So I'm comin out of my hiatus a bit more officially with this hc list from my drafts! I have a few more ideas, as well as the third and final part to my MC with Plague Flashbacks series (Part 1 here, cough (I am so sorry to @/dameschnee123 for taking so long--))

This is super self indulgent, I started writing this not long after I got an undercut of my own. To anyone reading this who's considering an undercut get one I am so goddamn serious I love it so much.

C & TWs Include: A lil spicy (mentions of neck kisses) but nothing super explicit. Mentions of botching a haircut with a knife, but no mention of any specific wounds.

- Thinks you look amazing! - Asks occasionally if it’s okay for them to touch it cause he likes the texture and the sound of it. - Jokes about getting one themself, but he’d never really give up the iconic marshmallow fluff hairstyle they’ve got going on. - Keeps pitching the idea of you getting different patterns whenever you go to get it cut again. - “Really, just picture it: you lift up your hair and surprise! It’s a little snake in a wizard hat!”

- Instantly reminded of Nahara and her side shave. - Gets really jealous of how cool your neck must be in the summer months. - Has to keep reminding herself that she can't just reach over and fluff you up without asking. (Even if you're ok with it happening unprompted, she wants to be proper about it.) - (This is a lil projection cause mine wasn't done super straight) but if you get it touched up and it doesn't fit your standards she'll insist on letting the palace barber touch it up. - "It's not an inconvenience at all, my dear! It's what we pay them for."

- Oh he used to have one of those! - When he was apprenticing under Nazali he kept his hair shorter, and part of that was having an undercut to keep the back of his neck cool. - Plays it so cool if you offer to let him touch it, but on the inside he is. Loosin it. - When you're cuddling he likes to stick his face in it and give you a couple kisses. He also likes to fake complain when it's fresh about how scratchy it is. - "Ah, you have to tell me when you get it touched up. It feels like I'm kissing a hedgehog."

- I feel like he would find out you have one by accident? - Like you trip and when he grabs you by the back of the shirt to catch you he feels how short your hair is on your neck. - Will not touch it unless you give him express permission to. - Homeboy is super awkward for the first couple minutes cause he's so used to feeling Inanna's fur and he's pretty sure he shouldn't pet a human like he pets wolves. - "It's kinda nice, actually. I like the soft part at the top..."

- You gotta tell her where you got that done right now she wants one too. - She gets all sweaty running around the palace and town all day, she could use a little air on the back of her neck!! - The second you show it to her, she's asking to touch it. - She kinda scruffs you like a cat almost? Like that's the movement her hand is making against your head and it's way more comfortable than it sounds. - "Oh my god, I dunno how to describe it but this rules. Does it itch at all? I can scratch it if it does!"

- How in trouble would he be if he tried to give himself an undercut to match yours? - Doesn't matter, within the week he's made an attempt and has failed miserably. - That's what happens when you try to give yourself an undercut with a knife and no adult supervision. - Makes you promise to come with him to the barber once his head recovers from the murder he just committed. - "If you're scared for me, I'll let you hold my hand when we go... No I'm not scared, I specifically said it was for you if you're scared! ... Ok, maybe I'm a little scared--"

// School is out and Christmas with my boyfriend is over(he flew home yesterday), so I'm officially coming back! To prevent myself from being overwhelmed getting caught up, however, all owed drafts will be typed up first, and then queued once I've typed up every single one.

I can't guarantee that I won't need to go back on hiatus once school starts back up late January, but I'll have a solid month or so of writing with ya'll at the very least(and I'm only take one class next semester so hopefully I can still write). Thanks for understanding as always!

Slooowly starting to ease myself back into if-writing after the Relicsopalypse a couple of months ago. I just replayed through all of Shadowrun: Neon Fire for the first time in ages, and am about to get back into writing again. I plan to spend this evening making actual progress on the first main run! Wish me luck!

In the interim, I thought I’d give you all a little bit of juice on how the friendship and relationships mechanics are going to work in Neon Fire. It’s under the cut, for those who are interested.

So, there’s really three kinds of things at play with your companions in the game. Friendship, Romance and Loyalty.

Friendship is simple enough, You need to hang out with your crew-members, get to know them, and see whether or not they like you! (Or, if you’re devious, figure out what kind of people they like and manipulate them into liking you!) For the most part, the real friendship- and relationship-building stuff that happens will happen in the market hub in between missions, when you’ll have chances to hang out with them, sometimes individually and sometimes as a whole group. This is where you can impress/ disgust/ disappoint/ seduce them over time. Each chance you have to talk to your companions will give you one opportunity to flirt with them (I’ll make sure to include bold and shy options, since people seem to like this). Once you’ve flirted enough times with a character, you’ll be offered the option to ask them out on a date. If you want to romance that character, you should do this.

Any character you ask on a date will agree to go with you - but they won���t agree to locking in a relationship unless they actually like you by that point, so you need to keep an eye on their approval if you’re looking for romance with them. The dates themselves will be fun little scenes, which I’ve already basically figured out. Smoky will take you to the Mitsuhama Robot Park, a drone-themed theme park in Neo-Tokyo, where you can go on rides, try to win prizes, or even take on Smoky themselves in the Battle-Bot Arena! Blackhat will take you to the local retro video game arcade, where you can play famous twentieth century classics like Street Warrior 2 and Daytona Beach Racers. Daisho will take you to a quiet place outside the city where they like to meditate, where you can hang out and (if you feel brave) even go skinny-dipping by a waterfall. And Crowley will take you to their favourite dive-bar to watch their favourite punk band, where you can cause trouble and get into a confrontation with a biker gang! If, at the end of the date, they like you enough, you’ll have the chance to lock in your romance!

There’s also Loyalty, which is mostly a separate mechanic. If you get into a relationship with one of them, they’ll automatically become loyal. But each of them will also come to you for help at one point, effectively giving you a “side-quest” to undertake. If you succeed in helping them, they will also become loyal. Making a companion loyal will unlock Sync Moves: moments both in and out of combat when your and your friend’s skills and talents combine to spectacular effect to get past some obstacle or other.

Anyway, back to the code-face. I’ll keep you posted on progress!
