Yesterday I took some time to make a flyer for a cousin, it was easy, I made it on Canva. Everything's cool.

I just hope he doesn't ask why I'm doing this, because in all honesty, I don't know.

Canon Couples and the Random Heights I Assigned Them

Just because I recently re-read this post and it's on my mind. Here's what I think these canon couples' final heights came to be and some justifications behind my thought process, as well as some headcanons. Let's start with my OTP -

Harry (6'1") and Ginny (5'0")

I'm kinda obsessed with the idea that 17yo Harry being the same height as his 21yo deceased father would grow just a couple more inches

Ginny being 5ft fits with her being the noticeably "smallest one" in the DoM during OOTP and with Harry being able to easily look over her head during the infamous First Kiss scene in HBP, putting her head at chest height of Harry (as of HBP)

Ginny is the only one who knows about Harry's petty satisfaction when he ran into Draco Malfoy some years after the war and realized he had continued to grow and Malfoy hadn't

James (5'11") and Lily (5'8")

Because they're both tall enough to be considered "tall", but not the kind of tall that is shocking

Lily being 5'8" makes her tall enough to have to look down at 14yo Harry in the graveyard scene of GOF

Ron (6'5") and Hermione (5'8")

In order for Fred and George to be "shorter and stockier" than 14yo Ron, but still slightly over 6ft so as to shrink to 5'11" in DH, I have to assume Ron's final height came to be one that most people would put in the "Holy shit you're tall" category

I know I'm going to get shouted at for Hermione's height, because she's never described as particularly tall in the books HOWEVER she's never described as particularly short either, just shorter than Harry

This 9 inch height difference give Ron & Hermione the perfect height difference for Ron to comfortably rest his chin on her head without having to hunch over awkwardly like Harry does with Ginny, so I'm sticking to it

Arthur (5'11") and Molly (4'11")

I know the movies made Arthur short and round, but he was described as thin in the books and all the Weasley boys wind up being pretty tall, so they had to get that from somewhere.

Molly is consistently described as short and dumpy throughout the series, and while Ginny is often compared to Molly physically, I just like the idea that Ginny managed to grow that extra inch that Molly never did.

Draco (6'0") and Astoria (5'11")

we know in DH Draco was slightly taller than Harry at the Malfoy Manor scene (p.457, U.S. edition of DH), so if we assume the like linked post above that Harry was 5'11" during DH, then I'd put Draco at 6 foot.

we literally know nothing about Astoria (CC doesn't count), but I picked 5'11" because it is the curse of all tall women to wind up with men roughly the same height

Lucius (5'10") and Narcissa (5'10")

we know Harry and Narcissa are the same height in HBP, so I put her at 5'10"

correct me if I'm wrong, but Lucius is never described as particularly tall, while Narcissa is. And of course, tall for a woman is average for a man. I put Lucius to be around around the same height as Narcissa because I just don't see Lucius' personality allowing him to be with a woman taller than himself.

Well, here we go. This isn't a formal WIP introduction, just an overview of what me and @pocketinferno have been messing with.

YA sci-fi/mythology

In a cyberpunk-ish Mexico City, some indeterminate years ahead of our time, there are two people, either friends or a brother and sister. The girl, 17yo Jill, is brilliant with machines of all kinds, and compassionate to a fault. Her eyes are trained on the future and improving the world she loves. The boy, 19yo Ghost, a transman desperate to prove himself, has become a bounty hunter against his family's wishes. His eyes are set on the past, the knowledge and wisdom that's been almost forgotten in the present day.

Their strengths become their weaknesses.

Jill's compassion leads to her kidnapping by strangers. Taken before their leader, her fate is sealed by one of her surnames: Cortez. Told she will be sacrificed to the gods in the morning, it will take all Jill's courage and cunning to escape. When compassion fails, and her skills cannot save her, what else is left?

Ghost's first client asks him to track down the man who assaulted her. On the hunt, he discovers a mysterious feathered snake that he suspects escaped from a lab. But his focus on the past has left him blind to the reality of the present. What will get the job done in the end: his training, or his heart?

Neither can imagine the depths of what they've been pulled into. Humanity is a failure in the eyes of the gods. With Huitzilopochtli still missing, Tezcatlipoca has chosen conquest, and Quetzalcoatl has chosen humanity. A war between ancient rivals stirs again...

obviously a story, much less a trilogy, like this will take a lot, a lot, of research and planning. Reading and discussion and talking to people. Drew is Mexican and I'm American, so we'll have a good amount of options to go through in both English and Spanish.

part of the purpose of this is to introduce more people to Aztec (Mexica) mythology. The Mexica and their mythology is far more fascinating and intricate than just "ooooh, scary human sacrifice". (Drew is regularly shocked by how obscure Aztec mythology is to Americans.)

we're wanting to have a list of organizations in the book so people can donate to help indigenous peoples, women and other groups in Mexico. If you know of any trustworthy organizations or groups, please send me an ask and I'll make a note of them.

We would love to hear from other Mexicans, indigenous peoples, and those familiar with the Aztecs/Mexica and their mythology, along with anyone that's interested in this idea. Even if you're critical of us or this idea, we want to hear what you think. Just please don't bite our heads off if you dislike this idea 😅 we're doing this in good faith and trying to be respectful.

This is not really a priority for either of us. Drew is in university and I've got another WIP (or two, or ten...) that I'm trying to focus on. I mean I can make it a priority but I don't see a reason to do so rn.

Well, that's the idea. Without any spoilers at least. What do you think?

Hi, just found your blog and I was wondering if I could make a small request? Something fluff with a BTAS or Arkham Riddler with an s/o that is small and young-looking? I'm 22 but im 155cm and with a facesmask people confuse me with a 14yo, on my best days they confuse me with a 17yo, and after discovering that Eddie is around 185cm, it had me thinking if he would mock his s/o because of her height (not being rude, just probably making cute comments)

I'm sorry if this is a weird ask? But I'm kinda feeling down and he's one of my comfort characters👉👈

It's not weird at all! I find the experience relatable if anything, I was looking for some alcohol for a my hangout when a worker asked if I was even old enough to buy one. I'm average height in my country's standard, but I guess I look younger than my age. Apparently they mistook me as a fourteen year old 🥲

💚 So I've done a height comparison, 155 cm is possibly at the level of his chin, so trust me when I say that he'd be resting his chin atop your head when he's hugging you. Sometimes when he wants to spite you, he opens and closes his mouth aggressively, making a some sort of impact against your head.

💚 He's not all that shock at the height gap, since he's taller than most all his life. But admittedly, he can sympathize at the fact that you're mistaken as a young child, while he himself growing up was mistaken as older.

💚 Cliché stuff, will jokingly make use of your stature as an elbow rest but once he's had his fun he's going to say that he's just kidding and pepper your face with kisses. However if it gets to you and you started to get conscious about your height, he is going to apologize profusely.

💚 This man will stop at nothing to give his object of affection the love he has, even if he has to tilt himself down to reach your height to kiss you OR pick you up to match his level.
