-Martial Arts, or w/e-
Wakasa Imaushi Wakui says Wakasa 'specializes in Bajiquan and Kickboxing', which I can see for his Kodo Rengo & Black Dragon days?
If he means like Muay Thai kickboxing, that'd make more sense- Since that AND Bajiquan are all about economy of movement and delivering devastating knee and elbow strikes. Bajiquan was initially supposed to only be used by specialized bodyguards for like Puyi (Qing dynasty emperor) & Chiang Kai-shek and is also known as the '8-Extremities' martial art because it focuses on delivering fast and powerful close-ranged strikes with: the fist, forearm, elbow, shoulder, hip, thigh, knee, and foot.
But in Brahman, Wakasa is always seen being really agile and flashy- Which makes me more think Baguazhang? It's considered a 'soft' style, focuses on circular movements in general, also circling your opponent to confuse them- A lot of employing manipulation and using momentum & weight in your favor.
Hajime Kokonoi I keep joking he's not good in a fight, but he is really good during the Christmas Battle- He just seems to rely on big windups to get any strength, like when he used a spinning side kick to hit Takemicchy.
It's stupidly easy to accidentally turn what's supposed to be a spinning back into the spinning side kick, cuz in a back kick your toes are pointing down (like foot making almost 90 degree angle, practically), but you also can only see with like... ONE eye, so turning your head MORE to actually see the person you're supposed to be kicking makes it turn into a side kick cuz your hips follow your head. NOT SURE if that was intentional or if it just 'looked cool', but whatever- Not a huge deal, I think Koko looks totally awesome pulling it off cuz honestly- Either kick hits really hard if it connects.
I am less sure during the Tenjiku battle Vs. Inupi because he's so emotional during, he's relying on a lot of cheap shots and is enraged enough to manage to fucking lift Seishu in a CHOKE-HOLD (although you can later see just how easily Inupi breaks out of it, so could just be Inupi letting Koko vent his anger before he also gets pissed off).
I love the theory that Koko is Chinese-coded in some way and support @rxsolvx's depiction of Koko being half-Chinese on his mother's side. I'm entertaining the idea of Koko having some relatives from Hong Kong who sometimes visit, so Koko has been casually practicing qigong and taijiquan since he was a kid (for health reasons/because 'it's just something they did').
His maternal uncle is a member of Grandmaster Wong Doc-Fai's Plum Blossom International Federation, which teaches Choy Li Fut and 'Yang-style' Tai Chi.
Choy Li Fut is like a marriage between Northern and Southern Shaolin styles: Powerful arm + hand techniques based off of Southern Shaolin's animal forms, combined with the 'internal' focus from Northern Shaolin long-fist.
Koko was mentored in a far more aggressive, but less all-encompassing version (meaning WAYYY less than the present-day documented 250 freaking forms) of Choy Li Fut by his uncle, who leaned from previous masters that were mentored at the Fut San Hung-sing branch:
What is unique to Choy Li Fut is 'whipping', where the practitioner's upper torso twists to generate more power in executing hand and arm techniques. Choy Li Fut holds the torso at an angle to the opponent to reduce the target area exposed to him, and to allow the practitioner more reach- In other martial art styles, the upper body is less dynamic, which places more emphasis on stability and generation of 'static power'. Front stances in Choy Li Fut have the front bent leg angled in to protect the groin, while more standard stances (like in Hung Gar Kuen & Wing Chun) have the front bent leg facing forward.
I'd like to think due to Wakasa's knowledge of complex hand techniques and the importance of implementing both 'soft' & 'internal' styles, Koko could even train with Imaushi and might really show a lot of skill in off-shoot stuff like Mizong Luohan, which is known for it's deceptive movements, very intricate footwork, varied kicks, and high leaps. It's a very mobile and highly versatile style, plus sneaky... SNEK MAN, SNEK SNEK SNEK *TONGUE BLEPS*
