1,3,9,10 and 12 for the three fic ask game
Okay, let's go:
1. which three fics occupy your top posts? Tell me a bit about the inspiration behind them!
Shopping Trip started off as me just wanting to write some funny silly gay stuff and is my most popular fic haha.
Satisfaction is my second most popular and is my most self indulgent fic by far so kudos to that (pun intended) for doing so well.
And then rounding out the top three is Tongues And Teeth which has done way better than I ever would have expected. So that's quite nice actually.
3. which three fics best represent your views about love / relationships?
Satisfaction for definite. Maybe because it's my favourite fic / pet project but I feel like across the various different relationships I portray (whether platonic, familial, romantic or otherwise).
Although I haven't written much of To Be Loved so far, that's also definitely going to end up being another one representing my views towards that. Maybe it's because I have so many ideas to do with Martel's relationships with the various other cast members and that some of her characteristics are based off of my own but I feel like that's also going to be one with those views presented.
Okay so I can't properly start publishing my third choice because it will be part of a prompt fill week for most of the early chapters. However the current nickname for it is the Heatwave-verse and it has my second most random polycule I've created (aside from the Lesbutches in Satisfaction). But I guarantee that will also end up being a good representation of my views on relationships.
9. oops - your entire fic repository has to be permanently deleted, but you can pick three to remain. which three fics are you saving and why?
Satisfaction, my doc for the prompt fill week that Heatwave-verse is in, and Solstice (which is a lot longer than what's currently posted) because they're my babies.
10. which three fics were you most nervous to post? why?
Solstice because it's original stuff and I'm awkward. Ready for Love because, once again, I'm awkward and anxious. Also Tongues And Teeth because of how dark it is.
12. pick three fics that feature the same trope. what do you like most about writing that trope, and / or how did you do that trope differently in each story?
Satisfaction, Ready for Love, and Solstice all have the Found Family trope because I'm a sucker for that trope, but it varies a lot across the three. In Satisfaction the characters are growing closer as everything happens (and Greed keeps adopting children), whereas Ready for Love there are some characters who were already in a found family but it expands, and Solstice starts off as just Dawn and Dusk having each other until they meet Moonshine (ooo spoilers/teasers hehe).

Are we really... the same?
I have already done an analysis about Kim Ga-On and Kang Isaac’s differences and how the show tries to show us that these two people may have the same faces but they’re opposites.
And if the first time I was talking about the way they look at Yo-Han and how their emotions are put in contrast against each other’s, now I want to talk about how their world views and priorities differ depending on whom we are talking about at the moment.
It all starts from episode four when we get to know about the details of the fire accident from Sun-Ah. For the first time, the show tells us that there was an event that day and that Kang Isaac wanted to make a huge donation ten years ago.
— And this is when their opinions clash.
I don't want to discuss if it was right or wrong but the thing I want to point is that Kang Isaac was ready to donate all his money to the foundation.
He was happy and excited about it: smiling and talking with all the directors,
...while Ga-On takes Yo-Han’s side in episode five and says that he would do the same and cancel the donation to that trash the foundation.
There’s strong confidence on his face, and it's present in his voice. Words are said without any hesitation because they’re sincere.
The scene in episode nine is very interesting... not only because there’s jealous Ga-On but also because there’s a lot, a lot of emotions hidden in small details.
But since it’s not the topic of the post, let’s move on to more important (at the moment) things. The flashback starts with Yo-Han’s words “Didn't Ms. say anything? The story of the maid that jumped,” and Ga-On reasks “That was a true story?” (him not believing that it really happened and thinking that Yo-Han is not someone who could do so is-- you’re in love your honor it’s time to acknowledge it out loud you know)
— And it's the moment we see the difference in their priorities.
If Ga-On is outraged about Yo-Han playing with someone’s heart, Isaac’s outraged about damaging someone’s legs. And it's the main reason why Ga-On understands Yo-Han better than anyone in this world, even Isaac. He cares about the feelings and reads the emotions, while Isaac cares about the physical condition and predicts the consequents.
It's not a bad thing, both of them are valid and important, and so are their concerns and the ways they care for Yo-Han. It’s just interesting to see them being worried about what matters to them as individuals.
In my previous analysis, I wrote that the main difference between Isaac and Ga-On it’s how they’re seen by Yo-Han himself. And once again,
— The main difference between the two is the way they're seen by Yo-Han himself.
In episode nine, after Yo-Han’s flashback, we see him touching the necklace on his wrist. He’s crying, raising his head with eyes shining from tears. Maybe because he’s moved or maybe because he remembers the past. One thing is for sure is that he doesn't cry because Ga-On is alike to his brother (I'll write about this later sigh).
And in episode sixteenth, we see Yo-Han looking at the new scar on his hand. His expression doesn't have any hints of tears, but instead, we see warmth along with tenderness shining in his eyes.
Another story related to the necklace is about Sun-Ah. Him wearing it as the promise he made his brother all his life, not considering taking it off even after Isaac’s death...
...But putting it on Sun-Ah. The whole situation already says a lot. Yo-Han gives it to the one, who stole it from him at the beginning of episode six, and the one from whom he got it back in episode eight. Even though it was to achieve his plans, he gave the only reminder of his promise to Isaac... to the one who gets rid of it later.
It’s gone, Yo-Han doesn't have anything that reminds him of the promise to Isaac anymore. But it doesn't matter now since you can't give a scar to someone else like a necklace just by opening the clasp. This one promise will be with him forever, a promise to not do something that can hurt Yo-Han himself innocent people.
Kim Ga-On and Kang Isaac both may have the same faces. They both may judge things on what they see and they both may mean the worlds for Yo-Han.
But if one of them was the stopping factor from the dark road Yo-Han could have taken in his life, another one is and will be his ground in his life along with the reminder of warmth, care, and love.
Bonus: an unending saga of Ga-On not wanting to be Yo-Han’s brother (or even being reminded of his existence).
#the devil judge#kim ga on#kang yo han#gahan#lawful husbands#I'm once again anxious about publishing it but okay hehe#the point of the whole post: lost#just like my will to move on from this show but okay#I'm sorry for this late update I couldn't get myself together to edit the whole thing ;;#im also sorry for the quality of gifs#and also for my English as well ;;#repeating one point over and over again: achieved#it’s the last post about their differences since for now I didn't find other ones?#like we hear about Isaac in episode nine... and that's all he's not being mentioned once again like ever#no okay Sun-Ah slightly mentions Isaac in episode eleven#but fortunately Ga-On doesn't hear between the lines or we'd get another scene of jealous Ga-On right there#haha.#another one is episode fifteenth at the end but it's just another mention without showing him#and Yo-Han saying hyung at the end of his revenge#that's all we don't see his character anymore so there's nothing I can do an analysis on#the hashtags are a longer essay than the actual post....... I got used to it so please cope with me sigh

just wanted to say thank you for existing :) you genuinely seem like such a kind person 🌝 i was wondering if you ever had any anxieties about putting out your stories at first?? writing is an escape for me and id love to share it with other people but i’m so scared susisk if someone said something mean i’d cry and delete my whole account lmao (sorry for the long ask) 🖤
UM?? thank you this is so sweet i 😭😭 thank you sm for saying that <33 but !! yes !! i was so so so so scared of posting the answer at first and tbh ... i still get anxious every time i update but the response has always been so overwhelmingly positive that any possible negativity is completely overshadowed by the kindness i'm shown :] what really gave me the motivation to start publishing was sharing the story w my best friend ... she read what i had already written and was so supportive of it all and really encouraged me to post it and once she was on board i was like 'well okay ig i can do it :]' so !! if you have someone that could do that for you then yay !! if not then i'll encourage you right now !! honestly the worst thing that can happen is ... like you said ... some stranger on the internet being mean to you. which is really a them problem and not a you problem. and the best thing that can happen is you get to share your art w the world and people like it !! which is way more common !! i've never spoken said this here bc im so scared of jinxing it but ... i've literally NEVER gotten a negative comment. ive been posting the answer on ao3 for like 1.75 years and ive been posting here for 4ish months and ... nothing ... so i really don't think there's much risk of negativity until you're a bigger/more established/more popular writer and by then you might have an easier time ignoring those people ... idk LOL but hopefully that's kind of reassuring at least :] no worries for the long ask hehe i'm very happy answering any questions/chatting :]] thank you again for being so nice <33
