Awww, I'm sorry something you were so excited for left you feeling that way. I've had it a few times as well, and it sucks.
I miss my endless bombs more that I can say. I used them for almost everything. Muddlebuds are great but not quite the same. The plot feels like a reboot rather than a sequel. The memories, collecting the four Champions/Sages, the fact that you have to get yourself a *new* house now because Zelda moved in, threw out your weapons racks, and took the sign off the front of the house... The Lurelin quest mirrors Tarrey Town to a great degree as well.
That said, I am loving the game. I'm not sure if this'll quite make sense, but to me the whole game feels like a D&D game with a "Fuck it, roll and let's see how it pans out" style GM. BotW felt more like a novel we got to act out. It's a bit like the difference between reading the Saga of Drizzt and playing a drow in a game, you know? It's two different types of engagement, and in TotK it's not actually the story I'm so engaged with.
It works for me because those are both immersion styles I love. If you've got a strong preference for one or even straight up dislike the other, that's not going to work for you.
But yes, I get you. I think BotW is better. It was rich in a way TotK seems bland. I even like the old blood moon better...
in all honesty, im feeling a bit burned out on totk, the more i think about it the more i dislike its story and lore, i dont know what to make of it it being so loved by everyone else makes me feel like theres something wrong about me :/ gonna try and take a step back from it all
#I'm never gonna get bored of starting brawls between monsters#thats my favourite part#and the Underdark#I know thats not what it's called but it's what I call it every time
