HELLO MY FELLOW CAINE SIMP
I'm glad I'm not the only one simping for him.
I have one idea for request. How about the fact that reader has a tail that shows their true feelings and emotions? For example, they don't have a single emotion on their face and they talk in a flat voice. But the tail! The tip of the tail waves in different directions when *cough* Caine is nearby.
Reader is embarassed
Caine x reader w/ a tail!
last request for now then imma go take a break and eat something and maybe work on art! ill get right back to requests sometime this afternoon, most likely!
oh anon you evil thing, youve found one of my favorite tropes; stoic character has a body part that gives off how they're feeling (long ears (ie animal or elf or even fins), wings, and of course, a tail)
no because imagine he starts catching on to you seeking him out more often and he starts lightly teasing you about you 'missing him' or 'having a crush on him'
your lack of emotion facially puts him off, thinking that hes genuinely making a fool of himself, but then he catches a glimpse of your tail; wagging ever so slightly
oh
oh ho ho reader you poor thing, youre never going to hear the end of it
like lets assume caine has a crush on you, hes going to take this as a sign to ramp up the flirting
if you have a long tail, he probably toys with it a bit while pointing out the tail flicking, though i dont think he would do this as soon as he notices the flipping. i think when hes certain that the feelings are mutual, he doesnt want to risk scaring you off or making a wrong assumption
even after you two get together hes going to constantly bring it up
"im mad at you" *tail swishes around*
no because that^ i love stuff like that; even through your own feelings regarding whatever the current situation is, you cant help but feel happy when you find that hes okay and thriving

Hi! I'm new around your ask box, your blog in general, but it's been keeping me so entertained with all the writing for these characters i've never even paid attention to before! Keep up the good work, you got me to be interested in reading the HG novels, haha.
Anyway, since you recently published work on Dr. Gaul I feel like this would be the most appropriate time to talk about it. I don't know if you've ever explored this concept before, or if someone has already mentioned it to you or if it's just common knowledge in the fan base, but the fact that Dr. Gaul hadn't considered Coriolanus' proposal of 'getting people attached to the tributes' for the past 9 editions is so fascinating? It's such a basic concept in writing, people will want more out of something they care for—usually and especially characters— that it boggles my mind that it wasn't something she considered before (though, to her credit, applying fiction logic to a gore fest reality show does seem pretty unconventional. Or maybe it's a case of Oops! Missed something obvious!).
It makes me wonder a couple of things about her and her worldview. She spends the entire movie (and I assume, the book) harping on about humanity's inherent savagery, yet she considered that empathy and sentimentality could get in the way of what's allegedly biological? Is that why she saw Snow as so promising? Because on top of proving her right he proved that even human kindness can be weaponized to favor violence?
I'm so sorry for the long ask I ended up rambling too much but i thought you'd be the only person in the fanbase at the moment who'd engage in Dr. Gaul discussion lol!
Oh, hello, anon! Welcome! Always happy to answer asks, no matter the length! Feel free to ramble!
Also with the exception of Gaul, there might be a good reason no one pays attention to the characters that I talk about (I basically made most of them up)! But I appreciate the interest! The novels are great! While I do fixate on minor characters, I do try and align what I write with the themes and ideas the novels explore, so there's still plenty of appeal to them! Just don't expect the Ravinstills to be a really big part of them lol (Gaul discussion under the cut)
To me, Volumnia doesn't seem like the type to care if people watch the Games. Like I know she reacts like this in the book:
Dean Highbottom shot Dr. Gaul a look. “You see? It’s a failed experiment.” “It is if no one watches!” she snapped back. She gave Coriolanus an indulgent smile. “He’s a child himself. Give him time. I’ve got a good feeling about this one. Well, I’m off to visit my mutts.” (Ch. 4)
But to me, I think it only starts mattering to her, because there's this implication that if they don't start raising viewership (or having some more concrete worth to the Capitol), then the Games will end, and she would hate for her little experiment annual art installation to be taken down. I think part of the reason that she doesn't come up with getting people attached to the Tributes is that she gets tunnel vision. She doesn't understand why no one can see her thesis statement. The worth of the Games is self-explanatory to her because of her worldview. How can she get people to see what should be obvious? The Games for her are the point in themselves— her little microcosm of the world reflecting her ideology. If the people don't understand the message right in front of them, then they're fools.
Volumnia Gaul, in my mind (and like many people in the Capitol), is a hypocrite. She'll say that humanity is inherently savage and then close her eyes to any signs of empathy and compassion happening around her (and in her Games). I think that she latches onto Snow, because she sees the seeds of ambition and the desperation of someone on a shorter leash than most in him. He's the perfect candidate for someone she can mold into understanding her worldview (and I think he reminds her of President Ravinstill, but that's fully me taking vague subtextual friendship between her and Pres. R and turning it into a whole thing). I also think that Crassus Snow being someone who used his best friend to get ahead and also was likely fully okay with an idea like the Hunger Games, plays a part in her initial interest in Snow. (Also in the above quote? I love that she's already got an eye on him! "I have a good feeling about this one." ehjtkrhjk)
I think Snow's weaponizing of empathy is actually very appealing to her like you say! I think she sees it as a way to rationalize acts of kindness and sentiment as something rooted in her idea of humanity's inherent violence! She gets to use him as a case study for that even if not all his kindness was a way to get ahead. Her whole worldview maintains itself through confirmation bias, and I think what she thinks of Snow is no different. She actively shapes him, and then probably turns around and goes "see that? human nature."
Anyway, I hope I answered all your questions! Once, I start typing I get a little lost, so if you'd like elaboration or clarification or just have another question, let me know!
And as always, these are, of course, just my two cents. There's definitely many ways to interpret Gaul and just everything.
I am also surprised that there isn't more discussion on Volumnia though... Like there are a few others, who contemplate her as well, but I thought there would be more. Anyway, thanks for the ask again, anon!

I think people forget that Yuji naka lost his magic in the last years of his career. I don't care about the inside trading. That kind of crime isn't a big deal to me but you cant blame Square enix for getting pissed at that. I'm personally more upset to see him burning every bridge he build on social media like a sad old grumpy man and treating the Balan wonderworld crew like shit when he got full creative control and he blew it
His design choice for the controller is abysmal, and Sonic fans who pretend there's nothing wrong with the guy or that his talented skills makes up for the way he treats people should be reconsidering their priorities.
Last I heard, he was considering going indie by creating a game with Unity.
In hindsight: welp.
No offense, anon, but this is kinda why I don't like discussing Yuji Naka. I feel like people want you to condemn the guy, and I'm just not into that. It's a difficult conversation, and to be frank, I don't really personally care for the guy compared to Ohshima and co.
Not to mention there's a lot of stuff we're just not privy to and it can be difficult to determine what's conjecture and what's not. Yes, Naka did heavily presume on Geist Force's team, but articles I've read have noted that the reasons Geist Force got scrapped were because the crew kept missing deadlines and Sega didn't have much confidence in the project to begin with. Naka speaking in Japanese in front of the dev team (who he assumed didn't understand Japanese) about how he wanted to take the code for Sonic and subsume them was absolutely a dick move, but I'm hesitant to call the incident the reason Geist Force got nixed.
To be crystal clear, I don't say any of this to defend Naka, just to try and remain objective. But I tend to find that people focus on things that don't matter when it comes to him. One time I had to stop watching an otherwise informative video on the development of Adventure-era games because the video essayist kept harping on Naka's love of sports cars as if that was significant to his douchebaggery somehow. Bigger fish to fry, you know?
More broadly, it's tempting to say that someone who turns out to be a flaming bag of dicks never had talent to begin with. It's natural to want to say they "lost their touch," but the harsh truth is that even assholes and bad people are capable of creating art we enjoy, including hugely popular and seminal work that touches the lives of millions like Sonic.
If it's true that good people are capable of creating bad characters without the exercise reflecting on their personal character, the inverse can also be true. However, Yuji's contributions to the series can't really be denied when he basically directed the Classics.
Based on what I've heard about him, I'm not inclined to like him as a person. But, loath as I am to say it,
A.) it's also true that the conversation gets muddied by people who want to scapegoat him for everything wrong with the series. They tend to demonize him, exaggerate his assholery, or belittle his contributions in order to square their cognitive dissonance rather than sit with it, (taps sign)
and B.) like it or not, being an asshole, even the kind of asshole who blacks out pictures of former colleagues, isn't a crime.
His crimes are what they are; talent or lack thereof has little bearing on them.

Off the back of your RPF post (which I wholeheartedly endorse, support, etc), why do critics totally forget the concept of public personas? We all have them (see any social media account, work! You versus friends! You, etc), so why are people being so precious about RPF being the Nice and Accurate Representation of someone?
note 1) Once upon a time, I [very stupidly, in retrospect, but fuelled entirely by morbid curiosity] dipped into some RPF about two people I had worked with and, naturally, it was in no way like the people involved. Of course it wasn't. Because the people in real life are sometimes pathologically shy or have a really terrible sense of humour or don't give a damn about the character they're playing, but get paid a lot to sound like they do. The exact opposite is also true.
You are 1000% right that the critics who spout awful nonsense about reading/writing RPF totally miss the part where the people in RPF do not exist because we as fans do not know strangers' personalities.
But also...
note 2) there's a reason famous people generally keep stuff like that at arm's length because, really, can you imagine someone shipping you with Jan from Accounts and then reading about it? No? Exactly.
Yikes. Sorry. This wasn't meant to come off as a rant, more a co-sign to what you wrote! Just wanted to reach out and agree. I've no need/desire for you to respond if you don't fancy it :)
(Also, sorry Jan from Accounts, I'm sure you're lovely, I just don't have the spoons for that kind of relationship)
Yes! ABSOLUTELY.
Regarding note 1: Anon, I KNOW THAT FEEL. There are Folks on tumblr here and also In Various Public Spaces that I definitely work with and/or exist alongside in the same work community, and what fans (or, in some cases, just people outside that work community) believe those Folks are like in Real Life is... deeply inaccurate. But what few things they do "know" are "facts" that have been specifically shared as part of the persona! And where there are gaps in the persona (similar to where there are gaps in a piece of media), fans will add their own emotional narrative logic to try and fill in the blanks-- and the folly comes (as anyone who goes ALL IN on a piece of fanon or personal heartcanon) from believing that the shit you made up is somehow actually true.
And regarding note 2: YES ALSO ABSOLUTELY. Like, let people make their own terrible decisions because they are goddamn adults and/or let them curate their experience with the help of their actual friends. We can't know what these Public People want to do! We can't know what they're okay with! STOP SHOWING UP IN THEIR LIVING ROOM, FFS.
John Oliver has a delightful story about reading Daily Show slash RPF that he got from a friend (or so he says, in the middle of a comedy show, which is also a crafted work that could be full of lies for the sake of the narrative). In his comedy narrative, he wasn't into it! But even assuming it's all true, it was his choice to continue reading, and his choice to turn it into a comedy routine. Because he is an adult who gets to make that choice.
2010s bandom, on the other hand, was a cornucopia of RPF because the bands publicly talked about or referenced reading fic about themselves (to the degree that a common fic warning was "Stop googling yourself, Gabe"). They also got to make that decision! Fans got kind of uncomfortable about it! Bandom looked into the void and the void looked back and said "That was hot."
(Meanwhile, if you continue to believe John Oliver's comedy routines, he also discusses the ramifications of googling yourself, but by god, it's still his choice to make.)
(...And because of these choices he and his writing team on Last Week Tonight have been able to do some truly fantastic shenanigans, including, for instance, collecting digital data from Congress using ads for "Ted Cruz erotic fan fiction". So like. Even personal tragedy can lead to Art, so jot that down.)
Finally, Zach Kornfeld from the Try Guys (which hey if we wanna talk about the difference between personas and reality, ahahaha) specifically discusses what it means to be reliant on the parasocial relationship between audience and creator:
You know, look, the parasocial relationship is the only reason I'm here. It's the people who watch me, I owe them everything and I wanna give them everything. But there has to be boundaries you create. It's a really tricky thing. I also don't want to abuse that relationship. I think it's really easy to look at your audience and go, like, "We're friends," and "Come on, you love me, support me." We're not friends. You don't know me. I'm lying to you all the time. I'm curating what I give you. I'm trying to make myself look as good as possible. The job of a creator is to be as broadly likable as possible all the time.
And like... yeah. YEAH.
RPF is fiction. From the top to the bottom, from the beginning to the end. And the moment you think any of it actually touches on the """truth""" of a real person, you are the one making things fucking weird.

Is there a list of rules of what types of ask we can send? If there isn't, maybe you should make one.
You know what, I'm just going to pin this answer. I've talked about it a few times, but I've never made a full list because there's very little I won't answer. The important thing to remember is that this blog is primarily an archive for artwork, lore and concepts for an AU Bragi and I are RPing on discord, but this is not an RP blog itself.
As a general rule, think of these asks as like a formal interview with actors and you should be fine.
Do not:
Send asks directly interacting with Philip/Belos or Astrophel like the anon inviting Philip to dance;. NOTE: This is especially important in regards to the limited interactions, if your intent is to create a situation for them to react to, you are not part of that situation . (see below). You are not a character in our RP
Don't send us... meme-y stuff that makes no sense out of context. Best example I can give is that a while back someone dropped a ProZD quote in the askbox and neither Bragi nor I knew what to do with it so I just deleted it. On a similar note, don't be deliberately mean to them, I will read that as anon hate and delete it.
I don't expect everyone to know the history of everything, so if you're off by a few years about when something was invented, like the shampoo ask that's fine, but don't ask a 16th century man about his thoughts on modern luxuries and technologies (you could ask Emperor Belos, but I'll just let you know right now that most of his opinions are that he stopped caring forty something years ago)
Please do
Send flavorful asks to the characters about their (era appropriate) opinions, relationships, thoughts on other characters, or
Send me or Bragi asks about them, changes to other canon characters, world building, lore, OCs like the Archivists or the Grimwalkers previous to Hunter.
Wanna know what your other faves are up to in this AU? the answer might be, "Bragi and I haven't discussed that" but you're welcome to ask, and we may even talk about it and come up with something before I answer.
Basically anything, besides the points on the Do Not list. If it's something I'm not okay answering I will only publish it to say so if you're on anon. if you're signed in, I will answer privately and actually probably work with you on how to put your ask in a way that makes it something I can or am willing to respond to.
Limited interactions
Key word here is limited.
You're still not a character that can interact with them, but an ask like "-gives Astrophel a story book-" is fine, it'll be treated like just getting an anonymous present
or "-a freak Boiling Rain storm blows in-" basically an act of god
Put these boys in Situations. You're not participating in the Situations with them, but you can create the Situations
Please, if your intent is to create a situation don't be vague about what's going on, or godmod
Since this blog is for sharing art and lore for a Discord RP, I prioritize RP related content, meaning if I want to draw a scene or add a new lore post, or even draw something silly for myself, I will do that before I answer asks. If I have not answered an ask you sent within one to two weeks, you can assume I've deleted it, either because it violated one of the rules or because I just didn't know how to reply to it.

Is it hard to do FTH as a first-time creator? Even if just doing one fan work up for auction?
Hi anon!
I'm assuming you mean signing up to offer a fanwork when you've never made one before. (If I misinterpreted that just send me another ask)
To that I would say that it largely depends on you.
Signing up to join the event is simple and being a first time creator won't hinder the process at all. Just fill out the google form for each fanwork you'd like to offer. You'll be able to include in your auction the length/complexity of the fanwork you want to offer, any subject matter/character/ship you are uncomfortable working with, what you are interested in including, and whatever else you feel is important for your bidders to know before going in.
But as advice, when signing up for the auction (and this goes for everyone), be realistic in what your are able to offer. Give yourself some leniency so you don't commit to something you can't complete. All fanworks are due December 31st so plan accordingly.
During the auction you should also be aware that you likely will get fewer bids than a more experienced creator in the same fandom. Each creator has the option to link to their past work (their ao3 account, an art specific tumblr etc) so bidders can determine if they will be a good fit. If you don't have that there are some people that simply won't bid on your auction even if your offer is something they would be interested in.
That being said, every bidder has a different criteria for when and why they bid on an auction so there may still be people interested in your offer. FTH also uses the Golden Needle tag to point people towards auctions without bids during the final few days of the auction!
You should also be a aware that your highest bidder gets a say in what you make. You will be tailoring your fanwork to their ideas. Some people struggle with that while others enjoy having a prompt to work off of. If this is your first fanwork, I would suggest you take advantage of the Regiment of Fan Laborers, especially if you find yourself having trouble.
Hopefully this helps you make a decision about joining FTH, we are always happy to have more creators!
If you have any other questions or concerns I'll be happy to help!
#ask me whatever you want y'all#fth 2024#fandom trumps hate#I hope this helps#I know it can be daunting but we're here to help#some people don't get bids on their works but don't get discouraged#we do our best to help your auction reach prospective bidders

Hey it’s your favorite anon again! At least I HOPE I’m your favorite… (just to be clear I am the one who sent you that long post a while back talking about how much I loved your stuff and you posted it so… ya, hopefully?? I’m just going to assume that’s a ‘yes’)
But enough about me. I’m here to again tell you how much I’ve been loving your last few works - OFMD but they’re ladies part two was great! So clever and lovely and funny. LOVE.
Also loved this last ‘kissy’ one. It was so beautifully drawn. Love that emotional embrace and you really just get them ‘right’ - not even sure how to put it other than that! No one (IMO) gets them quite as right as you do.
And it’s not just those - I’ve loved every single work! All your posts have been so lovely. Just top notch as far as I’m concerned.
So I just wanted to tell you I’ve been keeping up with your stuff and it’s still blowing me away !
Signed, Your friend (in my fantasy world), your Favorite Anon.
Aw thank you so much, anon! I had said that before and I'll say it again, your messages make all the work I've put into creating a drawing actually worth something. I live for the applause, I guess lol but for real, I'm so happy you still enjoy my art and that you took the time to share this sentiment with me!
and ofc you're my favorite anon lmao, I mean, I don't get this kinda asks too often so obviously I remember you fondly lol
#now this makes me want to devote some time to my wips instead of just fucking around lol#I mean you can always dm me off anon to try to actually be friends with me lol

Hi! I'm new to the helluva/hazbin rp scene so I wanted to show my OC off. Additionally I can be found @missfidggy and that's where my scribbles of her are as well. Eventually I'll draw nicer art but what I have there will work for now!
Name: Fidget or "Fidggy" by her friends Race: Imp
Age: 26
Gender: Female
Appearance: Fidggy looks like most imp females. Black hair, mostly red horns with black stripes. She keeps her rather messy hair up in pigtails and has black spines going from her head to her back. She's also short even by imp standards.
Personality: Fidggy is a hard worker and relatively kind, though being hell-born does allow for her to give every bit that's dished out to her in kind if someone pushes her. She works on weapons all day and if someone thinks she doesn't know how to use them then that's their funeral.
Background: Fidggy has lived in Imp City her whole life, having been raised by an exhausted father who really didn't know how to take care of her. Her father worked in a grueling forge all day and her mother was not in the picture. After a brief stint in the Pride Ring with a sinner who began a cult focused on imps, she returned to Imp City with some rare materials, and no desire to tell her tale. At this point she joined her father in the forge, creating what their boss had requested of them, while also working on more specialized weapons on the side and selling them as a side gig. The money eventually went towards her own shop and a small forge. Unfortunately, when her boss realized that she was not coming back and had been using his forge to make personal commissions, he chose to enact revenge by killing her father. Now she's just working to try and pick up the pieces of her life and just keeping herself busy after the loss of her parent.
Welcome to the rp Fidget!!
I assume you’ll sign her rp messages using “fidget” or “fidget anon” so we know she’s the one who talks :3
Also did you mean white and black? Cause I don’t think there’s any imps with red and black (of course it’s fine to have differences in looks, this blog is just for fun after all)

anon from before here. listen, I was only on the fringes of the fandom and not personally involved in your drama, so I'm probably not the person to talk to.
you did not answer my question about nobody loving Rooster except you, so I assume it's because you do know that it's a false generalised statement. also, you ARE allowed to love the thing you love, just maybe not on the server. again, another statement that is not true. I sympathise with the fact that it's hard to be in fandom on your own, but that door is closed now. it sucks, but learn from it and move on. you say you still have some people to talk to, so that's a start.
please stop painting yourself as a martyr. no one asked you to be one or create content to make up for whatever it is you did. from what I see, people just want to move on and have fun in their corner. let them be. enjoy the things you like with whomever you can find. stop making public posts with false generalised statements that only seem to be there to get a reaction out of someone.
again: let them be. if you care about those people, let them go and try to find some peace for your own. I don't think you're a monster, but I do think you need to get some professional help. it's been months and you can't let go and you seem like you're stuck in a loop of navel-gazing and denial and like you can find your own way out of it.
Of course, it's a generalized statement - I really don't know what they feel about Rooster, only that from my recollection, it seemed that most people liked Maverick better. And I did once, too. I genuinely would love to talk to people about Rooster and Maverick and gauge their thoughts on these characters - I haven't been able to do that with more than a handful of people for this entire year - but obviously I'm only going by the thin sliver of discussion that I am privy to anymore.
And of course the fun part was being able to talk to writers about their writing! I could write comments, but I know they won't be answered, and that was what I was here for - to be able to engage meaningfully in fandom with its content creators. That's the part that makes me sad - I've just always wanted to support people, and I am no longer allowed to (in a way that is engaging to me - obviously, I can leave unanswered comments, but that really does nothing for me). I know they're doing the comment bingo thing, and it's like *sighs* I can't even participate in stuff like that anymore. I just wanted to love a thing with other people.
I am letting go and trying to find peace, but when they are probably 90% of the content creation, and the people that I had spent the most formative months of my fandom with, it's hard to pretend that I didn't know them, or that a very significant chunk of my life didn't happen. I have been forced to sign an NDA for a fandom, which is something that I genuinely have no idea how to navigate around. Nonetheless, if I ever mention any people, it will only be good things about them. They were wonderful people, and I wish they didn't feel the way they do about me, but that's okay - I can't change how others feel.
But I am going to keep making public posts because when you are kept in solitary confinement, any sort of interaction - even if it's to call me an idiot, loser, freak, or monster - is welcomed. I'd love to post genuine RoosMav works on here, like art, etc., like I used to, but I know they are just going to be ignored like everything else I do. And like I've said - people can always block me.
It's just sad to me that this is all because of fandom. Where we are supposed to be having fun. I've still tried to be as normal as possible by commenting on the occasional works, but it is hard to have the heart to do so in a genuinely enthusiastic capacity anymore.

hello there! 👋
Mun is 30+ years old / irish / GMT+0 timezone; call me nix! I track the #iobartach tag
i work a full-time job, soooo real life will take priority over tumblr'ing at all times. hence, it will mean that thread replies will be slow. like, a few weeks slow, so sorry in advance about that!
this blog will feature my own take on miguel o'hara, and is inspired by both the across the spider-verse film and the 2099 comics! i also draw influence from the usual scifi / dystopian things; bladerunner, cyberpunk 2077, altered carbon to name a few, so if there's anything you'd like to know or clarify, feel free to reach out!
i would also like it to be known that my version of miguel is not here to be either an instant ship or a punching bag. i understand the appeal and the temptation, and that, particularly in the across the spider-verse movie, he's coded as the antagonist, but please don't assume he's here for automatic smut, or to be hated on or humiliated by your characters! thank you!
mun has no triggers; is open to rping just about anything but smut!
shipping? ehhhhhhhh we’ll seeee :’) i'm kinda the type to ease into that stuff, if at all. friendships tho? enemies? 👀 sign me uppp for such plots!
not mutually exclusive! And aye, i'm all for following and interacting with other miguels out there!
given the nature of this muse (read; freaky half-spider lad), themes of body horror and experimentation will crop up from time to time, but i try my best to put such darker stuff under read mores & attach 'tw'/trigger tags on it
i absolutely adore crossovers of all types! i would be delighted to throw miguel at you!
will rp with canons & oc’s!
asks! memes! the whole lot! i absolutely adore writing up things based on them! most of the time i tend to answer asks in their own posts, as i make the assumption that folks may want to continue them in a thread, so feel free to reblog anything i've answered that i've tagged you in, if you'd like to keep on going!
but please, for the anons exclusively; don't send me anything heinous / aimed at underaged muses. i'll just end up deleting it.
same goes for sending in memes; absolutely feel free to browse through my meme prompts tag and send in anything you like! the memes i reblog don't have 'expiry' times, so if you see some prompt you are tempted to use, go for it!
and ditto if you would ever like to randomly interact; i loooove receiving just random asks with a bit of context to them <3
where possible ... pleeeease reblog memes and art / musings / etc posts from the source? it's beginning to get rather frustrating when i see people i haven't even said two words to yet just yoink a post off me 😅 and from now on, i'll be blocking any blog that does this! i'm tired!
lastly, i get it that sometimes things just don't work out between muns and muses, and that's okay!!! life happens! i'm completely fine with it, won't even hold it against ya. but, if at all possible, can i invite you to approach me with why you're blocking me first, instead of just doing it out of the blue? i'm aware there can be valid reasons, but i am here and willing to listen. cheers :')
and if you're in the business of repeatedly softblocking, feel free to just block me instead. i won't make a habit of chasing after folks like that, or have my time be wasted, without any explanation(s) provided. thank you. 👍
We're here for a good time Not a long time (not a long time) So have a good time The sun can't shine every day

I will do anything for @giggles-and-freckles, one of the smartest, most talented, most compassionate writers in the fandom! Plus, I've also been on a...I don't know...working sabbatical in fandom? I don't know. Let's do this!
What book are you currently reading?
I've just picked up This Is How You Lose the Time War because Bigolas Dickolas told me to. I've been looking for sapphic (YA specifically, but also in general) as a close family member came out to me last year, and I want to send them art they can see themselves in. So if you've got any recs, throw them my way! I'm also reading Mirror of My Heart: A Thousand Years of Persian Poetry by Women. It's incredible, and still rings so true and relevant today!
What’s your favourite movie you saw in theatres this year?
Well, lol, I saw RotK in theatres this year and obviously loved it. We're at 23 theatrical viewings now, which is excellent news for Peter Jackson's bank account.
What do you usually wear?
I either dress like a teenage boy or like a romantic heroine. Depends what time I get up in the morning.
How tall are you?
5′8" and a bit. The bit is important. I wanted to be 5'10" but...alas.
What’s your star sign? Do you share a birthday with a celebrity or a historical event?
Gemini, baby! Same as Liam Neeson.
Do you go by your name or a nickname?
I usually go by Tess.
Did you grow up to become what you wanted to be when you were a child?
By hook or by crook. I've wanted to be in my profession since I was a kid. Am I successful in it? I'm not...I'm not as low down as I could be. But I'm also not progressing, so...lol. I'm deluded? Idk.
Are you in a relationship? If not, who is your crush if you have one?
Acespec here. Not that I don't have crushes but like, very rarely, and I am not in a relationship.
What’s something you’re good at vs. something you’re bad at?
I think I'm good at singing and soccer, and bad at sword and ballet.
Dogs or cats?
I love both my children equally.
If you draw/write, or create in any way, what’s your favourite picture/favourite line/favourite etc. from something you created this year?
Man, I have basically written nothing of worth this year except a couple zine contributions that I'm really proud of! But I will say my dad sent me a beautiful line of prose the other day that really struck me!
The heaviness of death plummets through the Force like an ancient leadline in freefall through the endless fathoms of the sea.
I was very complimentary of it, assuming he'd written it and was sharing it with me.
No.
I wrote it. He was trying to compliment me. WELP!
What’s something you’d like to create content for?
I wish I were a more visceral smut writer.
What’s something you’re currently obsessed with?
We're a little bit still in our LOTR hyperfixation but I think...overall...we're in a lull. Shhh! Don't wake it up!
What’s something you were excited about that turned out to be disappointing this year?
I was really hoping to build my career more this year, but well, there's a strike. So.
What’s a hidden talent of yours?
I am...really...good at..........Oh! I can make a loon sound with my hands!
Are you religious?
Absolutely not. Nothing against people who are religious -- lots of my friends here find their faith really important and I'm really happy they have such a such foundation for themselves! But yeah, it's not for me!
What’s something you wish to have at this moment?
MACARONS!

Tag Game To Better Know You
I have been tagged in so many things by so many of you lovely people in the midst of my sorta-hiatus and I would break the internet if I tried to catch up...but I like this one because it feels like a good little re-intro into the Tumblr world. :-)
What book are you currently reading?
The Writing Revolution...I can't in good conscience recommend it unless you also happen to find yourself as a teacher trying to capture teenagers' imaginations and get them to produce complete sentences! Hahahaha. Miserable toil.
What’s your favourite movie you saw in theatres this year?
Ooh, this one's easy--The Little Mermaid!! I have seen it with my family twice and then with my friends once. (I felt a little freer to lust after Prince Eric when my husband and two children weren't sitting there with me...)
What do you usually wear?
These days, some form of athleisure. During the school year, I've been told my teacher style is "Jessica Day if she didn't care so much" and...that about sums it up.
How tall are you?
5′5″ AND A HALF (alternatively: taller than @stolen-pen-name23 which is all that truly matters in this world)
What’s your star sign? Do you share a birthday with a celebrity or a historical event?
Cancer...I think? Malala Yousafzai and Henry David Thoreau!
Do you go by your name or a nickname?
Most folks IRL call me Abigail. It's just my brothers, husband, and you guys who call me Abi!
Did you grow up to become what you wanted to be when you were a child?
Absolutely not. I wanted to be a lawyer my entire life. My undergrad was pre-law and then life had other plans for me and now I'm teaching 8th grade American History. And LOVING IT. I start grad school in the fall and I'll be getting my Principal's Certification with that, so I suppose I'm in this education world for the long haul.
Are you in a relationship? If not, who is your crush if you have one?
I am tragically married. Sorry to all interested parties!
What’s something you’re good at vs. something you’re bad at?
I'm fairly good with piano and singing. I'm terrible at cooking.
Dogs or cats?
Dogs forever and ever!
If you draw/write, or create in any way, what’s your favourite picture/favourite line/favourite etc. from something you created this year?
Oh my. I haven't written as much as I'd like to this year (although I'm hoping to post something before the weekend!!) so I'm choosing to interpret this as the last 12 months. Maybe this bit from walking by her side, talking by her side, have pity?
He holds out his hand, wondering if she’ll bare touching him. “Goodbye, Leia.”
She is not a girl of gentleness—this, he can tell. But she accepts the hand like she’s afraid to shatter it. “Goodbye.”
“Saying my name won’t hurt you, you know,” he says, refusing to be the first to let go.
“Remind me?”
He rolls his eyes. “Anakin Skywalker.”
“Skywalker, you said?” she echoes, and lets their hands fall between them. She opens the door and smiles teasingly at him, tilting her head. “Interesting. That was my father’s name.”
What’s something you’d like to create content for?
I think I'm forever stuck in my prequels hell!
What’s something you’re currently obsessed with?
Ur mom. Okay...sorry. Ahem. I've been sewing more lately. I used ot dabble in high school, but I'm finding more motivation to make things for my toddler than I did to make things for myself.
What’s something you were excited about that turned out to be disappointing this year?
The weather recently! It was supposed to rain the past couple weeks and we've not gotten much more than a few minutes of sprinkling. I looooove rainy days, so that's bummed me out quite a bit.
What’s a hidden talent of yours?
I'm excellent at whistling. It's completely useless, but I'll get compared to a Disney princess occasionally, so I guess that's something.
Are you religious?
Yes. My faith is very important to me, but it's *my* faith, so I don't feel the need to bring it up with strangers unless asked about it. (Crazy concept, right?)
What’s something you wish to have at this moment?
A cuppa tea...so I think I'll go put the kettle on byeeeee
No pressure tags: @pandora15 @stolen-pen-name23 @tessiete @ilonga @kckenobi & anyone who wants to join in the fun!

Hello! Can i request some Izumi Sena and Leo Tsukinaga with a s/o who is a airhead in disguise but a badass in secret? Thank you!

Izumi + Leo (separate) with an s/o who's an airhead in disguise but secretly a badass
🍂Sena Izumi
Poor Izumi. He already has a tight schedule, and now he has to take care of his s/o 24/7?! Welp. Sign him up, since his s/o can't take care of themselves, he might as well bring them with him overseas. LOL.
Since his s/o is an airhead, they absolutely do not mind Izumi dragging them to different places for work. They would just go with the flow called Sena Izumi.
The s/o also thinks that Izumi's nagging (mom-like) behavior is how he shows his affection. Thus, they would crave Izumi's attention like a child.
To add more, if the s/o is up to some mischief, they would call Izumi their mom or say: "Thanks mom, you know that I can't live without you."
They are really thankful for Izumi being attentive to their needs; that's why whenever someone or some group of people would threaten Izumi's career, they would face them head-on. If it gets physical, Izumi would be startled as they avoid the enemies' attacks and bring them to their knees.
Izumi would then be left tongue-tied. Questioning himself: who is the real knight between the two of you?
In reply, his s/o would assure him that their family forced them to learn martial arts since they're an airhead. But they specifically didn't tell Izumi that they had a black belt.
"Your hair's all messed up. I'll fix it for you so stay still."
🍂Tsukinaga Leo
Airhead x airhead. Your relationship would be a blessing to Leo because who wouldn't want an s/o who's like him?
If by chance his s/o becomes lost and Leo's also nowhere to be found, rip, you would be the first one to find him. Leo would then ask how, and you would tell him that you just somehow found him while you were lost. He would then hum shortly, "Hmmm. So how about you stay here with me?"
Trust me, unlike Izumi, Leo knows your secret. But he will brush it off as being the airhead he is. This is because he finds your act cute and claims that you are his airhead.
As a knight, like Izumi, he also drags you to places where he will go. This means that if Leo is nowhere to be found, they will assume that you're together or vice-versa.
If by chance, the two of you witness the weak being bullied, Leo would tell you to stay back and do the dirty work. But you would be true to yourself and fight alongside him. Plus, you are very confident in your skills.
Leo would then be astonished at your skills and would not mind you being a badass since you are his s/o. However, he would still tell you that fighting is dangerous and that you can only fight when he's with you.
"It's already that late?! Why didn't you tell me??? Oh, you also forgot. Then, come sit beside me. There's something I want you to hear."
maow's notes: Thanks anon for the request. I'm sorry it took a while, + it's also lengthy. Hope you like it

Someone sent an ask for The Beginner's Guide, but I'm going to put it under a cut because talking about the game at all is a spoiler.
anon asked: saw your post about the beginners guide, downloaded it for myself, and uh.. I think I only understood about half of what was going on. Do you mind sharing some thoughts about the game? my interpretation was that it was a lot of projection but I think there's more to it than that?
Everything about the game is going to be subjective to you and your experiences, but for me, TBG is one of the most vicious and clear-eyed examples of the divide between creator and audience, the way audiences can feel ownership over someone else's work, and how that spins out of control into feeling ownership of a creator.
Davey is frankly a really good, painfully accurate representation of how audiences overstep their boundaries in relation to art. He feels that because he has access to Koda's work, he knows Koda as a person. But the only thing Davey has and owns is himself, and the way Koda's work makes him personally feel, and it's important to know that Koda literally doesn't have anything to do with that.
For me, as someone who is a creator, who has been judged for the work I do, and who has frankly seen a lot of creators endure this overstepping of boundaries, TBG is the best parable (lol) I know for this topic.
My takeaway from TBG as a creator is to guard myself more carefully, to understand that sharing my work does not mean I am required to share myself, and that I cannot ever control how people react to my work and thus, their reaction is not my responsibility.
My takeaway as a consumer of media, especially of small niche creators, is to remember boundaries, to never assume I truly know a person based off their work, and frankly to keep my distance. TBG is not the only reason but is a contributing factor to why I don't tend to follow the social media of creators I admire and like. I prefer to keep the separation there, for my safety and for theirs.
(Also I'm of the opinion that while its very funny to me that a lot of people responded to TBG with "WAIT IS KODA REAL? ARE THEY REAL?" it also is a sign of how deeply TBG affected the audience. The twist that Davey has made you complicit without your consent in this transgression is masterfully done and it fucking scared people. I hope that fear is a lesson to people who have ever treated a real creator in this way.)
Also I belatedly want to make it clear: TBG is not a criticism of critical analysis (as was some people's take-away) but of when that analysis exceeds the work to become analysis of the creator. When you write meta about a story, you cannot try to become the creator's therapist. You only reveal things about yourself in doing so.

It still baffles me that there are full adults with working lives that send hate online to other users because they don’t like the same fictional character or they don’t like the same fictional couple. It’s almost like a mark of maturity rather than just logic if a person just does not engage someone with opposing opinions. Which, to me, is unusual because should it not already be the standard to simply ignore that which enrages/bothers you? (Actually if you’re enraged by fictional characters, you’ve got another issue altogether lol)
I’m in multiple fandoms some of which have children or teenagers. And there’s random strife like any other fandom. However, many of these anon haters are often kids. But in the ACOTAR fandom/universe (the Maas Multiverse, maybe?) most readers are older. And they engage in sending online hate. It’s just unimaginable how telling someone to fuck off or writing 20+ reasons why they’re wrong gives any sense of satisfaction. Is it not more satisfying to cultivate an atmosphere of peace by surrounding your online self with content you ACTUALLY enjoy seeing? This applies to any social media realm honestly. People just be crazy man smh
(This is promoted just by seeing a post you made about blocking in the fandom. And I agree, it’s satisfying to know you’ve made someone so irate that they stalk you even though you’ve blocked them lol)
I'd be lying if I said I didn't understand it, because I do. Not the sending people hate thing, but the obsession with being right and having the last word. Totally get it. I do. Especially when you're in it up to the eyeballs and someone is saying things that are flagrantly untrue, it's really hard to just walk away, especially when things start to get personal. Especially when you have proof that the person is full of shit because screenshots of Discord conversations exist. And ya know. Canon exists too. 😌
But also - why are we here? Just speaking for myself, I'm not in this fandom to get into fights with people. I joined because I really enjoyed ToG, I was waiting for EoS, and I wanted more rowaelin. I wanted fan art, I wanted to read fanfic because the books weren't enough, and I wanted to find people who had the same feelings I did! I wanted people to scream happily with! That's why I joined, and that's why I'm still here. It wasn't like this pre-acosf, and I am just waiting for the next book to be announced because all of this seems oddly more related to being right than actually... liking the thing they supposedly like (although I do lowkey worry that the fandom culture has irrevocably changed.) So once people find out how wrong or right they were, hopefully there will be a huge shift and people will realize that ultimately, SJM is going to do what the fuck she wants to do, and fandom exists for us to do what we want to do.
It’s almost like a mark of maturity rather than just logic if a person just does not engage someone with opposing opinions.
This is an interesting point. It should be logic. It should be just completely normal to back away from things we don't like and move on with our lives, but at this point it is also, to me, a huge sign of how mature someone is.
In no way does it make sense to me to keep consuming media either 1) that I dislike, or 2) in a way that bothers me. That's partly why I dislike anti culture, but it's like that mindset has infiltrated the regular fandom, too.
That's why I said last week that people are slamming their thumbs with hammers and looking up with tears in their eyes trying to get sympathy. You searched those tags, logged out to find those blogs you hate who have you blocked, and went into the toxic communities, bestie. No one made you consume that. You did it. You saw it, maybe unintentionally the first time, but at this point it's been 15 months since acosf came out so I can only assume you're choosing to see it and stare at it, and now you want sympathy? lol, no.
So yeah, what does it mean that people keep repeatedly, intentionally, knowingly engaging with content they hate and then cry about it as a way to gain sympathy and clout? It's neither mature, nor logical.
(This is why I hate vaguing, too. Even if it's about an idea, and not the person who had the idea, maybe either engage with that person directly, or stfu. I make a comment about Elain being kind and then someone makes a post two seconds later about how people who think Elain is kind are idiots? Dumb fucker 🤣 it's so transparent.)
I do love knowing that people I've had blocked for months just can't stop checking my blog, though. Every time I find out it's happened, I get this grin and I start laughing like a Disney villain. It's hilarious. I live in their minds rent free, and meanwhile idek who they are.
#yes agreed#acotar fandom#fandom things#ask#anon#ugh what a mess#being here is so embarrassing sometimes#i blocked the person who vagued me about elain too#and never looked back#sorry this got long#I should have just said#yes I agree!#and hit post

duly noted

you've never been one to obsess about your soulmate, assuming you'll figure it out when the time is right. but seriously, what kind of nonsense has yours been writing about recently?
(eventual moonbyul / wheein x gender neutral reader, soulmate!au, trainee/idol!au, ~1.2k words)
a/n: wheein bias wrecker anon! I might've had too much fun with your req and so this is gonna be my first soulmate au 🤠 while byul and wheein don't actually appear in this part (does that make this a prologue? idk), I promise they'll make their appearance soon enough :)
cw: struggles of being a trainee (weight + food talk)
The claps from your dance instructor ring out in the mirrored studio, calling everyone to attention before they send you off for the day. Everyone stands around listening to whatever niceties they're talking about, asking the rhetorical questions of whether all of you want this, how everyone needs to work harder, etc. How many years has it been now, almost three? Evaluations went pretty well recently and you've certainly demonstrated signs of growth since you started, but debut? Who knows. Does anyone, really?
But right now it's late and you're hungry, hoping that your growling stomach isn't loud enough to pierce through the lecture. You're respectfully tuned out anyway, since it's all old news. Nothing you haven't heard before. They clap again once their spiel ends and everyone disperses. Your eyes catch Hyejin's on your way out of the studio, sharing a funny face and an eyeroll before disappearing into the herd of trainees shuffling to the lockers.
Your locker opens with a routine spin of the dial, taking care to slow down and line up the numbers properly so you're not stuck having to do it over again. The inside's pretty cute for a metallic rectangle— it's really the only space of your own besides your notebook. Pictures of your family, old school friends, and fellow trainee friends line the sides beneath a tiny string of battery-powered fairy lights. It's not much, but always a humbling reminder of why you're here.
Unzipping your bag, you take out a pair of slides and drop them on the floor while stepping out of your sneakers. There's not much else in your bag, just a change of clothes and your notebook, of course. Everyone has one. Anything inside could be drawn, written, scribbled, painted. It’s your personal creative space and no one else's, but with two conditions:
You can't write your name in it, not even your initials. Of course everyone tried to as kids against their parents commands, but letters simply sink into the page, disappearing as if they'd never been written at all.
You can only mark up one side. Pages on the right side are for you, and the left side pages fill themselves. Fill themselves with what? you asked your parents. They gave you a non-answer, saying you'd figure it out someday. Great. Only other thing they bothered to tell you was that your right-hand pages were someone's left-hand ones. So someone can see what I put here? Their confirmation sounded rather casual, which you found weird. Someone out there was watching what you put in? But you got used to it, especially since every person owns one. It's a novelty for children anyway. Mark up a page however you want, knowing that someone out in the would will see, and sit back to watch whatever randomness shows up on the left side.
Your left side pages were actually empty for quite a while, save for the occasional "UGGHHH" followed by a typical childish annoyance scrawled messily across the entirety of the page in marker. Not that notebook use was mandatory, but parents usually encouraged it because it kept their kids occupied. There wasn't much you could do about empty pages, nor did you care most of the time, but it did leave you a little jealous of other kids at school who'd sometimes open theirs and be greeted with cute watercolor paintings, mini murals, or skillfully written poetry.
For you, the notebook's served many uses. As a kid it was random doodles and poorly-drawn fantasy scenarios— escapism, perhaps. In middle school it was angsty poems and random journal entries about the random happenings of your life. For the first half of high school it became your to-do list, keeping track of school assignments. And on the rarest occasion, song lyrics. Visual art was never your medium of choice, music came more easily. But drawing staff lines for music notation in the notebook usually ended up being too tedious, so your original stuff was mostly relegated to voice memos on your phone. And now? Who knows. Trainee life may as well be a blur. Sing, dance, talk, eat if you can afford to, sleep, repeat. It's hard to find the energy to write anything most days. Whenever you feel like checking, the left side has random jottings, nearly illegible most of the time.
It wasn't until you got older that you realized that whoever read your entries on the was the same person generating content on the left. And supposedly the person you're supposed to be with for the rest of time? What kind of system is that? I'm just supposed to trust blindly? having asked your parents in exasperation after figuring it out. Again with more non-answers— it had worked for them, didn't it? There's also the obvious question of why people don't just write directly to each other, but whatever. You're still young, no need to obsess over "the one" unlike some of your classmates. If it's meant to be, it'll happen, you figure. And it obviously is, you've got a notebook with (semi-)filled left side pages. What more could you ask for?
The cacophony of clanging lockers opening and closing starts to die down as people leave. Hyejin's head pops out from behind the locker door, laughing in your face when you flinch.
"Ready to go?"
"Yeah, one sec. Man, I'm starving,” you remark while slipping the bag straps on your back and closing the locker door. You don't even want to know how strapped for cash you are, probably in for another night of boiled eggs and canned kimchi.
“Wanna go out for food?” she immediately asks, eyes alight at the prospect of getting to eat something besides convenience store food.
"I wish. Actually, you wish," you smirk with longing in your eyes. The "no" doesn't even have to be said, weigh-ins are way too soon to risk it. She hangs her head, jokingly dejected as you swing an arm around her shoulder to walk out of the company building together.
~~~~
After scrounging up whatever food you call dinner, taking a shower, and flopping into bed, you open up your notebook and grab the random pen laying on your dresser, unsure of what you'll write about tonight. There's chicken scratch on the left page already, ballpoint pen. It's actually legible today, though: In my room every day I see your smile.
What the hell does that mean? Whose smile, yours? You haven't even met yet.
Call me everyday every night, hug me everywhere every time
Utter nonsense. Maybe meeting soulmates is just a huge game of catch-up once everything's finally revealed, surely yours will be. There’s just so many questions. Moving to the right side, you jot down a list of cheat meal ideas along with some assorted notes and pointers from practice that you want to work on tomorrow, drawing little characters next to each list item for fun. After accidentally drawing a random squiggle from jolting yourself awake and feeling the heaviness in your eyelids, you cap your pen and shut your notebook, placing it back in your bag. With the lights out, the last thought you have before sleep consumes you is why haven't you ever tried writing directly to each other after all this time?
