie and Martha but we won't know because they're bound to not show up ever again past the first episode of Helluva Boss. So for now, Ralphie and Martha are just a healthy couple because we have only one episode of them to work with
At least I'm happy for these unintentional problems that the writers created for these couples because it means that we the fans can fix them with fanfiction

Antis: The Circus ruined Helluva Boss! They turned Stella into a villain because they wanted to take the easy way out, they madeStolas a baby boi who can't do anything wrong, Blitzo was always an asshole even as a kid for stealing and doesn't care about Stolas at all and Octavia is dumb as shit for not noticing her dad was unhappy with her abusive mother
The Circus: It showed us why Stolas is the way he is and confirmed that he was stuck in an arranged loveless marriage but he's no free of guilt for cheating as he said in his own words:
Stolas: I know what I did! I would feel bad if I hurt you, but we both know I didn't do that.
Plus it showed us that Stolas never saw Blitz as a plaything but as his friend, confirming that the owl doesn't have a imp fetish or sees imps as less.
And no, the writers didn't take the "easy way out", Stella ever since her first apparence was not a good person, even if she has every reason to be mad for getting cheated on, that doesn't excuse throwing stuff (like pots with plants he loves) and people (servants who have nothing to do with your husband's affair) at your husband with the intention of harming him and hiring a hit man to kill him. While she may be stuck too in a marriage she didn't want to and probably has grown in an abusive household, none of that is reason enough to treat Stolas in the shitty way she does. And this was already decided when writing the show before it aired not because the writers didn't like the headcanons of her being misunderstood or because people's dislike towards Stolitz (in some cases being downright homophobic). Don't accuse the writers of character assasination as if you know how a fictional character, who you have seen very little of and being a bitch, is.
Yeah, stealing is wrong, but Blitzo was forced by his father to steal stuff from the Goetias and it's not like he could back off from that by saying no to his father as it's implied he's abusive with his son (he constantly grabs him and defenitly doesn't care if his son could get executed for stealing) and when he does steal as an adult, it's because IMP needs the book to work, he did it for I.M.P (Moxxie, Millie and Loona). And he does care for Stolas, otherwise he wouldn't have spent the evening with him as kids talking under the tree and having consensual sex with him as an adult instead of leaving. And the Blitzo we see in flashbacks is just the not developed version of his character that we see in Episodes 6 and 7. (Flashbacks are supposed to take place in the past not the present, people)
And Octavia shouldn't be held responsable of the shit her mom does to her dad, it's not like she's aware of what truly happens between her parents as Stolas hid it from her and didn't divorce her mother in order to give her a normal life and Stella could have isolating her daughter from what she did to Stolas in order to continue abusing him(which is something abusers do in real life), for example, she wasn't invited to the party of Not Divorced where Stella talked shit about Stolas to her clique loud enough so he could hear. (Only adult married couples could assist, we don't see the kids from the other goetias in the party)

The Most Unlikely Thing
A Stolitz Wedding One-Shot
Inspired by this lovely art by @sator-the-wanderer on Instagram (Link at the end)
(Note: This is my first time writing with Helluva Boss Characters—I was worried they wouldn’t be in character, but I hope you enjoy!!)
Most would say a night like this would never happen. That it was one of the many outlandish and downright ridiculous thoughts that appeared within the mind of anyone who knew them. If you said it outloud, you’d get a quick laugh out of the person you told, then the subject would be changed in an instant-as if it was never said at all.
Moxxie had that thought once. Right around 2AM he woke up from an uneventful dreamscape, and processed the thought with every ounce of his intellect. Even after that, it still made no sense. He turned to Millie’s side, taking a deep breath before he spoke.
“Millie? Are you awake?”
His wife stirred for a moment, a small yawn before she responded. “Yeah, Moxx?” She mumbled.
“I...had a weird thought..” He sat up, running his hand through his snow-white hair, soon scratching the top of his head.
“What was it?” She sat up a little, both curious and worried about what he might be thinking.
“Well-” He paused for a moment, giving the room a good look around before he continued. If a certain someone was here, listening, he wouldn’t hear the end of it. “It’s about Blitz and uh...Prince Stolas.”
Millie’s golden eyes widened as her tail started swishing like a curious cat. Any worry she had was gone, now she wanted to know all the details surrounding this. “Well?? Don’t keep me in suspense!” She smiled eagerly, shaking him by the arm a little.
“So like...and this is just a hypothetical..” He chuckled, smiling nervously for a quick second. “I just wondered for a second...well..” At this moment their eyes were locked, Moxxie’s face now torn between smiling or frowning. He had no idea what to feel. “Do you think they could ever...end up like us?”
Millie tilted her head, raising a brow. “Ya mean like...married ‘n stuff?”
Moxxie nodded a few times. “Yeah, Yeah! Do you...do you think-?”
She put a hand on her chin. “Well...I don’t think it isn’t possible. I mean...I’m pretty sure...excluding their little agreement...maybe they do like each other..”
“Do they though?” He started to lay down again, now staring at the ceiling. “I mean clearly Stolas likes him to the point where he won’t stop gushing over him. But...Blitz?”
“Who knows, hon. Blitz hardly talks about how he really feels. Maybe he does. And maybe one day they will…” The last thing didn’t sound so sure.
Moxxie turned his head. “But?”
“All relationships are complex, Moxx. And those two? Hell, it could take them years before they even think about something like that. But then again…”
“What?”
“Sometimes the thing you least expect might happen sooner than you think.”
Moxxie blinked a couple times, squinting a bit. “Sooo...you do or you don’t think they could-” He was interrupted by Millie giving him a kiss on the lips. She turned the light off next, shifting back into her sleeping position.
“Goodnight, Moxxie.”
Moxxie sighed, slowly closing his eyes as sleep began to cloud his mind again.
He still couldn’t believe he actually thought that. Although it wasn’t the worst thing in the world, it still surprised him no less. But despite how much he just wanted to forget it, it made him think about what Millie said.
It was true Blitz was starting to show a small glimmer of affection towards the Goetian Prince, especially since the rescue from a few nights ago. The concern and sudden display of power through a demonic transformation was enough to make Blitz gawk at the sight of it. And the way Stolas gently cupped his face asking if he was alright afterwards made everyone else in the room stare, Blitz feeling slightly embarrassed by the whole situation.
Yet it still made him think that maybe...just maybe something like that could happen. But that wasn’t up to him. Whatever they decided would leave this idea, this thought, completely within the hands of faith itself.
And with that, Moxxie fell asleep.
———————
Three years ago, it was never spoken of outside of that one night. And neither of the two had ever acted upon such a decision until much much time had passed. But now the stars were in their favor.
The sky was a dark, beautiful crimson that had mixed with a captivating wine purple. The stars were scattered, dusting the sky and turning it into a dazzling display of twilight.
They had kept it small, the only ones being present were close friends and family—which was basically four people. But it didn’t matter how many people were there, or where they did it. All that mattered was that it happened—which had ended up on the roof of I.M.P’s office building.
The vows had been short, with a few important bits here and there; Moxxie having to be both the one to wed them and the best man to the boss himself. He wasn’t sure he had the exact authority to do so, but both explained it was better than having someone else they didn’t know. Because once this got out, they’d have a whole other thing to deal with. But that was a future problem they would solve when it became relevant to them.
Blitz was given a stepstool so he could reach Stolas without having to stand on the tips of his toes. He didn’t want the stepstool, saying that he’d look like a complete joke. But if Stolas had to lift him up for this part, he would be unable to think clearly from the embarrassment.
Stolas didn’t seem to care how many people were present, or where they decided to host the reception. There was only one thing that mattered in this moment, and the smile of genuine compassion refused to leave his face the entire night. Blitz looking up with him while trying to contain himself only seemed to make him smile more. He was adorable.
Both eagerly waited for Moxxie to finish up, Blitz trying to keep himself from falling off the stool by how much he was moving. Of course he stood perfectly still once he heard the last few words out of Moxxie’s mouth.
“You may now kiss—”
Blitz practically jumped into Stolas’ embrace, quickly locking lips with him as the two slowly started to get lost in intimacy.
The four clapped while giving the newly weds smiles of congratulations. But those quickly faded away when they noticed the two weren’t paying attention anymore. The passionate kissing lasted for almost two minutes before Loona had to break them away from each other.
“Hey, lovebirds. Maybe wait till none of us can see you.” She rolled her eyes, putting Blitz down after basically pulling him off of Stolas.
Blitz put a hand on his head, taking a look around. “Oh shit, I forgot we were doing this.”
Stolas bent over with a light chuckle, booping Blitz’s nose. “-and aren’t you so glad we did, Blitzy~?”
The Imp pushed his face away as he blushed a bit more. “Yeah yeah just…don’t make it a bigger deal than it already is..”
“Looks like someone’s trying to pretend he can’t be romantic for once.” Moxxie smirked, making Blitz turn around in retaliation. His face was now a different form of red.
“Well you know what, Moxxie?! You—!” Then he stopped, biting his lip as he put his accusing finger away. “You…did..a good job…tonight..” He mumbled under his breath.
Moxxie kept smirking, raising a hand to where his ear would be. “Oh, what was that? Could you repeat what you said a little louder?”
Blitz shifted uncomfortably, hoping this was the last time. None of this was like him. And in front of his entire friend circle too!
“You…didagoodjobtonight..” He said it louder as per Moxxie’s request, just a bit faster than normal. Now everyone heard him…however-
“Maybe a little louder…and slower?” He leaned in closer.
“Goddammit, Moxxie! I already held back insulting you just let me have this!” He snapped a little, making everyone else just laugh in response. Moxxie put a hand on his shoulder, his smile genuine.
“Thanks, Blitz.”
———————
The rest of the wedding had lasted a couple hours. Since the group was so small, dancing and talking underneath Hell’s strangely unnatural starlight felt more meaningful.
Eventually, M&M had to leave. But they wished the two best of luck, the wedding present they got the only thing left of them from tonight. Octavia and Loona decided to head inside the office to give their dads space. Now that they were legally sisters, hanging out would feel more genuine. Like you had someone else there looking out for you. Loona now was able to shout anything about being her big sister to anyone who tried to mess with them.
Up on the roof, Blitz and Stolas were laying down on what used to be the tablecloth to the buffet, staring at the stars. Blitz had taken advantage of using Stolas’ chest as a fluffy pillow. It was so comforting, like he could just lay there forever and never get up. But then…something did make him get up. He sat and hugged his knees close, his expression somewhat distraught. His eyes turned briefly to the owl demon, feeling strange.
“Stolas?” He finally broke the silence.
Stolas had already taken note of Blitz sitting up. But he quickly sat up when next he saw his partner’s face.
“What’s the matter, Blitzy? Are you feeling alright?” His questions were genuine, making Blitz feel worse.
“Is this…is this what you want? Do you really want…me?” Something in his voice cracked and that made Stolas’ heart feel a strike of pain.
“Of course I do! Tell me, what brought this on?” He held Blitz’s chin in his hand gently so their eyes met once more.
“It’s…It’s just how we started out. And everything after that…I don’t know why it took me so fucking long to actually admit that I…” He paused. “…felt this way.”
“And?”
“And…I didn’t think that you would actually..! You…You said yes.” His eyes started to water. “Why the hell did you say yes?!”
Stolas pulled him in close, caressing his back. “Because I love you, Blitzy…And you being there all those times, even when I didn’t truly feel this way—it still meant something to me. And I know it meant something to you.”
Blitz let out a crying sound, something he would never do. At least, not in public. He didn’t know what was wrong with him, but he just felt so vulnerable now…and he hated it. Stolas quickly responded to this by cupping his face and lifting it up so they were at eye level again.
The Imp’s lip was quivering and his eyes were bloodshot enough to almost blend in with his eye color. The tears were staining his cheeks, big droopy ones making him look like an absolute wreck. He looked even more embarrassed now than he did before.
Stolas wiped some of the tears away with one of his hands, a comforting smile. “Oh, Blitzy…do you think we’d really be here if I didn’t feel this way?”
He sniffed, trying to contain himself before he responded. “No..None of this would be…” He took a deep breath. “I guess I’m so used to pushing people away I never thought you’d actually stick around.”
Stolas gave him another kiss, shorter than before, but something about this one felt even more emotional than the last. Something about this one made Blitz want nothing more than to be with him. No matter what his fears were telling him.
“I love you, Blitzy…” It was the third or fourth time he had said it tonight, but this time it felt deeper.
“I love you too, Stolas…” He returned the kiss, both landing back down on the floor.
It was at that moment they refused to let this feeling leave them. For even though the memory of this magical night would fly by, they would never ever forget it.
End.

Helluva Boss ep 5 and the Stolitz “problem” - SPOILERS
Yes, hello. I’ve watched episode 5 far more times than is healthy since yesterday and now I have... so many things to break down and analyze, TRULY A GIFT!
So I’m going to preface this by saying that I am a Stolitz shipper and I’m not coming for y’all. I’m not even going to criticize the ship, but I am going to talk about some things that I’m questioning and am curious about. So I’m going to put it under a cut so if you want to scroll past this easily then you can.
HERE WE GO!
So of course we start this episode out with the Stolitz content as a vehicle to set up the premise of the episode. We’ve known this scene was coming for a long time, but it is interesting to see what changed about it and how it was ultimately delivered. They played up Stolas being a condescending prick to its fullest in this scene and episode. Which is important - because that’s what he is.
We need to see Stolas as what he is to the story - a ridiculous, thoughtless, and selfish bastard. But it’s also important to note that while he is unlikable, he isn’t necessarily malicious. I’ve got more to say on this later, so put a pin in that.
It’s also important to note that Blitzo isn’t overly bothered by their arrangement as a whole. He doesn’t mind the sex. Stolas is an annoyance, but not this looming master manipulator holding all the cards and leaving Blitzo powerless. This playing field is a bit more level than that and I will also get into that a bit more in a moment.
But first I wanted to touch slightly on what the introduction of Striker does and what kind of perspective it gives us to Blitzo’s storyline.
Striker is shown to be a top tier imp - the epitome of what an imp is capable of doing. And guess what? Blitzo matches him.
I love this shit, because this is what got me so interested in the show to begin with. Blitzo isn’t just some loser trying to succeed at something that’s out of his depth. He’s actually excels at what he does, and starting his business was an ambition that very few imps share. His struggles come from not being given the resources nor the full understanding on how to run that business because they were unavailable to him. His confidence comes from over compensation and when a premiere imp like Striker points out that what he’s doing is impressive, well... look at his reaction. He has to run that over through his head to remind himself that Striker’s right - because so many people have disregarded him simply because he’s at the bottom of the hierarchy.
This episode introduced just how that hierarchy affects Blitzo directly, his perspective, and what he feels he has to do to rise above it - all within the close proximity of Stolas, who has the privilege of being virtually unaffected by it. At least, from where Blitzo is standing.
Because we already have hints from episode 2 that that isn’t entirely true. Stolas, while being an insufferable and selfish prick with the social graces of a potato, has his own cross to bear with his status.
This was very important to see.
Stolas speaks with the grandeur he’s entitled to while Blitzo speaks with the worth he feels he needs to prove.
But what does that mean for them as a whole?
Stolas isn’t the threat. He’s an obnoxious necessity that Blitzo exploits for the sake of his business. The threat is the system that works against Blitzo running that business. But we also learn that Stolas isn’t Blitzo’s only avenue. He’s just the easiest.
Blitzo even says so himself when he stops Striker from killing him.
Without Stolas, Blitzo would have to find and use other ways to run his business. He’s not above doing it, and he’s not incapable of doing it - he just doesn’t really want to. This clarifies once and for all...
Blitzo is using Stolas just as much as Stolas is using Blitzo.
Blitzo has his own game that he’s playing and he knows he’s good at it, and in some sense, from how he reacts to Striker, he’s a bit proud that he’s got it.
But that doesn’t mean he isn’t resentful.
And that resentment doesn’t even fully rest entirely on Stolas and their deal. It seems that Blitzo is more bothered by the fact that he can’t just run his business on his own merit, just because of who he is.
So why didn’t Blitzo jump at the chance to work with Striker?
I think it’s natural for shippers to gravitate towards the idea that he ultimately refuses because somewhere he has feelings for Stolas. That little pause though as he looks on to see Stolas on stage with a crowd of imps watching him makes me think there’s more to it than that.
Because there’s no sure fire way to tell right now that Blitzo 100% knew that Moxxie was there. His heckling of Moxxie could have easily been a cover for him changing his mind. But why would he if not for feelings of Stolas?
Easy. He cares about what Moxxie (and Millie) would think of him if he were to team up with Striker. He prioritizes what they think of him over his own feelings. Not to mention the fact that if he left behind I.M.P., they would be fucked.
While Blitzo would love to be able to prove his worth in a society that deems him worthless, he cares about the well being of his chosen family more.
I think we’re going to see more of this, and I think Stolas has a lot to prove to Blitzo to gain his respect. Though, that slight panic at the suggestion of them being boyfriends sure was... interesting.
Anyway, I have so many more thoughts and I would love to discuss them. What are your thoughts?

{☠} Given Loona's line of work, the bloody corpse cradled in the pup doesn't even make her bat an eyelash. She's certainly seen worse...some of which she may or may not have caused. If it weren't for the woman's heartbroken son, she wouldn't have given her a second glance.
Something about the way the pup continues to cling onto the cold, lifeless body simultaneously infuriates Loona and tugs at her heartstrings that she wasn't aware she even had. Why won't he accept the terribly executed comfort she's failing at giving him?
Loona knows getting close to Jack could be risky (although she's unaware of how risky this truly is). Knows that she couldn't come close to filling the paws of the pup's deceased mother (and she's not sure if she'd even want to). Knows that he might never form a bond with her (and she wouldn't blame him).
Does Loona give a shit?
No.
Once the pup finally lets go of his mother's body, Loona engulfs him in her arms. It isn't long before he's picked up, held close to her chest and cradled in her arms like a baby.
"You have no choice, buckaroo. Like I said, you're stuck with me...and I mean it."
Unfortunately for the forlorn pup, Loona is stubborn and WILL get what she wants...and she's going to take him under her wing.
Already carrying him back to I.M.P headquarters (she's going to have a fun time explaining why she was late for work), Loona figures that she might as well familiarize herself with the pup she's adopting protecting.
"What's your name, buckie? I'll need to know what to call you, unless you like my dumb nicknames." {☠}

{☠} Loona never really considered herself the motherly type. Not like she had anything to go off of.
As a pup, Loona was completely alone. The closest thing she had to a biological family had been out to get her the moment she was able to walk. She doesn’t have fond memories of her mother. Hell, she doesn’t even know what she looked like. The only parental figure she has is Blitzo and Moxxie, though she’s trying to keep herself emotionally distant to prevent herself from ending up like…this.
Seeing the vulnerable pup holding his mother’s limp form…Loona feels compelled to stay. There’s no way in Hell she was going to force him to handle his pain on his own.
“I’m not leaving you.”
Hesitantly, Loona presses her nose against Jack’s shoulder. She’s not the best at comforting people and this is probably really awkward, but she hopes that he’ll at least appreciate the sentiment.
“You’re going to be stuck with me whether you like it or not.”
Loona isn’t adopting this pup. She’s just…keeping him safe. God knows that he’ll probably meet the same fate as his mother if he doesn’t have some form of protection.
“Do you have a place to stay? Blitzo doesn’t give a shiiiiiiiz if you stayed with us.” {☠}
{ ☆ } Eyes are squeezed shut, fresh droplets streaking down his already dampened face, fur matted with blood and tears, not ALL of which are his. Nose buried in his mother’s fur, he desperately tries to breathe in the last lingering remnants of her scent. But all he can smell is the reek of death… The bitterness of blood and the salt that stings the wounds littering his own body. Not that it really matters. Nothing does, anymore. They’ll be gone soon enough… He faintly hears the other canine’s response, hold on his mother only growing.
It’s surprising and under normal circumstances, Jack would be taken aback by it. But these circumstances AREN’T normal… and right now all he can think about is the person who left, not the one who is choosing to STAY. Flinching when a nose presses against his shoulder, fur bristles with unease— face hiding against his mother’s body —before he slowly relaxes… Fur laying flat as he shakily swallows a lump in his throat, grip on his mother’s fur is tight, hands trembling as they grasp light fur. What used to be a soft, delicate color, now stained and turned a sickly-pale instead. She feels so cold… but Jack just nestles closer.
Honestly, he doesn’t know if he likes having the Hellhound around. He doesn’t have the best experience with them, and despite this one’s confusing behavior… certain memories are hard to shake off. Besides, he doubts that she’ll stick around for long. Once she finds out what he is, discovers what kind of things happen to him— his mother’s form is clutched tighter —what kind of things he brings. She’ll leave because there’s no reason WHY she should stay; nothing in it for her. Nothing worthwhile. It’s best not to risk getting attached.
For both their sakes.
“I don’t need a place to stay.” Jack mumbles, voice devoid of emotion and gaze downcast as he finally separates himself from his mother’s body. Moving away, caramel hues flicker over to her for a moment, dull and listless despite the horrific sight— appearing more forlorn than nauseous at the gore… although, that isn’t too peculiar in a place like Hell —before lowering to the ground once more. Resting his back against the wall of a decrepit building, he hugs his knees close to his chest, resting his chin atop of them, “I’ll be fine.”
It’s literally impossible for him NOT to be, despite how much he wishes that wasn’t true.
“Trust me, you don’t need to worry.” Who needs a safe place to stay? Food to eat? Someone to care? He certainly doesn’t… No matter how cold he might get, how sick or hungry or weathered or beaten or- No matter what, he’ll continue to persevere. To exist. Feeding him is a waste of supplies in a place where one can’t afford to. Yet his mother insisted that he eat. Tattered blankets and whatever meager shelter they could find would be better spent on someone else. Yet his mother refused to let him sleep out in the open. Everything Jack was given, he shouldn’t have been. Everything to make his life even a bit better…
“… Please just go.” All a waste. { ☆ }
