genuinely what is with people giving ed bizarre inhuman proportions with huge wide shoulders and huge muscular arms and then a tiny waist and stick legs. why. I just. I've been seeing this trend for two years and it confuses me and grosses me out. I understand why people draw him ultra skinny. I understand why people draw him with abs. those trends irk me but I understand them and I understand why they happen. but fuckin turning him into gru from despicable me??? whyyyy?? I know the answer is racism, making the brown guy wider and more muscular with big arms... but I dunno!! taika's like, societal default bodytype. you go into the character builder and you don't have to mess with the body much at all to get taika. he's the most "normal" shaped man (normal according to modern society's expectations of what a 49yo man's body would look like, recognizing there is no true "normal" body). and yet it just keeps happening again and again and again!!!!!

this is the worst one. this is the worst way to draw ed in a way that will make me say "he doesn't look like that." if you draw him ultra skinny, it'll make me go "ok -_- you don't care about learning how to draw anyone besides anime twinks" (which is a problem) and if you draw him with abs it'll make me go "ok -_- you like abs I guess good for you" but when you draw him with hulking shoulders and massive biceps and forearms you make me go "ok you're racist." please just look. at a goddamn. reference. image. for fuck's sake!! I know that stylization is a thing but you gotta think with the kepe before you just post things!!!! why are you drawing ed like that?? out of all the characters?? and then don't do it :)
