legit, it is really funny some people characterize Antoine as like this like naive and innocent ingenue type when every single sentence that man says proves him to be someone who knows exactly what kind of suffering and despair is in the world and because he knows is choosing joy and hope on purpose, and also sometimes mischief

#yes he's constantly needing to be rescued from the trouble he gets into but that's not really the same thing #I've made like 40% of the posts in the Antoine tag and read fic so I see a lot of how people think of Antoine and truly like #he is well aware of what is out there. he's doing it on purpose.#also he comes across very grounded in his cheerfulness and very pragmatically aware of what he's betting on when he chooses to be hopeful #he isn't without grim determinations and steely resolves. he knows what his task is as a Warden and how difficult the Blight is to fight #DATV things
