I was thinking about making some (low-level) Content™ for Mental Health Awareness Month because it starts in a few days, and I realized just how few explicitly canon mentally ill characters-that aren’t treated with absolutely appalling disrespect-I actually know. :(

#like. can I even include sofía at this point after what they did to her?#and even with the ones I /DO/ have they either fall into the category of a) no one knows this thing exists except me and/or b) they would #get decried as Bad Representation™ because they're aren't Saintly Peopl™/are an anti-hero or sympathetic antagonist with narrative focus #and there was a movie I really like that didn't do this but it was created by a horrible person I don't wanna think about so that's out too #maybe I'd have to include 'characters I think could be read as having mental illness'#anyway as always drop your recs #someone mentioned mr robot to me so I'll be checking that one out at some point #I'm also probably gonna watch knk after I finish the...oh God three shows.
