Prologue to HypMic in the Spotlight
The territory battles ended in another tie, forcing the four divisions Ikebukuro, Yokohama, Shibuya and Shinjuku to reschedule another battle in the near future.
As usual, the mood was heavy in the arena. This was for their own survival after all.
It was a game of killing or being killed in the end.
The hypnosis microphones each division member held were their weapons for survival, not for entertainment.
Everyone knew that, so no one would dare to approach these dangerous men, except for one...
His occupation involved finding new talents and his eyes were sparkling as he witnessed his newfound talents on the stage.
The producer who was about to create a new history of its own in the show business didn't think about any possible consequences as he approached Yamada Ichiro, also know as the leader of the Ikebukuro division that went under the name Buster Bros!!.
The Yamada brothers had just walked out from the battle arena and looked completely beaten up from the battles.
Anyone that looked their ways would mumble about how scary and delinquent these men looked before hurriedly escaping the scene.
However this single music producer who was too driven by his passion to notice the glares he received from the men he was about to approach stepped up to them as a professional.
Producer: "Wait a minute, Yamada-san!"
Ichiro: "Ha?"
The oldest Yamada brother turned around with a vicious glare, but his glare softened slightly when he noticed that it wasn't another arrogant woman.
Ichiro: "What do you want?"
Unable to contain his excitement for finding such a rare talent, the producer decided to just go straight to his purpose for approaching this young man.
Producer: "I want to recruit you!"
Ichiro: "Recruit?"
Yamada Ichiro couldn't hide his surprise as he repeated the word this strange man had spoken.
Producer: "Your performances were amazing and we're holding a music festival competition soon."
Ichiro looked at his brothers to see their reactions before returning his gaze to the strange man.
Producer: "I'm sorry if I seem to forward, but please consider my offer!"
Producer: "I'm mainly producing anime openings, but I got really inspired after seeing your rap battles."
In an instant, Ichiro's attitude had completely changed.
How could it not? His favorite thing in the world was mentioned.
Ichiro: "Anime openings?"
Yamada Ichiro tried to not show too much excitement since he was still in front of the enemies but he could feel how the fanboy inside him was overflowing with joy.
Producer: "Ah yes, here's my business card."
Ichiro accidentally glanced at the letters on the business card that was handed over.
Ichiro: "No way..."
The leader of the Ikebukuro division practically dropped the card as he read the familiar name that belonged to a creator that he had admired since he got into anime.
The youngest Yamada brother instantly noticed the change of attitude in his beloved big brother.
Saburo: "What's wrong Ichi-nii?"
However instead of replying to his worries, his big brother showed the business card to the middle brother who shared his interest.
Ichiro: "Jiro, look at the name..."
The eyes on the middle brother instantly widened.
Jiro: "For real?!"
For Ichiro and Jiro, this meeting with their idol was more important than to remain cool and composed in front of their enemies.
It was an once in a life time opportunity.
It was a dream come true.
Ichiro: "It's an honor to meet you I'm a huge fan of your works!"
The producer smiled warmly when he had realized that he made the correct decision to approach this young man.
Producer: "The pleasure is mine, now would you please consider my offer?"
It wasn't the first time a producer had worked together with their fans, but it was the first time this producer had approached one without knowing about it.
Ichiro: "What do you think, Saburo, Jiro?"
The producer's promising new talent was practically sparkling with excitement as he addressed his brothers.
Jiro: "Nii-san, we have to do this!"
Saburo: "If it's what Ichi-nii wants then I'll support you!"
Both of his younger brothers noticed this and shared his positivity.
Producer: "Then please come to my offi-"
Samatoki: "If the hypocrite Ichiro-kun is going to compete then we'll do it too and win."
A rough voice suddenly cut off the producer's invitation.
The sound of a hoard of footsteps followed.
Jyuto: "Hey, Samatoki..."
The producer turned around and met a dangerous crimson glare.
The glare belonged to the leader of the Yokohama division, that went under the name Mad Trigger Crew.
His name was Aohitsugi Samatoki, a famous yakuza boss and another excellent talent that had gained the producer's attention on stage.
Samatoki: "There's no way I'm going to lose to that shitty brat."
The man lit a cigarette and blew the smoke into the producer's face as if to threaten him.
Ichiro: "Bring it on, scum!"
The two newfound talents glared at each other and seemed ready for another battle to death right there and then.
Ramuda: "I want to join too, I want to join too!"
A short pink-haired boy bounced over and waved his hand in the producer's face.
This hand belonged to the division leader of Shibuya, Amemura Ramuda.
A creative genius within the fashion world with an odd personality to match.
Dice: "What the hell Ramuda?"
The man that had voiced his surprise was Arisugawa Dice, a gambler who could use his own life as a bargaining chip to satisfy his addiction.
Obviously, it was only getting better and better from the producer's point of view. To think that a bunch of talents would offer their own recruitment without him making any more risky decisions.
The music industry was going to head towards a revolution with these men.
Producer: "No problem, the more the merrier!"
Hifumi: "Then we'll join too~"
Another face popped up next to the producer.
The voice of the speaker belonged to a man named Izanami Hifumi, also known as the Shinjuku division's popular GIGOLO.
Doppo: "Hey what are you saying Hifumi?"
The tired office worker Kannozaka Doppo protested slightly and threw a concern look at the division leader of their division.
Jakurai: "I don't mind, Doppo-kun."
The mature gentleman named Jinguji Jakurai, known as the leader of Matenrou, replied to his concerns in a friendly manner.
Doppo: "Sensei..."
Hifumi: "See? Come on Doppo, we can't be left out when everyone else joins right?"
The energetic blonde patted his buddy on the back as he tried to convince him to join the rest.
Producer: "Very well!"
The producer could barely contain his joy.
Producer: "Then all of you are welcome to stop by my office tomorrow to make the contract an official one!
