#I'm not even talking about the classicism of using “homeless” as an insult

People who refuse to read or watch One Piece annoy me so much, not because they don't want to read or watch it, it's their life, but because they have to justify it by talking trash about One Piece.
It's incredible the number of posts I see where people are like "I refuse to watch a homeless boy go on stupid adventures, I watch REAL stories", and like, wtf. It doesn't matter that some fans were annoying, you cannot talk shit about something you know nothing about. Because, in the end, with all its flaws, One Piece is a story about oppression and fighting oppression, and how an unjust system forces people into crimes, and how the government is not your friend. You can't act as if it tells nothing, as if it's empty, just to justify not reading it. These stories are morals and themes.
The other argument is insulting One Piece fans of "having no life" because the story is long af, and like... Who are you to talk, you are terminally online to be having beef with other anime geeks.
For example, I'm not interested at all in reading or watching Death Note. However, I am not going to insult people who do, or insult this story I have not read. I also know that Death Note is also a commentary on the death penalty and killing criminals, and I think that's great.
If you don't want to read One Piece, cool, whatever, I don't care. But you don't need to insult it to justify yourself.
