omg y'all I said I had nothing on the uraichi fic. I am honestly not too surprised but also judging you real hard.
Anyway, have a very quick, very drafty wip. Full disclaimer I tried to start this fic on 5 separate occasions and none of them felt right. This one actually feels decent so who knows I may actually finish it.
This is not a story about a prince, and a kingdom. This is not a story about honor, or sacrifices, or the price of victory.
No.
This story is about what comes after the war. About living again.
This is how a hero dies.
Another Poll???? Apparently
So much things have been happening. and I recently finished with my last zine responsibilities.
Disclaimer this doesn't mean it will get POSTED next, because I'm quirky like that
#uraichi#i guess???#if you remember this prompt no you didn't#RSG Writes#I'll see if I can get a wip of the top 3 winners#which means I actually have to open the cod document hehe oops#on the other hand excited to introduce sqq!suibian au to y'all

Quick WIP update while it's still Wednesday for me:
250 Follower Event - I have 4 pieces to write and they're at the top of my list. A part of me wants to cut down how long some of the stories are so I can get them out faster. The stories are fun so that may not happen...we'll see!
A Line From Me to You - Still working on Chapter 5. We're getting into the spice and I got stage fright 🙃. I figured it out though and it's gonna be good.
March Madness - The last poll will go up tomorrow evening. I should have the failure story from Week 3 ready over the weekend. I'm very surprised by the amount of votes this week! I'm excited to see the winner at the end of the month! (Although I'm biased and know which one I want to see win...)
I'll Be Your Whatever - I will come back to this one! Hopefully as soon as March Madness is over.
2 inbox fic requests - I got 'em and I will work on them! I'm so eager to dig into them and thank you for your patience!
There's one other thing in my inbox that I want to respond to properly 😚🤡
I have a one shot that I'm so slowly working on, but I'm excited for it. It'll have some heartbreak, self-loathing, drinking and smoking while going through feelings, maybe some very small cameos, compromised morals, and smut.
Being out of town last week really threw me for a loop. I have a 3 day weekend coming up, so hopefully I can knock out a chunk of this then.
And if not, thanks in advance for your patience! 🩷🩷

It's New Year's Eve!!
I just wanted to take a little time to reflect on the year and celebrate it and say a ginormous thank you to everyone who has taken the time to drop by around here!! It's been a blast getting to share the Thunderbirds love and I love writing for TAG so much!!
This year had some major highs and lows for me which we're not going to dwell on, because the most important and fun thing is the spreadsheet I set up at the beginning of the year has had it's final update and I have numbers and graphs to happily geek out about!!! Naturally there's some skew - particularly with anything pertaining to AO3 since fics published earlier have had more time in circulation but still, I think it's made for a pretty good overview :D
Numbers and sappy feelings and reflections and things under the cut (there's even some pretty pie charts)
I published 45 separate works this year - many were short ficlets and subsequently gathered into the Thunderbirds Snippets collection which was the "fic" that overall had the most engagement (pretty impressive when you consider the collection only has AO3 stats!). This came to a total of 43,456 published words for complete stories (plus a whole slew for wips! At least another 20,000 is languishing in other documents :D We'll see those come out to play soonish, I'm sure)
As is usual for me, the overwhelming majority of fic this year was short oneshot stories. In fact I didn't finish any multichapter stories this year! Just didn't have the time for that kind of commitment for most of the year :D I also relied a lot on people giving me prompts and I'm endlessly grateful to them (especially @janetm74 and @katblu42 who sent me prompts nearly every time I asked!). I would have spent a lot more time feeling sorry for myself and languishing in writer's block without them bolstering me along <3
As you can see, I did make a fic genre graph, but I'll be honest - this is something I need to tweak for next year because I don't feel the genres well reflect what I actually wrote. This is partially because I only made space for each fic to have one genre, and partially because I dont think the genres I picked well described the writing I did. But looking it over, there's a clear emphasis on family dynamics and the ups and downs that go along with them and I do think that's my favourite part of writing.
When looking over the characters that called to me the most this year - Virgil's our clear winner! Which I think is hilarious because I feel like I wrote with a large Scott emphasis at the start of the year and a large John emphasis towards the end. But the numbers don't lie!! I think partially guiding this is that I wrote a lot more drabbles for Virgil (and Gordon.... lots of them two together!), but Scott and John got more substantial stories on the whole. Maybe. I'd need to check the raw data :D
In terms of people - I am totally blown away by how generous people have been reading my work <3 I see you and it's an absolutely humbling thing to see the same names cropping up over and over again, returning to read my stories which I don't often have a lot of confidence in (fake it 'til you make it, right?). Somehow getting an overview of the whole year only reinforces that and across AO3 and Tumblr I have nearly 4000 thank yous to say; one for every like, kudos, comment, hit, reblog, reply, whatever <3 Many many of which are being given to the same people over and over again, you guys literally rock hardcore and when I think about that number I'm literally so overwhelmed. It's easy to post something that only gets a couple of notes or kudos or whatever and feel discouraged, but when you look at the whole picture? Unreal <3
Now for the fun part; I've gone and taken all that data and figured out what my top 5 most popular fics of the year have been (excluding the snippet/prompt collections :D) so here goes!
Consequences [tumblr] | [AO3]
Cave In [tumblr] | [AO3]
But Not Forgotten [tumblr] | [AO3]
Roommates [tumblr] | [AO3]
The First Time [tumblr] | [AO3] and Hard Places [tumblr] | [AO3] (tied!)
Hey did you know typing [ tumblr ] did that? New things learnt every day lol...
Amazingly, these didn't line up with MY favourites nearly at all! So I've listed my personal top 5 stories below <3
Capture Comfort [tumblr] | [AO3]
The Scare Floor [tumblr] | [AO3]
Consequences [tumblr] | [AO3]
"Prompt Generator #5" [tumblr] | [AO3]
Different Universes [tumblr] | [AO3]
I'm not much for goal setting; it reminds me too much of school and sitting in stupid form classes with zero ideas as to what to say because apparently writing "I want to do my best and enjoy myself" wasn't a good enough goal. So instead I have some ~~intentions~~ that I'd like to carry into 2023 <3
Get better at replying to comments >///< I don't mean to ignore people and I know most of you know that but I do think replying to comments is! an important aspect of community building in fandom and I've neglected my part in that :P I love you all I swear and there's a lot of people I'd like to get to know better <3
Deep breaths here because this one does scare me - I want to write and finish Where Parallel Lines Meet. The scope of this fic scares me but I do love it and I know that it's going to push me a lot. It's going to be great though <3
ARCHIVE AS I GO LIKE WHY DO I NOT DO THAT (it's the titles rip)
This one isn't writing - I just want to rewatch Thunderbirds :D
Finally I've got some specific people to thank. You've all been amazing and kind to me this year and I'm giving you all the giant-est hug. You're also all incredible storytellers and writers and artists in your own right and I am genuinely so thankful to know you all <3
@gumnut-logic - I know I say this constantly but I LOVE getting to geek out about all sorts of different things and I have to say thank you for reading over so many of my fics and picking me up when I think that they're terrible <3 You're the bestest friend and I'm very lucky to have met you :D
@katblu42 - I love your very cheery chats that we've gotten to have, lots of laughter and fun and you always have such sensible advice it's great. Thank you for diving in and not missing a beat when I get randomly dramatic about whatever I'm writing because even when I've completely failed to explain the context you always seem to know exactly what's what :D
@janetm74 - you've been such an incredible cheerleader and every time (because you've done it multiple times!!) that you go through my AO3 and read stuff and comment in quick succession is always so exciting and overwhelming because what the heck?? Remember those 4000 thank yous I have to give - I'm pretty sure at least a thousand of them are yours <3 Thank you as well for sending me all the fun space things you think I'll enjoy and also for egging me on when I'm spouting off silly ideas in response :D I'll need to give them all a proper go someday!!
@gaviiadastra, @the-original-sineater, @godsliltippy, @mariashades, @amistrio - I've so enjoyed getting to know you all this year - you're all amazing writers and totally inspiring and very kind to boot :D I love how unique you all are and how you all bring such amazing ideas to life and I have to say thank you for both chatting with me but also for sharing all your wonderful work <3
@squiddokiddo thank you for be a very consistent source of encouragement and fountain of kindness when I'm having down days in my personal life. You didn't know me at all but that never stopped you from reaching out and checking in and given that this year was beyond shitty in many various different ways it meant the world in ways that I didn't always know how to express <3
oh and there's so many more people - I've had the good fortune to make some amazing friends and I love you all very much.
I don't think I'll get the current chapter I'm working on done today, so this will likely be my final post of the year (although lol I'm sure I'll still be mucking around on my main) and I KNOW this is sappy and you're not meant to put emotion into the data, but it's pretty damn difficult when the numbers are made up out of friendship and people reaching out from across the globe to say "hey, me too <3"
So see you all in 2023!! I can't wait :D
#sometimes i'm a sap#that's all there is to this post#numbers and sap#in case you choose not to read this (bc fair enough it's long)#allow me to wave from here and say thank you thank you thank you to everyone who's read any of my fic this year I see you and I love you#have a great end of the year <3

Oh hey thanks for the tag!
1. How many works do you have on ao3?
14! This will change!
2. What's your total ao3 word count?
53,592, which is pretty neat considering most of them are oneshots.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Currently focusing Bungou Stray Dogs! But I dabble in many, having an ongoing My Hero Academia fanfic that has outlasted my fandom presence, and some TMNT works on the way... I'll also probably end up writing
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
"That Awkward Moment When You, Your Class, and Your Worst Enemies Get Stuck in a Timeloop - 691
"In Candlelight" - 75
"The Greatest Problem" - 74
"Case of the Criminal Copycat" - 59
"The Inconveniences of Illness" - 56
5. Do you respond to comments?
No, but I've been thinking of changing that. I really do appreciate the comments left on all my works, and I'd like to make sure people know that I do.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
That's difficult to say, especially since it depends on what kinda angst we're talking about. But if I had to choose, it's between Winner Takes It All or The Wanderer of Hissui- and I'm personally inclined to say the latter since it tells a complete story, while the first is part of a much longer narrative.
7. What is the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I'd say The Greatest Problem, honestly. It's not even 1K words, making it short and sweet.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Nope! I did get spam once though.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I am physically incapable of doing so. The most I've done is the vaguest paragraph known to man which doesn't detail the act, just communicates that it's being done, and even that makes me embarrassed talking about it.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
That I do! None posted to AO3 just yet, but I have some TMNT iteration crossovers planned, as well as one BSD fanfiction that's heavily inspired by Clue 1985.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not as far as I know, and I certainly hope not.
12. What's the longest you've spent working on one fic? And the shortest?
I've been working on my timeloop My Hero fic- which is still ongoing- since June 2021. It is November of 2023. I do not see this fic ending anytime soon, so the answer is: Years. (And this is just counting from my published fics, not a certain WIP that has yet to see the light of day.)
As for the shortest... if I'm feeling particularly good, I can finish a oneshot in just a couple hours, but I don't do that as much as I used to.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yes! Though as of writing this it isn't ready for posting, I am currently working with some friends one one.
14. What's your all-time favorite ship? From all fandoms?
I'm a massive multishipper you can't just ask this. We'll be here all day.... that said, here are some are particularly clingy:
Mushiango (BSD)
Tokoraka (MHA)
Aidesse (MCSM)
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Though I have had to lay down some WIPs to rest, I generally like to leave myself open to coming back to my fics/WIPs, even if it's been a long time since I've touched them. If there's one in particular though, it's an almost 10K My Hero oneshot that's been untouched for 2 years that probably only needs another few scenes in order to be complete- I even have part of the ending written already. I haven't given up on it yet, but... I don't know if that means I'll ever actually finish it.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue and character development! Aside from being some of my favorite stuff to write (or rather, letting the characters wander off to write themselves) it's what people have usually complimented about my work.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Get myself too write. But for writing itself, action sequences. Trying to write things quick and fast-paced when you're very wordy and like to get specific imagery across is very difficult, but I'm practicing to improve on them.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
Cool! With non-fanfic and stuff too, I always like seeing people adding those kinds of details since it often comes from something unique to the author.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Probably Pokemon, as it was one of my childhood stables I would create for constantly.
20. Favorite fic you've written?
I don't think I have one? Even if I did, it would probably change in a couple months. I really like my latest BSD oneshot Nowhere to Return though, if that counts?
Tagging @a-problematic-writer and I suppose anyone else who would want to!
20 Q's for Fic Writers
thanks for the tag @spacejammie-eimmajecaps!
How many works do you have on ao3? Officially 8, but I have one on anon and one currently unrevealed in a fic exchange
What's your total ao3 word count? 61,996
What fandoms do you write for? So far I've written for Death Note, Tangled the Series, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Haikyuu, plus a couple of crossovers. Haikyuu is definitely my main rn though
What are your top five fics by kudos? #1: Frosting and Freckles: 69 (nice) #2: Draw Me Near: 39 #3: [embarrassing anon fic]: 35 #4: Varian Is Not a Wizard: 25 #5: Midnight Coda: 21
Do you respond to comments? Yeah, I love to! I don't get a lot so they always make me happy :)
What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? probably the anon fic sdfsk but other than that, Midnight Coda is kinda bittersweet because of what happens later
What is the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? hmm idk but the sappiest is definitely Frosting and Freckles
Do you get hate on fics? Not so far, thankfully! I don't think I have a big enough readership for that haha
Do you write smut? If so, what kind? I have not; not sure what kind it would be if I did
Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? I love writing crossovers! A PJO/HP crossover was actually what got me into fanfic. Unfortunately most of them are merely concepts or abandoned (for now), but as for crazy, I think my Lunar Chronicles/PJO one is the craziest in terms of how the plot grew out of control from a simple "what if these two characters interacted" to "I could rewrite most of this series," which is why I got stuck and put it on hiatus lol but I do want to get back to it someday. Maybe once I finish my other active crossover
Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not to my knowledge
What's the longest you've spent working on one fic? And the shortest? Uhhh well if we count "working on" as "having it in the back of mind to get to but haven't worked on in months," probably Sent from the Heavens lol. If not, then Varian Is Not a Wizard (just over two years since I published the first chapter). Shortest is definitely Midnight Coda, since I wrote that pretty much in a day iirc
Have you ever co-written a fic before? No, but it sounds like it could be fun!
What's your all-time favorite ship? From all fandoms? Dude I have no idea how to narrow that down. Best I can give you is my current fave is Tsukkiyama from Haikyuu
What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? Probably my "Leo Valdez ends up in the ATLA world" one :sob: It never made it past the word doc and about three pages of story and I haven't looked at it in like two years
What are your writing strengths? I like to think I'm pretty good at dialogue and grammar/spelling
What are your writing weaknesses? Everything else (jk). I am awful at describing scenes/settings; I get bored writing them so I don't put as much effort in as I should haha. I also tend to ramble and use passive voice too much
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? I haven't done it, but I think it's fine as long as it fits the context
First fandom you wrote for? Published: Avatar: The Last Airbender. Unpublished: Percy Jackson
Favorite fic you've written? I think it's still Bent Out of Shape. It's so niche, but I had an idea and I executed it, and I'm proud of what I accomplished. Although once I finish Varian Is Not a Wizard, that might take the top slot.
No-pressure tagging: @supermarine-silvally @starrynightarchive @litterateur97 @palant1r @soreiya @lilac-writes @oloreandil @kandybarkreepshow @ellegamgee and anyone else who wants to!

Hey also!!
yes hello it’s me finally remembering to promote my patreon here on tungle dot net!! i post on the last day of every month and i am also!! making a change to one of my tiers!!
💙 for $2 a month!! this is the one i'm changing lol. originally it was when i had a schedule and was posting four fics every month and on patreon i would post a couple of paragraphs from each one but you just got to see them early which. honestly. was not really worth the $2 lmfao. but then my arms stopped working and i couldn't post as often so i changed it to each month i would post a big excerpt of old wips that i know i'm never going to finish or write more for. things like not royal au and therapy au and tentacle au and piercings au and body swap au and demon au. very interesting if you do not mind getting cockblocked by knowing there's never going to be more of them lol
but my chronic pain has sucked so bad for so long that i literally ran out of shit to post lmfao so
for $2 a month!! new and improved!! i will be posting two polls every month : ) one will be for you to choose which two fics i take from my googledoc and get all set up into a draft post
and the second will be for you to choose which 1 or 2 fics i will post that month!! 1 or 2 depending on whether or not i have any requests done at the time because i always like to post those as soon as possible. more likely than not it's going to be two
i do have like. a lot of fics in my docs and in my drafts and i'm not going to make a poll with like 20 options every month lmfao but there will still be good and varied choices. You can choose multiple options and the top two will be the winners and i'm thinking i'll leave each poll open until it's time to post the first thing of the month
The first poll will open on September 30th and will be to choose what gets posted in October :-)
💙 for $3 a month you get the polls and wips of everything i've worked on that month. not really much to explain for this one lmao i just take between like 3-8 paragraphs of whatever things i've written that month and edit them and post them. usually it's like 4 or 5 different fics?? sometimes i go absolutely buckwild and write more
💙 for $4 a month you get the polls and the wips and also sfw and nsfw aus like you know. au where they're mermaids or whatever. but more elaborate lmfao. i write at 10-point font and for the sfw things i usually aim for 3 pages and for the nsfw things 2 pages. and sometimes i get really invested in one au in particular so i usually split those into parts and add them onto the normal amount
a lot of them are completely new stuff that i haven't written and sometimes i turn them into actual fics that get posted here eventually. there are some definite bangers like single dads au and mafia au and fallen angel au and final fantasy 10 au. others are like extra things that i've thought about for fics i've already posted like fairy pet au and biker au. currently i'm working on multiple parts for final fantasy xiii au and taekey we got married au. very fun
💙 the reason i started my patreon in the first place was so i could save up monie to go to brain therapy and then physical therapy and so far it has paid for that and i have been able to save up for future appointments whenever the plague ends and because of that i've been able to keep writing fics for fun and me time without getting turbo anxious about it so even if you just show up for one month and speedread four years all at once and then dip i will still appreciate you giving me your monie : )
