#I'm actually thinking of changing Butler Man's design to be more injured from this encounter

So what exactly happened to magic man to make him end up magicless? Well he had a run in with the King of Lost Things after managing to anger him, which isn't an easy thing to do (More Story info beneath the cut).
With this I wanted to make a piece somewhat similar to how the title cards are for Adventure Time, minus the actual title. Whether I managed that goal or not, I'm not completely sure, but I like how this piece turned out so :)
Now for more detail on the story stuff:
So because Simon is not only a King, but a King of a lot of different species, he's had a few people ask for refuge that had been changed by an encounter with a being they called 'Magic Man'.
After around a century with the occasional mention of this 'Magic Man', Simon decided to look into it and see exactly who was messing with people.
Their first encounter wasn't exactly good, Simon tried to reason with Magic Man but all he did was get his attention. Simon left after giving Magic Man a warning to stop messing with people, but Magic Man had other plans.
Magic Man appeared in the Lost Kingdom to 'have some fun'. He was hard to get rid of, he eventually left on his own, but not before doing something that really angered Simon.
He used his magic to make a bird, a lyrebird in shape, but physically made out of very old video tapes. Tapes of himself, Betty and Marcy, before Betty became an oozer, before Marceline found the crown, tapes that Simon treasured very dearly.
Simon was pissed, but he wasn't stupid. He wouldn't rush into making sure Magic Man got what he deserved. He laid out a plan and gave Magic Man one last chance to make things right before he went through with it.
Magic Man refused, so Simon went through with his plan, somewhat.
I'll save the details for another post, but in short, Simon opened a portal to the nightosphere in Magic Man's house (destroying not only the house but also the Martian transporter in the basement) and dragged Magic Man there.
At the end of it, Magic Man was now Normal Man, and would have been Soulless Man had Simon not relented at the last second. Simon left the grievously injured Normal Man in the remains of his home, taking the picture of him and Margles as one last kick while he's down.
After Simon left, Normal Man was left without his madness and sadness (well still some sadness, but at least now it was manageable). He dealt with his injuries the best he could and ended up heading towards the Lost Kingdom. Even if it was dangerous, he needed that picture of Margles.
When he first showed up at Lost Kingdom, he wasn't trusted, but since Simon felt bad for how far he pushed things he was allowed to stay if he worked for his keep (though he was also on thin ice and near the beginning almost always had someone keeping an eye on him).
Eventually, Simon did give back the picture and released Normal Man from his duties, but Normal Man had grown accustomed to how things were and for the first time in a long time, even made some friends. When he asked to stay, Simon allowed him to, and over time the two grew closer until Normal Man turned into Butler Man.
In present Ooo they're good friends and as his butler Simon trusts Butler Man a lot, even enough to manage the trials for the Enchiridion (which will be explained in a future post).
