Google how do you draw faster without losing quality--
#Giving myself the bad feels because I want to draw more often and stuff but#my art takes me so long and takes so much energy ;~;#I wish it didn't...#I miss being able to draw nearly every day#I wish I could draw fast#aaaa#My brain was made for words not for art#I think like that's kind of the trade off#I think in words and most people think in images and pictures apparently#I have to actively TRY to get a picture in my head and tbh it often is only very brief#Compsition was really hard for me before I started using my 3D models#then I could tweak the poses until it felt right and THEN I could draw#But posing is also like#kinda hard???#it's tedious I think#I might look up how to make different hand poses and stuff just so that's not like#something I have to fuss with every time#like if I make a hand pose and save it then I can reuse it#that kind of idea#Hands are always really annoying and hard to pose so that would probably be for the best#at least it'll speed up posing#I might also make some generic poses like walking and running#just bases to work from to make more unique poses for art pieces#Anyway long story short#I'm a slow artist because I'm a fast writer#that might just be something I need to live with#And I need to find ways to short cut the process for art so it's not nearly as miserable to draw for me#I've been kind of tempted to try out making 3D models of all the characters I want to or like to draw#And use special methods to just use that to make line art for drawing because boy can I NOT be fucked to do line art#I've been kind of wanting to get more into 3D stuff lately too so idk

Hey, Alex! Quick question, I saw your neopets post, and was wondering if the neopet site, as of today, is nice to play with.
Like, I´ve always thought of creating a new account (had one wayy back then), and all, but hearing about the fucking NFT shit, and how buggy half of the features where kinda discoraged me.
But seeing your post made me wonder if the new owners are improving the site experience, or the site wasn´t half as buggy as people said it was.
Yes!! I'd argue the site has been more nice to play with lately than it has been in the last couple of years since flash went under.
Funny thing about the NFT shit; TNT had nothing to do with it. TL;DR one of the og creators got obsessed with crypto shit, pissed his pants when no one wanted to do NFT shit, dipped, and now Neopets is independent and mostly owned by one of the other og creators who ISN'T a weird cryptobro. They've also stated that they have more resources, funding, and intend to take Neopets 'into a new era'.
So far, 'into a new era' has meant a restoration of many flash games and features (not all; it'll be a long while before everything is converted, but for most players only a few dailies are inaccessible and the site is still 95% functional), updating the home page and other areas of the site with a new mobile-friendly look (I'm kinda ambivalent about this but I get why they're doing it... and I have to admit I like the new themes), implementing a new plot event (I think it just ended but also looks like they aren't quite done yet, I'm excited to see what happens next) and... they apparently plan on making some kind of 3d game? Idk but for a while now they've been consistently updating and fixing and adding things people have wanted for a long time and seem to actually be listening to the community. They've been doing Q and A's on their official youtube channel, too.
I won't lie to you, though, the site IS still buggy. Always has been. I wouldn't say any bugs I've run into have hindered my experience overall, but they're there. But I might just be more forgiving of bugs than most as a fnv player lol. You *probably* won't really run into any yourself though, right now the only current bugs I can think of are the Wishing Well not updating and a couple minor bugs with the new plot event (tbf plot events are a live thing and they usually have a bug or two, this isn't new).
One last thing; going back to it for the first time in a long time will probably be jarring no matter what. Most of the site still has that classic oldish web look to it, while stuff like the front page and your inventory is in a totally different style. All I can say is you'll get used to it, but it does feel weird at first. Other than that, I can't really imagine a new account running into anything that would deter them from playing. Most of Neopets is the same as it's always been, for better or worse, and what isn't the same has mostly been a welcome change.
If you DO make a new account hmu btw I'll give you some free stuff and neopoints to start out with, I love helping newbies and returning players :3 Also lemme know if you have any other specific questions, I love talking about neopets sm

hello tumblr user andrewsrabies i've been having some jeaneil thoughts lately 😭 anything to share w the class 🙏
hi tumblr user daystens let’s talk about my random jeaneil hcs
neil gifts jean a pair of bright socks with cutesy cartoons on them as a joke but jean unironically loves them so neil buys him a shitload but just stuffs them in jeans drawer and never admits to buying them. they don’t talk abt it.
they actually do this a lot.. like. they will never admit it but taking care of each other quietly and without wanting for thanks is their love language. neil likes to cook for jean, he mealplans for them, leaves him baked gifts on the counter for jean to wake up to when neil has already left for class/work. jean likes to buy little trinkets and knick knacks for neil bc neil is at a place where having more things is grounding more so than anxiety inducing. it helps remind him that he takes up space in the world and that it’s okay. neil is particularly fond of 3D puzzles
i wanna think that in a world where they weren’t hurt quite as much and where touch doesn’t almost always hurt they like to wrestle. they are just dumb boys with stupid jock disease. it always starts out as like,, footsie or even just little shoulder nudges but neil can and WILL climb jean like a tree or attempt to suplex him. jean is too competitive for his own good, ESPECIALLY when neil is involved. it does not matter when or where. in jeans dorm? jeremy is terrified. in a restaurant? just another one they’re banned from. on the sidewalk? campus security knows them by name.
neil likes it when jean lays on top of him. the weight is just... nice and grounding. it works for jean too because after a long day he can always look forward to coming home and immediately flopping on top of neil, letting his muscles unclench one by one as neil strokes down his neck and back, carding fingers through his hair and tracing along his ears. jean likes the quiet rumble of neil’s chest as he hmms along to jeans rant about why his day was specifically terrible (in a post canon setting, jean relishes in being able to consider getting drenched from the rain, getting a B on a test he studied hard for, and rude, snappish people as a reason for his day to be terrible. it takes a while, and there’s days that even the thought of doing such makes him hate himself, but usually it’s just proof of freedom)
they are terrible at singing. TERRIBLE. THE BOTH OF THEM. but that doesn’t stop them from serenading each other in french, giggling all the while and holding each other close to sway to the song that they’re making up as they go
they have too many inside jokes. their texts are indecipherable.
chaotic. sometimes just the sight of them standing together gives kevin a headache.
they tune everyone’s opinion of them out. a common opinion is that neil is too mean, too blunt to jean, that jean lets neil get away with too much and is too flippant about everything in life. neil’s lack of sugar coating helps jean the most though, helps him see straight and come to the present when things get overwhelming. jean is organized but has recently started carrying a more casual air around him that reminds neil that if he takes a breath, if he takes a break, he isn’t going to die
jean has all of his keys painted. his closet is filled with bright clothes. his phonecase is layered in stickers. he likes color. neil is impartial to style but loves to steal jeans clothing, so they’re kind of walking disasters. jean is can kind of pull it off and knows a little about matching clothes together but neil just cannot be bothered. jean likes to dress him up whenever neil lets him, though.
they do a lot of crafts and are kinda bad at them but it’s stress relieving nonetheless and they proudly display everything throughout their apartment. their crocheted blankets are kinda lumpy and the colors aren’t perfect but they’re neils favorite. the kinda leaky mugs neil makes arent really usable but jean adores them anyways and uses them in any way possible (other than drinking from them). jean likes to paint things around the house just to make it brighter. neil knows jeans fondness for colorful things so whenever he sees something particularly bright and eye catching, he’ll buy it for their apartment. jeans favorite thing so far is a five inch tall multicolor and glittery walrus statue. it’s on their living room mantle. andrew despises their apartment and has only been in it once.
touch becomes really important between them. little touches, fingers brushing napes, intwined pinkies, ankles resting against each other, a nudge of a forehead against a shoulder. the bigger touches are important too. they make time each day, on good days when touch is good and doesn’t make their skin crawl, to just feel each other, whether it’s cuddling on the couch, jean giving neil a foot massage, or taking the time to wash each other in the shower and rub lotion into each other’s skin afterwords
erm idk if u can tell but i am feeling v soft for them rn :,) pls talk to me more about jeaneil... tell me if u want more angst or fluff i have many ideas about both

I've been playing Tomb Raider III so much lately and here comes yet another post about these games sorry not sorry---
Yesterday I got to the final levels of the game and there is something. Interesting about these games I would have never expected from Tomb Raider games. Like, I did not play these games as a kid, I was never that interested in the whole character and I haven't seen any of the movies. I always knew that the character exist, and I knew who is Lara Croft and what/who is Tomb Raider. But only on the surface level as I wasn't interested enough to know more than that.
So, a few years ago I was playing Assassin's Creed II and these games also have these sidequests etc. where you have to do all kinds of climbing and parkour, sometimes in old tombs too. And it was fun and suddenly I had the thought "wait but... I wonder if Tomb Raider games are anything like these quests?" and then looked them up from Steam, and read a bit about them. Eventually I ended up buying all the old games + the first part of the newest(?) reboot.
The first two games were not that exciting. Rather made me nervous because it takes a bit of time to get used to enemies spawning randomly when you cross one trigger spot of a floor/area or whatever, and I still can't explain what is it with this third game that makes it so fun to play that I start seeing ledges and stuff even between these Tumblr texts when I'm not even playing it. I feel like I finally found my confident and understood how the enemies work in this game, and how they are not actually that difficult to beat and I was afraid of them for nothing.
Talking of enemies - this is actually what I originally wanted to talk about. You see, these games have lots of "normal" enemies like hostile animals and bad guys. Shooting the animals is always a bit sad and I'd rather not kill animals in any video game, but unfortunately in these games there is no other option cos they WILL kill Lara if you don't kill them first... but this is where it gets weird and what I meant with me never expecting something like this from these games before I started playing them.
This game already featured dinosaurs, and UFOs and aliens. And like, yeah, nothing new since there are plenty of movies/books/games about dinosaurs existing on an island somewhere, let alone about aliens. Even Indiana Jones movies have had aliens added in the mix!
But back to Tomb Raider games because sometimes these include just the weirdest fucked up shit imaginable. Sometimes these games turn from an action adventure puzzle platform to a straight-up horror game. These last levels just introduced some fucking... human science experiment hybrids. They are like men but they have a slug body, they breathe out toxic gases, are animal-like and just crawl around the place. They look so disturbing, and it's just. I don't know, it's just so disturbing to look at them go. These have some serious The X-Files vibes there!
But the previous games are not any different. The Atlantis levels included some fucking, idk, mummies or so. They looked like huge mummies or centaurs except that they had no skin. So basically as if some really tall monster humans without skin were running around. I think what made them even more disturbing was the 1996's graphics. You can't really make anything with today's graphics and have it look as disturbing as those pixel monsters with 90s 3D models. Just disgusting.
Yesterday I found myself (or Lara) in a place where there was a fence between me and those mutants and I just. Sat here, staring at those mutants with some expression of disgust on my face. That's how disturbing I find the creatures. And I don't even know why! But maybe a part of that is that you just face something really bizarre and your first thought is "what on earth is that???" and then you just know that you will find out eventually, and you just know there will be way worse things than these AND there will eventually be a time when the story will reveal what are those and who made them and why.
Actually now as I think of it, I normally have no clue of video game stories because I'm too distracted to follow any dialogues in cutscenes, but these games might be one of the rare ones where I am actually interested in hearing the story too. Altho, I still don't really have a clue of what happens there, sometimes the dialog audio is very quiet or I can't understand what they speak because of the dialects/accents, and sometimes the game chooses to skip cutscenes altogether. Plus the certain cutscenes look really bad on my computer screen, they are "striped" because they were not made for a 1920x1080 resolution originally and I can't really watch those because of eyesore, but I believe each cutscene can be found from youtube if interested.
Anyhow, now I really want to know more about those mutants. They are so disturbing looking that now I am very intrigued.
