Tempted to write up a more detailed statement on the situation with Tim and Sam, but I'm also tempted to post my WIP. I've changed their tattoos from organs and tissues, which is really cool and very the flesh which is why I picked that initially in the picrew, to bones. For a few reasons.

When I was first designing Sam, it was as a self insert based on the toxic traits I displayed as a teen, just ramped up and exagerated quite a bit as the entities often do. My partner at the time, N, Was really into the magnus archives and I got really into it as a result of them. We made our OC's together, and though they had nothing to do with one another, Sam quickly became my baby. In part, due to the fact that I myself share toned down versions of some of their quirks, and in part because of who I had made it with. The others were also created with their guidence, and more so than Sam was. Maybe this is why I've set them down, because I had wanted their opinion. But I digress. During the intial creation process, I asked them about various backgrounds, tattoos, etc available in the picrew, and I knew I wanted a character with multiple mouths, and multiple voices (the flesh/the eye) but with ties to the desolation, because of that past Sam was drawn from. I quickly realized during our conversation that a lot of the pieces I liked were tied to entities I could never serve. Like the buried. And, after throwing a design together haphazardly that I liked, I showed them. They're first reaction was "Oh someone aligned with terminus, the flesh.. and something else. Maybe desolation or the eye?" And my heart sank a bit. The bones read as serving terminus to them, not the flesh. (Despite might I point out, bones also being prevelant in episodes attributed to the flesh) I asked them how to make that more clear, and they told me to add organ tattoos instead. It looked cool, and sufficed my vision, so I changed it. I felt it would be easier to read what they are this way. After noting that they were in the archives, I came up with the first statement about Sam. The rest you can see on my blog. Now, let me be clear, I'm not upset at N for saying what they did nor having that opinion. I wasn't then either. I'm still grateful that they guided me and provided a safe anchor to allow me to dip my toes into the horrors, before being consumed by the deep vast knowledge contained there. However for as much as I love Sam, I have never actually managed to do anything more than sketch them. There was something that stopped me each time, and I think that part of the reason, is that I struggled with drawing those same tattoo's I once loved the design of, without it looking unnecessarily messy, even in black and white. And so, in doing my first piece of art of them, I've decided to honor that original idea. I'll workshop a statement explaining the change, and that'll no doubt be entertaining. A first look at Elias and Sam interacting, perhaps? In any case, going forward Sam will have bones, not tissues, because I have to draw the bastard, and bones are far easier for me.

I have to apologize, I'm going to get a bit personal here. I've been wanting to say this next bit for a long, long time, but I've been afraid of emotional vulnerability, in a space of my creation, wherein I've literally got a self insert character. I recognize it's silly, but I too struggle to let people in, and I know why but that doesn't make it easier. I was afraid of ridicule, or being told to keep my feelings off a magnus archive blog. But, in a fandom that has rallied to support Jmart and lonelyeyes, amongst other things, I think maybe I'll be okay this time. Maybe, this is the best place to try.

To N, and N alone; My lonely companion, I do not know if you still read my blog and search for traces of our past - Or look into my future to see what it now holds, But I do miss you. We can never be close, because by default, I want to be closer than we should be, and you can't let people too close. You're a lukas, at heart and that's okay. I'm not your Jon. You're not my Martin.

Instead, I do believe I've become Martin myself, to a Jon who loves me and would look for me endlessly in the misty houses you led me to. I do not hate you, But I cannot love you. This is the only thing that might yet tie us together, as I made this blog oh so long ago as an attempt to bond and become closer, to find a way past your invisible walls - But I never did. You warned me beforehand that the lonely sang to you, called your name, and I didn't understand then what you meant.

I think I might now, and I'm sorry for hurting you, just as I know you're sorry for hurting me. I think you know too we can't really be friends, or anything more, because of who we are at our cores. I want connection, I want to be a part of something, be it the cult of the lightless flame, the ever seeing institute, or just a meat factory. And you'd rather be in a misty, quiet house, with people who share that desire. You can only be close with those who keep you at a distance, either literally or figuratively, and maybe if I had figured that out sooner things wouldn't have gone so badly.

Regardless. This blog is in a sense as much yours as it is mine - A co founder of the unofficial archives. My proof reader, my inspiration. I'm letting you go, but I hope that if this blog does come across your dash, or if my posts find you, you're still able to smile, and enjoy the content seperate from me, and our soured memories. I know how much this fandom means to you, and how much it has come to mean to me.

But, please.. Don't tell me it's you. Keep me at arms length this time. I'm sorry. I've found out you weren't a fan of the so called "grand gestures" and I recognize that this is an actual, grand gesture and if you hate it I get that too. But I needed closure, and the chances of you actually seeing this are slim to none.

Opalescence is a concept that is similar but different to iridescence.

Bo and Gabriel stopped being friends in this time, i think, but that’s not my fucking business because i’m 25 years old and other people’s interpersonal problems aren’t my fucking business!!

Its reasonable here, then, to like the concept behind a design right? And you you probably think “oh this is where gabriel ripped off cosmit, right?” and you’d be wrong!

We’re going to cut to my favorite third party, a loving friend and wonderful person... Echo! Who makes adopts! As a source of income!

Who was like! Hey party people! Suggest themes for me to use in my next batch! of adopts! and now you think... oh... here comes opal.. WRONG AGAIN!

So what happened was... gabriel had been like “i saw this cool iridescent design, and the concept was really cool! maybe you should do an opalescent design!” and echo was like oh fuck yeah i’d love to do that! and so.... they did. Now i’m sure you’re thinking..... Oh it’s Opal!

Except. Actually it wasn’t.

The opalescent (NOT iridescent, they aren’t the same if you were wondering!) troll Echo original made? One of the ones that bo linked in their call out? Isnt opal.

It’s the original opalescent design that echo made! Which they.. Kept! That’s their Magiro!

Now! Here’s where it gets hinky!

Here’s where I don’t agree with either party!

Bo and Liam were upset that Gabriel (and Gabriel alone) apparently ripped off Opal! I don’t see it, and I don’t think you can steal a concept either! But whatever theyre adults they can make their own conclusions!

Now where I don’t agree with Gabriel is... Gabriel started making posts (after being told he was accused the first time, idk by who) about Opal being the BEST opalescent troll in the community! Which is fucked up! It’s immature and I was upset with him for it! And then it spiralled a little!

Gabriel got a call out blog made about him for reasons OTHER than opal! The callout blog tried to bring up opal! Liam made a public statement that he and gabriel were handling it privately! And I thought that was going to be that on that!

So in private, and bo’s “call out” will confirm this, the whole party eventually agreed that Gabriel would be making edits to opal to make her theme different instead of white opalescent blah blah, this all is NOT my business and frankly I don’t fucking care.

My problem comes in when it become not enough for bo that Gabriel to make changes to or stop using Opal altogether and started... Boxing gabriel into a new solution? Because Gabriel apparently wasn’t bending over backwards enough? I don’t fucking know! It’s not my fucking business! DURING a time of crisis. DURING. BO DID THIS WHEN GABRIEL WAS ALREADY IN A POSITION TO HAVE A HARD TIME SAYING NO. THIS IS FUCKED UP NO? But! I don’t know how you can post screenshots of you saying “You’re having a bad time because of this tropical storm about to rock your shit and I hate you and want you to go away Take this Hilariously Low sum of money for a character with tons of art and effort” and then think you’re like. In the right here? Bo admits they were stupid angry and that they cancelled the deal on a whim IN Their call out post! And then turned around, in their anger, and started threatening gabriel ! That’s literally blackmailing him! Because he wasn’t doing what they wanted! it’s all literally in the post! I read the whole thing! Gabriel came back with a counter, which was getting rid of Opal altogether including making the replacement in the story NOT black coded, NOT a woman (explicitly stated to be transmasc for the new concept), No piercings etc.

Bo then, later AGAIN during a time of Financial and real life crisis (their confrontation was sent within HOURS of the announcement of another hurricane about to rock houston) decided to turn around and verbally berate Gabriel about how he failed to deliver his apology, turned around, and tried to post a largely evidence-less call out about him.

The reason for Bo doing this?

Gabriel reblogged female-coded aesthetic into the tag. And that was all the proof Bo needed that GABRIEL IS A LIAR BLAH BLAH

I really disagree with bo’s attempts to use the crisis of a TROPICAL STORM to solicit the response THEY ALONE wanted.

THIS is why I have bo blocked. I could give a shit LESS about all the other bullshit. Do I like it? No. It is my business? no.

But the sheer fucking LACK OF EMPATHY displayed here is FUCKING ASTOUNDING.

Morrisey is one of those world-famous single named singers: Cher, Sting, Prince, Madonna, Morrissey. Perhaps a little Bono as, while he is more ironic and droll than the U2 frontman, he also has a reputation for douche-baggery.  Morrissey is famous for his music's bleak drama blended with bleak humor, sexually ambiguousness, themes of the past and self-reflection, and being an all around "anti-pop idol".

Morrissey made a name for himself as the frontman for The Smiths in the 1980s (1982-87), but has a successful solo career since 1988 with only a brief hiatus from '98-'03.  His most beloved albums include The Queen is Dead (1986), Strangeways, Here We Come (1987), Viva Hate (1988), Your Arsenal (1992), Vauxhall and I (1994), You are the Quarry (2004), Years of Refusal (2009). His most recey album (California Son) came out in February of this year (2019).

He is outspoken politically on, for example, vegetarianism and animal rights and against the monarchy and Americanization. In 2006 a BBC poll voted him the second greatest living British cultural icon.

I admit that while I like the Smiths well enough I had never liked them enough to really follow Morrissey's career, which is odd as I do like the whole punk/new wave/post punk scene very much. But I started listening to him a bit for this and a bit depressing but quite good.

Orientation: Humasexual (A word of Morrissey's own creation meaning "attracted to humans" but I will go into why, in Morrissey's case, it seems to fit under the asexual umbrella.)

I'm breaking my own rule here. Morrissey does not call himself "asexual," but uses his own term: humasexual. But as he defines the term and the nature of his sexual/romantic orientation it fits under the aspec umbrella. At one point Morrissey identifed as a bisexual who "hates sex" and later a "non-practicing bisexual," but be later abandoned that terminology. By the 2010s he was very open on the exact nature of his orientation.

While I would not go up to him and demand he identify as aspec the experience he describes does fit in fairly neatly into our letter of the Alphabet Soup. Again, I would not demand anything of him. He is a human person. Sexual orientation is, in the end, highly personal and individual. Do not be The Guy/Gal/Person. In the end everyone is entitled to name and define their own experience.

It may seem odd that a man who writes a lot about sex/sexual desire in his music could be asexual, but I don't think writing is necessarily indicative of the writer's true feelings.  Morrissey agrees, saying time and time again from his earliest fame that he is writing a general story, not a biography. He says of his lyrics that "It was very important for me to try and write for everybody...nothing is ever open and shut.". Remember, while the artist always leaves a trace of themself in their art it is not always in the most obvious way.

I believe his humasexual might be closer to demi (or perhaps gray) than it is to utterly asexual. Aspec, but not at the zero/zero point, when we get to the quotes section I will explain further.  Morrissey is definitely not aromantic. But he was intentionally celibate until his mid-thirties. It was then he had his first serious relationship, all by his own admission, not being interested in sex much before that.  He still seems to have stints of celibacy. Sex as a "maybe" or a shrug rather than a necessity. And again it took a deep personal connection to his partner for him to even feel the urge to have sex. Indeed, he claimed to "hate" sex before that.

I hope to clear things up in the quotes section when I let Morrissey speak for himself, which he has done, extensively. I included quotes from his most recent public discussion on the matter from 2013.

-Morrissey in a statement from October 2013 (quoted by Time Magazine. Emphasis in original as it is the same in multiple sources) (I think this should be obvious. Again, labels are entirely up to the person using them and thus I am not applying one to Morrissey, but clearly he could stand under the ace umbrella mspec romantically and aspec sexually)

"[F]or the first time in my life the eternal ‘I’ becomes ‘we’, as, finally, I can get on with someone, Jake [Owen Walters] and I neither sought not needed company other than our own for the whirlwind stretch to come.”  

-Morrissey in his 2013 memoir Autobiography.  (Walters was his first serious relationship.  The relationship began in 1994 and ended in 1996. It describes sentiment echoed by many demisexuals "'I' becomes 'we'" and "finally I can get on with someone". Also the idea of solitude may reflect an aspec relationship.)

(I don't agree with him in the least, my label makes me very happy and I know it makes many other people happy [although I did feel like this before I had my asexual label.] I think he might have been projecting. I think his not quite fitting into anything made him uncomfortable and it shows why he might not be inclined to stick to a traditional label and instead invent his own.)

[Nick] Kent: …[Y]out write a lot about homosexual longing.

Morrissey: I've always said that I leave things very open and that I sing about people. Without limitation. And I don't think that automatically makes me homosexual.

Kent: What about...sexual relationships?

Morrissey: I don't have relationships at all. It's out of the question.

Kent: Why?

Morrissey: Partly because I have always been attracted to men or women who were never attracted to me. And I was never attracted to men or women who were attracted to me. So that's the problem. I've never met the right person.

-A 1985 interview with Nick Kent, quoted by David Brent in Morrissey: Scandal and Passion (2004) (not finding "the right person" seems quite demi to me. He also says that is "part" of the reason. So there is probably a more complicated reason too. Also of note, Morrissey doesn't like Kent [or at least didn't at the time] so odds are he was disinclined to further articulate his most personal life to him. But that is purely speculation and it is dicey waters even speculating that much.)
