You've seen Leverage?? Since there's a Leverage actor going to play a DC character soon. . . if you could cast Christian Kane to play a DC character, who would it be? As in another version of an Arrowverse character you know?

I'm very excited to see Aldis Hodge as Carter Hall in the Black Adam movie. I'm pretty much planning to see it just for him and Sarah Shahi (who played Sameen Shaw on Person of Interest) because I've enjoyed their acting in other works.

Of course, I do enjoy Christian Kane's acting too, so having him in the Arrowverse, or just playing a DC character, would be pretty awesome. It'd be hilarious to backfill him into the Arrowverse version of Carter Hall just for the Leverage actor symmetry, but then the first season of Legends would need to be entirely different because who would ever believe Christian Kane could be defeated in combat by the guy they had playing Vandal Savage? (Admittedly, who would ever believe that version of Vandal Savage killed Christian Kane once, never mind once a generation?)

I could see him playing an alternate version of Oliver Queen from Earth-425 or whatever where he's tired dad Ollie trying to stop injustice and ride herd on his arrow-shooting vigilante children. Lot's of shout outs to Leverage. Probably at least some of Leverage's main cast guest stars over the course of the first season. (The running fandom joke that Lindsey McDonald, Eliot Spencer, and Jake Stone are siblings would then extend to include Oliver Queen.)

He'd actually make a great Batman. This is a guy I would absolutely believe would be out beating up bad guys by night and adopting fiesty, angry children by day. But I could also see him showing up as a villain on Batwoman. Harvey Dent would be an interesting choice, but there are plenty of other members of the Gotham Rogues gallery who'd work too.

The Flash's take on the Shade was pretty lackluster, so Christian Kane would be an interesting choice for the Victorian era gentleman cursed with immortality and locked in a seemingly never ending battle with a family of assassins dedicated to taking him down. Much as I like the version of the character on Stargirl, having a proper version of him facing off against the Flash would have been nice. I could see an actor like Christian Kane being able to make the Shade into the sort of villain that truly challenges the Flash... but also winds up changed for the better after their encounters.

And while the Flash seems to have handed off Max's slot as Impulse's mentor to Jay Garrick, I feel like Christian Kane would make for an excellent Max Mercury. Maybe showing up in Season 3 as a red herring for Savitar, curious about all these new speedsters around, and a little out of touch since he last time jumped from the sixties or something. (Look, I just think it'd be hilarious to have him say 'groovy' once or twice.) Maybe he winds up mentoring Wally a bit and then goes to hang out with the Legends before moving on to the next step in his time hopping journey.
