I'm suddenly faced with the fact that Google really is not how it used to be because it can't direct me to a site explaining "why do some Norwegian knitted hats have tassels on top?"

Google tricked me by showing there's 10 pages worth of sites I could go over. Yet, when I clicked 'Next', the number of pages went down to 3 and none of the sites explained the point of the tassels.

It's asking me if I mean 'pom-poms' or if I want to learn to knit. No, Google, no. I just want to know the history. Educate me. 😭
