listening to all super mario "starman"/invincibility themes in order of release rn, and i wanna point out a few interesting things ive noticed.

1st, All the gameboy games just seem to kinda do their own thing

2nd, The Mario is missing versions of the song are really good, probably because they're not actually used as the song for the powerup like the others. In Mario goes missing the starman theme is reused as either the theme for Brazil and Argentina or Madrid, Mexico city, Athens, Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro, depending on what version you're playing.

3rd, The backing violin track that is known for its use as the wing cap music in Mario 64 was actually first used in Yoshi's Island.
