Höllvania's national flag sure is interesting to look at.
It's displayed nearly everywhere in the tileset (heck, even on some of the manholes!). We players have already seen it first in the subway section in Whispers in the Walls and in the Höllvania Central Mall (on the floor, nearby the sliding doors to the Atomicycle/parking area). I wonder what is depicted on it means within the setting's context.
(personal musings under the cut)
The Sun-headed figure seems to be a lady. She has a noticeable slimmer build compared to her "partner" (for the lack of a better term) and wears a full length gown/dress with a mantle draped over he shoulders. The Moon-headed figure appears to be a knight. Now, I'm not entirely sure whether it's meant to be female or male, but they're definitely a knight! They're holding a Medieval great helm in one arm, wear some armor (visible on the ankles and feet) and a cape. Interestingly enough, the crescent used for their "face" represents the waning crescent Lunar phase. Both figures hold a Skana. The same sword often seen used by the Excalibur frame...As well as Arthur in 1999!
The first thing that immediately pops up in the mind is the concept of Dualism, and how important it was for the Orokin. The Sun and the Moon are are amongst the oldest, most ancient pair of "opposites" since the dawn of humankind. Different cultures of the world have, at various points throughout history, given different interpretations about them. Even from a linguistic point of view!
For instance, in Greek mythology (and Roman mythology by extension) the siblings Apollo and Artemis Diana for the Romans are the Sun and Moon deities, respectively. In Greek (ancient and modern), Latin as well as Romance Languages i.e. descended from Latin; like Italian, French, Spanish, Portoguese and Romanian "Sun" is a male noun, whereas "Moon" is a female noun. In other mythologies, religions and languages, however, the roles are swapped. Therefore you have male lunar deities and female solar deities. And then you have the linguistic wildcards where either one or both become "it" still linguistics-wise asdfghjkl (IMPORTANT NOTE: I could add TONS of examples here but, for the sake of keeping this reasonably "short" lenghty, I won't)
Now, in different moments in the TennoCon 2024 demo as well as the released 1999 demo, we can hear characters invoke the name of Sol. Arthur says "Sol help us if these end up Infested" about some games in the Arcade, during the TC2024 demo. Also Zeke (only heard), a few moments before the Technocyte Coda introduction. "For Sol's sake man, don't take this out on me!" (not sure I remember this one 100% right, though) I assumed it was a figure of speech at first (again, given this is not the real world/"Earth in 199 is not quite like ours" to semi-quote DE Reb) but...maybe it is not, after all? Which ties to this other point that caught my interest. (thanks, WF subreddit) There are posters mentioning curfew and authority being given over to Scaldra's Major Neci Rusalka, found in the tileset. They are signed by "the Sublime Majesties". Does this imply Höllvania is ruled by two rulers/sovereigns? Are they a king and a queen? Siblings? Perhaps a brother and a sister...or two sisters, even? Because if it turns out to be the latter...On this side of the Origin System we have the Grineer Queens, aka the Twin Queens. I don't think this is merely a coincidence. Last but not least musing, because who knows, maybe this, too, was thrown in there...Ngl, the first couple of I saw the figures in WitW/the mall my brain automatically went "Wait, are those two meant to be Operator and the Drifter?" Once more, another pair of "opposites". Then again, even the arrangement on the flag reminds of the Moral Alignement thing we've got in-game. Everything seems to be tightly connected to many things in Warframe. (which is why I love the game so much and all the small details added in each and every major update are a FEAST for my own curiosity)
That said, I'm really looking forward WF 1999 and all the things it will bring. >:)

I got tagged by @h3adph0nez for this song game!! Thank you!!
POST 10 SONGS THAT YOU WISH YOU COULD LISTEN TO FOR THE FIRST TIME ALL OVER AGAIN, AND SHARE
First and foremost: the song I've listened to the absolute most this year, the song I most closely and cathartically associate with my old religion and the stuff I've learned about it since leaving- Suburbia Overture!!
When I was a little kid I was taught that you'll always be with your family if you get to heaven- but to me that meant didn't mean immediate family, that meant my entire ancestral line, and if they're all gonna be with their entire family too, then heaven MUST be some sort of massive suburbia. When I first listened to this song I needed to sit and think for a little bit, then I proceeded to replay it for... ever. I think I've listened to it multiple times a day since then.
NEXT SONG and there won't be so much backstory for the rest of these lol
Gender and gender expression exploration vibes, I like listening to the demo version too :) there might be a lot of Will Wood on this list
Found it during my emo phase in freshman year of highschool, listened to it again recently for the first time in a while and I almost cried AGAIN. Not gonna put it on this list but I can't listen to MCR's The Light Behind Your Eyes because it makes me feel an unhealthy amount of Grief. Honorable mention though.
Such a pretty song. So full of longing to pause time and stay in a moment forever
Goofy and uplifting and comforting :) 'I'm not behind I'm at my own pace' type of feeling
2 NSP songs!! This one is just goofy and fun to sing but damn you Danny Sexbang for having a voice range that goes higher than mine
Without the plot context it's a very sweet and sad song that encapsulates the love I feel for my little sister (who is on her Mission now) and the struggle I have voicing that love and being open with her. Multiple times we'd be singing show tunes in the car while I'm driving and I have to skip this one or I'll start crying
Fucking ow. This song makes me think of my roommate and their loss of their mother but how do you give someone a song like this. How do you tell them "I cried for your grief" One specific line of lyrics was the last words they heard from their mother.
Love a song that I can alter to match my vocal range PERFECTLY. It's been on repeat in my brain for the last week
Will Wood rounding out the end of it, this song was on repeat as I was driving to my ADHD test because I was so anxious if this would be the one that I get diagnosed in. It was!! Also just really fun to sing and within my voice range (thank you Will Wood for almost perfectly matching my voice range)
Here is where I'll tag a few people, no pressure to participate at all! Descriptions are also not necessary I just have a lot of Feelings and Thoughts about the stuff I listen to lol
@pacificroses, @nepheloid, @chaotic-murder-gremlin, @gohavefun, @knittypicky,
